Be mindful that if you are late for the start time even by 10 min and if the group has entered the Alhambra you will not be able to join and you will be left at the entrance with no assistance. Unfortunately this happened to us and we tried desperately to contact Granada A Pie who had our ticket to enter the Alhambra and refused to assist us in anyway. Their response was basically- too bad not our problem. If you are visiting the Alhambra purchase your tickets directly through them as they are there on site to assist.
They can change your tour time and offer no refund. Ours was moved from noon to 5pm which we can’t do. They told me to read the small print and it’s too late to change!
Even though we are far from fully understanding Spanish, the visit was fantastic and very immersive. Our guide, Carmina, was very dynamic and showed us the most relevant viewpoints of the site. Nasrid Palaces is like a waking dream.
We were scammed by this company saying we weren’t present on time and the guide left without us. The meetup instructions were vague “meet outside the cafe bar near ticket entrance” and after asking multiple people for help and waiting in three different places we found a number to call for help and was told our tickets were inside the bar. Though the guide was supposedly only five minutes in to the tour the company said they were unable to reach the guide or provide the name of the guide. We asked every English speaking guide we encountered and no one was missing five people. We called for THREE HOURS and the company refused to answer.
Be ready for lots of walking and seeing structures that are more and more beautiful and interesting. Our guide, Pedro, was fantastic: kind, funny, and full of Listen to the history: Romans, Muslims, then Christians. Our guide, Pedro, was fantastic: kind, funny, and full of fascinating stories.
We absolutely adored this tour with Granada a pie. It was the highlight of our whole trip to Spain. We had a ticket for the Alhambra, palaces and gardens and it was a three hour tour. Our guide Mary Teresa was so lovely and friendly. She told us so much and was really easy to talk to. Some people in our group said the audio guides kept cutting out, however we only found this to be an issue if you strayed too far from the group, but if you stuck together they worked well and this was not the guides fault at all as some people complained to her but I think she did amazing! The only thing I would say is we found the meeting point slightly difficult to find as it’s through the arch, past the info point and we would’ve hate to have missed out. I would completely recommend this tour, it was honestly amazing and so pretty! The views are insane. Thank you so much!
They took our money more than 4 weeks before our tour saying tickets were available. They then cancelled 10 hours before
Fernando had a very strong accent which was hard to understand at times but probably more to do with our inability to interpret the accent. It is such a fabulous site to see.
We found this tour listed on the Alhambra official site, and thought they would be an official of the Alhambra. There was much confusion on our part as to if we were getting the tour we booked at the time we booked. See below. Our guide Frances whisked us around the complex and gardens of the Alhambra in around 2 hours… some people might need more time. **There was a miscommunication with the tour operator the day before our arrival to Granada. My hubby was led to believe that the Alhambra tour time had been changed to the evening. It turns out that it was an add on tour about was just for Granada not the Alhambra. After much back and forth with the tour company we understood we could still get our tickets to go into the palace at the appointed time, my husband took that to mean without a guide. The communication the day before about the change of time for the tour made us change our day trip to Granada to an overnight trip, in the end was a happy coincidence as we enjoyed Granada very much. (Not so much the added on tour, because after a day of touring the Alhambra my knees wanted a night off.)
Four weeks before our trip, we booked and paid for a guided tour of the Alhambra/Palacios Nazaries. Everything was confirmed accordingly for our visit in March 2025. We were on a cruise and drove from Motril to Grenada to visit the Alhambra as the highlight of our trip. On the agreed time, we waited in front of the Alhambra. Other people were also there waiting for the guide. But no one was present. Finally, a young lady came and informed us that the booked tour would not take place at 12 noon, but only at 2 pm. They would have been sent a SMS at 10.30 a.m. (which none of those present received). One can imagine the frustration of those present. Everything was organized and paid for and now GRANADA A PIE apparently had no guide and postponed the tour to 14 hours. But we had our bus back to the cruise at 3.30 p.m., and so we couldn't take the tour at 2 p.m. Other tourists were also in the same situation and were frustrated and disappointed. And even nastier was that they didn't want to refund us for the paid tour. There justification was the SMS they sent in advance (which none of the people present had received). I had to intervene four times (!) until I was finally reimbursed for the costs I had paid for the tour. Avoid GRANADA A PIE – there are plenty of other providers for this tour.
