Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. I enjoyed it immensely. I highly recommend this tour! Where good shoes.

The overall experience was very good. But we didn’t receive clear instructions on exactly where to meet our guide so please make it more clear in the future. As for our guide, he was excellent, however, he had a couple with whom he had to speak in Spanish which meant that we didn’t get his undivided attention. We didn’t mind it so much but because he had to divide his time, we had to wait for him to explain in Spanish first before he got to us. Some in our group eventually stopped paying full attention to what he had to say which distracts from the overall experience for the English speakers in the group.
Guide "Andy" provided an interesting and informative tour, explaining points of interest (in English and French) and ensuring everyone's comfort and safety. The palace design is fascinating and gorgeous: the tiles, wood carvings, arches, gardens, etc. I feel that I learned so much and enjoyed the experience much more by having a guide.
We booked an English speaking small tour of the Alhambra and enjoyed our visit. We found our meeting point after going to the wrong place at first - it was easy enough to find with google maps. Booked in, got our numbered stickers and paid an euro each for earphones (we didn’t have any with the right lead/jack) and had a coffee in the cafe while we waited for our guide. She gathered us together (there were about 11 of us). She conducted the tour in Spanish and English via the audio sets we were given (as we were a mixed group). We needed passports to enter the Alhambra but this was quick and we we were given a great tour of the palaces and garden (10-1.30) with a 20 min break (loo stop). She covered the history and pointed out details of what to look for and take in. She was very enthusiastic and knowledgable. It didn’t feel rushed - it felt like a full tour of the key highlights with lots of information about the history of the place in context of Spanish /world history.
A great tour of the Alhambra. Our Guide Alain was informative, friendly and funny. He paced the tour and information he shared with us well, engaging with all in the group.
Alain was both personable and knowledgeable, making this tour one of the best I've ever experienced! The amount of information he knew about the site was expansive, yet he shared the info in a casual way that made it more interesting and fun to learn. His wonderful sense of humor was the icing on the cake-- I highly recommend choosing him as your guide for this amazing tour!
No wonder this is the most visited UNESCO site in Spain. Our guide Alain was very informative and had a great sense of humor. Made the 3.5 hour walking tour a highlight of our trip.
Tour guy had a great amount of knowledge, but he had a very strange accent when he spoke English and I probably be missed about 30 to 40% of what he was saying cause I couldn’t really understand him. My wife had the same experience.
Excellent tour and guide. Must do when visiting Granada! Beautiful sites and history to experience and explore.
Fernando was very knowledgeable/ friendly and professional. Good to be in a small group
Enjoyed this unique place very much. Carlos P from GranaVision was our guide and he was excellent, both knowledgeable and entertaining.
Our guide, Hector, did a great job and was very enthusiastic despite a truly massive mess up on the company’s part, so please note that the negative is only directed at the company. We traveled from Seville in the morning to Grenada for a day trip, and arrived on time for our tour to start at 12. However, when we got there they informed us that they had rescheduled us 2 hours later. They said they had attempted to contact us on WhatsApp, but the message has 1) been filtered out as spam, 2) last edited at 8am after we had already left on our train. Since it was not really possible to return downtown, we walked around some gardens for a bit and got a bite a the cafe. When we returned for our tour, we found out that we would be on a combined French and English tour. It was very obvious that the company wanted to maximize profits so just combined our small English group with the small French tour. This genuinely made the experience not enjoyable- the guide had to constantly ping pong between languages. You could tell people were disappointed since everyone signed up for monolingual tours. This whole experience with the booking company was so unprofessional.
Our guide Antonio Villalabos was excellent. He has the gift of communicating information in an entertaining and engaging way. Having studied history at University, he is a fund of facts, stories and unusual insights. We were unusually lucky being in a group of just 6 which made it even more enjoyable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Antonio to any visitor. Thank you!
We had an excellent experience with Sara. It was only 2 couples in this tour and Sara guided us in Spanish and English since one couple was from Spain and we were from US. We enjoyed this tour very much. It was well paced and Sara added little stories and legends as well as the facts. We recommend this tour and Sara as well. She did a great job!
