Spooky Savannah Haunted Bar Crawl

Very slow and more history than ghost stories..It was Halloween nite so we were expecting more ghostly information and sites...More than 1/2 the group left the tour and hour in...Just not as expected.

Good tour guide. Fun vibes, and good historical facts. Not too scary or creepy. Savannah is a cool city

Our tour guide was very kind, but the tour itself was less engaging than other ghost tours I’ve experienced. He seemed somewhat nonchalant throughout the tour and didn’t provide much depth or detail beyond information that could easily be found with a quick Google search. The tour was also advertised as a bar crawl, but we only stopped at two bars for about five minutes each, and neither stop seemed connected to the tour itself. Overall, I was hoping for a more engaging experience with more in-depth storytelling and a better-integrated bar crawl.

I enjoyed meeting the other people on the tour, but it was not very scary. The tour guide did a great job keeping everyone moving, but the bars were not anything special along the way.

We booked this hunted pub crawl as an activity for my bachelorette party. The girls and I had a blast! Hotrod Rick was an awesome tour guide! He kept us engaged, entertained, and was an all-round good time. I would definitely recommend this ghost tour to anyone looking for spooky fun!

Great fun was had by all. Easy fun night and wonderful company . . I recommend.the tour. The minimum word count posed by viator is the only problem.

I went on Spooky Savannah Ghost Tours and loved it. It was very interesting and informative. I really got a feel for the city and learned many fascinating stories and facts. The guide, Richard, was great! Highly recommend!

Super fun! Abby Normal made it a great time exploring Savannah. Perfect if you want to meet people and hang out.

Arriving to the 17hundred90 inn for the tour, more people than we expected were awaiting our guide - we expected the tour to be about 10-15 people and more than 30 were waiting. Our guide - whose name we don’t know because he was not overly engaging with the group and continued to pull from his vape as we walked along - provided abbreviated stories that weren’t that interesting, spooky, or historical. We were expecting a fun and historical bar crawl going into old pubs and hearing historically grounded stories that have ghostly stories from today. Instead we had a disheveled guide that took us to modern party bars. If looking for drunken revelry and some corny stories - would recommend. If looking for something more authentic and quality - do not.

I thought Rick was very knowledgeable. Would have loved it if it was a bit more spooky! The roof top bar and the last stop on the waterfront I felt did not really fit the tour.

Very fun experience. Interesting stories about Savannah and the historical buildings.

We had the best time! Different than other tours in Savannah and so much fun! We laughed, learned a lot, and enjoyed several cocktails along the way!

Rick was a great guide. Had a small group and was not rushed. Rick knew so much about the history of the area and was very informative and made it fun..spooky too. We went to bars I would not have thought we would go to so that was different. Good amount of time to have beverages and enjoy the scene while Rick provides fun commentary at each bar. I especially enjoyed the speakeasy type bar at the end...a hidden gem for sure. Thanks again for a fun tour.

The guide was very disheveled and during the whole experience, he was puffing on a vape pen and blowing it everywhere. He kept on messing upall the stories and just was not well prepared. We actually left early.

Its been 15 years since my last Savannah ghost tour, which I remember being absolutely amazing. Unfortunately this one did not live up to my expectations. The stories were fun and our guide did tell them well, but he was very disorganized at the beginning, seeming unsure of where we were meeting or how to check people in. He spent a lot of time looking for photos to show us on his phone, rather than having them ready to go. The group we were with was huge and we kept getting stuck separated at crosswalks which detracted from the tour experience as well.

Penny was really good at sharing her experiences and knowledge of the area. We had a great time and would recommend booking with her

We had the BEST time on our ghost pub crawl thanks to Penny Dreadful! She was incredibly knowledgeable with what felt like endless stories, but what really set her apart was how fun and engaging she made the entire experience. She kept the group laughing, entertained and fully immersed all night long. Fair warning if you’re not into cursing or dark humor, she may not be your style but for us, she was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend this tour!

The tour itself was fine, but it was much too big of a group. At 29 people, the tour was unwieldy and disconnected (no real fault of the guide).

I was actually very disappointed this time around. This was my second time doing a Haunted Pub crawl in Savannah and the first time was definitely much better. Our tour guide this time was adorable and so sweet. She definitely knew her stuff and was a great story teller. However, we ended up being in a huge group of 30 people and the third “bar” we were taken to was more of a club… which we hated. We are grown adults and felt very out of place. We also were a little disappointed with the haunted stops. They were more just haunted squares when before we were taken to different hotels and stops that we could actually experience things and get to walk around close by or inside. It took a long to get going.. we didn’t start the tour until after 8 when it was supposed to start at 7:30. Overall, we had a decent time until we were taken to the club but we would not do it again.

