Very educational. Well worth the time and money. Captain and narrator (Skylar & ?) were articulate and personable. Both very well versed in the history of the area and the shipping industry. The tour brought us incredibly close to the container ships. Definitely recommend!

Excellant guide, got up close to container ship. Got to see loading g and unloading. Even a dolphin showed his fin.
What can I say? This tour is a must for all visiting Savannah and well worth your money. The time on the boat was just enough. The tour guides were great. Knowledgeable and fun. History and information was all through the 1.5 hours aboard the boat. Getting up close to the tankers and seeing a dolphin and turtle added to the day. Thank you. Skyler and Conner for a great time!!
We go to Savannah often and this has been the best tour we have gone on! We’ve done ghost tours and architecture tours. They are also fun but do not compare to being on the river and learning more about the port of Savannah. Captain Jason and first mate Tanner (aka Connor) were informative, funny and engaging on this tour. Being able to view the port and cargo ships up close is such a unique experience. We even saw dolphins! Capt Jason and First Mate Connor/Tanner included so much information about the environment, port and history of Savannah.
Very interesting information, that would be difficult to find out in any other manner. Your guides were very knowledgeable and made the experience fun.
Very informative tour of Savannah River Port. The two women piloting the boat were terrific. They enthusiastically narrated all that we were seeing. Quite impressive to be so close to the big cargo ships and watching the loading and unloading of containers. They explained why the yachts were docked and the process of completing maintenance. This is a tour I would highly recommend.
Very interesting! 😊 Guides were very informative. Saw many giant container ships being loaded and off loaded.
Absolutely fascinating!!! Savannah angling to be the Largest Port in the nation by raising a bridge? Take a guess by how many feet and find out how close you come on your Port Tour! And there is so Much More to Learn and See!!!
This was a very informative tour of the port. We saw huge container ships in operation of loading and unloading cargo. Our tour operators, Conner and Tanner were very knowledgeable, interesting, and personable. It was one of our favorite experiences in Savannah.
Absolutely best tour in Savannah! Great narration! Crew was excellent!!!
It was a great tour. I learned so much and the captain and first mate were excellent tour guides
This was a great tour on the water to see the container ships. We got to see the loading and unloading process (from truck to the ships). Great narration to tell us about the process and workers. We got right up under a ship too - cool!
Our captain and crew were among the best we have had. They were knowledgeable and very personal.
Having driven by the port a number of times in the past, my husband and I were very interested in the actual operation. The tour was very informative and interesting. We were taken up close to the massive ships in order to observe the loading/unloading process. We also saw how the river needs to be continually dredged to allow the depth necessary for the large ocean going vessels. The Captain and mate were very knowledgeable and informative. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.
Knowledgeable crew, and such an interesting port!
This was so much fun! Captain and crew were both courteous and safety aware on this windy day. They could have easily skipped some of the up close experience due to weather but made sure we got to see everything to understand how the industry operated.
Very informative and more interesting than I expected. It’s cold in the morning so wear as many layers as possible! You can bring on your own drinks which is a plus.
Fantastic close up look to the port activities. Knowledgeable captain and first mate with a plethora of information. Recommended.
I went because my husband wanted to go, but I found the trip fascinating! So glad I didn't miss this trip! Captain Connor and First Mate Skyler were the best possible guides
Great tour! Very informative and fun. A not-to-be-missed part of Savannah. Highly recommended. The port is fascinating.
Thoroughly enjoyed tour.. it was very informative. I am well traveled and educated yet had no idea Savannah was the second largest port in US.
Great fun, the guys knew a lot about the port and Savannah in general. Highly recommended. Take this tour if you get a chance.
Such a great tour and wonderful way to experience the port! Such a great tour and wonderful way to experience the port!
What a fun and informative tour. So much better than going on a large riverboat cruise. Seeing the container ship operations up close was awesome. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining.
A rare opportunity get so close to these massive container ships. We even got right under the stern of two. Excellent information provided by Birdie & Kristy (unsure of second captains name). Friendly & fun , highly recommend
Captain Birdy and Christa were excellent guides, and the tour was fascinating! A gigantic cargo ship went by just as we were leaving the dock, and it was a bonus to follow it up river and watch the tugboats maneuver it into a spot at the port. We love to learn the details of infrastructure and logistics, and now we know many new things about container ships, ports, dredging, and the big plans Savannah has for the coming years. Capt. Birdy got us right up alongside ships and docks! The open-sides boat was perfect for viewing everything on both sides. It was chilly but they sent an advance message advising us to bring jackets. HIGHLY recommended!!
It was a great tour of the Savannah River Port. We got to see the Hugh cargo ships loading and unloading. It was very impressive how everything works together to bring cargo in and out of our country.
Bertie and Krista were great boat captains. They were very knowledgeable and informative. We were able to go under the stern of a ship and watch the cranes unloading shipping containers. This was a great insight into the transportation industry. Highly recommend!
Hands down the best tour we did. The port tour was very interesting. Connor and Skylar were great at sharing information about the port. Got right up under the large container ships which was a very cool experience. You can't go wrong with this tour!
Well informed captain and crew. Interesting information about both the ships and the port data. Definitely worth the trip.
