Kerry was an awesome tour guide! I learned a lot about Savannah that I don’t think I would’ve ever learned if not for this tour.

Our guide, Kerry, was knowledgeable and very entertaining. He took time and there was no rushing us from one square to the next. We learned so much more than what the history books told us. We love walking tours and this was one of the best. I would highly recommend this tour while enjoying the beautiful city of Savannah which is so rich with some pretty complicated history!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Kerry. He is a wealth of Savannah knowledge and his passion for the history of the city is obvious.
Our tour guide was informative & had some neat stories to tell...Fun tour w/ great history. Nice to see some of the local pubs & stop for drinks along the way! I would recommend this tour for small groups.
I like to ghost hunt but I also like obscure facts about the reality of the people who founded Savannah and what they lived through. If it wasn’t for my tour guide, Neil, I probably wouldn’t have learned what I learned about the inventor of the cotton gin or James Oglethorpe and friends.
Two hour walking tour that almost lasted three! Our guide Kerry was really knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the city especially the part that usually does not make it to the textbooks. Half the group has encouraged him to write a book himself ;) If you are interested about the (side) characters (mostly unknown) history, this is definitely for you.
This tour was the best of all the ghost tours on a Friday night! The entire tour was 1.5 miles and we hit at least 6 historic and “haunted” homes and landmarks. Our guide was very knowledgeable/funny and our group was so much smaller than the others so we could easily weave past the larger groups going past some of the more popular sights (the graveyard). Highly recommend!
The heat was no joke, but the tour was totally worth braving the weather for. Kerry did a fantastic job speaking and showing us all the sites during this tour. I highly recommend if you're in Savannah, GA. Thank you again Kerry!
Kerry did fantastic job and was very knowledgeable about the history. You can tell he truly has a passion for it!
Kerry's depth of knowledge and understanding of Savannah is amazing. No question stumped Kerry and getting the truth behind the plaques and official history was delicious.
Enjoyed the hidden history. Kerry was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The 10:30 start time made it possible to get to Savannah and find parking.
Great walking history tour of Savannah! We were the only people on a Wednesday morning so it was nice having a personal guide! Kerry was very informative and knowledgeable about the area.
Kerry was a phenomenal guide! A self-proclaimed history nerd, he has done the work of researching original letters written by founding members of the Savannah community. This tour provides history you won’t find on other tours. Kerry takes pride in offering interesting facts from Savannah’s early days, not just popular folklore frequently passed down to sell more tour tickets. His enthusiasm, kindness & humor permeate the entire experience. He was also excellent with communication leading up to the tour, and offers to help with directions to your next destination afterwards. Most certainly one of the best ways to spend a couple of hours in Savannah!
My husband and I both loved this tour. Kerry did a fantastic job telling us many little known historical facts about Savannah. This tour was my favorite of all the things that we did in our 4 days in Savannah.
Our guide, Kerry, was incredibly knowledgeable. The tour took us through several of Savannah's squares where we learned lesser known history about the area. Super informative, very engaging.
Our group college friends had a tour with Kerry. Simply jaw-dropping- the hidden history stories that Kerry shared blew us away. I cannot say enough good things about this your. It is a must-do! Will hope he writes a book!!
We took this tour with “Kerry”. Oh my goodness! If you want REAL AMERICAN HISTORY, not the inaccurate stories presented in placards around Savannah-please do this tour with Kerry. He has done years of researching the facts and will tell you the real stories which are so interesting! We were hanging on n every word. I highly recommend this tour with Kerry!
Kerry was incredible and had some very detailed stories about some lesser known historic figures. He also was quick to point out some lies that the city continues to tell. Would definitely recommend and may even take again when we come back!
The tour guide was very friendly and was able to answer all the questions our group had. The tour itself was interesting and full of information that only people who are really into history would be able to dig up. The people they have on their customer service line were equally as awesome and helpful. This is a great company.
The guide was great! Knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He shared tons of stories about early Savannah.
Kerry was very entertaining, informative and appears to love what he does. He was great at telling the gossipy history and interesting back story to Savannah. I took the morning tour and my only regret was that he was not available for an afternoon walking tour!
