Itinerary
Our team has been doing guided walking tours of Historic downtown Savannah for over 20 years. After many years previously spent in Savannah's culinary scene, it made sense to combine the two. Savannah's foodie seen has really taken off and we wanted to showcase our own spin of Southern Flavors. While strolling through the city squares and Historic District of Downtown. This is how Southern Flavors of Savannah was born.
Our WALKING tours cover the areas between Broughton Street and River Street. Our goal is to give you a small taste of some of your new Savannah favorites. We have a diverse food culture that spotlights more than just our southern cuisine. Our tour includes flavors from around the world offered by a plethora of restaurants available here in our Hostess city. You will have a full day of flavors as you indulge in 6 different locations to give you a taste of our favorite foods in town. We will show off some local gems that shine in that southern sun. In around 3 hours, you will have a whole new idea of Southern flavors and Savannah charm. As you walk, you will learn about Savannah’s long and fascinating history as Georgia’s hostess city of the South. From the first wooden ships to cross the Atlantic Ocean, to the city’s secret history, we will talk all things Savannah. Due to the number of restaurants Savannah has to offer, our stops are often rotated.
Food tours are conducted at a leisurely pace, please be advised that we tour rain or shine.

Great way to see the city, get some history, and grab some bites. I think our tour had 8 stops in total and you Savannah has open alcohol laws so you can grab a drink during the stops and take it with you.
Christina was funny, knowledgeable, and patient. She made a more than 3 hour excursion feel like a matter of minutes. The tour included 6 stops. Many of the places were local favorites versus tourist top 10. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Really really really wish we did not get Christina as a guide. From what I understand the venues are at the discretion of the guide & the food tasted like regret!!! Egg salad when the other option at the same restaurant is a burger? She is pescaterian & we the people who actually paid for the food were subjected to her diet instead of getting what we paid for. From what I saw, others had shrimp & grits, peach cobbler, fried chicken, burger sliders & crab cakes... we had arugula flat bread, egg salad, green tomatoes an ice cream cup & I am beyond disappointed. I left a food tour hungry & looking for a restaurant to eat at. It's bad for business having Christina as a guide. I would never ever frequent the restaurants we sampled at nor would I recommend this food tour to anyone else.
Christina was fantastic. An excellent guide. I would recommend her to anyone.
Much more walking than I anticipated. Less history than anticipated. Expected a bit more upscale. Went to bars and had a snack. One half of a deviled egg at distillery wasn’t what I was expecting. A tiny sliver of flatbread at a bar, one slim slice of fried green tomato at another bar. Egg salad on a roll at another bar.The best part as butter pecan ice cream at the end. However- we met some very nice people and enjoyed our conversations.
Christina is awesome! Second time on this tour with her and we will continue to come back. They change up locations too so going more than once is a different experience.
We've been on many food tours in cities around the world, and this one was not a good experience for us. We also had Christina, and we were really looking forward to touring with her, but candidly, she must have been having an off day. It was very fast-paced and involved a lot of walking. At times, we were spread out over a couple of city blocks. There was very little history offered on our tour and as I mentioned earlier, Christina seemed distracted and was constantly stepping out to use her phone. For us, the food was very disappointing. Lots of carbs; in fact, the only protein was the egg salad, which was one of our stops. I know a lot of others enjoyed this tour, and as I mentioned, for us, that day, Christina just didn't meet our expectations and the food certainly didn't come close to good expereience.
Went on vacation with my mom and was excited trying different foods. Christina was amazing. I read reviews and everyone said christina was the best. Shes funny keeps everyone interested in learning history. Mom's alittle older and was alitle worried about the walking part, but it was was good no issues we had many delicious stops along the way so not too much walking all at once. If your thinking about doing it, do it. Favorite food item was the fried green tomatoes and favorite stop was the distillery we had a delicious deviled egg and had free time to have an experience at the distillery. Thank you Christina for a wonderful time.
The history part was lacking. Little conversation, a few rote facts and moved on. Almost robotic. The food choices were fun. Length of tour was fine. Christina was our guide. I tipped, but, honestly, wished I hadn’t.
A great intro to Savannah through its food and beverages! The tour had multiple stops...quick in-and-outs for pralines and longer, more leisurely stops where we had time to order a drink, visit with fellow foodies, and learn more about Savannah's history and cuisine. We covered a lot of ground so wear your walking gear! Christine was our guide and she was fun, knowledgeable, and a great storyteller. Would have loved to hear more stories!