We had a great experience with Granavision tour of the Alhambra with our tour guide, Mr. Villalobos, who was very knowledgeable. He paced the tour well and kept discussing various aspects of the Alhambra including using music that made the tour interesting. The location of the meeting place is not obvious. So ask for clear directions ahead of the meeting time.
We had a wonderful experience visiting the Alhambra with our guide, Alfredo. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole tour enjoyable for both adults and children. During the tour, we were able to explore the different parts of the Alhambra, including the beautiful Generalife and the Nasrid Palaces. Alfredo explained everything in an interesting and easy-to-follow way and made sure we had enough time to really appreciate the surroundings. It was a very hot day, but Alfredo took great care of us throughout the tour. He regularly made sure we stayed hydrated, found opportunities for breaks, and kept the pace comfortable, which was especially important as we were travelling with kids. The children enjoyed the visit as well, which made the experience even better for us. Overall, it was a very well-organised, relaxed and memorable way to discover the Alhambra. We would definitely recommend this activity and Alfredo as a guide!
The whole experience was a fun and fascinating learning experience. To learn something in school is one thing, to be there in person and see it while it is explained so well made this such a valuable tour. A very important part of world history!! I loved it. Highly recommend!
Carlos F was a knowledgeable guide. He is very talented and has a great personality.
Carlos was such an engaging, entertaining guide who was a wealth of information. He's local to Granada and knows the Alhambra well. It's obvious he cares and loves what he does. His support of those on the tour who needed a hand with stairs and such was lovely to witness. The company was professional all around. And Carlos made my experience of the Alhambra one to remember for years to come. Thank you so much!!
At first I was disappointed that two groups had been combined making 30 people. Not a small group! Also, the guide had to speak two languages. With that said, Hector is an amazing guide! He is a storyteller, whi lays out the history of the Alhambra beautifully. I would highly recommend this tour if you can be fortunate to have him.
Where do I even begin? Our day trip to the Alhambra with GranaVision was hands down my favorite experience of our entire trip to Spain — and we had an incredible trip. Hector was an absolutely phenomenal guide. His knowledge of the history, architecture, and stories behind every corner of the Alhambra was remarkable. He made the whole place come alive in a way you simply can’t get from reading a guidebook or wandering on your own. The Alhambra itself is breathtaking — one of the most gorgeous monuments I’ve ever set foot in. But what made it truly special was having Hector walk us through it. He kept the energy fun and engaging the entire time, answered every question we threw at him, and genuinely seemed passionate about sharing Granada with us. If you’re visiting Spain and skipping the Alhambra, you’re doing it wrong. And if you’re doing the Alhambra, book with GranaVision and ask for Hector. Easily a 5-star experience from start to finish, highest possible recommendation. This one will stick with me for a long time
Our guide Alain was very knowledgeable and took us through the forts and palaces explaining the various features in an interesting manner. The one small issue was with the headset unit he was using. It has a continuous crackle which made it sometimes hard to hear him. Apart from that we really enjoyed the tour.
We had a fabulous experience. The people at Granavision Excursions treated us well and our guide, Antonio V. Could not have been any better! He was knowledgeable, friendly and he took the time to show us so many wonderful things about Alhambra! We had a three hour tour with Antonio and he never stopped ensuring we were comfortable and the knowledge he shared will last us a lifetime!
We had an unfortunate situation our tour guide’s equipment kept going out we we had to wait for replacement batteries four times, so we missed over 30 minutes of the tour. Our guide gave us very little historical information
Absolutely fantastic tour with wonderful guide Carlos Serrano. Amazing guide and incredible experience!! Our guide, Carlos Serrano, was knowledgeable, engaging, and impressively multilingual—speaking 5 languages including Arabic which he used to share with us so many of the inscriptions that are part of the designs of Alhambra. Carlos effortlessly guided our tour in English and German, making everyone in the group feel included and comfortable. Carlos brought so much energy and historical insights to the tour, sharing background and historical detail that we could never have gotten on our own. Highly recommend—highlight of our trip!