Great experience. Very interesting and worth your time. Others in my group were unsure of what to think until we launched and they ended up loving it.
The tour is very, very informative. If you enjoy learning about the industry of the places that you visit. Captain is very knowledgeable and you get very, very close to these huge container cargo ships! It would really impress kids!
Unique and interesting tour of Savannah ports by Captain Conor and Skyllar! We got a deeper appreciation for how port logistics works and got to see a container ship up close. You get a cool behind the scenes perspective on what makes things run at the port, which are a key part of the Savannah economy. I’ve never seen any tour like this! As a bonus, we also saw an alligator eating a fish! One of the best tours we did in Savannah and would highly recommend it if you like to learn how things work in a port city!
Connor and Krista were so knowledgeable and entertaining. Learned all about the port activities along with a couple of other industries on the river. You really get up close to those huge shipping containers and can see a lot of the activity happening on land. Amazing experience. Highly recommend!
I've known Savannah was a port city my entire life and realized I didn't know much about the industries and shipping info but Tanner and Conner fixed that for us. We had a great time and learned alot.
The port tour was great. I did a dolphin tour out of Tybee island and a riverboat tour out of Savannah and this port tour was the best of the 3 by far. There were not a lot of passengers so we had tons of space and everyone was in the shade. The guides were great. The microphones were an appropriate volume so I was able to hear everything they said. They took us very close to everything they showed us. We saw ships being unloaded and loaded. We saw a ship being pushed into its space at the dock by tugboats. We drove right up under one of the ships so you can see the size. It was an excellent tour.
My husband was very interested in this tour, so I went and had a much more enjoyable trip than I thought I would. It was quite fascinating to see the inner workings of the port and I enjoyed the tour immensely. The guides were very entertaining and knowledgeable which just makes the tour great. Definitely worth the time and cost.
This is a WONDERFUL tour of the Georgia Port authority!! Captain Birdy and First Mate Peter are the absolute best!!! They provided so many amazing facts and such interesting information about the inner workings of the Savannah River industry. They are fun to be with and we will do this tour again with other friends and family who were not able to come this trip!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR!
Captain Birdie (sp?) and First Mate Jeff were outstanding! What a great morning. This is our 25th Anniversary weekend, and first time in Savannah. What a start! Lots of photo opportunities, and all questions were answered!
What an outstanding trip! We were scheduled with another vendor for the Port Tour Cruise but fortunately for our family we ended up with Connor and his crew mate! Their knowledge of the port, enthusiasm for answering the entire group's questions was fantastic -- we were thrilled we ended up on their cruise. If you are thinking about a port tour, BOOK IT THROUGH Savannah Harbor Cruises you will not be disappointed!!
The Port Tour was great-a very unique experience. It is obvious that the captain and crew have a sincere interest in the Port of Savannah and want to share that passion with their customers. Truly an enjoyable learning experience.
This tour...was as soooo interesting! It's such a different kind of tour...but it was probably one of our most favorite in our travels. It just captivated us. The history of Savannah's Port and all the massive cargo ships is soooo facsinating. We got to see all the massive cargo ships, the area for the also massive yachts, the paper mill, the sugar mill.... SEE! Who knew? The captain pulled us so close to the cargo ships, we could see them loading and unloading the containers. AND, we cruised under the hull of the ship! The ship and it's containers were literally OVER us. That was a thrill. It put is all into perspective how massive they really are. The commentary was seriously intriguing. Now get this.....we learned this port can't accommodate the largest ships. It's the bridge...it's too low. SO, they're gonna RAISE THE BRIDGE with the cables 10-20 feet. Incredible. These are the kinda things we learned...and we learned so much. We highly recommend this cruise with Savannah Harbor Cruises Excellent. Excellent. Excellent!
I went for a port tour with Captain Connor and Steven. My first and the most important observation is that they really love talking about Savannah and the port, and it shows. It feels like your good friends are telling you fun stories about their hometown. It is that much engaging and entertaining. I may be biased because I am really a fan of big transoceanic ships and enormous industrial sites that would fit in the Mad Max universe. There's plenty of that but you will also hear about the importance of the port for Savannah and its history. Just go and you won't regret it.
Captain Bernie and Sierra were very knowledgeable and friendly,We learned so much about the port, We also had the added treat os seeing dolphins, We were 5 minutes late but Captain Bernie waited for us, We really appreciated that,
Great time. We were up close to the ships. Unbelievable how big they are. Our captain was great and knowledgeable.
The trip was amazing. Captain and first mate were great!! Very knowledgeable on all the workings of the port and boats. Highly recommend
Super interesting and informative. I would recommend for anyone wanting to understand more about the large boats and ships in the river.
Very interesting and informative. Captain Rita and Mate Seara were knowledgeable and very friendly. Boat is comfortable, but small enough to fully explore the port. Highly recommended!
Highly recommend this tour. Boat is comfortable, but small enough to go everywhere in the port. Crew was knowledgeable and friendly.
Money and time well spent! Very informative and enjoyable tour. Offers an entirely different perspective then dry land tours. Excellent info on the ships and their loading/ unloading procedures. Hey when was the last time you were under a container ship with 24000 containers on it above you? One of the best Savannah experiences on our visits there.
