Very good information about the little known events that occurred in Savannah during the Civil War. Our guide was an area native who provided a lot of extra information about other historical markers during our tour.

Our guide, Pierce M, was outstanding with his knowledge and presentation of Civil War and Savannah history. He gave a compact, high volume/rapid flow of facts that had me wishing we got prepared notes, but it lived up to the title for sure. If you know some of the history it’s easier to appreciate and absorb the details he presented, but even if you don’t you’d still get a lot out of it. I’d recommend having a piece of paper and a pen to take notes of suggested places referenced in passing to check out afterwards, good restaurants, etc. The walking part was very easy. It was uniquely good and an excellent use of our limited time in Savannah.

We really enjoyed this very informative tour. Kelse was very knowledgeable and the 2 hours passed too quickly! We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah that wants to hear the stories of the war of the states as it pertains to Savannah.
Pearce our tour guide was amazing. His wealth of knowledge in history was bar none having studied the subject in college. He was very open to questions and made it clear we could ask him anything about Savannah, not just the historical facts but on where to go and other things to do around the city. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend to all looking to understand the rich history of the city. We also agree with Pearce that a tour about the Revolutionary War would be a good addition to the tours offered as there is plenty of that history as well in Savannah. The Civil War tour got cancelled. So I went on a general history tour of Savannah. Our guide was excellent and so knowledgeable. I learned so much and very much enjoyed it.
Champ was very knowledgeable and an excellent communicator. He encourages dialogue and enjoys answering questions. Champ was very good at providing context as well as relevant historical perspectives. A+
Loved the Civil War History Tour! It was informative and fun. I’m a history nerd, but my husband also enjoyed it. It’s not every tour where you get an actual history professor!! Our guide was also attentive to keeping a good pace, but provided time and shade breaks since the heat and humidity were stifling. I appreciated knowing the events that happened in Savannah, and the homes and buildings where they happened(and where they didn’t!) I highly recommend the walking tour.

The tour was so so informative. It was a walking history lesson. The timing was perfect at 2 hours and covered historical sites and the connections to the civil war, why it was significant and included stories specific to the sites and historical figures. the mic and ear pieces was a nice touch so we can hear every detail. the walking route was flat and easy. Highly recommend.
Pierce was our tour guide and wow, he was fantastic! He knows his stuff and made sure when possible we all stood in the shade, which was good because it was sunny, hot and humid! We learned a lot we didn't know about the civil war. Highly recommend.

Ask a lot of questions! The tour guide was very knowledgeable. Bring a lot of water. There were times where you could sit for a few while the guide talked and a place for a bathroom stop half way through. Also, lots of info about the plants along the way.
Our guide was a professor of Civil War history and was very informative. We enjoyed the tour very much! Explained things in easy to understand terms and answered all questions.
I LOVED this tour! My parents were with me, and one has a hearing impairment- this was completely ameliorated by the earpiece issued to each participant. From this tour, we sought other experiences, loving each one- the Mercer House, the Six Pence Pub, and an amazing bookstore, E. Shavers Booksellers…all because of our guide! I can’t say enough about our guide! Amazing☺️

Sister Patt is very knowledgeable about her topic. Her research in the area is well thought out, explained, and easy to understand. She’s an incredible storyteller. I highly recommend her tours as she also addresses any questions that you might have and if she doesn’t have the answer, she’s willing to go research and get back to you. We did both the Savannah history tour and Civil War tour. Got lucky to have Pierce for both and he was fantastic! Highly recommend both. There’s a little overlap but not much and what there is gets a mostly different emphasis depending on the tour.
We really enjoyed the tour. Our guide was great. We really enjoyed that the tour focused on Savannah Civil War history. If it hadn't rained the whole time it would have been a tad more enjoyable but overall great tour. We had a wonderful time.

This tour is excellent! Our tour guide provided a lot of historical information in a way that shows the complex and layered nuances of the causes of the Civil War. We have taken many tours around the world. Our guide was perhaps the best of all!
Fun and informative!! Several opportunities to sit and rest in one of the squares while the guide talked. We were blessed with a beautiful day and the two hours went quickly.
It’s a great experience and very informative. We liked how he educated on why and how blacks became slave owners some in part were family members although we know some owned others but It’s never shared the reasons and we appreciated that.

Our guide Pierce was an extremely well-versed and well-read historian of Savannah’s unique history, its landmarks, and Civil War history. We thoroughly enjoyed his delivery and stories about the various generals and commanding officers as well as in-depth info about each landmark on the tour. Would definitely recommend this tour for any history buff!

Civil War history yes, but much more. A history of Savannah and its place in history. And, a wise guide who made it informative and well worth the time.
Super interesting and a very knowledgeable tour guide. We saw the entire historic district and learned so much. There was a lot of walking (which we love) but some people in the group got pretty tired.