Have just re-read some of the other reviews. We had NO problem with our tickets, although we did book some months in advance and did confirm the booking the day before as requested. There was a little bit of a struggle to identify the correct tour guide at the Cafe meeting place. However our guide NATALIA was very knowledgable and gave us a useful understanding of Andalucian cultural and religious history, setting the Alhambra in context with the events of the time and telling us how the site had developed since. Questions from the tour group were answered patiently and we were given time to take photos at the key points of the tour. Overall, an excellent experience. Thank you Natalia for helping to take one item off my "bucket list".
We were scammed by Granada A Pie. I can not recommend tourist use their services. They do not appear to be a proper tour operator but middle men and ticket scalpers. We paid in full for a tour of the Alhambra in advance, travelling all the way from Canada and booking a hotel in Granada to keep the appointed time, but no tour guide turned up at the meeting point in Granada. Total rip off.
Our tour on 1 April 2025 was canceled with 6 hours notice. The company was not able to buy entrance tickets (yes, they always try to buy them last minute; no, they do not announce it when you buy the tour). The full refund was promptly done. It is very emotional for me -- I read about Alhambra from childhood, this tour was supposed to be the pinnacle of the visit to Spain. I booked it really in advance (official tickets were still available! But for this visit I wanted a guide...), and did not expect that they just do not have entrance tickets. It is not a 100% scam in the sense that they do return money, but the whole vacation lost o lot of its flavour, and I am not sure when I will have free time (and money) to visit Granda again...
Even though the tickets were booked a long time in advance, on the day of our visit we were cancelled, as apparently there were not enough tickets available. We were issued a refund, but this does not help with the disappointment and the expense of getting to and staying in Granada. We could have extended our stay by a day but the next tickets were not available for six weeks or so!
Everything was wonderful. Pedro was very knowledgeable and the 3 hours tour just flew. We learned a lot and the Alhambra is now a highlight of our Andalucian trip.
In my experience, this is a very dishonest outfit. I bought tickets for me and my family to visit the Alhambra at 12 p.m. on June 28. We were taking the first rain from Malaga to Granada for the tour arriving at 10:45 a.m. in Granada. The day before the tour was to take place, they sent me an email saying that the 12 p.m. tour had been cancelled because of sever heat (The high for the day in Granada was 74F so this was not true!) and I was put on the 10:30 a.m. tour. I told them that my train did not get in until 10:45 a.m. and would then have to take a taxi to the Alhambra and they responded that I should take an earlier train. I pointed out that this was the first train from Malaga to Granada. They said "too bad, you should have come the night before". I asked them if I would be getting a refund and they said "No!". They said the tickets would be printed for our pickup when we got there, but it was useless since entry into each section of the Alhambra is very closely time managed. In my opinion they are crooked.
Guillermo was super! Made this tour fun, entertaining and informative with a group of various cultural backgrounds. Still he was able to engage everyone and keep us interested. His tour was inspiring. From a tour guide to another, bravo keep it rolling Guillermo and best wishes for your newborn!!!!
A must ! Do all three Oalaces and gardens we had been before but last time we only did one. That was a mistake. Our guide Pedro was great. We would definitely recommend this tour.
It’s such a large area that it really helps to have a guide to explain it. Smallish group and friendly, informative guide. I would have bought ‘normal’ tickets for the Alhambra if they hadn’t been sold out but the guided tour was well worth it.
Ruben was a really good guide, very knowledgeable and took his time showing us the place and sharing information.