Excellent tour! We take a lot of walking tours and this was one of the very best. Kerry doesn’t so much tell you the history as he acts out the history. So engaging. You can easily take one of the other “standard” tours and then take this one for the rest of the story. So good.
Definitely book this walking tour!! Our guide was Kerry Grant & he was great!! His knowledge of Savannah history coupled with his personality made for a great time.
Kerry is truly passionate about Savannah and sharing the fruits of the research he and his business partners/friends enjoyed learning. This tour uncovers hidden gems that debunk our pubic school history lessons. We thoroughly enjoyed the information and Kerry’s energy.
Choosing a tour in Savannah can be overwhelming as there are SO many choices. I chose Mad Cat Curious Cats - Hidden History of Savannah walking tour with Kerry. It was the BEST TOUR I have ever been on. Kerry is super engaging and knowledgeable. He took us to many regions of the downtown historic district that other tours seem to cover, but then he went deeper. I was surprised and excited by all that I learned. Kerry was very considerate, polite, good at listening as well as at explaining and kept careful track of all of us. He was very open to questions. His excitement about history was infectious and delightful. When I return to Savannah, I will definitely use Mad Cat Tours again. I would like to take every tour Kerry gives. Fantastic! Five stars!
Loved the walking tour and hearing the history that you won't find taught in a typical history class! Kerry, our self proclaimed nerd guide, was very knowledgeable and engaging. I would recommend this tour to anyone who has visited Savannah before and wants to hear "the rest of the story".
Our tour guide was excellent! He had lots of interesting stories and anecdotes! He made it very interesting and spent the right amount of time on each topic.
Knowledgeable guide, interesting topics. Would definitely recommend this tour. Thanks Kerry for a great experience.
This is a great way to spend a couple hours seeing Savannah and learning a perspective on it’s history that is not the text book account you may be used to hearing. Kerry was highly knowledgeable, interesting, and entertaining. He is definitely earning his money. I have lived here for forty years and have walked right by many of the thing’s he seemed to immerse my interest in. Highly recommended.
Our Mad Cat History Tour was led by Kerry. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. After the tour you're left with a good understanding of Savannah and Georgia history, along with certain elements to consider such as the role of Native Americans, women, the enslaved, and General Pulaski. Really well worth the time and money !
This was such a great tour! Dust was super friendly, informative, and willing to answer all our questions! It was the perfect way to get familiar with Savannah - 10/10 would recommend!
Our tour guide Dust was a delight. She was entertaining , knowledgable and energetic . This was my first visit to Savanah, I learned so many interesting facts that left me wanting to know more. I look forward to more tours with Dust on my next visit!
Our tour guide was Dust and she was amazing. She was super flexible when we were a bit late and so personable. She shared some really interesting history that I don;t think we could have learned otherwise. Super fun and a perfect amount of walking!
Our tour guide was Patricio and he was great! Knowledgeable and had answers to my every question. Very friendly and and I could tell he’s passionate about history!
I really enjoyed learning interesting facts that I wouldn't hear from other tours. Kerry was very passionate about the facts he was telling us. We could tell he really loves history! Our tour only had 7 people which was nice; In big group sometimes it is hard to hear.
If you only have time for one tour in Savannah, make it the Curious Cat tour. Definitely bring some bug spray and wear your sunscreen. Terry was so knowledgeable and friendly. I cannot recommend him enough. He gave such a thorough and detailed behind the scenes history of Savannah that makes you feel like a local who’s in on all the secrets and historic gossip of the town. Terry answered all our questions (group of late 20 year olds) and made us all laugh. It was such a great experience, I might just come back and do the same tour again.
Our tour guide was amazing! He knew so much of the history of Savannah it made it so interesting. Would recommend this to anyone
Informative, entertaining, fun, sometimes funny and irreverent. We started out trip to Savannah with this Hidden History tour and we found a profound new appreciation for this beautiful city.
We started our vacation with the hidden history tour and immediately began to see this quirky city in a whole new way! Beautiful, scandalous, funny, fascinating, Savannah "Never stops giving," as our tour guide said!! Highly recommend this tour as your introduction to Savannah. We call this tour a must-do.
Had a great experience with Horizon as our guide. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and just a sweet person all around.
