Spooky Savannah Ghost Walk: Stories, Spirits, And Signals

It was terrible! The guide seemed lost, we were just sort of walking around aimlessly while he talked so low no one could hear him. We learned nothing about Savannah! We got so frustrated, we actually parted ways with the group mid-tour. Don't waste your time or money! The guide seemed like a nice guy, but the tour was not informative or spooky at all. Not what we were expecting, especially on Halloween..

First and foremost, Richard was an absolutely FANTASTIC guide! He was incredibly engaging and very well informed. He easily matched the pace of the group and did a wonderful job sharing interesting facts while also sharing his personal experiences. I would highly recommend this tour and, if possible, Richard to anyone!!

Rick was an excellent guide. He was quite knowledgeable on our tour. If there is something he did not know the answer to he told us that he was not sure instead of just telling us something. He was funny. He was entertaining and he was the nicest person I met in Savannah.

Albert was out guide and he was fantastic. He was knowledgeable and was more than happy to answer any questions we had. If you’re doing this tour you should request Albert.

A great tour with Hot Rod Rick!

This is named the spooky Savannah haunted history tour but our tour guide, Hot Rod Rick, provided subpar stories that typically were cut short to discuss what he THOUGHT happened, or to tell things he had heard. He told us that it was more of a history tour than a spooky one, which is not the description that is presented when booked. We did a spooky bar crawl and they ended up telling us about the same place that we visited last on this tour and the stories were very different. The length and detail in the stories were also varied incredibly. I asked our guide for the bar crawl about the records said that theirs are backed by actual reports and are considered completely factual. He ended our tour by telling us a vulgar person story that had no relevance to what we were talking about and left us all uncomfortable. At some point someone in our group told us that they looked at his id badge and it said his license was expired. I’m not one to ever leave a negative review but this experience was incredibly disappointing.

We decided to do this tour because it offered an option during the day. We were warned that some of the ghost tours elaborate the truth and are more about theatrics. I liked that this was considered a historic, ghost tour. Maddy was our guide, and she did a great job. She was enthusiastic with her story telling. She shared historical information on Savannah, and threw in the ghost stories that went along with the different locations on the walking tour. Some of the content of the stories was not PG, but Maddy did a great job making it kid friendly. I would recommend this walking tour to anyone. It was a great way to see the city, learn about the history and haunted locations in historic Savannah.

Super interesting! Our guide was great! She was animated and engaging! We will do it again next time we are back. Definitely recommend

We, along with some friends from out of town, booked the “Spooky Haunted History Tour” recently. Hot Rod Rick was our guide. Nice guy and very personable, but the tour itself was average at best. We did learn some interesting history facts but the “spooky” part didn’t really materialize until more than halfway through the tour when another guest actually asked about ghosts (and their stories) at the first house we actually got close to. Our guide did a lot of pointing in the direction of other houses and buildings from afar. Can’t complain too much as it was a lovely crisp fall evening and the price of the tour wasn’t outlandish. However, it really could have been so much better…and spookier. Take it from someone who’s lived in both St. Augustine, Fla., and Charleston, S.C.—both towns full of history, ghost stories and quality tours.

Lazarus is an excellent tour guide. Lazarus has a great deal of local knowledge. We were also able to visit unique places

Definitely not a "ghost" tour as Trip Advisor had presented it to us. More of a fun take on the darker side of Savannah history.

Our grandson had a wonderful time. He learned a lot about Savannah and it’s past. Spooky Steve did a wonderful job and kept us very entertained.

Spooky Steve kept us entertained the whole time. It was raining buckets and we didn’t even care! He had the knowledge and charisma to keep us distracted from the puddles and raindrops. This walking tour is a must do while visiting Savannah. 10/10 would recommend. Can’t wait to do his pub crawl!

Steve was AWESOME, funny guy who could make watching paint dry seem fun. I went with my family and it was just us and Steve on the tour. We went around Savannah for about an hour and 45 minutes and it was pretty fun. I would definitely have to go again sometime. Steve, you're awesome man!

Not as expected. Shared info I had read o line. Interesting but unusual delivery. Pleasant enough fellow but I expected more relative indepth stories as it was advertised as a history. Tour as well.

Spooky Steve was fantastic and kept us interested the entire time with cool historic facts and spooky locations. He kept it entertaining with funny remarks and jokes throughout.

Not only does he give a wealth of historical information about the City of Savannah, but he nonstop ties it in to why the city is the most haunted of them all. I learned about boo hags and how the term saved by the bell got it’s name. I liked how spooky Steve was creepy AND funny. When I come back to Savannah I want to do the pub crawl with spooky Steve.

My family of four (me, my hubby, 14 & 16 yr old kids) recently celebrated my 49th birthday last week with Spooky Steve's day time Haunted History Walking Tour. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE STORY-TELLER! Steve is very passionate about Savannah and it's history- he is very animated and kept everyone involved and interested. When I booked the tour, I mentioned it was my birthday and he brought me cupcakes with candles! I highly recommend this tour! Great for kids, teens, and adults alike! If you do ONE THING in Savannah, be sure to spend an afternoon or evening with Steve!

