Itinerary
Get ready for some fun and learning! Our historian and guide will begin with exploration of the North beach and Savannah river as it was used by the indigenous of the Island 600 years ago. The tour offers stories and lore to recall the charms and whimsy of the island as she passed through indigenous, pirates, early English settlers, and now into modern days. The often overlooked North End Tybee holds a rich history about the settlers as well as military with the historical value and tales of Fort Screven. The open-air ride will surely place a smile on your face as you take in views that only a local would know, and stories that only a historian can tell with accuracy and passion.

This was a great experience. Jackie and her husband were wonderful tour guides. Jackie was so informative about the island and Georgia history. She was a walking encyclopedia!! I’m so glad we did this tour.
Jackie our guide was excellent, she was very knowledgeable of the history of the island and was very passionate about the island. I would highly recommend this tour.
First of all, book with the owner, Jacqueline!! She is so passionate and knowledgeable about the island. It's obvious she loves her work and we were mesmerized with her stories!! It made me want to move here tomorrow!! We have booked alot of tours in alot of cities and she is definitely the most personable and most informative ever.
The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the island and was willing to give us all the information about the island and its history
Such a great tour!!! Jacklyn, our guide, was FULL of energy, historical knowledge of Tybee Island, enthusiasm & a very strong speaking voice!!! Easy to hear and understand! Good sense of humor too! Riding a golf cart all over the island was a wonderful way to get around! Highly recommend!
It was a wonderful tour! Jackie was fun and informative. We had never been to Tybee Island, but I would love to come back and vacation there, thanks to Jackie!
A must do for your first time to Tybee Island. Loved the history and urban legends. Jackie was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about the area as well as a lot of fun. Highly recommend!!!
very comfortable golf cart; tour guide Jack very knowledgeable, fun and enthusiastic; just fyi this 100 character minimum is ridiculous- there should not be any minimum; how could this possibly make sense
Fun and informative. Jacqueline was very informative and truly loves her community and telling you about it.
Jacqueline was a superior guide. She was fun and funny and exceptionally knowledgeable. We had the best time and learning about the place we were visiting made us twice (or more) engaged with where we chose to vacation. So good. So worth it!
Excellent 👌👍 tour!!!!!!! I am bringing more people your way. This tour was so awesome 😎 that I want to move to Tybee Island.
This historical golf cart tour was fabulous! Jacqueline and her husband were fantastic and knowledgeable guides sharing loads of interesting stories and facts about the island and its inhabitants both past and present. It was a rainy day and they gave us the option to cancel through Viator / Trip Advisor, but there was no need. The golf carts are covered on top and they brought a beach towel and wiped down the seats before we stepped on board. We wore rain ponchos and had an umbrella, which came in handy for the side of the cart where the rain was blowing, and I had my own beach towel that kept my legs dry and warm. The rain didn’t spoil the fun! If you come prepared to have a great time, then you will! I was especially grateful that they stayed aware of the time because I had another activity scheduled for 30 minutes after the end of the tour. A couple of points: this tour meets at the popular Sugar Shack on the main drag and parking is there and free for folks on this tour. Also after the tour you get a discount at the ice cream / candy shop so that’s a sweet little bonus! I think if I had one suggestion it would be to specify in the description that the historical aspects of the island are all around the north beach area of town. I was hoping to go around the entire island but we stayed up north, which was plenty and everything I could have wanted but again I thought we’d also go the other direction and that just wasn’t part of the history. There was zero disappointment and all fun, even in the rain! I think my favorite part was driving down what was once the railroad track that came from Savannah, seeing an old piece of track they pointed out, and stoping to see the marsh at low tide and encountering an osprey that had picked up its lunch that Jacqueline noticed while she was speaking and shared with us. These folks are super friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!
Jac is an excellent tour guide! Very informative and fun! Very knowledgeable about tybees history I would highly recommend this tour!!
“Jack” was an amazing tour guide!
Great tour the tour director very knowledgeable in history of the area learned a lot about the historic monuments all the way up to present day my husband and I look forward to coming back and visiting some of the museums when we have more time the door director recommended local restaurant which was delicious really enjoyed. It definitely recommended it when we went back to the campground to others thank you, Roxanne and Chris Dellinger.
Amazing! Jacqueline amazing guide. So personable and knowledgeable. I would recommend without hesitation. I saw others renting a golf cart but they just drive around saying “oh, look at, with not much of an idea of what they are looking at. We knew what we were looking at. She was an encyclopedia of Tybee Island and its history! Don’t think about it, just book it and enjoy.
This was golf cart tour was OUTSTANDING! Jacylin is the owner and operator. She should be named the island’s mascot! Jacylin is a former history teacher and full time resident. Her knowledge, enthusiasm, and engaging personality provided us with an enjoyable and highly informative tour of the island! She also recommended Bubba Gumbo’s for our lunch and it too, was outstanding! If you are traveling to Tybee Island, this tour should be the first thing you book!
We all loved this tour. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and very friendly We would highly recommend this tour
Jacilyn and Lars have a great love for Tybee and it pours on others. We loved it and learned so much about this quaint island. We look forward to coming back and visit again. Thank you!

