Bonaventure is an amazing cemetery ; beautiful, peaceful, and full of history. A deep dive into some of the families interred here, and some ‘behind the scenes’ scandals, made our experience even more interesting. Our Guide, Meredith, was AWESOME!! Go to Bonaventure, and book Meredith if you can. You will be glad you did!

Several people were confused about the meeting location. Also, you need to wear good walking shoes. It's a bit of a walk. Great tour.
Truly great experience. So much history and a great guide! Plenty of time for pictures.
Meredith, our guide, was awesome. She was super knowledgeable, funny, insightful, and made the time fly by . Best tour guide!
We really enjoyed our tour and tour guide, Meredith was awesome. Very informative and responsive to questions. Enjoyed it immensely
Our host, Janine, was terrific. Very knowledgable and told wonderful stories scout the families and facts of the grave yard. We learned so much and were moved. It was everything we expected plus more. Janine was so fun, personable and connected with our group. Even in the pouring rain, she did t miss a beat!
Meredith was great! Very knowledgeable and witty!
Our tour guide, Pascal, was extremely knowledgeable of the subject matter and was very engaging as a guide. He is a long-time resident of Savannah with family buried in the cemetery and his enthusiasm for the subject matter and love of the city really shine through. It was a great way to learn the true history of Savannah going waaaaay back in an interesting and entertaining way. We would all definitely go back for more. The cemetery itself is also interesting and beautiful.
Hannah is such a knowledgeable and fantastic guide! I booked this tour at the last minute and it turned out to be the highlight of my trip. Highly recommend, definitely worth every penny! ❤️
Hannah Welling was a wonderful guide yesterday morning! There were 4 people on our tour that lasted about 2 hours. Unique stories and symbolism of grave sites and The Book. Would recommend highly!
Paschal was awesome! He was engaging smart and knowledgeable of the cemetery
Hannah was awesome. So knowledgeable and enthusiastically explained everything.
Great walking tour of the cemetary. Pascal was a wonderful guide and very knowledgeable and friendly. He shared much about the cemetary, the people buried there and the symbolism everywhere. Highly recommend!
Very informative and engaging tour of this beautiful cemetery. Paschal was very knowledgeable, funny and showed us neat little things that we would’ve never noticed without him. I would definitely recommend this tour with him to anyone.
Paschal was terrific, his knowledge is extensive and his commentary was in-depth and so interesting. He welcomed questions and was so amiable and courteous, the 2 hours with him just flew by. Of all the tours guides we engaged during our Savannah visit, he was hands-down the best; our only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend with him. Simply the best!!!
Our tour guide was Paschal and he was amazing! He knows his stuff and he has great energy and a personality to boot. You can tell he truly loves what he does and his home city. He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and one of those people you would love to have a drink with and just listen to him tell stories for hours. Something tells me he’s got MANY good ones to share! I’ve never called a Cemetery a magical place before, but Bonaventure is. It’s stunning. Full of history. Either get there early or plan to stay after, because it is massive and I promise you’ll want to explore more than what the tour time allows. Take the tour, you won’t regret it. Paschal we’ll be seeing you again! - Two Mainers
The cemetery itself was beautiful with azaleas and wisteria in bloom, but our guide Hannah really made the experience memorable. She was enthusiastic, welcoming and gave a nicely paced tour with great stories at each stop. So glad we did the walking tour as we watched the golf cart tours breeze by without making the stops we were making.
Hannah was an excellent guide! I was a little dubious about touring a cemetery but she did a wonderful job tying in Savannah history, names and places.
Pascal was super knowledgeable about the history of Savannah and the cemetery. He doesn’t spread folklore or ghost stories. There’s no need when the historical accounts are so interesting. The pace was good. We moved along while still having time to capture great photos. I’d love to go on tours with him at Savannah’s other historic cemeteries.
Excellent tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide! I enjoyed knowing more about the history of Savannah and Bonaventure Cemetery! The flowers and gardens in the cemetery were beautiful in March!!
Great tour with Hannah. She’s a wonderful storyteller We were a small group and she did an excellent job of sharing the history of notables buried here. As a lover of the book Midnight in the Garden of Evil I was happy with the visits to gravesites central to the book. There were a ton of biting bugs the day we visited and thankful that Hannah brought bug spray for us.
The walking tour was the right length and our guide, Hannah, was excellent! Her knowledge was outstanding and she very patiently answered our many questions.
Hannah was a great tour guide. She even spent an extra 20 minutes with our group of 6. Highly recommend this tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Bonaventure Cemetery tour with Hannah. Her depth of knowledge, including of so many Savannah people, families, and events, made the cemetery come alive (pun intended). Her enthusiasm was infectious, and we were frankly quite surprised when the two hours was over. We highly recommend this tour for a better understanding of interesting Savannah history.