They get 2 stars just because our Alhambra tour guide JJ was really good. The rest was a mess, very disorganized, they changed the meeting point twice without notifying. This is a place where there are hundreds of people looking for their tour. Nobody knew anything and the person who we were supposed to look for, had an orange umbrella that was closed laying on the floor. Who could see that among the crowd!!! We had to miss the other tour we had with them because my 8 year old son got violently sick, vomiting. They wanted me to go get a doctor's note in order to refund me. We are in a new city for 2 days in a foreign country and I was supposed to go look for a doctor for them to believe I got a sick child at the hotel. Absolutely ridiculous. They stopped answering my messages, no refund was issued. The four of us missed the tour and I notified them with plenty of time.... free money for them. We won't recommend this tour company to anyone. I wished I could leave a zero star review.
We booked in advanced a tour for alhambra with this travel agency. The day of the visit, Granada a pie informed us that they did not book our tickets to enter the alhambra ! (impossible to get in without those tickets if not booked in advance) It is supposed to be booked by them but in reality it is not. Be aware ! Not professionnal at all… and very disappointed (no other concrete solutions were proposed by them) If you want to be sure to have your tickets, avoid this travel agency and book on the official ticketing alhambra website.
Went with a guided tour. Alhambra is huge, and we felt like we were part of a herd of cattle. Tour guide really didn't allow us to stop to take pictures or go on a leisure walk to appreciate the palace. Would recommend doing this with a small private tour. Alhambra is worth visiting, and you could easily send 2 days exploring it.
Horrible Horrible experience!!! Our booking was for 9 am We arrived at 8.50 am, we verified with an official we were in the correct area. We looked for our guide (who we told would be holding an orange umbrella) , we never did see an orange umbrella. At 9 am we rang the tour company they did not answer. We repeatedly rang them over the next five minutes, finally the answered and told us that guide was running late , it was now 9.10 am at 9.15 am we rang the tour operator again , we told by the tour operator told to go to the Porto de Vino (15 minute walk from the main entrance) again no tour guide. I tried to call the tour operator however they refused to answer the call , as this point I did receive the tickets via text from the tour operator however had now missed our window for the Main palace. Appalling customer service they treated us with absolute contempt. Their English speaking skills are poor and twice we had to engage an Spanish speaker to translate for us. We have been on tours throughout the World, and this is without doubt the worst experience we have ever had. If you book with them do so at your own risk, We came to Granada from Australia specifically to visit the Alhambra and these opportunists profited financially and denied us a once in lifetime experience. I write this review hoping that others will not be duped as we were , there are many reputable tour operators, do your research , unfortunately I didn’t
We started the tour through the beautiful Gardena and although it was rainy, Edu made it worth visiting. The Nasrid Palaces are truly special and with his knowledge and enthousiasm it was a great experience!
Eduardo/Edu was a really excellent guide - he was so knowledgeable and was talking almost constantly for 3.5 hours! He took us on a walking tour which was not rushed, and spent plenty of time at each important site. The use of the headphones to have everything he was saying beamed to us clearly was super helpful. He had in-depth knowledge of the history, the Arabic language, and all of the stories of the sites. I really enjoyed the Nasrid Palaces most of all.
Tour originally booked for a cool and unbusy 8am, but moved the day before to 10am - this would have been fine, except we didn't reach the Nasrid palaces until after 12pm (the tour company had booked this entrance time), at which point they were extremely busy and social distancing was impossible. Our tour guide was audible and pleasant, but her commentary was very superficial, low on accurate history and laced with folktales. She was especially poor on Islamic art, which is bizarre, given the site.
When the regular tickets for La Alhambra were sold out, we were devastated — but then we booked with Granada a Pie for an after hours tour of the Nasrid Palaces and I’m so happy it worked out this way! There was almost no one in the palaces besides us, and our tour guide, Marta, made the tour so interesting and fun. She was so knowledgeable and told great, funny stories too. We are traveling in Spain for 2.5 weeks and I think this was our most favorite experience! Worth the money to splurge for a special tour.
