I had such a wonderful time on the Southern Traditions Food Tour with Flavors Food Tours! Even as a Savannah local, I loved getting to experience the city from a different perspective while enjoying some delicious Southern cuisine. Our tour started at The Public Kitchen & Bar, where we enjoyed shrimp and grits, followed by a stop at the iconic Six Pence Pub for a drink. From there, we strolled through Savannah's beautiful historic squares while our knowledgeable guide shared fascinating stories about the city's history, architecture, and unique charm. Next, we visited Belford's Savannah Seafood & Steaks, where we enjoyed fried green tomatoes, blue crab soup, and a cocktail. We finished the tour on a sweet note with ice cream from Savannah's Candy Kitchen! I especially loved how the tour combined delicious food with Savannah's rich history. It wasn't just about visiting restaurants; it was about learning more about the city and the stories that make it so special. The portions were generous, the stops were well planned, and the entire experience was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon exploring Savannah. Whether you're visiting for the first time or have lived here for years, I highly recommend Flavors Food Tours! Come hungry, bring your walking shoes, and get ready to experience Savannah one delicious bite at a time!

Matthew was great! The combination of history and great food was perfect. We’ve done other food tours. This was by far our favorite. Thanks!
Lots of history, perfect amount of walking. Marcie was fun, very friendly & knowledgable! My sister & I would love to have help remembering the restaurants we visited…all so good & delicious!
Jessica was a wonderful guide! We had a great group and made some new friends too. All of the food was amazing!
Wonderful welcome to Savannah on our first afternoon/ evening. An introduction to the culture, history and cuisine to set us on the right path to explore. We returned to one of the restaurants we were introduced to and the staff welcomed us back! Highly recommend this tour.
We had a great late afternoon tour with Caeli. She pointed out historical things to us as we walked to our destinations. We were able to try fried green tomatoes, calamari, she crab soup, shrimp and grits, and ice cream. All was delicious! It was a great way to learn about the local cuisine.
We had so much fun with our tour guide, Cathy. She was very knowledgeable on Savannah's history but also kept it entertaining. The temperature was over 100 that day and she did a good job at keeping us hydrated and in the shade. The food was amazing, of course. I would highly recommend this tour and Cathy.
We were so pleased to tour with Caeli and it was amazing that we had a private tour. Caeli is passionate about her tours and we learned a lot about Savannah history and SCAD. Our food stops were great- a drink at a pub, excellent she- crab soup, bread, fried green tomatoes and calamari ( we are not oyster fans so she substituted that for us ), delicious shrimp and grits and ice cream to top it all off ( and fill in the cracks)! We had a great time and do recommend this tour and Caeli.
This food tour was amazing! We enjoyed the way they did the food with a break in between because you get a lot of food! Everything was absolutely delicious and we were surprised that one stop we got an alcoholic beverage (or mocktail). We appreciated the tour around Savanah where our guide, Rebecca, informed us of various historical facts and stories as well as food history at each restaurant. We ended up being the only couple after another couple had to cancel. We appreciate that this tour company kept our reservation as we had an experience with a different tour company that canceled on us last minute for not having enough people signed up. We highly recommend this tour, tour company, and guide (Rebecca). It is definitely worth the value. Don’t underestimate how full you will be!
Jessica was our amazing tour guide. She gave us some history of Savannah as we made our way to the different restaurants. Our tour went seamlessly! Service was prompt and the food was outstanding. We had a sampling from 4 different restaurants/ eateries. Jessica was friendly, informative, and made us feel welcomed and valued. We liked hearing the history of the restaurants where we stopped, too. This is a terrific tour we highly recommend.
We do a walking food tour now in every new city that we visit. This one is a great progressive dinner (not just small bites) with lots of historical insights along your 2-mile route. Cathy is a wonderful tour guide.
The food was good, but expected more food forward and faster paced to food less talking. Nice experience but not the expectation. The shrimp and grits spectacular!
This was a DELICIOUS and INFORMATIVE tour given by Jessica. She was AMAZING and took us to the best restaurants where we had large servings of each item. Well worth the price especially since it came from Jessica with other recommendations for us to go to
Was a great time. Bridget was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. The food was good too!
Me and my mom came to Savannah for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed this food tour. Bridget was very well versed on the history of the city and the entire experience was very smooth. We appreciated the small group size and enjoyed everyone's company thoroughly. The weather was gorgeous and it was absolutely worth the price. Couldn't recommend enough!
