This a personal collection ranging from the Mexican War to today. There is a ton of stuff to see, and brief descriptions to go with them. I enjoyed not having to read a book at each exhibit, yet I got to see so many historical items. The owner was not intrusive but was very willing to answer questions and discuss his collection.

The most incredible display of military memorabilia I’ve ever seen and presented in a great organized way taking you through eras. Mr Webb was friendly and beyond knowledgeable about his museum. If you want to see history this is the place. My wife grew up in military and she was totally blown away.
Outstanding collection. Worth the time.
Gary Webb is a walking encyclopedia of military knowledge. His collection is absolutely fantastic and there's a story behind every piece. Truly amazing time. Thanks again to Gary and his wife.
OMG!! My family and I visit Savannah every year for 25 years for business and pleasure. I found this place literally by accident while walking on East York St. This place is worthy of a savannah trip in itself! We had the hour + tour with Mr. Webb and it was one of the most intriguing and fascinating museums my wife and I have ever been to. It was so good we brought our in-laws and daughter/husband back the next day and went through it again for 1 + hours. Words cannot express the importance of this museum to everyone in this country. All that exists in this place is history - whether you like it or not. It exists in our life and it must be protected - whether your a liberal or conservative or something in between. Gary does not talk politics at all - he speaks of history. Although the trip was for my business - this visit made everything worthwhile. We will see this place every time we visit Savannah going forward! Amazing is an understatement
I went to this museum with my son today. He saw it from the hop on and off bus. We walked back to the museum and this was THE highlight of the day. The best museum I’ve been to. So much to see. We went around twice and saw different things each time. Mrs Rockward was an amazing soul who answered questions and pointed out different artifacts and stories behind them. I highly recommend this as a must see when visiting Savannah!
100% Recommend! We spent 1.5 hours there and still did not really see everything there. One of the hidden gems here! Wasn’t crowded at all and everyone was so nice.
My wife and I visited this museum earlier today after stumbling upon it looking for things to do in Savannah on Tripadvisor. I could not recommend it more. The owner, Gary, introduced us to his personal collection of military memorabilia. I can tell you it is very impressive and well worth your visit. It is thoughtfully curated and respectfully chronicled. He has done a great job of treating all of this memorabilia with respect and the honor it deserves. The amount of material he has collected over the years is truly amazing. You only need about an hour so I highly recommend you take this quick tour and enjoy.
Unbelievable Collection! Friendly and knowledgeable host. Easy walk from Broughton Street. Worth the trip and so neat!
This is a wonderful taste of history. We have been to museums all over the world and this is by far one of the best. The owner Mr. Webb was there to give us a full tour of his extensive military collection. His passion and love for history is evident in the way he describes each individual piece. You get lost in his art of talented storytelling. Mr. Webb alone is a priceless preserver of history worth a visit, the extensive array of Museum pieces and artifacts are just an extra bonus.
This place is amazing. There are thousands of military artifacts/memorabilia. The owner is incredibly passionate about his collection and will answer any questions you may have about anything in his collection. This museum is a must go for anyone even remotely interested in military history. Cannot wait to go back some day.
This is a personally curated museum and we experienced an introduction by the curator. The museum is really full of interesting and varied articles of various militaries. There are many uniforms, weapons, books and other memorabilia from many wars and military experience. The entry fee is fairly low and the visit is low effort but also interesting. It isn’t for everyone but certainly many would enjoy this unique museum.
It's such a great place! Friendly owner, unique WWI artifacts, and everything well kept. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and history here. Highly recommended!
Don’t skip this museum especially if you love history! Even better if you can go when Gary Webb, the owner and collector is there! He has the most amazing collection and stories! Everything well labeled and documented! Great experience! We were able to chat and enjoy while our kids completed a scavenger hunt!
Incredible collection of military history in Mr Webb’s museum! Well worth the tour. Great to see someone who is preserving history for people to learn about, rather than the people who want to forget history and what we can learn from it. Thank you for sharing your collection with the public!!
