I came here very last minute at the end of a two week holiday in Europe. I was only supposed to stay for one night but I ended up extending it for two. From an American perspective, it's a nice hotel/convention center establishment. The pool is small and a bit dirty but it has a great view. Everyone was friendly in the beds were very comfortable for someone with scoliosis. This would be considered a decent mid-tier hotel for any major city's downtown in the US.

This "5 star hotel" has serious issues: 1- no slippers, nor bath robes. When we requested them, the robes are old enough to stick fibers on your skin. 2- no pen (cannot fill out the laundry paper). 3- no shaving kit in the bathroom 4- toothpaste is missing from the dental kit. It was opened and taken. 5- the room doesnt have tissues, nor the bathroom. We requested some and they brought pocket tissues.. never refilled. 6- AC takes long time to cool down the room. (we're in October). 7- not all lights work in the room. 8- curtains are stiff and dont open and close smoothly. Like an abandoned home. 9- no kittle inside the room (cant heat up water for tea). 10- no espresso cups despite putting an espresso machine. Instead, they have big cheap mugs. 11- espresso machine must be taken out of the small shelf so i can use it. (The capsules lid cannot be opened). 12- they didnt bring towels during room service.. and took them 30 mins to bring them when we called. 13- room service doesnt include sweeping the floor from hair & food crumbs..??! 14- parking is extra charge..?! 15- no one to take our luggage to the room during check-in/check-out _______ I have been to 5-star hotels across the globe. This one is an absolute disappointment. It's almost a scam and it seems the Granada management are not taking care of this business. Maybe it's a dying branch..
Amazing hotel and amazing staff! We’d never travelled to Spain previously, but it has been a lovely first-time experience staying in Granada. The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly and very helpful. Overall, this hotel has definitely made our first experience in Spain a very special and memorable one, thank you!
Here’s a natural, detailed 5-star review that sounds like it came from a real guest: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing stay at Barceló Granada Congress and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Granada. The hotel is beautiful, exceptionally clean, and the rooms are spacious, modern, and very comfortable. Everything felt well-maintained, and it was clear the staff takes great pride in the property. One of our favorite parts was the breakfast. There was a huge variety of fresh, high-quality options, and it was the perfect way to start each day. Definitely worth adding if you’re staying here. The location was another huge plus. It’s within easy walking distance of the city center and many of Granada’s main attractions, and having a shopping mall right next door was incredibly convenient for anything we needed. Most importantly, every member of the staff was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our stay. They made us feel right at home from check-in to check-out. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We had a fantastic experience and will definitely be staying here again the next time we’re in Granada.
I only give three stars overall as the hotel was uncomfortably hot - 29° in the lobby according to their thermostat - and the little things were missing from the room, like no robes or slippers, no washcloths, only a small bottle of water for two guests, etc. The service was excellent and the whole place was spotless but we just didn't feel like it was delivering the 5-star level of comfort they're advertising. In a premium hotel one would expect that guest comfort would be paramount, but in the end we feel there are other, better, options available at that price point. At the very least you should be able to enjoy a drink at the bar without having to talk about how hot it is inside the building.
