The tour was good and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. My only problem was that we ended the tour 25 minutes walk from where we started the tour. We found our way back but we were pretty tired. The tour did say that you did not end up in the same place where you started the tour, but I didn't think it was going to be so far away

Itinerary
Out tour begins here. Introduction to Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil's main character, Jim Williams, and an outside look at what is probably his most high-profile Savannah project - the Olde Pink House Restaurant and Tavern. We also introduce Minerva, the voodoo priestess and member of his defense team.
We stop here to talk about Johnny Mercer and the Midnight movie soundtrack, and why director Clint Eastwood thought it was important to have a movie soundtrack that was 100 percent Johnny Mercer music.
A look at the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Qe compare it to the book, and take a deep look at its characters and the various places it was filmed, including an outside look at the Federal District Court Building, used as an exterior in the movie's courtroom scenes.
A brief presentation about the movie Forrest Gump.
An in-depth look at one of the main venues for the book and the movie - The Hamilton Turner Inn. Talk about Joe Odom, Nancy Hillis (the real "Mandy), and Jerry Spence. We also introduce "Vamp of Savannah," Hillis' tell-all book.
We'll trace the history of Clary's Cafe and introduce Moe Fetzer (the real Luther Driggers). Then we take a look at 115 W. Jones St., anchor of the movie's famous scene introducing Joe Odom. Then we see John Berendt's first home in Savannah, as well as the home where Berendt met Joe Odom.
We stand in front of the Mercer Williams House Museum and discuss its history to present-day; its role in the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil saga; and the trials of Jim Williams. We do not go inside the museum.
We stand in front of the Armstrong House and discuss its history and its role in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. It is now a private home, we do not enter it.
Our tour ends here with a discussion on Midnight characters and "where are they now." We also talk about how the author wrote the book and what the book has done for Savannah - and anything else tour participants want to talk about!

Martin was a great tour guide and very knowledgeable with the book, movie and locations. I was very much looking forward to this tour and it did not disappoint. I was hooked after the first tour stop.
Great storytelling and very knowledgeable about Savannah and the details of Midnight in the Garden of Good&Evil. Easy nice walk, would highly recommend.
We were a group of four who greatly enjoyed the tour. Others should know that there is a good amount of walking and it was a very hot day.
We really enjoyed the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the book, the real people behind the characters, and the Savannah locations connected to the story. It was interesting to see so many of the places we had read about and learn additional details and history along the way. The tour was informative, well organized, and made the book come alive. We would definitely recommend it to anyone regardless of whether you read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil or is interested in Savannah’s history and characters.
Great tour. The guide was an excellent storyteller. I’m glad I got to see the sights shown on the tour and I learned a lot about Savannah and “Midnight”. Definitely a worthwhile tour!
Our guide, Martin, was SUPER knowledge and told us some of the "behind the scenes" stuff about Jim Williams and the movie that we hadn't known otherwise. Martin was a joy to spend time with, and made sure I was accommodated with a place to sit when need be. Thanks again, Martin!!
We really enjoyed our tour guide. It was very hot and he kept a leisurely pace and answered our questions. We loved walking through the historic center.
Martin was a wonderful storyteller. It was a fun walk around Savannah with tidbits from the movie, a nice bit of history, combined with Savannah flair.
This was an awesome tour! Having read the book, it was really cool to see the locations in person. We had an amazing time on the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil narrated walking tour in Savannah! Martin Sinderman was excellent — an engaging storyteller who brought the history and characters to life with so many fascinating details. You can tell he’s incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Savannah’s history and the book. The tour was the perfect mix of entertaining, informative, and atmospheric. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Savannah.
Chock dull of intersting facts. Included not only facts connected to the movie but aleo info about Savannah cultute
Martin was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable about the history around The Book: the timeline, the locations, and all of the people included and their real life stories. Be ready for a good walk. There are benches in some of the parks where Martin stops, and since the tour is on the longer side, there's a break built in to the tour.
This was a cultural experience that allows us to really be a part of the book and the movie. Our guide was just wonderful.
Martin, our guide, was fun, informative and very interesting. He wove stories about Savannah history together with stories of Jim Williams and the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and we walked away feeling like we knew Savannah. Highly recommend this tour.
Very interesting. Worth every minute. It is an easy walk. The guide was engaging and knowledgeable. Good time
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The tour guide did a great job, pointing out the various locations from the book and the movie and clarifying the differences between the two. We got a good feel for Savannah.

Martin was an excellent tour guide. We could all hear him and he moved at a good pace for the entire group. The break at Parker’s in the middle to get a drink, snack and potty was perfect. I recommend him to anyone interested in the book. We have done a 4 hour Savannah walking tour before but this was very informative
Very interesting and informative tour about the ins and outs of the characters of the book and movie. I would suggest going in the morning first thing if possible. Quite a bit of walking and standing. Tour guide was great!
Really fascinating tour - definitely recommend reading the book and seeing the movie before the tour to get the full experience, but he gave so much information that you would be able to enjoy it if you had or hadn't. Great mix of Savannah history and insights into the community, background on the book, additional info about the real and fictionalized characters, and how the film differs from the real events. We had a great time.
Fabulous tour! Our guide Martin was knowledgeable and friendly and knew his stuff. I would highly recommend if you like the book or movie.
Very interesting and entertaining! Even more so if you read the book and/or see the movie. This was our second time taking it!
Our tour was absolutely Fabulous! After reading the book twice and seeing the movie multiple times, I was amazed by all the incredible facts of the story. Our guide had so much insight to the story and history of Savannah. My favorite part of the trip!
Martin had a knack for weaving the story while visiting various key places from the book. It was delightful!
The tour was great! Funny & informative :) Would highly recommend to anyone who read the book. Really enjoyed it!
Our Group was Ashanti Too Book Club and we were celebrating our 20th Anniversary as a club. Our book for the month was Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil. Martin our tour guide did an excellent job. The stories, sites and the squares were so interesting. He kept the pace of the tour so well with a built in break at a cafe/store. I highly recommend Martin and this tour. It was just enough walking we had a couple in our group with walking issues but they did extremely well.
The Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil tour was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It offered a perfect balance of history, culture, and storytelling. Our guide was both knowledgeable and entertaining, bringing Savannah’s charm and intrigue to life. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun and informative way to spend an afternoon exploring the city.