We thoroughly enjoyed a walking tour with owner Kerry Grant. He has personally researched historical documents on which to build his tour. We learned a great deal and received detailed answers to our questions. Kerry is passionte about history and that comes through in the amout of information he gives. We enjoyed his animated personality. We will request him for our next tour of Savannah. His company offers many types of tours. Look Him up at MadCat Tours!
Horizon is a great guide! Her love and enthusiasm of Savannah is only eclipsed by her knowledge. What I loved most about this tour is that it incorporated elements of history, architecture, and pop culture.
We’re a family of four and we went on this amazing tour with Horizon. She was engaging, knowledgeable, and absolutely enamored of this city. You want tour guides who love their work, and who are unflinchingly honest. She tells you the story of the city, not just facts on a walk. She is unafraid to tell you the true history as it was, she loves her city enough to make you love it too, flaws and all. It’s also great to have a tour guide who is aware of her tourists. It was a bit chilly this morning, she made sure we stopped in sunshine to keep us warm. She had puns for days, well timed along the way. She told us about local businesses that give you Savannah specific items, not just a generic Tee Shirt. She had suggestions for restaurants at every corner. Take these tours, use this company. We took another tour with the same company and Cricket was phenomenal as well. These are employees who do more than just their job. They walk you through the story of Savannah, and their love for this place is evident across all the tours with all the guides. You want that in a tour, hours fly by this way. Thank you, Horizon!
My husband and I had a great time walking with Horizon. She was fantastic and full of loads of information with unique facts and stories. Horizon really brought the past to life for us and we now have a better understanding of the times and people of early Savannah. Thank you Horizon for all your enthusiasm, quirky stories and love for the city! We thoroughly enjoyed you AND the tour !
We took a 10:30 AM walking to work with Horizon yesterday. It was such a delightful tour, we learned so much, and we felt much more connected with Savannah after. I think my favorite part of the tour was down by the river, when we talked about the cotton factors and the history of the cotton business in Savannah. Horizon was very knowledgeable and obviously interested in her work. We had a hard of hearing elderly person with us and she took extra care to make sure that he could hear her and get as much as possible out of the tour. I would highly recommend mad cat tours, and Horizon!
Excellent tour. very informative and detailed. Could have spent all day with Kerry as his knowledge seemed limitless and his presentation style was easy to listen to. He answered all our questions easily and was generous with his time and knowledge. would highly recommend his tour,
Kerry did a great job of providing us with some detailed insight into the history of many buildings and historical figures in Savannah. He was friendly, energetic and always open to questions. Pricing was very reasonable and we even got a discount code on the website to use . I would recommend the tour and may consider doing his ghost tour during a future visit .
I only had one full day in Savannah and the 'Curious Cat Morning History Tour' was the ideal introduction to Savannah. It wasn't too hot, thank goodness, and having the luxury of the tour to myself allowed us to sit in the shade during portions of the walk and talk. Guide Kerry was the consummate southern gentleman, giving articulate, witty and extremely gracious explanations for the historical events and monuments and answers to all my questions. We conveniently started and finished in lovely and serene Chippewa Square, with a handy cafe at the edge of the square to pop into pre or post-tour. We covered a lot of territory, even up (& down) to River Street so I got a good idea on how best to plan the remainder of my day. There are lots of walking tours advertised for Savannah, plus the Trolleys, but I'm glad I chose this company to really deliver what's promised and more! Check out their web-site for discounts when booking at their already very competitive prices and it's also stated that a portion of every ticket sold goes to the preservation and maintenance of Savannah's Historic District. That is real integrity and proof of dedication to showing off this quirky and magical city to newcomers in the most pleasant and charming manner! 'Mad Cat Tours' seem to be just that little different, as their innovative name demonstrates!
Kerry did a great job. It was only me and my wife due to the excessive heat, so he was very casual and customized the tour to our interests. He knows a ton about the city. We even had to take a short break because my wife broke her sandal, and he extended the tour a bit beyond the scheduled duration so we could do the full thing. Overall, good experience (despite the heat!).
This tour was one of the few tours that we took where my friend and I had a guide all to ourselves, which made it very comfortable to ask questions and receive prompt and well educated answers. The guide we had, Kerry, was a delight. He was not originally scheduled to be our guide, but was on time and prepared. You could tell how enthusiastic he was about the history. We had a great time on this walking tour.