Our tour was the Alhambra and Generalife Guided Tour in English (Granadavision) - it included pick up and drop off and the walking tour lasted 3 hours. Our group was a mix of English and Spanish speaking (about 25) with one guide. This meant that everything was explained in the headphones to you in 2 languages. The company did warn us about this, but we hadnt realised that it would be that disruptive an experience. A single language tour would be much better, as you would have more time to hear a single concise explanation and enjoy the scenery. It was also a bit painful that there was one person on the tour that kept asking the guide questions in spanish, and we kept hearing the conversation in spanish via our headphones. Personally I think going at your own pace with a self guided headphone option would have been a better experience.
Our guided tour of the Alhambra and Generalife was the highlight of our Andalusia trip. Our guide gave us valuable insights into the history and evolution of this magnificent palace along with many inside facts that made the visit truly memorable. We had booked our tour 2 months in advance online through Get Your Guide and were happy we did because we visited the Alhambra during peak tourist season featuring long queues which we could by-pass. The guide spoke both English & Spanish and was very helpful and informative.

Everyone will tell you that it is a must see. This was the sole purpose for our trip to Granada. No pictures can describe it or capture its beauty. You have to experience being in the palaces perched up on the hill to understand the beauty of what was built so many years ago. We had an excellent guide with great knowledge of the history of the Alhambra and her English was clear and understandable. This makes the tour just that more interesting when you are explained each room and the culture and traditions that went along with those times. ENJOY!!!

Complete tour of the Palaces. The guide Anna was knowledgeable, professional and understanding as we were traveling with a one year old infant who had ants in his pants.

I only booked a tour because of the difficulty of booking tickets for Alhambra by credit card from Australia, but was very glad in the end that I did do a tour. This place is enormous, and my visit was definitely enhanced by being in a group. The earphones were a pleasant surprise, as I have a hearing defect and audio tours usually don't work for me, but the quality technology meant that I could participate and hear the guide well. It is a long tour, but there is a break in the middle which was welcome. There are also quite a few places where you can sit down for a few minutes to ease your feet if necessary. There is however a lot of climbing up and down steps, and I dropped out just before the end not wishing to climb any more. Our guide spoke good English and was very enthusiastic and pleasant to be with. Definitely to be recommended.

FANTASTIC and MAJESTIC. The wonders of Islamic Architecture is marvilous. An absolute wonder. No need for the guides, just read about the place before you go.

Excellent, informative tour! Our guide maintained our interest with her knowledge of the Alhamra and expressive voice. We walked at a good pace for our group with a significant range of ages 30s to 70s and had ample opportunity for photos along the way. We also appreciated the mid-tour break with time to sit down and/or explore a bit on our own.

We were disappointed with the tour for the reason that one of our party of 4 lost her ticket at the start and was unable to complete the tour. The regulations were so strict about needing a ticket at each stage, that she was unable to get past the first visit and this was very, very disappointing for her and for us. The guide was apologetic but was unable to help in any way. So, our pleasure in being at the Alhambra was significantly affected by this great disappointment, that one of us wasn't able to be there to see it.

Despite the change in start time that was emailed to me the day before no wifi in apartment so I didn't see it , the tour itself was excellent and our guide was a local with immense and informative knowledge of the Alhambra. She also gave good tips for things to do after the tour which were spot on , simply a brilliant guide , it's just a shame I can't remember her name :

Warning, this provider practices OVERBOOKING. Reservation confirmed on September 13 for 3 adults for the full tour of the Alhambra. Upon our arrival in Granada (2 days before the scheduled visit), we were informed of a schedule reorganization by the provider. A new date was proposed to us, even though it coincides with our return flight. Then we learned that this provider did not obtain our tickets, even though they had been booked for over a month and paid for in full. We paid for two nights of accommodation in Granada only to have a last-minute cancellation due to overbooking and a lack of professionalism from this provider. I cannot give zero stars, but that is what it deserves.