Very nice and informative tour. Our Guide Janine was very lovely and knowledgeable. Even though the weather was on the rainy side she stuck with us and finished the tour. Would definitely recommend.
Our Tour guide Hannah was passionate and incredibly knowledgeable made the experience incredibly enjoyable and captivating. If it’s your first time in Savannah this is a great place to start your trip.
Excellent tour! Tour guide was so knowledgeable and captivating with all of her stories. I was mesmerized!
This was hands-down one of the best tours we’ve ever done in Savannah. We have visited Bonaventure several times but never took an organized tour. We are so happy we did. So much to learn!! And Pascal our guide was amazing!!
Really wonderful tour of Bonaventure with Scott! He led us around at the perfect pace and shared so much history!
We loved this tour! Hanna was full of knowledge and very interesting stories! There didnt seem to be a question she couldnt answer, even about things not usually included on the tour. Having a historian do your tour is the way to go. Pick this one and request Hanna:)
We had a great experience. Very informative and able to answer a lot of questions. Would use them again. Wonderful time of year to go beginning of Nov.
Beautiful place with so much history. Tour guide was okay but leaned more on fiction and folklore than facts which is disappointing in a place so rich on history.
Very informative. Guide was pleasant and interesting … a local so knew a lot of fun facts. Such a serene environment. I’m glad we walked instead of golf cart as I like to get up close to observe the details.
My friend and I loved this tour of the cemetary. There is so much history! Our guide Hannah did a fantastic job describing the various stories and legends of some of Savannah's most prominent families, as well as some of Savannah's more unvory characters. Well worth the money, I highly recommend!
Ken was a wonderful tour guide. A native of Savannah. Very respectful of the family plots. Lots of interesting information, theories about headstones, and wealth of historical knowledge. Highly recommend his tour.
Loved this historic tour! We learned a lot about the history of the people who lived in Savannah and about the meaning of the symbolism of this burial place. Ken is a great guide!
We had a great tour! Our guide, Hannah was super knowledgeable about Bonaventure. Highly recommend if you’ve never been before.
Hannah was just a fountain of interesting information about Savannah, the people who built it and were buried in this cemetery. She does her own research and finds fascinating little known facts. You can she loves doing this as her side gig. We didn't realize a cemetery could be so interesting.
Hannah is the best tour guide I’ve ever experienced. She expertly weaves stories together to give you context and historically accurate information. As a Savannah local I have been on many tours, both in this cemetery and within the city itself. If you can only take one tour while visiting this city, you should take this one. You will be amazed, educated, and thrilled with the way Hannah conveys her knowledge.
Scott was an amazing tour guide. He is so knowledgeable and we learned a lot! Thank you for the great experience.
Loved this tour so much. Not only was it interesting but Hannah took it to the next level. She was knowledgeable and made the tour beyond enjoyable. She made this a history lesson and it was wonderful.
It was a great tour. Well worth the price. Our tour guide was great. Well enjoyed the tour and learned a lot.
Paschal was a passionate guide and share the history of Savannah as we toured the cemetery. He made it a wonderful experience!
The guide through Bonaventure cemetary was very interesting and well paced. Janine was very knowledgeable of the history of those buried there.
Really enjoyed our tour of this gorgeous cemetery and extraordinary piece of history. Ken was a true historian who shared interesting stories and fascinating histories about some of the people and families who rest there. My only wish is that I would have watched or read Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil, however we are watching the movie now to give a bit more background to the true events Ken provided insight into. We had Ken to ourselves that day and we so appreciated his time and sharing his knowledge.
Our guide was prompt(early!) and extremely knowledgeable. She led us through the gorgeous cemetery imparting a great deal of information and interesting history. At the end of our tour she gave us fun little stickers too!
A very informative and pleasant tour; we enjoyed it very much and highly recommend it to others. The guide was very nice and knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the fates of the people resting there, symbolism in grave decorations and local folk lore. A very good combination and we are very much satisfied with the whole experience.
Paschal was a wonderful guide. He was so knowledgeable in the history of Bonaventure and Savannah. We would love to go back and do more of the cemetery with him. He even brought bug spray which we had forgotten. He also recommended a restaurant close by which was the best!
Paschal was an amazing tour guide for the Bonaventure cemetery. This tour was exactly what we were looking for when traveling to Savannah.
We enjoyed an extremely interesting and informative tour with our highly professional guide, Pascal. His non-scripted presentation style coupled with a very welcoming attitude to questions from the group made for an engaging, memorable experience. This is the Bonaventure tour to take!
