Our tour guide notified us 45 minutes before the tour that the heat index will be 104°. We could have rescheduled but we were leaving that afternoon and were okay with cancelling because it sounded like they wanted to. When I said as much, the guide stated they’d do it but that people have fainted this time of year. Well, my friends are close to 70 and the guide’s warning scared them so I asked if we could get a refund. Then the guide said they’ll try to stay in the shade and that this just isn’t New Hampshire, which is where I’m from. Then I just asked for a refund because they were nervous and the guide approved the refund with the following statement: Sure we’ll gladly issue a refund. I’d rather mention it before hand than have someone get sick half way through the tour. Happens all the time with those from the northeast. My friends live in Florida and we were all set to do the tour. When the guide became condescending, I didn’t want to spend time with this person.

Itinerary
Your 1.5-hour walking tour of Savannah begins in Reynolds Square, which contains some of the most interesting historical buildings in the city. Your guide will explain how this square was the center of colonial government in the 1700s, and originally held the House of Assembly, where the first reading of the Declaration of Independence in Georgia took place. Travel back in time as you enjoy a leisurely stroll through the streets and squares of Old Savannah and the downtown area, which includes the Savannah Historic District, the Savannah Victorian Historic District and 22 park-like squares. This area is one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the US. You’ll be offered views of canopies of trees, floral landscapes and historic buildings as you hear stories about Savannah’s role as a strategic port city during the American Revolution and Civil War. Your tour ends back at Reynolds Square, leaving you with a great introduction to the Hostess City of the South.

A great way to spend the afternoon. Michael is new to the company, but really knows his history. A nice walk through the squares with plenty of facts on the architecture and history of how Savannah was founded.
Michael was wonderful, very knowledgeable. It’s a great tour to get an understanding of the founding of Savannah
The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and history of Savannah. Not sure we saw all the sites listed though.
Excellent experience. Very informative. Guide was Brad, and he was knowledgeable and engaging.
This tour was one of the best tours I've been on in Savannah with interesting historical facts and stories. Our guide, Brad, was both humorous and knowledgeable. He was able to answer all of our many questions as he grew up in Savannah. I will definitely book again on our next trip to this historic city.
Brad was very informative and truly insightful about the history of Savannah. We loved interacting with him and would definitely do another tour with him as the guide.
Tour guide William Spinks knows his Savannah history - my husband and I had never visited here before, and we learned much from William about the architecture, politics, agriculture, and economics of this area of Georgia. Mr. Spinks knows well the layout of the city. He answered our questions and gave his talk with a friendly, easygoing attitude.
Our guide was a wealth of information and was happy to answer our questions. We absolutely loved it!
More history than walking. Lots of Revolutionary War and founding of Georgia’s history; whitewashing of the very little Civil War era history. Our guide covered the cotton boom and the people who benefited, nothing of slavery… or Civil Rights era history. The guide was engaging and entertaining enough, but very disappointed in the content.
Good tour. Informative and enjoyable. Walked sections of Savannah we would not otherwise have seen. Worth the money.
He was an excellent, clearly speaking and knowledgeable tour guide. Although we had a large number of tourists he handled it very well.
Guide was awsome and very informative and knowledgeable about the cities deep history. Highly recommend!
We took a private walking tour of historic Savannah with Zach. He was personable, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about the city. And he was very patient with a slower pace for the older people in our group.
Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and knew absolutely everything about Savannah and its history!
Very interesting and enjoyable tour although it started out a little shakey. Tour guide never introduced himself until we asked his name and never asked our names or where we were from even though there was only 4 of us in the group. He also looked like he rolled right out of bed to do our tour. However, as we walked around he was very very interesting both in his knowledge and his stories. We wound up having a very informative tour. It was only 90 min but perfect for what we wanted to learn about the history of Savannah. I'm only giving 4 stars though because of how it started out. With a few tweeks he could definitely be an amazing tour guide.
We had a great stroll with Zach! This tour focused mainly on Savannah during the founding and the civil war. Very interesting!
This tour was great! Our guide, Zach, was very knowledgable and enthusiastic! He thoroughly explained the history of the area in an engaging way and answered all of the questions. We saw quite a few interesting spots on the tour, and Zach explained the history behind them, gave details on the architecture, and knew a lot about the area as a whole. The group was a good size, not too big. The tour started on time with no issues. The meeting point was easy to find and near a parking garage, which was convenient. The pacing of the tour was good; I never felt like we lingered too long in one spot but still learned a lot. If you are concerned about the summer heat, this tour largely goes through areas with a lot of shade and has a brief break in the AC halfway through, which was quite nice. I definitely recommend this tour!
Zach did an outstanding job! He delivered a lot of information in a fun way. He waited for my husband and me to begin. We were late in getting to our meeting place. Thanks Zach!
We had an absolutely wonderful tour with guide Zach who turned out to be incredibly knowledgeable about the history of this city and told interesting stories with great enthusiasm
This tour was a great thing to do when we got to Savannah, gave us a little bit of history on the area and got us directed as to where we wanted to do and what else we wanted to see. Zack was personable, knowledgeable and funny- kept us all laughing
Unable to rate as the tour time was changed and we had a conflict. Understand things come up. Took the trolley tour instead which was fun.