Great experience strolling the Historic district, sampling interesting taste treats, all while being regaled with stories of Savannah's past. If you can only do one tour, this would be the one to choose.
Unfortunately we didn’t get to go. My friend had a fall an hour before our scheduled tour. I notified. Bridget, I think it was…,that we wouldn’t make it. Memorial Hospital did a good job for my friend, but it was a poor substitute for the tour we were looking forward to.
Bridget was an excellent host with lots of good historical information. Food at all stops was very good.
Not as promised. 4 stops, not 5- no crabcakes. We informed them at booking (weeks in advance) that we were had a non drinke in our party, they took us to a pub with only one mocktail option, which demonstrates the overall lack of care or concern we experiences. We were the only two people on the tour, so it wasn’t like they had a lot of people to accommodate. Save your money and go elsewhere.
An outstanding food tour - fun, very walkable, awesome restaurant/food choices, interesting history along the way with one of the best guides we have ever had!
Bridget was excellent. Very knowledgeable and informative. She was also very delightful. She was also very kind. I have nothing more to adf.
Our guide, Bridget was knowledgeable about the area and the delicious foods. The shrimp and grits and she crab soup were highlights of the experience. Well worth it!
Michael was fantastic. Informative tour and great food
It was great! Jessica was awesome! The stops she chose were perfect and the shrimp and grits were our favorite!
It was fine. Our tour guide shared with us what was in the manual. She was kind and gracious. I have been on food tours where the guide was passionate about the area and the food. I walked away with love of the food and area this tour was fine but not amazing.
Loved our experience on the Southern Traditions Food Tour with our wonderful guide, Bridget. We definitely learned and partook of great southern foods and some of the history behind them, in unique settings with their own stories to tell. Bridget was a wonderful host on our first day in Savannah. During our walks to multiple restaurants she taught us some of the history and architecture unique to Savannah. We went to our hotel with happy hearts and satisfied bellies!
This was a great tour that included a lot of history, as well as some wonderful food. Michael was an outstanding guide, wonderful personality, great knowledge of the area, and made the tour quite enjoyable
This was the worst food tour I have been on and the most expensive. At each stop it was obvious that the restaurant wasn’t prepared for us. Stop 1 - each “couple” actually split a bowl of shrimp and grits - one plate - 2 spoons. Stop 2 was at a bar - we were able to choose between a beer or wine - place so crowded our guide asked us to wait outside while she ran in to get our drinks for the road. Stop 3 restaurant was so crowded we sat at the bar as a group and the food we were supposed to get wasn’t on the menu.. Stop 4 was ice cream. I believe i was served about $35-40 worth of food and drink and psi $122. Will not book from this company again
Lovely food, great history and excellent story telling. We enjoyed our experience with Michael and would recommend this tour. The shrimp and grits was absolutely delicious and I want to visit Savannah again just to have another bowl of She-crab soup.
Brittany was very knowledgeable about the origin of each dish, the history of the buildings of the restaurants, and others as we walked to the next stop. The food was delicious. Can't wait to tell my friends and take the lunch tour.
We had a wonderful afternoon with Michael. He is incredibly knowledgeable about Savannah and we both learned things that we did not know. We had amazing shrimp and grits at The Public. We would recommend this tour.
Our Southern Traditions Dinner Tour in Savannah on December 22, 2025, was nothing short of spectacular and easily one of the highlights of our time in the city. From start to finish, the evening was a perfect blend of incredible food, rich history, and warm Southern hospitality. Our tour guide, Cathy, truly made the experience shine. She was exceptionally knowledgeable—not just about the food and the four restaurants we visited, but also about the fascinating history of Savannah’s historic district. Her storytelling brought the city to life as we strolled between stops, and her personable, welcoming nature made everyone feel instantly at ease. It felt less like a tour and more like spending the evening with a well-informed local friend who genuinely loves Savannah. Each restaurant offered something unique and delicious, showcasing classic Southern flavors done right. That said, the clear standout for us was the shrimp and grits at Gryphon—hands down some of the best we’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, rich, comforting, and absolutely unforgettable. This tour is a must-do for anyone visiting Savannah who wants to experience the city through its cuisine and history. Fantastic food, a charming guide, and a beautifully curated evening—we can’t recommend the Southern Traditions Dinner Tour highly enough!
This tour was a 10 of 10, I highly recommend. The food was outstanding and Cathy M, our tour guide was superb. She has great presentation, historical knowledge of the city and the food we were eating (huge portions). The Shrimp and grits at the Gryphon was just so delish. Do not miss out on Cathy and this tour!