Information was good but story telling not the best. Tour guide didn’t seem confident in her decision making. Asked a mixed group of people what they wanted to do.

Guide was walking too fast, j walking across streets in the dark, thought the bars we were to visit were haunted.. not…Not very ghostly tour like I expected

I wouldn’t consider it a lot of walking or a bar crawl. It was a tour around the downtown area highlighting some key spots, and some of those locations happened to be a bar. Our guide was great! It was a good mix of history and ghost stories with bathroom and refreshment opportunities. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend!

Phoenix McCreadie was friendly and had lots of knowledge about the city and it's history. He was very accomodating and answered all of our questions. Excellent tour guide all around!

We were a smaller group of 12 and we had time to relax at each spot. The tour was lovely and we enjoyed walking around listening to ghost stories. Johnny was a joy to listen to and made the group feel like we were drinking with friends! 10/10 would recommend for a night of fun around Savannah.

Our guide, Joe, arrived and appeared under the influence of something. His stories were not very interesting and he often forgot where he was going with his story. He interacted with the employees of the bars more than with us.

While we were at the destination it was really cold, so this being an outside activity, we wished we could have been inside the pubs rather than outside while the guide was talking. We ending up not completing the tour and left. We also found the tour guide not too entertaining right from the beginning.

Terrible, the guide wanted you only talk to two people and he took us to the worst pubs In Savannah. The pubs were closer to frat house pubs than haunted pubs. I wouldn't pay to go on this or any tour from thos company ever again. Waste of time and money. Way better tours to go on than this one

Was below average, didn't see anything or hear anything that I could have seen and heard on my own. We were hoping the ticket would allow us to see, hear, learn, and laugh more than if we didn't but a ticket.

Phantom Phoenix was fun and engaging. A fun tour for those that want something more interactive than just a bus tour. It’s mostly stores and pub stops around Savannah, but it was enjoyable and informative!

Our tour guide was very nice and friendly. However, there was only one ghost story to at he told about. Most of the tour involved our tour guide just chatting with us in different spots around Savannah. There was not a lot of story telling or ghost stories on our tour at all.

Hoodoo Joe was a lot of fun and the information was super interesting. We learned a lot about the spooky history of Savannah. Highly recommended.

We had an absolute blast on the Spooky Savannah Haunted Pub Crawl! The tour kicked off at the historic 1790—hoping to grab a meal there before we leave because the place is incredible and the food looked and smelled delicious! Hoodoo Joe was our guide, and he made the night with his mix of deep Savannah ghost lore and perfectly timed dad jokes. The pubs along the way were fun, lively, and added to the whole spooky vibe. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Savannah. Tons of laughs, a little history, a few chills, and a great night out! 👻🍻

Penny Dreadful was a master storyteller. Every stop kept us captivated! Bar stops were also great and timed well. My third Savannah ghost tour…different than others I’ve done, but maybe my fave.

Good tour. On Halloween, so it was a little busy. Madame red was very entertaining. The drinks were decently priced. We had a good time.

A ghost tour that skips the cemetery on Halloween, shows you 4 pictures on a tablet and you skip the first bar and the guide seemed more concerned about going to the bars she frequents and the second to last bar half the tour couldn't find the guide, weren't happy and waited outside. After 15 minutes we left after no one knew where the guide went. We passed many other tours that seemed more enjoyable. Wish we would have booked with them.

This was well worth the time and $$. It was so fun! And Madam Redrum was awesome! Great experience!!

Unfortunately, this didn't work out so well for our group. Right off the bat I was surprised at how many people were in the group. I would say there were probably 30ish people, which felt like too many. The tour guide was unable to speak loud enough for everyone to hear. The stories were not very well told, and not spooky at all. (We were expecting some spookiness if not scariness and got neither, really.) We also only went to two pubs, including the one where we started - definitely not what we were hoping for in that regard as well. Our tour guide started off engaged *and* engaging, but then began having people from the group to tell their own ghost stories, none of which had anything to do with Savannah. At one point, most of the group left, and our group of 5 ended up leaving as well. Hopefully it was just a fluke, as so many of the reviews are positive, but it did not work out for us. Unfortunate as we were only in town for a few days, and our time would have been better spent elsewhere.

We had a very fun ghostly pub crawl with Madam Redrum. She has a great personality and will make your tour fun and entertaining. I highly recommend this tour if you like pub crawls!