Spooky Steve was a great guide! When we called to book the tour, he spent a lot of time giving my husband and I hotel and food recommendations. He was very lively and informative on the tour. He went above and beyond. The other group canceled, so he gave us extra time and took us to places that he normally doesn’t take this tour. A ghost tour is a must and we would have gone at night if not for the cold and kids :) Steve is a great tour guide, super quirky and the voice he uses is perfect for the tour. "You know you're walking over dead people". I didn't realize Savannah is basically one massive graveyard so everywhere you walk there are bones under you. Lots of cool old facts and history you don't get on the trolley tours. Walk with Steve you wont regret it.

Listen, we got our money's worth just by calling to book this thing! We called from PA to book a month in advance and Spooky Steve answered himself and spent almost an hour on the phone with us just giving information about Savannah and recommendations for other things to also do. He's a great Guy, Guide, and Ghost hunter. Great fun from start to finish... he even spent more time than advertised! Do Not leave Savannah before doing this personalized and fun tour! Spooky Steve was by far my favorite part of visiting savanna this year. My girlfriend and I came down for her birthday weekend and she had taken a tour in the past before with Spooky Steve. As from what I was told he did not disappoint and was very into the historical facts and stories he was preaching as if he had lived to see these horrific tragedies himself. We took our 16 year old daughter on a haunted ghost tour with spooky Steve. It was a great time!! We enjoyed every minute. We got lots of photos of orbs and also at one of the cemeteries our daughter/we were able to communicate with one of the ghosts/spirits through a device that spooky Steve has. Steve made the tour so much fun and you can tell he really loves what he does. I love his great sense of humor and personality. It was a great experience that we won’t soon forget. We have been to around 5 or 6 different tours in Savannah by different companies. They all take you to the same places and you hear all the same stuff. Spooky Steve takes you to different places around the city. If you are looking for the best haunted ghost tour; take one with Spooky Steve.

Spooky Steve is the best! He tells awesome stories and gives you a great background on Savannah’s haunted history. We visited 3 fantastic bars and multiple sites in between over the course of about three hours (the tour ran a little over which was cool!) I really cannot day enough good things about the tour, it is definitely money well spent. Thank you Spooky Steve for a great experience!!

Spooky Steve was AMAZING! We were skeptical about committing to a tour, but Steve made the evening fantastic tonight. He is personable and has great knowledge of the city. Steve was AMAZING! We have done other ghost tours/ bar crawl in Savannah and this is by far the BEST! Steve took his time touring us around the city and also allowed us time to enjoy each drink at our stops! We didn’t feel rushed and could tell Steve really loved what he did. Our trip to Savannah was made even more special by booking a haunted pub crawl tour with the legendary guide, Spooky Steve. That night we heard stories about Old Savannah that would raise goosebumps and Steve knew all the history that went with it. We stopped at several bars to refuel and one bar was a Roaring Twenties speakeasy. The entire crowd interacted with Spooky Steve and by the end of the night, he had given us all funny nicknames...lol. If I could give this tour 10 gold stars, I would...it was simply amazing! We did this tour in March 2019 over spring break with our 7 and 9 year old. Spooky Steve was so fun, he kept the kids entertained for the entire 2 hours, they were even quiet because they wanted to hear every word he said, and my daughter wouldn't leave his side the entire tour. Interesting history and scary stories without being overwhelming for kids (and he checked in with the families on the tour from time to time to make sure it was age appropriate). We've been home for 2 weeks and my kids still randomly bring up things Spooky Steve said and mention Savannah lore. Highly recommend!

We decided to do the Haunted History Tour with Spooky Steve (daytime) while visiting Savannah for New Years. It was amazing, we learned so much haunted history about Savannah and really enjoyed Spooky Steve! We ended up being the only two on the tour since there was a threat rain and everyone else in the group reschedule. This worked out to advantage. It was like having a private haunted tour around Historic Savannah. There is A LOT of walking, so wear comfortable shoes. The tour last about 2 hours but doesn't seem as a long since we were having so much fun. I would recommend Spooky Steve to anyone wanting to learn and enjoy the haunted side of Savannah. We plan to take the Pub Crawl tour on our next visit with Spooky Steve!

We originally pre-booked the pub crawl-style of ghost tour, however the weather was looking bad and he offered us many solutions in lieu of that night. Driving from Florida for this tour, this "flexibility" was the first sign of a good dude with a respectable business sense. We ended up securing the afternoon Haunted History Tour here in Savannah and it was WAY beyond my (and the others') expectations! Spooky Steve is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but he's funny, "scary" at times, but most of all just so very personable. Whenever a question was asked (prematurely on my end...read on) he would simply say "I'll get to that soon" or even elaborate slightly on the spot. This happened like 5 times because I was getting too excited, but once I shut my mouth and let Spooky Steve educate/entertain...it was worth it. He knew more about the area/ghosts/spirits/history etc. than anyone I have met on an educational tour - and again, he presents this information in such a fun way. It was never rushed and he even asked to wait and stay until our Uber's arrived before he would leave himself. Five stars isn't enough to rate my experience with this tour and Spooky Steve. Thank you again, brother. It was something I'll never forget! Keep on pushing for that television show! (He's already been on television and he showed us a sweet clip!) If anyone has the credibility/personality for an awesome gig like that it's 100% you. But when you get "too big and popular", don't forget us little dudes that we're here in the beginning! Haha.
