We had a wonderful, well planned tour with our guide, Delfina! We thought she explained the history of this city and Spain over the past 1000 years very well. She astutely touched on the past and current political and religious realities. Of course, the area and views were quite beautiful. Highly recommended!

Itinerary
Meet your guide at Plaza Nueva, a popular meeting point. Plaza Nueva is surrounded by historic buildings and marks the gateway between the city center, the Albaicín, and the Alhambra.
One of the most picturesque streets in Granada, this cobbled path runs alongside the Darro River, offering beautiful views of ancient bridges, Moorish façades, and the Alhambra above.
These remarkably preserved 11th-century Arab baths offer a rare glimpse into Granada’s Islamic daily life. They are among the oldest and best-preserved in Spain.
A restored 14th-century Nasrid house, now home to the Albaicín Interpretation Center. Its traditional courtyard and architecture reflect the elegance of Moorish domestic life.
Scattered throughout the Albaicín, these ancient Moorish cisterns once stored fresh water for the neighborhood. They’re a reminder of the area’s sophisticated hydraulic systems.
Famous for its breathtaking panoramic views of the Alhambra, especially at sunset. A must-see stop, often accompanied by street musicians and local artists.
Granada’s traditional gypsy quarter, known for its white cave houses, flamenco culture, and sweeping views. It offers a unique blend of folklore, music, and history.

We met our guide (Lorena) at place nueva - it’s a big area but she was obvious as she stood with a big umbrella for us to find her. She took us all to a good spot to sit and listen as she introduced herself and shared history of the place before we set off. It was a great tour with frequent stops for us to see/listen to information about the history and culture of the area we were walking in. There was no mic/audio so she made sure we were all with her to hear what she was saying. It was a fascinating insight - she was welcoming and very knowledgable. We would not have appreciated the history and landmarks of the area we were in without her insight. She explained at the outset that it’s a free tour in the sense that at the end you decide what you want to pay but also explained that there are costs to the guides of giving the tours - it was hard to work out what was a fair price so I hope we gave a good amount for her.
Lorena was a fantastic guide. Friendly with lots of good information and history of Granada . I would recommend this tour for first time visitors to Granda.
I did this walking tour on the last day of my Granada trip, and I’m really glad I did. I had already seen many of the places, but the tour added the stories and context that helped connect everything together. Our guide, Marta, was energetic, cheerful, and patient, especially during the climb through the Albaicín. She showed us hidden corners and beautiful viewpoints, and shared interesting details about local life in the Albaicín and Sacromonte. I especially enjoyed the flamenco explanation and the little clapping and footwork demo. We also had time to visit a cave house and some free time at a viewpoint around sunset, which made the tour feel relaxed rather than rushed. Overall, a fun, informative, and very well-paced way to experience Granada.
Marta was an excellent guide with the right mix of education & entertainment. We learnt all about the religious history of Granada & the human history of A&S. Highly recommend.
Excellent tour with Ruben who was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide.
I was very lucky. This was a very special walking tour. It was a lovely evening and only 7 of us. Our guide was the lovely Fina. She was passionate about her city and had such great insight and information to share with us. I was able to become familiar with areas in the city that I had not found myself. The group decided to also enter a cave house. I highly recommend this tour.
Martha was a really good guide: she transmitted her passion for this inspiring neighborhood full of histtorry and traditions. She was brilliant at keeping the energy
Our guide Nacho was knowledgeable and interesting. He showed a deep understanding of Andalusian culture and heritage. The Albaicin and Sacromonte areas are fascinating and having a guide was essential to navigate around.
It was a great tour. Nacho was very knowledgeable and made the most of the tour considering it was raining most of the time. Got to learn about Granada from someone who loves the city's history and has lived in it his whole life. Definitely recommend it!
Ruben was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He explained the history of the area very clearly. The pace was good - not too slow! - but still allowing time to explore a little on our own - in particular the mosque garden and the cave-house. A five-star tour!
Excellent tour, Our guide really explained the history of Spain and how Granada was pivotal in conquesting the arabs from the peninsula. As you walk by the sites and see the history. I really got a true understanding.that i only partially knew before. Be prepared to walk up Sacramento area. Very good views at Mirador St. Nicholas.
An excellent tour with Nacho!
Ruben was our Tour Guide and he was so knowledgeable and personable. We learned so much about Granada and these two barrios. This tour was a super way to start our visit to Granada! Highly recommend 😊
A great experience with a huge amount of historical and local knowledge. The tour covered the history of the region to the present day
Our guide was very knowledgeable, I learned so much historical and cultural background. This now helps me as I continue with my visit in Granada, and even other parts of Spain. I also got ideas for other places to visit while I'm here, that I didn't know about before.
We met with our guide, Nacho, at the Plaza Neuva, as instructed and were joined by two other couples, for the English speaking tour. Nacho took us to areas we would never have found by ourselves, or would have been unsure about visiting, as they seemed pretty remote and very much "off grid". He was an excellent guide and we learned so much about the history of these fascinating areas, together with tucked away small squares, having quaint bars and restaurants, that were all that we hoped for. We'd certainly recommend this walk, it's a perfect introduction to the wonderful city of Granada.
