We had an amazing day in Alhambra with our guide Carlos, who was extremely kind, personable, and extremely knowledgeable about the secrets and history of Alhambra. I am traveling with my elderly parents who have some trouble with mobility and when I messaged Carlos the day earlier about possibly slowing down the pace, he graciously offered the options for a longer, but slower paced tour to see everything, or a standard 3 hr tour with only the main sites. I asked for the longer slower tour and he met us a whole hour before the standard start time. He paced the walking at a comfortable slow pace for my mother, explaining every detail about the sites we were seeing, and was super passionate about taking amazing photos for our family at all the best spots. He stayed with us until the park was closing, answering all of our questions and even grabbing us a taxi to leave. I highly recommend this tour with Carlos if you want a great tour with just you and your family/party.

I booked this last minute and the company and Carlos went out of their way to make the visit happen when all others told me it was impossible to get tickets. They even worked with me at 10pm on a Sunday night to make it happen the next morning! Carlos Sanchez was a fabulous guide who provided so much historical background to our visit. He also went out of his way to ensure my mobility challenged father saw everything and had a great time. If visiting Granada and looking for a private, exclusive and informative visit to AlHambra ensure to use this company and ask for Carlos!
The tour of the Alhambra and palaces was extensive and informative. We appreciated our private guide very much as he pointed out details that we would not have been able know on our own. Initially the tour company made an error and booked our tickets for the wrong day. Fortunately we were able to reschedule and not miss this beautiful site.
The palace is absolutely fabulous and our guide Sow with his indepth knowledge of the place helped us enjoy the tour.
This is as close to a scam you can get. They confirmed my booking two days before but it turned out that they did not have the tickets to Alhambra at that time. In fact, they bought them from The Alhambra org the day after. These are last minute tickets that you are not guaranteed to get. In other words they sell and take payment before they actually have the tickets. In my case the sent me an email at 23:30 the night before our tour and told us that our tour was moved from 12:30 to 17:30. We could not make the 17:30 so our trip to Granada was a waste since Alhambra was the sole purpose of our trip. We have not gotten a refund. I do not understand how a serious company as Tripadvisor can stand behind Viator. Shame on you
Richard was very knowlegable about the history of the Alhambra and the region in general. He was thorough but not overwhelming.
We met Pablo at the front entrance. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He kept us moving at a good pace. We spent 3 hours with him. He was able to answer our questions. Highly recommend Pablo!
Our is an amazing place and our guide Richard was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of the palaces and the area. We really enjoyed it.
Did a private tour with Maria to the Alhambra . She was excellent , so informative , so knowledgeable and very understanding
Maria was an amazing and informative guide. We had a very special visit and enjoyed it very much! It was also well organised.
Dress for the weather, make sure you are ready for cold or rain if need be as we had both. Also, we walked from the train station, it is long with lots of uphill so I would take a taxi if going again. Our guide,Richard, was excellent. Very interesting, personable and knowledgeable. We have had guides around the world and he is one of the best. Highly recommended!
time traveling experience- history meets fairytale stories. Lovey, mystery and adventure stories. Can’t describe it enough.
Pablo was an awesome tour guide. Don’t come to Granada without doing this tour of the must-see incredible Alhambra
In-depth, relatable experience with an Arabic-speaking guide who could read the wall calligraphy, and bring the history to life.
Great trip guide was excellent he was very informative and listened when we ask questions we would highly recommend this tour again
Outstanding experience!!! Our guide, Amine, was amazing! This private tour was well worth the expense. Skipped all lines, and our guide, Amine led us through everything, very informative, and knowledgeable. Such a highlight to our trip!
We had a wonderful tour of Alhambra. The palaces are amazing and a must see if you’re in Spain. We literally booked the tour the day before as it was the only option we could find! It was a very expensive tour but it was our only option. Our private tour guide experience was suppose to start at 11:30 and after waiting for our guide and him not showing up we had to call the tour company and find out it was pushed back to 4pm! This was a real inconvenience as we are traveling with a 7 and 9 year old. We ended up touring around Granada and enjoyed it but we were definitely tired when the 3 hour tour of Alhambra started, so that was less than ideal. Not sure why the tour was pushed back so late. It would have been nice to know the tour was pushed back the night before as we traveled 2 hours to get to Granada. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and it was nice to be able to ask any questions we wanted. He was a bit hard to understand though. It was a very expensive tour but overall we are happy we did it as we may never have a change to get back to that part of the world again and in the long run the memories and photos are worth more that the price we paid and the inconvenience of the delayed tour. It was an incredible experience.
