Reviews
I have been on ghost tours before, and I must say that this one by far was the absolute best. My wife and I chose this one because it offered a small group and no alcohol which was allowed, so there were no disruptions from children or a bunch of drunk people goofing around and making a ton of noise. We had 4 people in our group including my wife and I. Our guide was Patrick. We chose the late tour because we thought it would be spookier. Patrick is nothing short of a wealth of knowledge of the history of Savannah. At first, when Patrick started talking, it was a lot of mostly the history and the battles in and around Savannah, and I immediately thought to myself this was not going to be a ghost tour, but you had to learn a little of the history to understand why Savannah is considered the most haunted city in the US. As we progressed into the city we were taken to a lot of the places said to be haunted. Not only that, but we were also shown a multitude of photos of what appeared to be ghosts and orbs throughout the city that were taken by previous guests and sent back to Patrick. Patrick had so much knowledge that it surpassed what you would hear on the History channel shows, which was awesome. Patrick allowed us to use K2 meters which measures electromatic energy that is around you when there shouldn't be. In fact, our meters went off several times in various places around the city. And, not just mine and my wife's, but the other couple as well, and at the same time. I really enjoyed my time on this tour. In fact, it was definitely the highlight of our anniversary trip. So much so that we have talked about it several times since we arrived back home in Tennessee. If you are visiting Savannah and are looking into taking a ghost walking tour, I encourage you to take Savannah Ghostwalker Tour and Ghost Hunt. Hopefully, you will get Patrick as your guide. If I could rate this higher than a 5, I would. I have attached a few pictures of what I have caught on my camera while on our tour. You be the judge.
Wonderfully informational tour...not your run of the mill tour with exaggerated stories. Covered a lot of sites and watching the emf meter made the experience even more engaging.
Gene was our guide for the tour and he was incredibly knowledgable and engaging to listen to. His brother, Patrick who owns the company was also very helpful in getting us caught up with our group since we were coming from a few blocks over. I appreciated how Gene debunked many of the other over embellished stories we could hear from neighboring tours. If you want a truly authentic experience with a very professional and knowledgeable guide, this is the tour for you. My kids (15/16) and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
This by far was the very best ghost walking tour I've ever been on. My wife and I were looking for a tour that took a small amount of people. We were the only people besides one other couple. No screaming kids and no drunk people. Patrick, our guide was awesome. This man was very knowledgeable about ghost hunting and the city of Savanah. I learned a lot of stuff that you wouldn't find in some book. Patrick also allowed us to use K2 meters which measures electric magnetic frequencies that may be around you when there should not be. Our entire group had multiple hits on the meters in places you should not get hits. If you get a chance to do a ghost tour, hurry and check out Patrick and his tour. I guarantee you will get your money's worth, learn new things, and most importantly, have a great time. If I could rate this more, I would. I've attached a few photos of what could possibly be some ghosts. In two of the photos, I caught what appears to definitely be an orb following behind two people.
Patrick was full of so much information and history of Savannah! He was very personable and answered our endless questions! There were so many interesting stories. The tour was definitely worth the price and lasted 2 hours! Patrick did not make it feel rushed. It was just 4 of us but he only allows up to 16 people so it would not feel crowded for sure! There is also no alcohol allowed which was a plus! The entire atmosphere felt spooky like Savannah ghost stuff should! You also get to carry K2 meters throughout the tour. Ours went off constantly! You will not be disappointed!
Every time we come to Savannah, we do this tour and I recommend it to everyone who is in the area. This is my favorite Savannah tour! Gene and Patrick know so much and have excellent personal stories. They aren’t trying to scare people for the sake of a cheap thrill- the history and pictures are spooky enough on their own! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn more about the city and the history/specters who call it home.
Lots of history. Great walk. A little spooky at times but never scary. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable
I talked my husband into going on this tour. I had checked before coming if they allowed dogs, so we we made it a family affair. Kathy was engaging and knowledgable. We opted for the "Adults Only" tour, which allowed us to utilize K2 meters throughout the walk. Once we made it to Oglethorpe Square, Kathy pulled out a spirit box and dowsing rods. It was definitively a very neat experience.