Webb Military Museum is quite amazing covering individuals from all US wars except the Revolutionary War. Gary Webb is owner and told us many interesting stories of why/how he started his museum, obtained his treasure trove and the individuals honored there. The museum is stuffed with many artifacts which will require lots of time to fully explore—you can do as much or little as you care to do. Gary gives wonderful customer service in all areas of his work which we thoroughly appreciated. (Lilburn, GA)
The owner was amazing and had made some great conversation! The amount of items and knowledge in this place is SURREAL. I would recommend for everyone to see!
Gary had background on every artifact in the museum and it was a pleasure seeing his collection. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone!
Very friendly people there and very informative. My hole family enjoyed it. The woman in the front is very helpful and gives you historical background.
This establishment is curated and hosted by someone who is obviously passionate about connecting visitors with those who served during times of war. This includes his own loved ones. If you are interested in history you will also love this museum. It is a must. If you are disabled there are many areas you can stop amd rest while going through the collection.
Had the pleasure of meeting the owner and collector, Gerry. He is a true local historian and has an incredible wealth of information. The museum boasts hundreds(possibly thousands) of unique and very rare rifles, clippings, photos, handwritten letters from soldiers, all types of weapons, uniforms(look out for Bob Hope’s), helmets, notebooks, artifacts, jewelry, clothing.. just to name a few. He even has a genuine war plane! Many of the items are also from his own family’s ancestry. They have a “scavenger hunt” for kids(or adults) that both of my older two sons enjoyed a lot. Overall, this place is a must see if you’re in the area. You’ll learn a little something and get to see historical items you likely won’t see anywhere else in the world.
If you are any kind of a history or military enthusiast or veteran, I implore you to stop here and talk to Gary. He has been cultivating this collection since age 10 and has stunning pieces of all kinds from nearly every conflict dating back to the Civil War. I happened to be there without other guests and he personally came by to share how he acquired some pieces. You could easily spend hours there and if you're not careful, you will miss something. The pieces are extraordinary and ones that you would not see anywhere else. There are some "sensitive" items so I'm not sure it's a place for young children to visit though. You will be in awe by the time you leave.
Outstanding collection of military memorabilia. I brought the entire family, and they were not disappointed. Highly recommended!
Glad I found this unexpected gem on TripAdvisor! Although it is a relatively small museum, it is jam packed with things to see. Their website says there are "military artifacts from the American Civil War to Desert Storm." I believe though that there were a few items from the Revolutionary War as well. We were amazed at how many military artifacts a private person had collected. I'd recommend getting the free scavenger hunt paper sheet to identify a selected item in each exhibit. It just made you look at things a little closer. The woman at the front desk also was friendly & responsive.
History brought to life. So many personal stories, photos, artifacts from civil war up to present day. Thanks to the Webb family for their presentation.
Lots to see! Very knowledgeable and passionate about history. Appreciated the detail taken to maintain and share military history.
Five stars doesn't do it justice. My wife, our friends and and I visited this museum and I have to say it was the best thing we did while we were in Savannah. Mr. Webb, the proprietor and our tour guide, had an incredible military collection and was so knowledgeable about everything that he made our visit tremendously informative and so personal that it felt like you were visiting a friend. Some of the items on display I am certain I will never see anywhere else. Our one big mistake was coming later in the day as we could have spent much more time there. My suggestion - make it an early in the day stop so you'll have plenty of time to look around, but regardless, make sure you do visit if you're in Savannah.
There was so much to see. I could have spent all day. The greeter at the door was wonderful. We could have talked to her all day too. So many neat exhibits to look at. One could go repeatedly and never view it the same way twice. For anyone into military history, this is a must if you are in the Savannah area.
This was my son’s favorite thing we did! Tons of really cool war history artifacts! If you like history and war stuff this is worth your time and money! Me. Webb is super nice and has an amazing collection!
This was by far one of the most extensive private collections I have ever seen. We stumbled across this museum by accident, but I only wish I had known about it on previous trips. Mr. Webb is practically a walking encyclopedia, and there were multiple pieces within that I honestly couldn’t believe I was looking at. There was a vast collection from almost every time period. Can’t recommend it enough!
I'm not a history museum fan, but the owner was so intriguing and knowledgeable, with the most unusual collections I have ever heard of or seen. I went because my husband wanted to go.
