Abdul got us last minute tickets and was friendly. The time changed from 3 to 5 but we were flexible and got to see the Alhambra which we were thankful for.

Itinerary
The Nasrid Palaces are the heart of the Alhambra of Granada and one of the most impressive jewels of Islamic art in the world. Built between the 13th and 15th centuries by the sultans of the Nasrid dynasty, these palaces were the official residence of the monarchs and the center of power in the Kingdom of Granada. Its exquisite architecture combines courtyards with fountains, delicate plaster filigrees, majestic arches and a rich decoration of Arabic inscriptions that still recite verses from the Koran and poems from Al-Andalus. Among its most iconic spaces are the Patio de los Lions, the Hall of Ambassadors in the Palacio de Comares and the Patio de los Arrayanes, reflecting Nasrid splendour. Every corner of the Nasrid Palaces is a testament to the cultural and artistic sophistication of medieval Granada. Visiting this ensemble is time travel and immerse yourself in the history, poetry and refinement of Al-Andalus.
The Generalife is the former playhouse of the Nasrid sultans of the Alhambra of Granada, an oasis of tranquility surrounded by lush gardens and fountains. Built in the 13th century, this space served as a rest home for monarchs, keeping them away from the bustle of the city and the center of power. Its design reflects the essence of Andalusian paradise, with landscaped courtyards, reflecting ponds and architecture that blends with nature. The Courtyard of the Ditch, with its water channel flanked by colorful flowers and cypress trees, is one of the most iconic corners, evoking the harmony and refinement of Islamic art. From its terraces and viewpoints, Generalife offers unrivalled views of the Alhambra and the city of Granada. Its serene atmosphere and the perfect integration between water, vegetation and architecture make it one of the most beautiful and evocative spaces of the Alhambra, ideal for immersing yourself in the essence of Al-Andalus.
Imposing and eternal, the Alcazaba is the defensive heart of the Alhambra of Granada, the place from which the Nasrid sultans protected their kingdom. With its high walls and watchtowers, this fortress, the oldest in the Alhambra, dominates the city from the hill of the Sabika, offering one of the most spectacular views of Granada and its vega. Walking through its walls is about history, feeling the presence of soldiers who once patrolled its battlements and discovering the remains of the military quarter where they lived with their families. The Candle Tower, the most emblematic, continues to mark time with its bell, which still rings on designated days. From there, Granada stretches at the feet of the visitor, bathed in the golden light of the sunset. More than just a fortress, the Alcazaba is the symbol of a kingdom that fought for its legacy to the end. Between the stone and the wind, you can still see the echo of a time when Granada was the jewel of Al-Andalus.
The Palace of Charles V is an imposing Renaissance construction located in the Alhambra of Granada. Ordered built in 1527 by Emperor Charles V, it symbolizes the Christian presence in an enclave of great Islamic importance. Its monumental design, by the architect Pedro Machuca, stands out for its perfect harmony and its influence of Italian classicism. The palace features a square structure with a unique circular courtyard inside, an innovative feature in Renaissance architecture. Its imposing stone facade and elegant columns lend it an air of grandeur, in contrast to the delicacy of the nearby Nasrid Palaces. Today, Charles V Palace houses the Alhambra Museum and the Granada Museum of Fine Arts, where you can admire pieces of Islamic art and works from the Spanish Golden Age. Its history, architecture and surroundings make this palace a must for visitors to the Alhambra.

We had Abdul as our guide for our Granada and Alhambra tour in September, and it was an amazing experience. His knowledge, passion, and engaging way of explaining everything made the visit truly special. He was always attentive, patient, and brought such a warm energy to the tour. Thank you, Abdul, for an unforgettable experience!
I traveled with my mom, and we both had an amazing experience. The tour was excellent, it was fun, informative, and full of fascinating history. Highly recommended!
This private tour of the Alhambra was amazing! Our guide gave us really interesting insights into the history of the city / palace. We especially enjoyed his in depth explanation of the art and inscriptions. Book ahead of time if you can!!
We had a great experience with Abdelgawad, who is very knowledgeable about the history of the place. He explained every piece of this amazing place, and went the extra mile by taking photos of us and showing us the best spots around the palace.
To start, I will say that you definitely should not tour the site without a guide of some kind. I think it is extremely unlikely you could fully appreciate the site without a knowledgeable guide. Abdul gave us a great tour and clearly had a great respect for the site. He studied history at the local university and definitely knew his stuff and it was plus that he could also read Arabic and was able to translate many of the inscriptions for us (some of which we probably wouldn’t have even realized were inscriptions as opposed to just decorative). He gave us a thorough tour of the site, clearly answered our questions and provided a lot of insights that I don’t think we would have gotten if had guided ourselves.
Abdul was the best tour guide we could have chosen. He read us the words written all around Alhambra because he speaks Arabic and told us the traditions and history of the buildings in an engaging way. He really seemed to be aware of our needs because when we liked a piece of history he would expand on the information and when we stopped for pictures he hung around and gave us space. He even took pictures of us during the tour! His energy was calm and friendly. After our tour he went out of his way to recommend us places to eat at in Granada. We highly recommend you do your tour with him.
Great experience! Helped me secure a last minute ticket and Sow was a fantastic guide - the extra layer of history provided by an Arabic speaker was invaluable. Would highly recommend!
Abdul was amazing. Very welcoming and easy to talk to, which made the tour that much better :) Would recommend for any other tourists, or locals, wanting to visit!
Very nice and extremely knowledgable private tour! We enjoyed also the tour guides insights and how he arranged all without queue for us! Bravo!
Abdul gave us a thorough backround description on our private tour. He is very knowledgeable. Thanks for the great experience.
The tour and the guides were amazing. They were kind and knowledgeable and provided very wonderful details and information. There was some confusion with tickets to start because they only had 3/5. It seemed like we would not all be able to go, but the guides worked very hard to find 2 more tickets within an hour, even though all tickets were sold out. Then we got in and had a fabulous time.
Loved the Alhambra, but the tour guide made it even better. Super knowledgeable, fun, and told great stories. Learned a lot without feeling like a history class. Totally worth it!
Abdul helped us to last minute tickets. Simon was a wonderful guide. He made us see the Alhambra as it must have been, where necessary using photographs on his ipad to make things more lively. And he took amazing photos for us. We had a fabulous time.
This visit has been the most fascinating to La Alhambra (out of 5 visits), and the reason is that Ibrahim, the guide, apart from telling the story with passion, was able to read the Arabic inscriptions, and beautiful poetry on the wall, explain the calligraphy, etc. I warmly recommend this tour with arab/spanish/english speakers tour guides
Such a beautiful experience. The guide was super kind and explained everything in a way that made it easy to connect with the place. Really grateful! 100% would recommend