Guide was Christine. She was very nice but does talk quite fast. It’s definitely a lot of walking. Visited six restaurants sound better than others. What do it again.
The tour was a little underwhelming. There was too little history imparted. It seemed like long quiet walks from one restaurant to the next.
Had a great time!!!! Enjoyed going to multiple pubs and hearing stories!!! Christina was awesome!!!
I have gone on many Food Tours in Savannah. This one had to be the worst. Maximum number of people was supposed to be 16. We had 21. Definitely too many. The first stop said they were too busy to seat us, so we had to wait for 40 minutes until the guide, Christina, brought us the food in a park to eat. The 2nd stop was a tiny, deviled egg. I thought we were supposed to get some history around town and about the food, but we did not. At the beginning the guide told us about some history but once it began to rain, the aim of the trip was to get to the next stop. At the 4th stop, again, they did not have room for us. We were told that if a table opened up, then we could sit down. We had to stand around and wait. It was a packed bar. We decided to abandon the tour and see the rest of Savannah on our own. Not a Fan Favorite
Wonderful experience! The food was phenomenal and our guide, Christina, was fun, full of facts, knowledge of the city and people. A must do!
The tour guide was awesome. The locations visited were friendly and had very delicious foods! This is definitely the tour to book!
It was probably one of the most disorganized food tours I’ve ever been on. Multiple places either didn’t have space for us or didn’t know we were coming or both. We walked long distances between each stop with no information or history of Savannah given. I don’t even know why the restaurants chosen were chosen. The food was average and portions really small. One deviled egg at a stop, one fried green tomato at another, one small piece of pizza at a third. One item we ate sitting on a wall in a park without water or napkins. The best part was the last stop which was peach cobbler with ice cream. Our guide seemed frustrated at the restaurants which made the whole experience a little uncomfortable. I would not recommend this tour (or at least not for what we paid).
I took the Southern Flavors Food, Pub Crawl, and History Walking Tour on and it was completely unacceptable. There was a complete lack of transparency from start to finish regarding what was actually included in the tour. The food served was downright terrible, far below what you would expect for a local food tour. To make matters worse, our guide, was awful—disinterested, disorganized, and added no value to the experience. Out of the 6 total locations we visited, only 2 were actually good. The rest were horrible stops that felt like a complete waste of time. Save your money and skip this tour!
The pub Paul crawl was great Christine was a lot of fun. Met some very nice people in our group. I wish we would’ve heard more history about Savannah.
Christina rocked it! Good pace for the tour, great stops, and lots of good historical information along the way. Really glad we booked this tour!
Food was delicious, drinks were good (although the Old Savannah Distillery’s service was very slow), Christine was fabulous. She kept it fun, had great stories, and kept a nice pace throughout.
Our girls trip was made even more special by the amazing food tour! It was a perfect combination of history and delicious food. It was a great way to spend the day.
This was our 3rd tasting tour it was a lot of fun. The only negative thing I would say is there were a lot of people and we could not here what the tour guide was saying and it also felt rushed. I think there shouldn’t be more then 10 people on a tour at once just to make it seem not so rushed.
I do not recommend this food tour. My husband and I have been on a couple of food tours and usually end up very full of both food and knowledge of the city we are visiting. We got neither on this trip. Food was subpar and not low country. We had a cornbread waffle with sausage gravy (5/10), half of a deviled egg, ONE small fried shrimp (7/10), 2” long “slice” of pizza (5/10), a dry bbq pork slider (3/10) and a cup of peach cobbler (9/10). Cobbler was definitely the best thing we ate. After the tour ended my husband and I had to find somewhere to sit down and eat we were so hungry. As for the tour of Savannah, to say we learned little to nothing is putting it kindly. I know where the bench Forrest Gump sat on is but that’s about it. We walked up to the steps of a historic public cemetery but couldn’t go in (what!?!) because the tour company didn’t have the proper approval. Finally, 22 people is far too many to get a good tour. If the guide was talking up front, those of us in back couldn’t hear a thing. Tour was so large getting service was impossible. Waited in line 15 min to get a drink, only to be told it was time to move on to the next location. If I could do it over again, I’d pick a different company or curate my own tour using ChatGPT.
Christina was great and informative. We got great food and the history part was incredible. Thanks Christina!