Large property, lots of steps, very busy. Quite glad that we booked a small group tour. There were 8 of us. Guillermo was our guide. He was knowledgeable and passionate about the Alhambra, and knew all of the best spots to get the best pictures. We loved getting to visit this justifiably revered piece of history to better understand the culture of Granada.
The Alhambra Palaces and gardens are absolutely spectacular and well worth a visit. The area is much bigger than we expected and we were very grateful to be guided by th very knowledgeable Andy whose insights enhanced the whole experience.
Carlos was our tour guide and he was great. He took a personal interest in each of us and was so knowledgeable about the history of the Alhambra. We learned a lot from him and he made the whole experience very enjoyable.
We took the tour at the beginning of high season on a Saturday, and our guide Felipe kept us together--managing both the explanations and attending to the different needs within the group. Alhambra is an amazing place, rich in history and a range of cultures. Felipe provided clear explanations and was attentive to taking us to preferred viewing angles both within and from Alhambra. Being with a good guide is essential given the size and complexity of the location. The tour itself takes about 3 hours with a brief rest break at roughly the midpoint. You will then be able to return on your own to any places of special interest. The museums within the Carlos V palace do not require additional tickets or fees, and are well worth the time to include them. A few key points about the tour--especially for those not accustomed to reading the "fine print" on tour confirmations: (1) Take seriously the note in the description that the meeting time of the group is subject to change. Our time was moved from noon to 10:00 am on about 24-hours notice. (2) Both the ticket exchange and the meeting place are at Granavision's own Welcome Center (and not the welcome center and ticket office for Alhambra itself). Be sure to use the address in the tour confirmation. (3) All group tours in Alhambra must use audio assist devices (you will be thankful), so bring some standard, cabled, in-ear headphones with you. If you don't have them, they will be available at the Granavision Welcome Center for a small additional fee. (4) You must have your actual passport (or Spanish national ID) with you. It will be scanned at entry, several internal points, and exit from Alhambra.
We have just taken a guided tour of the Alhambra in Granada. Our small group was 15 people. Celia our guide was informative, read the pace of the group and overall did a fantastic job. 10 out of 10
We had an incredible time exploring the Alhambra with Felipe! He was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the place. He made the tour truly memorable. Thank you, Felipe, for such a wonderful experience!
This was incredible. Highly recommend. Thank you to our guide Fran.
The tour was well paced and informative without being overwhelming. Our small group made it easy to hear Andy, our guide, who was entertaining and who did a great job presenting the tour in both English and French without leaving anyone out. Clear instructions we're provided to get to the meeting location.
I went as a larger group and we had Hector as a tour guide! He was amazing at stimulating interest in the subject matter and made the tour extremely interactive. I can't recommend the site or Hector enough!
Alhambra Tour Alain did a wonderful job. Explained all about the palaces and history and how it all evolved through the centuries
Booking this tour was a great idea. Made the day so much more relaxing to have everything taken care of and I learned a ton from our wonderful guide, Align. A truly amazing and beautiful place to visit!
Our guide, Antonio Villalobos, was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and made our time at the Alhambra unforgettable! Amazing place with an amazing guide!
Carlos was a great guide, interesting, personable and knowledgeable. His expertise enhanced our experience of the incredible Alhambra.
We really enjoyed the tour yesterday! Many interesting facts were shared by our guide. She had the tough task of sharing information to both English speaking and other languages. Would have been great to have only an English speaking tour. Thank you!
Huge amount of history during the tour... very versed in the total experience. Earbud radio system worked well.
Our guide, Aline was fantastic. Super engaging and interesting. It was frustrating, though, that the company put two groups together with different languages, so the poor guy had to do everything twice in two languages. It wasn’t great, as it got annoying.
We had a wonderful tour through Al Hambra with very kind tour guide Alain. He knows all about the history and what there is to see till the smallest details. As well as knowledge about the arabic language. He tells all about it in a very enthusiast way with a true heart for Al Hambra. We for sure recommend Alain as your AL Hambra Guide.
