Great experience to learn about chocolate in Belgium and especially in Ghents history. Tasted a variety of chocolate and candy from a large number of places. Cannot say enough good things about our guide! Very entertaining and funny, we loved this tour!

This tour is ideal for chocolate lovers. Nick walked us through Ghent telling great stories about the history of the town pointing out different sights along the road to different chocolate shops serving some of the best chocolate you’ll ever taste. Ideal tour as an introduction to Ghent with a wide selection of fantastic local chocolate.
We thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate tour. Tom did a great job blending history and chocolate tastings.
Valerie was a wonderful guide. Meeting spot instructions were clear and guide was easy to find. Tour was wonderful with many chocolate tastings. It felt personalized tour because of small setting. Highly recommend this tour,
Fantastic tour in Ghent led by Ruben. Learnt a lot of history and culture. Some nuggets that were local. And some lovely chocolate. What's not to like
Absolutely wonderful tour. Nick was very knowledgeable, funny and enjoyed his job. He loved chocolate as much as we do! It was great to go to local choclatier and not a commercial company. He really cared what we thought about the places we toured. We taated alot od chocolate! I would do this tour again!
This is a wonderful tour! The guide was so knowledgeable and fun. The number of tastes was very generous and delicious.
She was great, and you could see she was passionate about Ghent. Not only chocolate history but city history as well
Really good tour. Just the right length (short of three hours), just the right amount of chocolate! Local guide was sweet (haha) and comfortable speaking to the small group; clearly had good rapport with shop owners.
Charlie tours was an excellent guide. Lots of knowledge of the city plus of the history of chocolate.
My mother and I spent a wonderful morning on this tour. We were lucky enough to be the only booking(!) We learnt lots about Ghent and enjoyed our time spent with our guide tasting. We would thoroughly recommend it. I intend to take other chocolate lovers in my life when I return to Ghent! Thank you
What we thought was good tasting chocolate turned out to be the Starbucks of chocolate....normal and everywhere. By the time we got to the premium chocolate, our taste buds were amazed.
Nick was a fantastic and humorous guide on our way through chocolate in Ghent. He was very informative on the history of chocolate in Belgium and told us how to look for the correct chocolate makers. Not the tourist ones. Oh and the chocolate was delicious. My favorite was the balsamic and cream praline. We had plenty to taste
Great guide besides tastes of some wonderful chocolates we learned a lot about the history of Ghent. Highly recommend this tour
Nick was an excellent guide! He was engaging as well as highly knowledgeable about Belgian chocolate and Ghent history. He arranged a variety of chocolate styles and flavors creating a tour that provided something for everyone. We received a plethora of bonus info on “Belgian fries” (not French) and the best place to eat them, the local “steak,” and the historical competence of the Belgian army. We were very delighted with this tour!
My guide Nick was very friendly and knowledgeable! The tour itself was great and the chocolate was amazing each stop on the route better than the last. Nick mixed in history of the city on our walks between stops and even recommended if we have time to go into St. Bavo's Cathedral to do to VR tour of the painting of the Mystic Lamb which was not on my itinerary for my day trip but I was able to squeeze it in and it was an amazing recommendation.
Valerie’s chocolate tour was such a fun and delicious way to experience Ghent! She was warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about both her city and its chocolate. Extra kudos to her and Charlie Tours for braving Belgium’s hottest day of the year on record with us… all for the sake of chocolate! Despite the extraordinary heat, Valerie kept the experience engaging, informative, and wonderfully sweet. A memorable afternoon in Ghent!
Deter was very kind and provided a lot of information along with ghent culture and chocolate history. Recommend this tour to everyone!
Nick was superb! He had lots of nuggets of interesting info about the city. He was very thoughtful about my vegan friend. The chocolates were divine and so different! I would highly recommend.
This was a great way to get to know the city as Lemmie offered great stories of the history and development of Ghent, and the chocolate was delicious. Highly recommend.
I went on this walking tour with my family. We enjoyed it so much. We explored and tasted a variety of chocolates. We learned the history of some of the places. What I loved the most was the tastings. The combination of flavors was awesome. Afterwards I went back to one to purchase some. Best of all our guide was awesome.
Great combination of Ghent history and chocolates/sweets. Tour guide was great, especially patient with my talkative 7 year old.
We had an excellent experience. Nick took our family on our tour of Belgium, answering questions along the way and keeping things light and entertaining. We got to taste a variety of chocolates and candies throughout, from the very traditional and chain-store variety to locally hand made and eclectic. I’d 100% recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience both the city and its treats. It won’t disappoint.
Nick is very knowledgeable and passionate about his home town of Ghent. We visited many chocolate shops and learnt about the history of chocolate making in Belgium and in particular, Ghent. We really enjoyed the tour and would recommend to anyone.