This was touted as a southern fare walking tour. We thought it would give us a better mix of Savannah restaurants than it did. We basically had a pub crawl and nothing special except the first stop. The last stop was a chain restaurant for peach cobbler- the only one out of six stops that was “southern” was the first - cornbread waffle with sausage gravy. There were 4 people in the tour and we all felt we were along for her day with her favorite stops and in between stops to chat with her friends.
Very fun and delicious local foods! Christina was amazing great guide with history and personal stories to entertain us!
Informative and nice variety of food.
First and last stop were the best stops. Food could've been better at the other stops but what made this tour was Christine. She hustles, tells good stories and kept us very entertained.
Our tour with Christina was a hoot. There was a variety of different flavors and foods and she added great commentary to the entire tour. She’s been in the business for almost 30 years and knows everyone and everything about Savannah.
It was just the two of us but Chritina was so nice. She's been doing this sooo long that she has friends everywhere on the tour. It was great!
Great tour!!! I cannot say enough good things about our guide, Christina! She is so knowledgeable and fun!! Would highly recommend and will definitely book again!! This is a MUST when visiting Savannah!
Tour guide Christina wasn’t easy to find, as she should have dressed better and worn a name tag or something to differentiate her from everyone else in the park! She spoke very fast when she did speak, which wasn’t very much. She acted like she wanted to be anywhere but there. The food was mediocre and drinks are not included, even though it’s advertised as a pub crawl. Most pub crawls have drink samples included. Cristina didn’t tell us much of anything. Very disappointing!
We had aa amazing time! This was our first time in the Savannah area and it was a fun way to see the historic district. Christine was awesome! She has a great sense of humor and is very knowledgeable about the area. Don’t come looking for huge portions, but do expect great food and great people!
Christina was fantastic! She has the personality for the tour. Very entertaining and knowledgeable of Savannah.
We really enjoyed our trip and our fantastic guide Christina! She had great information to share, clearly knew the people and places well we felt like we had insider access with her leading the tour. Got in a great walk, saw, so many places, ate and drank delicious offerings and learned a little something about Savannah. Can definitely recommend this tour.
This was a great experience to get to know a bit about Savannah. Christina is a plethora of local knowledge, and a heck of a lot of fun. You will get to taste some great food and walk it off in the process, so it’s diet friendly! Would do again and will next time I come to Savannah!
Cristina was a wonderful guide. Knowledgeable and funny. Loved seeing all the restaurants. We did tell someone on the phone ahead of time that we had a food allergy but it seemed to be a surprise at every stop :(
Loved this tour!! Christina is an excellent tour guide!! She gives great history of Savannah, but also keeps it funny and light. She is born and raised in Savannah and it’s evident that she loves the city and her job!! The food was very good at each location. We took the tour in the dog days of summer and it was just fine. Don’t let a little heat and humidity stop you…there are plenty of stops along the way and Savannah loves to-go cups! 🤭 So glad we tried this!
Tour guide was nice and knowledgeable about Savannah. Great food and got a good overview but would have liked more history.
It was a wonderful experience!! Christina was great!! We highly recommend her and the tour!!
Christina was a wonderful, funny and knowledgeable guide! Loved the food Anna the history.
great experience! Kristina was fabulous and knowledgeable! If you like bar food and some fun this is a great tour!
This would be our second tour with Christina. She is absolutely amazing. She is so funny, informative and energetic. My brother adored her on our first family tour, and was so excited to hear she was our tour guide this time around as well. He will forever be known as Potato.
Guide was super fun- food/locations weren’t local cuisines or very historical- mostly dive bars - kind of a let down
Christine was great fun and very knowledgeable! She took us to 6 different locations for food and we were stuffed by the end of the 3 hours. Our favorite was the egg salad sandwich at Pjs pub. It was like no other that I have ever tried. I paired it with a pickle shot and it was amazing.
Our guide Christina was very friendly! She knows a lot about Savannah and she showed us many of the local foods in the area.
Our Tour Guide Christina took us to 6 different pubs. We had a very enjoyable tasting experience at each pub. I thought this tour would include some of the restaurants that locals frequented but it was only pubs that you will find locals at. All of the food samples were really good. I had my 2 minor teenage granddaughters with me so I did not order beer or liquor .
Highly recommend!! We had a wonderful time. Our guide Christina was fun, funny, answered all of our questions (even 'where did the street paver stones come from'), and even gave great recommendations for other places to go. We learned some history and tried amazing foods.