Avoid at all costs! Reservation canceled the day before at 10:40 PM for a 12:00 PM visit to the Alhambra the next day.... They promise a refund that never arrives And they are unreachable
The Alhambra is a must in Granada, it is an impressive place, but the best part was how Antonio, our guide, immersed us in the history of the place, making the visit beautiful and very entertaining and educational.
A tremendous discovery of this magical place thanks to our guide Alberto Moreno who accompanied us for 4 hours to share his passion for his country, particularly the Alhambra.
A tour was booked in German for EUR 60 per person. Three days before the appointment, a confirmation was received again. Two days before the appointment, a cancellation was sent via WhatsApp, stating that my wife and I would be the only participants and offering a private tour for an additional payment of EUR 120 or a simple visitor ticket in exchange for a refund for the tour. We decided on the latter and received only half of the paid price back, thus paying EUR 30 per person for a simple ticket instead of the regular price of EUR 15. This was justified by stating that fees and commissions had been incurred. If there is a system behind this, it is a real money-making machine. Never again!
The visit has been excellent, due to the beauty of the Alhambra, because of it. In how organized it was and to a greater extent due to the excellent guide, Marta, who accompanied us on the visit. Marta has been a perfect example of knowledge, friendliness, and telling anecdotes perfectly related to each moment of the visit. A visit that you cannot miss.
We are 5 Canarians and we are delighted with the visit that our guide Ramón has given us. He has explained everything in detail and with a perfect pace to facilitate understanding. Fully recommended.
Visit cancelled the day before, refund never received — avoid! Booking for the guided tour of the Alhambra and the Nasrid palaces (ref. GYGWZAZ8XB62). The day before the visit, Granada a Pie informs us by email that the guide is cancelled. Yeah. But what they fail to make clear: the slot for the Nasrid palaces has been moved from 12:00 to 17:30, without our consent. As a result, we couldn’t organize ourselves in such a short time, we couldn’t access the Nasrid palaces. The agency promised a partial refund in its message. Several days later, nothing. Double harm: the uninsured guided tour, and the Nasrid palaces inaccessible because of a last minute unilateral change of schedule. You should absolutely avoid.
AN ABSOLUTE EMBARRASSMENT let us know 24h before the visit that they do not have tickets and that they do not know if they will, we made the reservation 1 month before. In the end they tell us that they do not have tickets and that we will not be able to make the visit. There are relatives who have come from latam for this. Wasting time and money and leaving without being able to see the monument because of these scoundrels. They give us no alternative and the worst part is that they leave us no room to look for it. No doubt don't waste your time with this mob, they're gonna rip you off.
Granada a Pie sells Alhambra tours for which they obviously do not have any secured tickets. If they are unable to obtain tickets for the time booked, the date is simply postponed unilaterally – without consulting customers. In our case, the tour was postponed by two hours from 1:00 p.m. by email, less than 1.5 hours before the original date. The entire group had already arrived, and most had not even received the message in time. When we contacted by phone to clarify the situation, we were greeted with unkindness and complete incomprehension. Instead of goodwill or even an apology, there was no accommodation whatsoever – neither an explanation nor an appropriate solution was offered. This approach is absolutely unacceptable: Anyone who sells tours for fixed time slots without actually having the corresponding tickets deliberately deceives their customers. Combined with an arrogant and unhelpful customer service, this is a company that is better not trusted with your money. Clear recommendation: Book Alhambra tickets exclusively directly through the official website and avoid third-party providers like this.
Today we toured the Alhambra with Cristian, a pleasure to have such a nice and professional guide. We recommend doing the tour with the
The full tour of the Alhambra with the Carmen guide has been very enjoyable and has made it very interesting. A very good experience that is definitely worth it