Really enjoyed our tour. Guide was very personable, sharing lots of history of Ghent, background behind why Belgium is so famous for chocolate and stories behind each shop. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and recommend for a fun way to experience such a great city.
We truly enjoyed our chocolate tour despite the 96° weather. It was hot but our guide (last name van damme) found shade for us as best he could. He was very knowledgeable with the local history and chocolate making (he’s a local Ghent resident). The chocolate was amazing! We liked the small group format. Highly recommend this tour!!
Great tour with Dieter! It turned out I was the only person who’d signed up on a very hot day, so it turned into a private tour! I loved how many of the chocolates I sampled were in some way connected to the social and political history of Ghent. I got an introduction to the history and landmarks of Ghent and got to try a huge range of chocolates along the way, from traditional to the new and unique. Many of what I tried was award winning. It’s a lot of chocolate! My only regret was it was so hot out that I couldn’t have saved anything for later. Highly recommend!
Highly recommend this tour. Our guide Mandy was a delight and made it such a fun experience!!
This was a wonderful tour led by Matthias who was kind, funny and very knowledgeable. Included the history of Ghent (and Belgian chocolate) as we walked around town and sampled multiple very delicious chocolates! Thoroughly enjoyed!!
Great tour. The chocolate was delicious. Nick the tour guide was knowledgeable and a great personality. The best!
The guide presented a lot of local history - not only about chocolate-making - in a very entertaining way. We tasted 11 chocolates from 6 shops which were very good and very different from one another. My only negatives are that the bottled water supposedly included didn't appear, on a warm day when we needed it, and there was no chance to sit down during the two-hour tour. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this tour.
We toured with Nick from Charlie's tours. Nick did a great job as a guide and took us to many interesting places for chocolate and in the city. We loved all the places we toured! The only thing we didn't get to try were the fries, it would help in between all the sweet! We went back to the shops and bought Chocolate!
It was really a great tour! Loved the different chocolates and the candy shops! plus a little history of the town.
Wonderful! Very personal The guide was delightful and gave us interesting information and stories. The chocolates were delicious!!
Sarah was excellent with a great balance of chocolate and history. Highly recommend this tour. You won’t be disappointed
Tom was knowledgeable and made the tour fun as well as informative. The choice of chocolatiers was truly exceptional. The difference from the typical shops was clear after trying the best in Gent.
Visited numerous chocolate shops including artisanal one of a kind - top rated ones only found in Ghent. They were excellent! Nick was a great tour guide and yd us lots about the history of chocolate. I would suggest a few more minutes discussion about the history of Ghent on general and pointing out all the famous sites we passed just explaining them a bit more. But it was a lovely tour.
Fun tour learning about and tasting different chocolates while also learning more about Ghent. The tour guide was informative and entertaining.
This tour was a great way to learn more about Ghent and the chocolate was a bonus! Couldn’t believe how many we were able to try and such a fun variety of tasty options.
My tour with Nick this morning was wonderful! The chocolate and sweets were amazing, and Nick’s narration of historic and present-day Ghent helped me build a foundation for the rest of my time in this beautiful city. It was well worth the time and money. I highly recommend this tour!
Our guide was so sweet and helpful! Got history of the city on top of information about chocolate. Chocolate was amazing with a variety of flavors and candies.
Awesome and informative tour with Mandy. Loved the chocolate and brief history of Ghent. Great shops
Great chocolate tour. Very educational and our wives loved the different samples of chocolates provided from each store.
The chocolate tour was a delicious way of seeing the city. Nick, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable of not only chocolate but the city and its history. We even got into a closed candy shop with the guide's key. Highly recommend this tour on one of your first days in the city.
Great tour! Blended history through some short & interesting stories alongside some excellent chocolate stores. All the tastes were unique & memorable. Highly recommend! One of the best walking tours I've done this year. Tom was an excellent host & gave us great info & recommendations.
Nice tour to learn some history along with chocolate tasting! I know it's challenging to hit on more than a few locations, but, smaller pieces + more variety and backstory (including how they stack up against others locally, regionally and globally) would have enhanced the tour.
Lemmy was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. He brought us to different candy and chocolate stores and explained their background. We enjoyed various tastings although a few were too sweet for us. He also shared a few interesting stories about Ghent.
Tom was really nice and along with some lovely chocolate tastings he told us a lot about the history and culture of Ghent.
Very nice tour with some good tastings, and the guide was very knowledgeable I feel I would’ve liked to have seen some people making chocolate. I would’ve made the tour better for me.
Great time, great places visited. Well worth the cost. Not a lot of time to shop at the individual shops but we ended up going back later.
