Hotel Balneario De Lanjaron

We only used the spa and didn't stay in the hotel. We have visited many spas and this, so far, is our favourite. Well organised in schedule and bookings and not overly full that you don't get a good experience. We were able to try everything on the circuit and never felt rushed or like we were waiting for anything. We all thoroughly enjoyed it.

For the price of the room, off peak, with breakfast. Its not bad. Add in the spa and now it gets odd. The room is nothing terrible, typical hotel, beds were springy but comfortable with nice pillows with the option to change with the spare in the wardrobe. I only stayed two nights, for two people, not bad. The breakfast. There isn't much variety, meat, bread, eggs, ceral. However the bread is fresh and I enjoyed it a fair bit. I am not by any means saying its amazing, but for the price I paid I am not here to complain. The woman work extremely hard to clear tables and they do with such a smile. Biggest issue is to those who enjoy coffee, it isn't fresh and tastes terrible. Was genuinely dissapointed. But the food is fine. I didn't experience the dinner but I imagine its about the same. Good but not great. Nothing you'd cry about but nothing you'd want to share either. The SPA. This is where it went south. For how much you pay and what you get you might as well throw your money away. Its a very expensive add on for just 60 minutes per day. I understand that if the spa was open to anyone it would just always be full, I get that. But for the average price of 45€ per hour I was pretty let down. The second day in the spa it was full despite the schedule. I had trouble using the facilities I wanted to use and by the time I could. Time ran out. I'd suggest stay at the hotel, add the breakfast, but leave it there and you'll be happy you did. The ambience. Now, I do not want to discrimate but this hotel was a retirement home. The activities, the food, the entertainment, the catering, it is all for the elderly. Take that how you wish. So, if you're in the local area for a few days it's a great place but I would advise anyone goes out there way to stay here. Make sure you have a busy day outside the hotel planned. Lanjaron is beautiful.

Thermal pools are NOT included, as contrary to their website. You can’t even use them after paying for a massage! It’s €34 each to just use the hot tub. We booked 3 nights and stayed one.

It is a very nice but dated hotel. Some cosmetic upgrades would be helpful. The spa was very nice. The soundproofing between rooms was not very good and the WiFi was non existent. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable.