Very informative and many facts not fiction. This is not a scary tour. If you are one who wants some history of the area and unfortunate events that took place in some of the home, you will enjoy
Gene was very informative. We learned about the history of Savannah. He also separated fact from fiction.
The guide was very knowledgeable and charismatic and we really enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot and it was pretty spooky!
This tour was really fun and informative. My husband and I were the only ones on the tour who know about Jim Williams/ Midnight in The Garden of Good and Evil so the extra tidbits about that by our guide was cool. My biggest regret last time I came to Savannah was not doing a ghost tour so this definitely made up for it.
Very knowledgeable and captivating stories. Tour takes you to several of the well known sites. Guide shows examples of things people have seen.
This was the second time I’d gone on a walking ghost tour in Savannah. This tour was much more historical and very interesting, less horror, more informative. Our tour guide, Patrick, was a life long Savannah resident and a wealth of knowledge. He was also a paranormal investigator. Each of us carried electronic meters to detect energies, which was fun. The tour was 2.5 hours, lots of walking on uneven surfaces. Wear comfortable, supportive shoes! A great experience for those looking for historic context more than ghost stories.
Enjoyed our experience with Patrick. He was a very knowledgeable guide. A lot of great historical information and stories. Only downside was that I was traveling with teenagers - they want to fact check everything. So referencing documented history vs "lore" would have been helpful to minimize post-tour disagreements. LOL :-) Completely recommend! Make sure your feet aren't worn out from walking all day elsewhere!
We had a fantastic time. It was so interesting & creepy.
Our guide was very knowledgeable with everything he showed us. He made it interactive, and I was very drawn in to everything he was saying the entire tour.
Patrick was a fabulous tour guide, filled with stories and adventurous energy, he is very much ready to show you the most haunted and exciting areas of Savannah. Highly Recommend!!
Our family of 5, including 3 teens, really enjoyed Patrick’s stories and learning more about Savannah’s history. Was a beautiful night and the small group was the perfect size. Only watchout is that the tour went until 11:15, so we were all quite tired after a full day in the city. The tour was billed as :90 mins and we ended up 2:15 hours. Other than that, it was great!
Patrick was an absolutely fantastic tour guide! We spent 2.5 hours walking through Savannah and at every stop, Patrick not only shared ghost stories but a wealth of information and visuals about the history that led to that ghost story. He is so knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the city in such a short amount of time. Using the EMF reader made the night even more fun, especially when it lit up in certain hot spots of the city! We had the best time and highly recommend this tour to anyone in the Savannah area!
Very interesting history lesson along with in depth ghost stories. Patrick was very knowledgeable about early history and detailed in the ghost stories
It was a great experience. Patrick was excellent. Lots of knowledge of the history of Savannah. A great storyteller. It was fun to have the handheld monitors and find where there was some ghost activity. Fun for the whole family a little bit for everyone.
We had a lot of fun on this tour. Our tour guide, Gene, was very knowledgable! We learned a lot about the city and having the EMF readers was cool!
Gene our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about Savannah history and his ability to tell stories about events is amazing.
Gene was a great tour guide! he was very knowledgeable and told great stories. He was able to combine history along with the legends that made the tour fun and interesting.
Glenn was Great!! We loved hearing the history of the town. Glenn was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun!
10/10 great experience! Gene was very informative and every corner seemed to have history! Since Gene grew up in Savannah he knew a lot more than anyone we’ve ever asked about history, ghosts, or any savannah questions we had. This tour was definitely worth every penny. Gene was very personable and you can tell he knew his way around savannah with all the little movie scenes he referenced and with the true facts about the houses, squares and streets. If you’re in between a walking tour or a trolley tour like we were, definitely choose the walking tour because the information and experience is unforgettable!
Patrick was our guide. Loved how he knew so much of the city’s history and really brought it to life. Would definitely do it again with Patrick.
Patrick was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed getting to hear different ghost stories, while also learning about the history of Savannah. He made the tour very engaging rather than just being a site seeing tour. Highly recommend!
Patrick, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. We enjoyed the tour very much and learned a lot. We appreciated the fact that he took the time to answer any questions we had at the end. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in taking a ghost tour in Savannah. We did the 9pm tour. The darkness of night added a cool element to the scary ghost history of Savannah.
