Did not work as described. The app and GPS didn’t work well in Savannah. I wanted it to work, but it did not automatically give you a story as you reached every blue dot on the map. Waste of time and money. I had adequate IOS and charge on my phone. I think the buildings in Savannah threw the GPS off. I bought one for my husband also. His phone was newer. I found the whole experience frustrating and wasteful. Take a trolley tour! I couldn’t do it with my golden retriever.

I had never done a self-guided audio tour before so was unsure what to expect - however thought for around 12 USD I would give it a try. The booking process and instructions for using the app that supports the tour were comprehensive and easy to follow. The app worked well and was intuitive to use - the technology that automatically started the relevant part of the audioguide once you reached a particular destination worked seamlessly for me. Rather than start the tour at the ‘official’ start point I began (and ended) around half way round the tour (as it was the closest point to my hotel), which worked absolutely fine. The tour itself took an interesting route and got the balance of information provided about right. There were enough interesting facts without information overload. I spent around 3.5 hours following the tour, but that included a stop for a coffee and cake break and a detour around Forsythe park. The other side benefit of the tour was that it took me past a number of local restaurants that I would not otherwise have known about, which I returned to later on my trip. In summary I thought this was good value for money and provided a much better structure to a morning in Savannah than wandering around with a guide book - highly recommended!
We really enjoyed the self guided tour. We were able to go at our own pace and the audio was very informative and easy to follow the directions. This was our first self guided experience, but definitely won’t be our last!
Excellent self guided tour. Very easy to use. Highly recommended
Was a little glitchy, but manageable. Overall a great experience
Very nice way to tour and learn about some sights in the city. Great to be able to go at your own pace.
We especially enjoyed several aspects of this tour. This is our second tour purchase, and both have been informative, concise, and thoughtfully inclusive. We appreciated the holistic approach to history that highlights the contributions and experiences of people beyond just white male figures. The flexibility was another highlight. We could pause, rewind, pick up where we left off, and listen to the “Learn More” sections when time allowed. It gave us a cohesive overview while also helping us get to know the city simply by walking through it. There are also optional stops if you want to explore even more. It took us two days to complete the tour since the first half alone is over three miles. We love that we can move at our own pace instead of following a group and potentially missing parts of the narration. Next time, we’d bring earbuds so we could each listen comfortably. 🎧
The tour was informative, organized, well thought out, however, it is a lot of walking, but you definitely experience the feel of the city.
The guide worked. Just needed a warmer day! It was in the low 40’s with winds off the river—not the best day to do a walking tour outside.
This self-guided audio tour was hands down the best decision we made during our visit! It offered the perfect mix of engaging stories and the freedom to explore Savannah’s charming streets at our own pace. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a flexible, high-quality experience!
As we strolled through historic Savannah, this app gave us pertinent information regarding the sites we visited as we visited them. Although the app provided directions for a walking tour, we used it as we casually strolled through historic Savannah. The app was fully interactive with our current location. By downloading the app ahead of time and familiarizing myself with it, I was able to view the storyline, preview the sites, and listen to the audio or read the text. Since I have access to the app for 1 year, I reviewed the information again on our way home from Savannah & intend to use it on a revisit. Well worth the investment and the few minutes of time acquainting myself with it! Thank you!
This claims you can start from anywhere and it will find you and pull that up, however, not true. We tried to use it in several spots and it was always on a different number and not giving information on what we were in front of. Save your money and get a map and use that. We saw more people trying to make it work and everyone we saw was frustrated also. Totally not worth anything.
I really can’t rate this one. I paid for snd downloaded it, but never used it. The cod area is lovely and we ended up just walking around with a free map from the visitor’s center.
Jamie was amazing and shared so much information on our Midnight in the Garden pub crawl. Savannah is so beautiful at night.
Very nice historic house close to everything. Hostess/in keeper was especially nice and went above and beyond.
This was a good tour that allowed you to go at your own pace. It is rather long so allow plenty of time. The directions are really good most of the time. We did have to make some detours around construction.
We stoped at all 68 stops. Interesting information and add ons. It talks while you walk, stops when you do so you can stop for lunch. 18,000. Steps. Great stops!
It was a highlight of our trip. The app worked great and great historical information! The app directs you to the exact location and automatically starts telling you the history when u reach the historical points.
I absolutely loved this tour! this was my first time doing an audio, and I don't think I will ever go back to a group tour again. so great to be able to do it on your own timeline, duck into a store if you wish to, get right back at it. It was really great with really clear instructions. You do not even have to keep an eye on your phone the directions were very clear, so you can just look around and take in all of the information on the audio! Fantastic!
Great way to view city on your own at your own time at your own rate and speed. It's also a good way to get your steps in!
Easy to use Download was quick Auto location was very convenient Lots of locations to walk to and the flow was simple.
Audio tours are great because they allow you to travel at you own pace. We spent the day shopping and seeing things on the tour that we enjoyed along with eating lunch. We started and stopped the tour as things popped up. Great tour allowing us to progress as we saw fit.
App could be improved. Providing relative distance to the next turn in the narrative would be nice. The map kept collapsing, even with a good signal, and had to be reopened many times, frustrating!
The Tour is a great way to discover the heart of the oldest city in Georgia. You can stroll along cobblestoned streets and past all kinds of cute shops and restaurants on the beautiful riverfront. You can admire beautifully preserved historic architecture and get to know Savannah’s most influential residents of days past.