Very insightful tour, the guide is so much fun and full of knowledge! We had an awesome time! We would do it again
Great time. Very friendly guides. Was helpful with any type of questions we had about the island. Highly recommend
Amazing experience touring this beautiful island. Jaclyn was EXCELLENT guide; so full of information, engagement and energy. She LOVES Tybee and it shows. Was so impressed with her knowledge and how well she conveyed that the locals are so close to one another and love their island as well. Can't wait to go back!
We used the Veteran discount for $12 each. Parking was free, with security. They said the Coast Guard does not allow book bag style bags or book bags period. We were not given an explanation why. So, leave that in your trunk eor at home. The lighthouse's A/C wasn't working and it was a little warm inside. They do not have an elevator. Yes, you need to walk the 178 steps to the top. Sorry, no benches inside. You can walk all around the balcony of the lighthouse. The view is beautiful and you can see the ocean and Battery Brumby at Fort Screven, c1898 which now holds the Tybee Island Museum. I can't give details because we weren't told about it when we purchased the tickets. Oh Well,
Jackie provided an informative and lively tour of Tybee Island. She captured the history and evolution of the island and it's inhabitants over the centuries. Golf cart tour visited historical sites, including the lighthouse and fort, which has been repurposed into contemporary housing. She gave a flavor of the island which only a "local-ish" can do! Her presentation gave a context to our visit! My husband has kayaked for years at Tybee and found his visits only touched the surface of this unique island. Jackie is informative and passionate about Tybee. Highly recommend!
Our guide had a history background and was a local resident of the island. She was extremely informative. Excellent tour.
The tour was awesome! Jackie & Lars made it fun and very informative! Will definitely do this tour again on my next trip to Tybee Island.

Most informative & fun. Jacqueline was terrific. Saw parts of Tybee that we never knew existed. Fort Screven was very interesting.
Awesome. Fun. A lot sightseeing to see and information. My tour guide was very informative. I had a great time.
Don't arrive too early. You have to pay to park anywhere on the island except at the meeting point, the Sugar Shack. This is a golf cart tour bring a way, sunglasses and sunscreen. The guide was very knowledgeable and personable.
Wow! What a great experience! I didn't have a clue at all the history of Tybee Island I would learn. Our guide (forgive me, I forgot her name) was amazing. A former history professor...she knew her stuff! I would highly recommend this tour.
I highly recommend this tour. Very informative about Tybee and its history. Our guide was extremely nice!
The guides were absolutely wonderful! They were extremely friendly and knowledgeable!
Great experience! Jacqueline was incredibly knowledgeable and very proud to share about the island. We ended up being the only ones on the tour on at this particular time, so it was lovely to have a "private" tour experience. Bring lots of water if you're visiting during the summer. The humidity/heat is brutal.
This tour was worth every penny! Jack was an amazing guide. She made it so interesting & informative. Definitely a must-do when visiting Tybee💛
Great! Very informative, fun facts, great hosts. Easy and comfortable ride. Something different to experience.
Amazingly knowledgeable tour guide with a ton of insight. A lot of history packed into a tiny island.
History rich, brought to life by enthusiastic host. You are taken by golf carts around tybee, but at a safe speed with careful drivers.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour today! Jaqueline was our tour guide and Eleanor was our driver. They were both knowledgeable, funny and nice. We always did tours in Savannah so we were excited to do one on Tybee. So glad we did! We learned so much! Highly recommend!