I highly recommend them and this tour to anyone visiting the Alhambra. It's a must-do experience that will leave you with lifelong memories!
The guide’s ability to read and interpret the poetry written on the walls of the place was a real bonus. It added a unique cultural and emotional depth to the experience, helping us connect with the history and soul of the site in a much more meaningful way. It felt like the walls were speaking through the guide’s voice.
We had amazing time exploring Granada, from Alhambra to the narrow streets of the Albaicin. ¡Muchas gracias por una experiencia inolvidable!"
Super thankful they got us last-minute tickets to the Alhambra! They made it all easy and even gave us a great tour just for me and my family. Super friendly and really knew their stuff. Totally recommend!
Abdelgawwad is certainly one of the best guides I have met. He’s such a knowledgeable and a very kind person. Being Egyptian, he managed to read through all the poems and inscriptions carved on the walls of the Nasrid palaces. His command of languages is praiseworthy. Very highly recommended.
I booked the tour at the very last minute and was incredibly lucky—our guide managed to get us sold-out tickets and arranged a private tour just for me. The whole experience was amazing. He was super knowledgeable, engaging, and made the Alhambra come alive with his stories and explanations. I truly enjoyed every moment and would 100% recommend booking a tour with him if you want a smooth, unforgettable visit. Thank you again!
Very great experience. Abdul was an amazing guide! Went above and beyond to really get an in depth look at the true beauty of this place.

It has been a pleasure to visit the Alhambras with Abdul our guide, who accompanied us, thanking for his experience, passion and kindness. Let us never forget the poems of the Alhambra read to us by Abdul. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it.
I want to thank the friendliness and fast management of Califa Experience, I found no Availability (in covers) anywhere until I found Califa Experience who managed everything fast. The tour with Abdul was amazing, passionate about his work that he enjoys doing. It was at the level of this wonderful monument. Thank you so much!
I write this recommendation with the intention of highlighting the outstanding work of a tour guide who transformed our visit to the Alhambra from a thwarted dream to an unforgettable experience. While the beauty of the monumental ensemble is indisputable, the quality of the experience depends greatly on the person who accompanies us and tells us his story. In this sense, Abdul not only fulfilled, but exceeded all our expectations. The factor that initially made us value his professionalism immensely was a real act of miraculous management: obtaining tickets. Due to a planning error on our part, or the usual huge demand for the monument, we find the discouraging news that tickets to the Nasrid Palaces were completely sold out. We thought our trip would be marred by not being able to access the heart of the Alhambra. Abdul, however, demonstrated dedication and impeccable networking. At the last moment, thanks to his diligence, commitment and knowledge of the procedures, he managed to secure the precious tickets. This act, which we consider to be superior Customer Service, allowed us to continue with the original plan and enjoy the entire tour. Beyond this crucial logistical intervention, the quality of your tour was what really engraved the visit in our memory. Abdul possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of the history, art and Islamic and Christian architecture of the Alhambra. His narrative was fluid, captivating and full of anecdotes that gave life to every courtyard, room and fountain. Instead of reciting dates, he transported us back to the time of the Sultans, allowing us to understand the deep symbology hidden in the details of the Mobarbs and Generalife gardens. His ability to communicate was not limited to historical content, but also to human warmth. He answered all questions patiently and enthusiastically, adapting the pace and depth of information to the interests of our group. His passion for Granada and its flagship monument was infectious, and that genuine excitement elevated the tour from a simple guided tour to a deep cultural dive. If you are looking for a guide who not only masters history and knows how to illuminate the corners of this World Heritage Site, but is also willing to go above and beyond to ensure that your trip is a success, especially in the face of setbacks such as lack of tickets, do not hesitate to contact him. It is the personification of professionalism, passion and efficiency.
I loved this tour. I took the best memory of my trip to Granada and the Alhambra. I recommend it 100% because the guide made us a great visit and having a great day