Granavision was an utter failure - they should be ashamed of ever dealing with tourists. We arrived at the dedicated spot with time to spare only to be told that the small group guided tour we booked months in advance was ‘cancelled’. Needless to say, we did not cancel - we traveled internationally to Spain specifically to see the Alhambra. We received the usual confirmation from Viator and they always communicated with us in the past if a tour had to be cancelled. We received no such communication so of course we thought all was well. Upon arrival we presented our Viator confirmation to get our ticket only to be told that there was no ticket and no tour. DO NOT book with this company. They are in charge of reserving the guided tour and entry to the Alhambra and they failed to do that. They could not explain why our reservation was not in their system, and only said that it appeared as cancelled. They said that Viator had probably emailed us saying it was cancelled. We always check and are super responsible with these things and not only did Viator not email us to cancel but they were emailing almost everyday to say to get ready for the tour. How can a reservation that does not appear in their computers can magically appear as ‘cancelled’. If we could leave less than zero stars in our review we absolutely would.
We booked with this company for a small tour of the Alhambra Palace over a month in advance of our trip to Granada. We were so looking forward to it as this is the main attraction of this city! At 7.45am on the morning of our tour (due to start at midday), they cancelled us (4 of us) giving no explanation for the cancellation and that there was nothing they could do. Our hotel informed us that they had probably overbooked and did not have enough palace tickets and therefore, cancelled us. We paid nearly £250 total for this advanced booking and did not expect this. A lot of money was spent coming to Granada and we did not have any options open to us at such short notice to see the palace. Terrible situation- you should book directly with palace to avoid this happening to you!! This has never happened to us booking via TripAdvisor; an absolute disgrace
To start with a positive, the Alhambra and Generalife Gardens are amazing. This tour was not however amazing. The welcome was chaotic and unfriendly. You needed headphones to listen to the guide on the provided headsets, this was not highlighted during booking so you had to buy them at the check in desk, 1 Euro, but I could have had my own and not created waste. The tour was billed as an English tour but we had 4 German tourists added onto the group which meant that the guide had to keep stopping to speak in English and then repeat in German. This did mean we had time to look at the views but it made the walking very disjointed and lost the flow of information. To be fair it was impressive that the guide could switch so easily between languages. The radio signal kept dropping out and was crackling the whole time, it was not possible to adjust the sound level. This meant you lost a lot of information and by the end of the tour I was completely disengaged by the disruptive talking, very sad. The guide was very effusive but did not manage the group very well, we all got spread out and it was difficult to hear questions. One member of the group required a wheelchair but this had not been arranged beforehand so there was a lot of waiting before we could actually start the tour. We stopped for a 'short' 10 minute break which actually turned into about 30 minutes. With the delay to the start, the constant stop/start with translations and then the extended break this did not feel like good value for money. There are many tours available, check carefully before you select would be my advice.
Do not book this tour. They moved the time slot by two hours forward and then refused to refund saying the terms and conditions allowed them to change time. Yes, may be by 30 mins, but not two hours early. We planned the trip through several cities in Spain and could not make it by two hours early. The providers do not care about you at all, not even an apology. Avoid at all costs. The only consolation was that Viator agreed to refund, we are certainly grateful, but we needed a tour, not a refund.
Francesco Treig was the gentle soul providing us with a captivating picture of the Alhambra. He helped to bring the place alive, and guided us in such a way that we stayed away from the larger crowd gatherings, while colouring the tour in his warm and personal way.
Our guide on this 3 hour tour was Carlos. He was interesting, amusing, and so knowledgable. Carlos really brought the visit to life. He was also well organised and made sure we saw as much as possible in the time we had there. I think we were very fortunate to have such an excellent guide. Thank you.
It was advertised as a small group tour of 10 but we were part of a 20+ group tour. It started with a 30 minutes delay - we were informed only after arriving at the meeting point. The guide was okay, gave us a basic history but was not very engaging. I expected more from a guide that charged double the official Alhambra tours.
Great experience! Easy to purchase tickets and find the welcome center. Great guide with all the history!