My guide Pablo provided an exceptional experience for me. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and spoke English very well. We visited every area of the Alhambra and made many stops during which he explained historical details. I can highly recommend him.
Lucky to find these a few weeks before visit date (Alhambra tickets sell out quickly) - only option that also included Nasrid Palaces. Excellent skip-the-line tour with a knowledgeable guide - ours was Amine, who had an excellent knowledge of all the components that make the Alhambra special - the history, architecture, Arabic language, and even botany in light of the various gardens on the palace grounds.
If you are booking a tour less than a month ahead, there is an extremely good chance you will be cancelled about 30-60 minutes before the start of the tour. Even if you book longer ahead, there is still a chance you will be cancelled at the last minute. This tour operator massively overbooks compared to the allocation of tickets it can get and does not care about the disappointment and angst it causes people. If you are cancelled at the last minute, you have no hope of getting a ticket at short notice. Unfortunately this isn't the only tour operator that acts like this. Crown Tours is another and I'm sure there are many others.
Amine was very knowledgeable and knew about the architecture as well as the time period took his time. And we never felt rushed.
Amine was great! Knowledgeable with many interesting details to share. Friendly and personable. Highly recommend him.
We had a wonderful experience touring the Alhambra with Maria as our guide. She was incredibly kind, affable, and went above and beyond to make sure our 4-year-old daughter felt included and engaged throughout the tour. Traveling with a young child can be challenging, but Maria's caring and thoughtful approach made the day so much smoother and more enjoyable for our whole family. Her deep knowledge of the Alhambra's history was impressive, and she shared it with such clarity and passion. With limited time, she expertly prioritized the key highlights, ensuring we experienced the most meaningful parts of the Palace without ever feeling rushed. If you're visiting the Alhambra as a family, Maria is the guide you want by your side. We’re so grateful for her warmth and expertise, and we truly hope to tour with her again when we return to Granada!
Pablo was an excellent host, patient, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. He added depth and dimension to my Alhambra visit with his aptly considered commentary. The visit felt very personalized and professional.
Our guide, Amine, is a personable young man who has a great deal of knowledge about the Alhambra. Taking this tour at night was an excellent way to see the Alhambra not merely because we were able to evade the summer heat but also it gives the visitor a perception of magic in the space. Allow me to quote from a qasida (ode) that I read in Robert Irwin's book on the Alhambra: And how many arches rise up in its vault supported by columns which at night are embellished by light! You would think that they are heavenly spheres whose orbits revolve, overshadowing the pillar of dawn when it barely begins to appear having passed through the night. You are left with that impression, particularly viewing The Court of the Lions and the Court of Myrtles.
Amazing experience and great private tour with Amine! Definetely suggest to take your time when visiting Alhambra (4 hours min) since there is so much to see and learn!
This tour was a truly memorable experience, thanks in large part to our excellent guide, María! She was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the history and beauty of the Alhambra to life with her insights. With a bit of luck, we were able to explore all sections of the palace smoothly and without any hassle. While the tour isn’t the cheapest option, I can fully recommend it to anyone who values a more personalized and enriching experience of this spectacular UNESCO World Heritage site!
Amazing place with beautiful gardens. The guide is very knowledgeable and has a lot of historical information
The tour of Alhambra was breathtaking! A must see when you visit Andaluciya. It also helped having the most fantastic tour guide, Carmen. She is extremely knowledgeable, good energy, and very well spoken in English. If you’re a curious history geek like me, Carmen has the answers to it all! She also took a lot of great pics of us!
I highly recommend this private tour. Entry was completely smooth with no waiting time at all, and I was able to enjoy exploring the Alhambra in the refreshing morning air. My guide, Carmen, gave detailed explanations about the Alhambra itself, each of its monuments, and their decorations, all within their historical context. Thanks to her guidance, I was able to discover fascinating points that I would not have noticed on my own. It stimulated my intellectual curiosity and made me want to learn more about the Alhambra and Granada. Overall, I truly felt that joining this private tour was a wonderful decision.
It was wonderful to have our own dedicated guide (Amin was excellent!) as we made our way through the Alhambra complex. There is so much to see and understand. It was nice to be able to ask as many questions as we wanted, and Amin was very knowledgeable. The Alhambra is one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited and I highly recommend this private tour to make the most of the experience!
Well worth the extra cost because we hadn’t booked. Pabloph was a brilliant guide. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and personable.