We did the dinner tour with Jessica. She is AMAZING. We had a wonderful time with her. We learned a lot about Savanna and the food. I hope to do a tour with her again in the future. 5 stars!!!
Jessica was amazing. She was friendly, full of knowledge and recommendations, and lots of fun to be with. The food choices were top notch and enough to satisfy the biggest appetite... so go hungry... for knowledge and food!
What a great tour! It was just my husband, son and myself on the tour which made everything so special. Rose was so knowledgeable about the history, architecture, and food. We loved getting to know her during the tour as well. The food was fantastic and there was so much of it! Do this tour!! We certainly got our money’s worth.
Jessica our guide was wonderful and extremely informative. She was super friendly and made us feel very comfortable. The food stops were amazing- particularly the shrimp and grits.
Cathy did an outstanding job sharing interesting history and fun facts about the area. We enjoyed the food and had plenty for our dinner from the few stops.
Or guide, Bridget, was enthusiastic and informative. The food was great and this was a super way to see the city’s historic district and learn its history. We fully enjoyed each of the food stops (best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had!) and met some really interesting people as well. Totally worth it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Southern Traditions Dinner Tour! The restaurants we visited in the tour were charming with delicious food. Win Win! But come with an appetite! The plates were generous at each restaurant. We LOVED the shrimp & grits, the fried green tomatoes & the roasted oysters, Delish! We ended the tour with happy bellies. Michael our tour guide was great! He provided lots of interesting history of the city and the restaurants. I would highly recommend this food tour.
Fantastic food tour! Our guide, Rose, was friendly, fun, and very knowledgeable. The stops are well chosen, the food is very representative of the South and delicious! Do show up hungry as there is quite a bit of food. They include one alcoholic beverage but you can buy more at any stop. Please let the operator know of any food allergies: the tour includes shellfish and dairy, I didn’t ask but I’m thinking they can accommodate. I take food tours in many cities around the world and this one ranks among the very best. Great job Rose! Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon!!
Our tour guide rose was so sweet, friendly and super smart! She shared so much history and knowledge of the area. We definitely learned a lot. The food was also wonderful! Rose took care of all the details ordering for us and making sure everyone had something to enjoy. I would do this trip again!
My tour guide was Jessica. She was an awesome tour guide and I had a great time. She was very knowledgeable about the city and gave us some great history and interesting facts. The food was amazing and I look forward to revisiting some restaurants that I had never been to before.
I thought for $125 each we would get a lot more food; basically we shared a few appetizers and did not even go to the ice cream place that Savannah is known for; went to a cheaper version. The guide was 19 so young and inexperienced but she did know a lot of history. I would never recommend this food tour. I have done many tours in many cities/countries and I would have to rate this one very poor
Had a tour for 3! My husband, myself and our tour guide Michael. It was intimate and very informative. Great history lesson and excellent food selections. Excellent shrimp and grits! Enjoyed our early evening on this tour…
Absolutely loved the tour and Rose was amazing with her knowledge of the area. Really enjoyed her as our tour guide. Food was outstanding. So much and a great variety. Wasn't sure which food tour to do, but very happy we chose this tour.
Rose was our guide through the city of Savannah and at first I was a little unsure if she would be loud enough or assertive enough for that role. As the tour went on she settled in to a comfortable relaxed conversation and shared a ton of knowledge about the sites we explored. She gave us insight into the local culture and the long history of the area. She was kind and sweet. We have done food tours in other places before and so there were some differences but overall it was a good experience.
We had a blast and enjoyed the food in spite of the rain. Michael was very informative and fun. The restaurants we visited appear to have a good working relationship with Southern Traditions as they worked very hard to make our experience memorable. Would do this again.
The food was excellent and supplied in abundance which isn't always the case on a foodie tour. No need for dinner that night! My experience was augmented by Jessica, my guide, whose enthusiasm and knowledge of history elevated the experience to a history plus foodie tour. The pictures emailed to me after the tour were a bonus that made the tour even more remarkable. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is hungry for southern food, Southern history and Southern hospitality.
I enjoyed this tour immensely. The samplings were delicious, and I got the opportunity to try new things. My guide Rose was spectacular. She shared many interesting facts about the history, culture, food, architecture and art of Savannah. Her knowledge and insights showed me what make this city so unique and special. What an amazing afternoon!