Patrick was an amazing tour guide! He clearly knows so much about the history of savannah and loves what he does. He didn’t try to make stories up just to scare us but gave us the actual history. It’s clear he could have talked about the history all night, which I would have loved! Such an amazing tour, highly recommend!!
Patrick was very knowledgeable and had great humor!
Excellent knowledgeable guide with years of experience leading ghost tours. Glad we took this tour with Patrick. Highly recommend.
We can't say enough good things about our experience. Patrick was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable and his story telling was phenomenal! Patrick was extremely gracious and made sure my husband and I were comfortable during the entire tour. We highly recommend this tour for everyone!
We thoroughly enjoyed the walking ghost tour in Savannah! Gene, our guide was engaging, knowledgeable, and did a fantastic job blending local history with spooky stories. Savannah’s beautiful historic streets created the perfect atmosphere, and we learned so much about the city’s fascinating past. Whether you believe in ghosts or not, it’s a fun and entertaining experience. Highly recommend for visitors looking for a unique way to explore Savannah!
Gene is an excellent tour guide! I have taken his tour multiple times! I really enjoy that he is educated, knowledgeable, does the research, and also collects relics! His tours are not only informative, but spooky. The real history is much creepier than the embellished variations, and I'm so grateful to Gene for bringing that experience to me! I've been coming to Savannah for 4 years and I will continue to take his tour multiple times each year. Thank you so much! Clarice
Very well led! Lots of focus on historical accuracies of deaths and haunting. Learned a lot!
Gene did a great job telling the history of Old Savannah! Loved it
Patrick shared fascinating historical stories with exceptional knowledge as we explored the streets of Savannah after dark. Although the tour was scheduled for 90 minutes, he generously extended the experience beyond the planned finish time, which was greatly appreciated. We would highly recommend this ghost tour to anyone visiting Savannah.
More history than ghosts, this was great for us as we don’t like cheesy ghost tours. Gene led us around some of the sites of Savannah and told us the significance of what happened there.
It was the best walking tour we’ve ever taken. Patrick was an outstanding guide. Full of historical info, stories and ghost hunting experience and knowledge.
We had a perfect tour with Gene! He was super knowledgable about Savannah's history and haunts! We would give this tour 10 stars if we could.
Patrick was absolutely fantastic and made this tour one of the best parts of our trip to Savannah. He was so knowledgeable and really took the time to explain the history behind the city, not just the spooky stories. If you are visiting Savannah this tour is a must, you will not be disappointed!
Patrick is THE guide that you want in Savannah. He has been giving tours long before any other guide out there and is an absolute wealth of knowledge. Photos and artifacts were presented to back up stories and also a family line that has been unearthing Savannah's past for generations. 5 stars all the way!
Patrick was an excellent tour guide for our experience this evening. I appreciated the care, interest and respect behind each story he shared with us. It was a great time and I highly recommend!
We had an amazing time with Gene. He is incredibly knowledgeable about Savanah and its unique history. If you want a tour that’s genuine, authentic, and fun book a tour with The Savannah Ghostwalker Tour group. We leaned so much. Thank you, Gene, for an incredible walk around Savannah!
Our Ghostwalker Tour with Gene was phenomenal. I guess we lucked out that it was raining, causing the other members of our group to back out. We had a personal tour for 2 1/2 hrs with Gene. I particularly enjoyed the authenticity and lack of theatrics. Our goal was to learn about Savannah’s history; both the good and the not-so-pretty. Gene more than exceeded our expectations. I would recommend Gene or his brother, Patrick, over any of the other gimmicky tours every day of the week and twice on Sunday. You won’t regret it.
We have been on several tours in Savannah in the past. This tour was unbelievable! Our Tour guide Gene was fascinating and extremely knowledgeable of Savannah history. The two hours flew by as we walked the streets. Savannah really is built on it's dead. Highly recommend if you want the truth without the exaggerated phony stories
Patrick is a most informative and enthusiastic tour guide. His knowledge of Savannah’s history is incredible! From the first settlers to present day, he was able to present a comprehensive picture of the good, bad and the ugly events that shaped the history of the city, and explained what scenarios led to Savannah’s reputation of being the most haunted city! This tour does not disappoint if you are looking for historically accurate details without gimmicks and tricks.
