Itinerary
Your city-licensed guide will meet you in beautiful Forsyth Park on the corner of Gaston and Whitaker Streets to begin your stroll throughout Savannah's Historic District. See the famous, gorgeous fountain, marvel at the Armstrong-Kessler Mansion and its statuary garden, take great group shots with amazing backdrops, and learn how the Romantic Movement spawned this glorious "must-see" urban forest and park!
You must-see all the stunning mansions and historic sights around this handsome square! Hear about "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" and how it impacted our city, see the only Gothic Revival synagogue in the U.S., learn about Savannah's connection to Count Pulaski, and so much more.
Soak in the street that locals and visitors alike deem the prettiest in town! Beautiful homes, ironwork, flowers, and moss-draped live oaks provide numerous photo opportunities. The history of Savannah grey brick, the "Savannah Stoop", and historic pavement are also awaiting discovery here. There's even dining and shopping options we will see on Jones Street as well!
You must see all the historic sights and marvelous buildings on Madison Square! We will seek out carriage stoops, gargoyles, an English knot garden, lapis-lazuli ornamentation, historic cannons, a British double-decker bus, and bookstore felines here among other treasures. Discover how this place witnessed the drama of the Civil War in days long past, to where our renown art school got started via a VW Beetle in modern times.
The Hamilton-Turner Mansion, Andrew Low House, Cathedral Basilica of St. John-the-Baptist, Flannery O'Connor--all are highlights of this square that we must see! But, there are details often missed here that we will discover as well...a Charleston single house, our favorite stone lions, a girl scout cookie stockpile, our best dive bar, and the place Joe Odom from "The Book" loved best for his wild parties.
You really must see the square that Savannah residents vote their favorite--a true charmer in all of its details and surprising stories! Just wait and see...

We took the tour on our first day after arriving in Savannah. Dee was very knowledgeable and personable. The tour was very informative and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend taking this tour early in your visit to get a good understanding of the city of Savannah.
Great Tour! Very informative and very well paced. Definitely a great foundation for getting to know Savannah.
Dee was a terrific, knowledgeable, friendly tour guide, and showed us so many interesting places on our two hour walking tour. It certainly could have been longer because Savannah is such a beautiful and interesting city. Dee explained a lot about the history and architecture and provenance of different buildings and statues. I highly recommend taking this tour!
Dee was very informative. Added a lot of little tidbits of knowledge. Highly recommend a morning tour - cooler temps then still have the rest of the day to walk around Savannah.
Wonderful way to see and learn the history of Savannah. Knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. Easily walkable.
Great experience. Dee was amazing. Loved his personality and spirit! Very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend.
Dee gave us a tremendous amount of history about the squares, buildings, and people of Savannah. It was so interesting and informative. He was very friendly and happily answered all of our questions along the way. We had originally booked our tour for 9am, but since there were torrential downpours, Dee called and moved us to the afternoon instead. That turned out to be perfect since it allowed us to explore this beautiful city under clear skies. We highly recommend booking a tour with Dee!
Dee was a friendly, funny and knowledgeable tour guide. His stories brought Savannahs history to life. We would definitely recommend this tour, and Dee, to anyone.

Amazing tour gave a great picture of Savannah and its recent history. Our tour guide was engaging and funny.
Our guide was excellent and super knowledgeable. Don’t ever visit Savannah and not take a walking tour because there’s so much history around you that makes the experience so much more enjoyable once you know it
Dee was a wonderful tour guide. We learned so much about Savannah’s history and the flow of the tour was perfect.
We booked a private tour (for 2 couples) with Dee this spring and had a fun and informative time. Dee tailored the tour to our interests (architecture, history) and gave us suggestions for other sites to visit, restaurants and shopping. Dee was friendly and funny and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Dee was also very prompt and responsive when making plans. We enthusiastically recommend him.
This was one of the best tours I have ever taken. It was a history learning experience on steroids. Exceptional in every way.

Our guide was very knowledgeable, professional, timely and efficient. He answered all of our questions and had a good sense of humor.
Dee was a great tour guide and had some interesting facts about the history of Savannah. He was very knowledgeable of the historic district and you can tell he loves Savannah. Dee also gave some great recommendations for coffee and restaurants as well. This group was small in numbers which makes for a more intimate tour and I was able to hear everything he said. Highly recommend!!
Our tour guide Dee did an excellent job showing us the highlights of Charleston - a beautiful, quaint southern city I would recommend everyone visits and hope they have a guide as knowledgeable as Dee, he did great job.
This was by far the best tour we had on this trip. Dee was very knowledgeable and kept our attention the entire two hours. I highly recommend this tour.
Dee was great! We really enjoyed his historical commentary. We learned a lot about Savannah that we wouldn’t have known otherwise. A very worthwhile experience.
Great information, just the right amount of time. The guide really showed how much he loved Savannah.
Very knowledgeable tour! Family of 4 - Our 12 yr old had trouble paying attention but our 14 yr old loved it. Really appreciated Dee’s efforts to keep us in the shade too.
We took our kids & grandkids, from out of town, on this history tour of Savannah to introduce them to the city. This was the 2nd time we’ve toured with Dee. He is knowledgeable about all things Savannah - history, art, culture, restaurants & loves to share stories of the old residents. I can’t imagine a better tour guide!
In about 2 hours, Dee provided us with an excellent orientation to the city layout, history , interesting buildings and squares. His presentation was well paced and peppered with great stories and good humor. He made helpful suggestions for other places to visit in and around Savannah and also for places to eat. We highly recommend this tour and Dee -especially if it’s your first visit Savannah. We also greatly prefer small group tours to be able to interact with the guide and not drag around with headphones and 20-30 other people.
Excellent tour. We learned a lot about Savannah and it helped us “set the stage” for the rest of our trip. We are a family with two older teenage boys and they were really interested in Dee’s stories and anecdotes too. It was great being in a small group as well - just eight of us total on this tour. Highly recommend.
Dee was informative and friendly. Two hours was just the right amount of time for the tour.
Perfect overview of historic Savannah with a native, y’all. Easy walk at a Southern pace. A great introduction to the city, its stories and its vibe!
D was our tour guide and he did a great job. Very knowledgable of the history of Savannah and he kept the tour very engaging. Total tour time was about 2:15 and we heard many interesting stories about Savannah's past and much of the tour was focused on the architecture of the area. We would definitely recommend this tour and this guide.

D was a great tour guide. He knew his history and relayed it to us in a meaningful way. At the same time, he was a lot of fun. This tour in mid March also saw good weather. Best time of year to visit Savannah
At a bargain price, Dee leads a heartfelt, intimate, authoritative and broad tour of Savannah's beautiful downtown community landmarks and development. He interacted seamlessly with all of the participants in our small group. A pleasant walk with a genial guide showcasing local history and architecture. Great!

Dee was very informative and the tour was well paced. That's for a great afternoon Dee.The Ky Dee!
It’s an easy, relaxing walk covering several important sites in Savannah. Guide was engaged and informative. I wouldn’t have minded covering more ground , possibly visiting the riverfront, but that may have been too much walking for some people.
Dee was a knowledgeable & friendly tour guide. His love for the city was clearly evident while he shared insights and fun historical “gems”. Highly recommend!!
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. It was a good experience.
Dee was a fantastic guide. He has a very pleasant personality and great knowledge of Savannah’s Historic district. The value of the tour was top shelf as Dee took his time and led us on a lovely walk on a beautiful Winter day.
Good tour and our guide was very knowledgeable about Savannah and it's history. We were lucky with the weather, warm but not too hot. It's a fair amount of walking but I'm 80 and had no problem. The pace is very reasonable.