Alicia was knowledgable and fun, especially on the plentiful flora. She also was adept at avoiding crowds. Our little family group was pleased. Wear good walking shoes
Bad tour guide and end of the day he send to us bad whatsup and photo.. I don't know how to submit a complain
Lots of history, very informative, absolutely beautiful tour! Our guide Carlos was able to describe the history, art, science, and stories of the Alhambra and we enjoyed it so much more. The Alhambra is beautiful and we learned and saw so much. Incredibly beautiful art, and an absolute once in a lifetime experience!
Excellent tour guide and beautiful architecture and history. But totally gouged on price. I understand charging a premium but this was some of the worst pricing in 40+ years of travel. Basically agencies buy up all the tickets well in advance and you are left with no option if you want to see the Alhambra.
Very grateful that they and Viator worked with us to arrange the tour the morning of, right after our previous tour cancelled on us. Marta knew so much about the architecture and decorations, and tailored the tour to our interests. The tour was 10x more pricey than other tours but I guess that’s to be expected given that it was scheduled day-of and was a private tour. It was a great experience!
The tour operator scheduled our visit to the castle interior two hours after our tour began - this was a big inconvenience as we were with little kids and wanted greater flexibility over the structure of our tour. Our tour guide was not very entertaining and low energy - not a good fit for a group with kids.
Abdul was a fabulous guide, very knowledgeable about the history and cultural significance of Muslims in Spain and details of the Alhambra. Such a spectacular and awe inspiring place!
Alice was a fabulous guide - she was so knowledgable and really engaged with my child too. We really enjoyed the whole experience
We took a private tour. Our guide, Bilal, contacted us a day ahead. He is very knowledgeable about Alhambra and patient to answer our questions. The Nasrid palace is beautiful in design and craftsmanship. It’s memorable to visit Spanish Muslim sites.
The Alhambra is a breathtaking sight and well worth experiencing with a knowledgeable guide. Juan Pla walked us through the palaces and gave us insights. Our three hour tour flew by and all in our party were engaged. A once in a lifetime memory.
This was a great tour and perfect length of time. Abdel was responsive, knowledgeable, and friendly. I would highly recommend booking this tour and requesting him as your guide :)
What an experience! We highly recommend this private tour with Bilal. I mean, it’s the Alhambra, so if you have any information at all, it’s outrageously impressive, but Bilal opened up its deep history in ways we hadn’t expected. He was able to read to us the Arabic writings in the décor and interpret the cultural and religious significance of architectural elements. Also, he was able to scoot us past many lines in this crowded site, and the private nature of the tour meant we didn’t get stuck too far away from our guide to hear what he was saying. Of course, all the basics like punctuality and courtesy were met, as well, and we had a fabulous time! Definitely could have spend more time exploring on our own too, so if you really dig this stuff, go prepared! Two thumbs up!!
To organize a quick plan to visit Alhambra and Nasrid palace is kind of impossible, but we have done this via Mr Fatmi Shokuri who is quickly arrange the tickets in reasonable price. Above all that the great guide Mr Ayman was very kind and knowledgeable person who has a lot of historical information and very familiar in all details of the palace. He supported us to have easy access to the palace and he made our trip very valuable and easy. Unforgettable memories thank you Fatmi and Ayman. Highly recommend to new visitors
I intended to go on a tour with an Arabic speaker and one that has a deep knowledge of the Islamic history in Granada, and I am grateful we came across this group! Although tickets on Alhambra website were sold out 2-3 weeks before our visit (I wasn’t aware that tickets should be booked well in advance but I kept trying) so we had to book the tour with tickets 2 days before the visit’s date. Ayman was a great guide and well known amongst the other guides. He had the knowledge we hoped for and is an Arabic speaker. The tour was very eye-opening and we enjoyed it a lot. The only wish is if we had tickets in advance then the experience would have been more reasonably priced. nonetheless, it was a great visit - to be remembered for life!
We had a great time with the tour guide Mr. Ayaman who is knowledgeable about the history, and answering all of our questions
Bilal was the best tour guide. Though I don’t know how you can request a specific guide. I would recommend reaching him directly.
We were so glad to have met Maria and receive such a lovely private tour of the Alhambra. Maria is so knowledgeable and engaging as a tour guide, so warm and kind. The three hour tour was so well planned, it flew by and amazingly we saw everything at a comfortable pace. She also gave us some remarkable restaurant recommendations. We were very happy to be guided towards independent & local food businesses of such high quality. Thank you Maria, you are a total star.
The guide we had was Bilal. He had a depth of knowledge that was amazing and felt this was essential to seeing the Alhambra's unique place in history... and so valuable in today's world of East West tensions.
