Granada Hybrid Walking Tour: Albayzin And Sacromonte

We enjoyed our walking tour of Sacromonte and Albaicín, exploring these fascinating neighbourhoods. Our guide was friendly and welcoming, although we felt the tour would have benefited from a little more depth and storytelling about the area's rich history and culture. Unfortunately, the traditional cave dwelling was closed, so we could only view it from outside, which was disappointing. Being able to step inside a cave home, experience or hear some traditional flamenco, and perhaps sample a local Granada cake speciality would have made the tour much more memorable and worthwhile. Our suggestion would be to adjust the tour timing to ensure these cultural experiences are actually open and accessible. With a few thoughtful improvements, this could be a fantastic tour!

We book this tour only one hour ahead with no problem at all. The meeting place was easy to locate, especially when compared to other groups that have to guess who their guide is in a very crowded area. Play Granada has an actual store front. Our group was only four of us, and our guide Lautaro. He took us to the same classic sites in Albaicin and Sacromonte but following less crowded streets so we could get the local feel. He was very knowledgeable and charming making the long walk truly enjoyable. We definitely recommend !!!!

We had originally planned to visit the Alhambra but every monument and museum was closed due to inclement weather so we ended up taking a private walking tour of Albayzin and Sacromonte. Marta was an excellent guide—so knowledgeable and charming—and we had such a great time despite the weather! She even gave us some great recommendations for tapas in Granada. I cannot recommend taking a tour with Marta highly enough—we love her!!

It was our last day. We were looking forward very much to this tour. We arrived 10 minutes early as requested. 10 minutes after the tour was due to due to start they told us the guide had called in sick. Retund in 5 days. And marked the reason for refund as force majeur - significant global event. When I pointed out that it wasn’t she said ‘is sickness not significant enough for you!’ Rude, disorganised. Our plans for our final day are ruined. Don’t use!!!

Very informative tour we had with Fernando. He is very knowledgeable and patient. We learned that he and his parents are originally from Alhambra, which was evident in the passionate way he guided us through this fascinating and exciting tour. Alhambra is a special place and our guide Christian bought it to life! It would have been easy to miss so much of the experience without the history and context he provided. Well worth the time and money.

Very enjoyable visit. We booked the tour because it was the only way to visit Alhambra, given that the ticket office of Alhambra had sold all tickets till the following month. We did not have particular expectations from the guided tour, so it was a nice surprise to find out how enjoyable and well presented it was.

Andrea was an excellent guide. She is very knowledgable and energetic. She led this English tour. Like other native Spanish guides, she speaks her English quickly as well, and so it can be difficult to follow at times. Nonetheless, I can highly recommend this tour.

We recently enjoyed a guided tour of the Alhambra in Granada, and despite a mix-up in collecting our tickets, Play Granada (specifically Pedro) was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to catch up with the tour. Our tour guide Andrea was exceptionally knowledgeable and delivered the content with a light-hearted touch, creating a warm and humorous atmosphere. Highly recommend this tour for an engaging and informative experience!

This agency unfairly charged us EUR 373 for a tour to the Alhambra, Granada which they refused to give us: evidently, we should have submitted out passport details "well prior to the event". They said that our spots on the tour were already given to other people. We had no idea--who submits passport information before going to a museum? It turns out that we had missed an email about this from the day before. They did promise a refund, but later only refunded us EUR 143 for the actual entry tickets, not for the tour. They claimed that they couldn't sell our slots in the tour anymore. But they clearly had sold them, again! In effect, they charged twice for the same tour slots. I would not use this dishonest tour operator ever again.

We had booked an English tour for 10am and were asked to change the tour time because the 10am tour was cancelled due to insufficient numbers. Then, the tour was cancelled entirely at the last minute. We were left stranded without tickets or guide. No last minute tickets were available to see the Alhambra. We went to the expense of getting accommodations, renting a car and making sure to be there for the day/time of the tour. The meeting location was unclear. The experience was frustrating and deeply disappointing. We will never book with Play Granada again.

Awesome tour. Diego was very knowledgeable about the history and was able to provide great information about Alhambra. If we had not gone with this tour there is no way we would have had the context to fully appreciate this wonderful area.

The tour was cancelled last minute and they never told us. We found out only when we arrived at the meeting spot. Very troubling experience.

Guided walking tour of Granada in Spanish, it was great, Lautaro our guide is very knowledgeable about the subject, he was very kind, and he gave us many details that made the experience incredible, highly recommended!

The guide Mario was a 10, but I feel cheated by the tour; they told me one thing and then it was the complete opposite. They charged us 25 euros per person only to put us on a bus loaded with people that costs 0.60 per person, a fraud. The girl's name is Fabiana and we have felt cheated, no.

Very good service, incredible Diego Alvarez explained everything to us in detail, even offering to take photos, show us other places that were not included in the Tour because we had some time left. It is obvious that he likes his job and enjoys it. Very good attitude. I honestly learned more in 3 hours than in 10 years of school. Thanks to Diego and the company. We will be back.