Fantastic tour and very informative guide. History came alive as we walked through Albaicin and Sacromonte with our giude
Tour guide Ruben was excellent - definitely recommended! He packed a lot into 2 hours without us ever feeling rushed. Kids enjoyed it too.
Nacho did a great Job for us on this walking tour. He was knowledgeable and showed a good approach to his role. The Albaicín was interesting. Tour ran 2 hours 40 minutes, though you could leave after about 2 hours.
We had an excellent walk in Granada to Albaycin and Sacromonte with Ruben and I would recommend this experience to anyone.
Small group. Extensive local knowledge. Personable fun guide. Individual guide is paid by your tips.
Lorena was excellent. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide about two fascinating neighborhood's. Great tour! Well worth your time.
Brilliant and informative visit. Lorena kept a good pace, provided a lot of historical and current information and was quick to answer questions. One of the best walking yours I've done!
Our guide Fina was fantastic. She was very informed about the history and culture of the region, she explained things clearly and she had a good sense of humor. She kept the group safe as we walked narrow streets. Well paced walking suitable for most abilities even though this tour is uphill for the first half.
We took the Free Tour Albaicín y Sacromonte — English Tour with Walk in Granada. Claudia told some fascinating stories and led us to locations that we would have not found by ourselves including the best viewpoints of Granada and Alhambra and a home built into the caves in Sacromonte that we could enter for 1 Euro. The walk involved lots of climbs and downhills. Claudia also had fantastic suggestions for places to visit other than Alhambra and places to eat.
We did the Albaicín and Sacramento Free Tour with Ruben and it was fantastic. He is very knowledgeable and forthcoming, and we thoroughly enjoyed his low-key style and generous answers to questions .
Yolanda was the perfect guide, was well informed and shared many interesting facts about the city and its communities. The walk was perfectly paced to take account of the steep walks up through the two districts
Did the Albasyn and secremanto tour, was amazing Nacho the guide was great The tour focused on the other sides of Granada, and it was perfect
I've done the free walking tour through Sacromonte and Albaicin with the Guide Rocío, and it was the best free walking tour in a while! What I loved most, was that Rocío didn't only know a lot, but she's also a great story teller. This made it very easy to listen and also easy to remember the given information. Also she gave room to ask questions and she answered them all. Totally recommend this tour!
We did the free walking tour of Albaicin and Sacromonte. Ruben was a great tour guide and answered all our questions. Took us to make great view points of the Alhambra. Just be prepared for incline and stairs.
Very informative. Learned a little more about the history of the area and why things are as they are. Excellent free tour to take at 6pm the evening before going to the Alhambra. Tour is free but please tip at the end. Look for the Red Umbrella.
We did the Albaicín and Sacromonte Free Tour with Nacho. The tour was really interesting and I felt like we learned about a part of Granada's history that we would not have learned about otherwise.
Excellent tour with the guides Francisco and Rubén!! Very relaxed, no rush, well-informed, and fun. This tour is essential for anyone who wants to learn more about the city and its history, curiosities, and tourist attractions.
A highly recommended guided tour to understand how the city expanded little by little and with beautiful views of the old town. Our guide Marta was very attentive and explained the tour to us with enthusiasm and a desire to interact with the group. Thanks for your warmth Marta!
Very beautiful discovery of these two neighborhoods, which are very different from each other, with a passionate guide.
An experience that helps you get to know the city. Delfina was our guide, always very attentive to the attendees' questions, the explanation was very interesting and she had a broad command of the subject, I recommend it 100%.
The guide, Paco, was very professional and pleasant. Very good tour to get to know the essentials of the Albaicín and Sacromonte, and then get lost on your own.
Perfect, our guide was very good, excellent explanation, it was clear that she was prepared and she was always attentive to our questions and needs, we definitely recommend Delfina.
A recommended visit and that you are obliged to make and more if you have a good guide as was Paul who explained it with elegance and living the history.
My partner and I share the opinion that the best way to get to know Granada, its beauty, its history, its curiosities... is to get carried away and listen to Paco, one of the best guides we have been lucky enough to meet. Thank you very much Paco because what you do and in the way you do have made our trip much more complete and beautiful.
Ruben was prepared and available to answer all our questions. At the end of the tour he also gave us a lot of advice on what to do in the rest of our holiday. Super recommended!
The best guide, Paco. He knows so much about history but he does the tour in a pleasant and enjoyable way that does not get tedious with dates and names. On the contrary, Paco is a storyteller and those are etched in the heart! We liked it so much that we did two tours with Francisco de Paula (Paco). We'll miss him in other cities
Incredible and very extensive visit to corners of both neighborhoods that we would not have accessed or visited if we had not made this visit. The guide (Francisco de Paula) is one of the best I have found. Without a doubt, you must do this tour.
I took a guided tour in English and free. But my English being limited, I had to give up the tour quickly. That said, everything seemed super good. Too bad for me.
We had an unbeatable guide on our visit to the Albaicín and Sacromonte. Ruben gave us a lot of information in a pleasant way and made us spend the two and a half hours in a second. At the end of the tour we were also lucky enough to give us some tips on where to go for tapas or where to have a few drinks. Thank you!