This was so cool. Gary Webb was so nice and passionate about his personal collection of artifacts. He had so many amazing items! We were on a trip to celebrate a bride and a birthday. Gary even gave us a bottle of champagne and opened it with a sword! We had such a great time here. I highly recommend, especially if you love history! Thank you, Gary!
Excellent experience. Walkable from the river. Unbelievable collection from many different wars. I took my 2 grade school boys there, and they loved the scavenger hunt. Mr. Webb was super inviting and had great stories. Definitely worth it.
Enjoyed the museum and speaking with Mr. Webb. Thank you for sharing your private collection! This was one of my husbands favorite stops in Savannah.
We were in awe that this was a personal collection. It spanned every generation we had in our group. Absolutely recommend for anyone interested in military history. Our 81 year old father was intrigued to tell us his memories from the times.
This museum is a hidden gem in Savannah. Gary Webb has a vast collection of military artifacts from decades of battles and he has stories behind every piece in the collection. The museum is a must visit in Savannah for anyone interested in history or stories of the past. Gary was very informative and engaging with us and we could have stayed for hours looking at everything in his collection. This museum is a must visit for any tour to Savannah.
A very unique and diverse collection of military weapons, uniforms, documents, photos, and other sundries spanning more than a century. Mr. Webb himself was there the day I went, and gave a intriguing overview of his family history and his connection to his personal collection. I definitely found the place worth the time and price.
I loved seeing artifacts from the confederates or the Germans from WW2 it showed all sides not just the modern day narrative wich hates our southern culture and showed the horrific events of the world wars. It’s a real museum one like you would see before the time of progressivism
Gary Webb is awesome. He's filled with so much passion and knowledge that needs to be seen and heard. The number of artifacts is overwhelming and it's not even his entire collections. We will be back to see things we may have missed.
This is a must for anyone that wants to learn about history of the military from the civil war on. No bias and no agenda, just history.
We were absolutely amazed by this museum! The amount of displayed uniforms and historical objects is overwhelming. I wish we live closer to Savannah to be able to visit the museum many times.
This museum was amazing! Great collection and highly recommend this experience! It’s an easy walk thru, self guided. Even our young children enjoyed!
My wife and I travelled together with two other couples to Savannah. During our stay we all decided to go the Webb Military Museum. It was fantastic! Anyone interested in military history will completely enjoy the collection that Gary Webb has put together over his lifetime. In addition to the Gary's collection, his wealth of knowledge is incredible. All three couples totally enjoyed our experience and Gary's willingness to share his knowledge with us. Don't miss this gem if you are in Savannah!
From the outside I wasn't expecting much. The building is an old house barn and it doesn't look very big. Once you step inside, it is amazing the amount of history that fits in the space. There are military items I have never seen in any museum including the Smithsonian's. This is a must see! As a side note.... handicap accessible, and if you're lucky, there is parking directly in front of the building.
We stumbled on this amazing gem in downtown Savannah. Gary, the owner, met us at the front door and brought to life the stories about men and women in the military. He featured authentic military artifacts, equipment, uniforms and weapons. This is a must see for every American as it brings history to life.
This is Gary Webb's personal collection, which he has accumulated over 50 years! It is quite impressive and covers 9+ wars and conflicts. There is also a scavenger hunt you can complete whereby you basically mark off all the items listed in the 17 different cases. Gary is a great guy, and since I wasn't able to finish viewing the full museum during my first visit, he was nice enough to allow me free entry the next day. Highly recommend the Webb Military Museum to people with any interest in military history at all! PS - Gary has a photo station where you can click pics with the many hats he has on display there!
Upon entering, Gary was very inviting and welcoming. You could truly feel how excited he was to share everything. I stopped by last minute before he closed but will definitely be back!
Excellent! If you love history this is the place for you. Military items that span the years. Things you won’t see in every museum.
Hands down one of the coolest museums I’ve visited… ever!! Mr. Webb’s love of History makes the stories that much more interesting. The museum is all his personal collection. If you’re interested in history, this is a must see.
This private collection museum is outstanding and the owner has direct family ties to several of the artifacts. A must see in Savannah if you are into military history!
