Hotel Bahia Tropical

Staff is great, reception, cleaning, waiters, safety guards at the pool - all super friendly and helpful. Location is near the beach and mountais- super cool. But I prefer more clean beach in 5 min walk from there. The rooms would need some small renewal, like Silikon replacement on the bathroom. The small ants live somewhere in the bathroom. Do not bother me, can scare someone else.

A decent and clean holiday hotel in a sheltered and interesting position 2 decent beaches very close by. A tiny bit isolated but if you are wanting to relax then that's fine. About 4 km in to Almuñécar with local bus only 1 euro ea( recommended) about every hour. Velilla is a slight walk and has most things atm supermarkets and cafes. Beach cafes nearby are lively especially chiringuito UHA ( recommended) which serves gorgeous food and is very atmospheric.

Amazing hotel 🙏 Just come back from 1 week staying at Hotel Bahia Tropical & we loved every minute. The hotel is big but they accommodate everyone. The breakfast everyday was huge, full of variety and all very tasty. The hotel is situated in the Velilla Taramay area of Almuñecár which is away from the main town (which we preferred as there were better beaches & chiringuitos nearer to the hotel in our opinion). Our room was very spacious and had it's own balcony overlooking the pool which was very nice too. Just wanted to thank the housekeeping team, pool guys , the lifeguards and bar team especially - who were very friendly and so helpful ☺️ Thank you! 🙏 We also loved the music in the bar every night & loved that it was Spanish songs!!!! For the love of God, it's so hard to go on holiday to Spain and avoid all of the English naff cr*p these days! So the Spanish musicians were veerrrry welcome. Please keep this!! We were lucky enough to also be there for the 25 year anniversary celebrations of the hotel and there was a big fiesta pool party which was great! 🎉 They also gave us a celebratory bottle of red wine in our room which was very much appreciated. If you are thinking of staying here just note that it's a 15 mins ride on the bus but the buses work perfectly (it's line 3 and the bus stop "Pozuelo" is literally round the corner from the hotel). The taxis here are non-exsistent and every time we tried to phone there was just too much confusion (even speaking in Spanish). The only way we could get one was by going to a taxi rank (but even then it's just by chance, they're not exactly lined up in a queue). So avoid taxis completely and stick with the bus system 👍 We couldn't fault the hotel honestly and we want to come back! 😄☀️🇪🇸 Love from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🩵

Immaculately clean... rooms spacious and modern. Plenty of power points. Every day the rooms cleaned to perfection. Floors mopped beds made pristine. 1st few days of our stay the food/ buffet was a bit disappointing. But then it totally changed. Fantastic. Breakfast 8 till 10 30am . Dinner 8pm till 10pm. Only down side i can say is this is the only hotel I have stayed in where you have to purchase your drinks at meal time. Even some 3 star hotels I have stayed in have had drinks available on tap at meal times. The pool and pool area are Fantastic. Entertainment throughout the day and evening too. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I hope to return again soon.