Loved hearing the history of how Savannah grew. Hearing about the different important figures of the time was very interesting.
Great family trip, good amount of things for teens, not really for small children. Lots of history, art, shopping. Really great that you can walk anywhere in the city. Night life is fun too, lots of restaurants & bars. Definitely more for couples or families with teens. Ghost tours are great, lots of shopping. Definitely overpriced but as expected. Vic’s was not worth the hype or price at all, but the Candy kitchens, ice cream & gelato shops, wings at Wet Willie’s definitely made up for it! Didn’t do the riverboat tours as so many reviews said they weren’t worth the price & food wasn’t great. The trolleys are a great option for anyone in your group unable to walk long distances. Riverfront view is definitely worth it! Overall amazing trip & we will be back!
Guide was Zak…. Superior hour and a half walking tour of Savannah. Zak was informative, extremely well spoken, SO engaging and personable, incredibly interesting among a gamut of relevant topics. Most importantly, Zak was hugely entertaining. Cannot recommend more highly.
Our guide was super knowledgeable and made it fun! He gave us extra time and answered all of our questions! He obviously adores Savannah and shared lots of unexpected things.
Brad was a terrific guide. Great info on Savannah’shistory. He was well organized, interesting and funny.
My daughter and I loved our tour. Our guide, Brad, was so knowledgeable and shared so much Savannah history with a good sense of humor and interesting stories. I highly recommend!
Enjoyable tour with our guide, William (Brad), who knew shared so much information about Savannah's history. Highly recommend it. Next visit we will do the civil war tour.
Very knowledgeable guide . Entertaining. Would recommend Brad to others visiting the area. Did an excellent job teaching us the local history.
Stephanie was so friendly and knowledgeable! We had a small group of 6 and had a wonderful tour. Would definitely recommend this tour.
I enjoyed learning some of the history of Savannah. The map was interesting. Our tour guide did a great job.
Good knowledge of area and history. Guide not personable or particularly engaging. Can’t give you his name as he did not introduce himself.
The tour was longer than expected, a very hot day, & no opportunity for restroom break. The history of the area was interesting and we heard a lot about Savannah. However, we did not realize until we began the tour that we would not end the tour at the location we began. Our guide pointed us in the direction we should go to get back to where we began, we got lost, and were exhausted by the time we found our car. Probably would not do this type of tour again.
The guide was very informative. His knowledge of the history of Savannah was great. His responses were a bit brash.
Tour started late ...tour guide we were supposed to have was ill...got a substitute but supposed to have done this for 15 years. She was hard to hear....rambled on.....there were 12 of us in the group...by half way through we were down to 6...the others walked away....a few minutes later 2 more left....we were supposed to start and finish at the same point ....she finished the tour somewhere far from the starting point...we had to hire a cab to get us back to our hotel because we had no idea how to get back. We have booked several tours through Viator...all went well except for this one. Not very happy with the wasted time and money!
We were looking forward to this tour and learning more about Savannah. Unfortunately, what we got was a guide that was not knowledgeable about the city. A guide who was confused about her facts and one that gave very vague details.
Over thirty people on tour, could not hear the guide. The guide constantly got off subject making personal political positions. At least 10 people left the tour before it finished. A complete waste of time and money. Strongly recommend another company.
The tour guide really knew his Savannah history and delivered the tour well, but inserted unwelcome political views aggressively. His attitude made some of our group feel unwelcome in what is supposed to be the hospitality city.
You company cancelled my reservation Received notification that tour guide was sick and couldn’t mage it
Wonderful and informative tour about the history of Savannah! Our guide was so knowledgeable and fun to walk with. Would definitely recommend as the best history tour around Savannah!
The guide was informative. The directions were clear for the meeting point and the tour was really good. The walking was not strenuous.
Experienced and well qualified guide gave an abundance of history and many interesting anecdotes. We missed the cathedral but will catch that next time in Savannah!
I did the trolley tour once, which is good for learning the layout of the city, but absolutely cannot compare to this walking tour! Bill is a wealth of knowledge and shared so many unique stories and secrets of Savannah with us. As a Savannah native, he knows it all!
An excellent guide who really knew his stuff and was still very personable in sharing it with all of us. He did well with our group that included a number of families with strollers. We walked at a comfortable "stroll pace" and learned a lot about the history and people of Savannah.
Brad was the best guide and gave us so many insights into the city’s history! We had so much fun on this tour and plan on doing it on every trip we take!
Wonderful tour with an amazing guide Brad. We learned so much and are planning our next trip to include another tour. Brad was by far the best walking tour guide we have ever had and he seemed to really enjoy sharing his knowledge with our group. Highly recommend this tour great price and excellent for first time visitors to the city.
Our guide was informative and entertaining! He was able to answer questions about the history of Savannah that were off script.
Very, very good storytelling tour guide. Could not recommend enough! Learned a lot, had fun, good pace, great group, and extremely interesting. Super fun learning experience.
Most interesting. More history than we'd realised. Our guide made it all worth listening to. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys walking and history. .
