Bonaventure Cemetery & Wormsloe State Historic Site Tour

This is a fabulous tour and Dennis was an amazing tour guide. He was super funny, cordial and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire day.

Albert was very knowledgeable and nice. While the places were interesting, the amount of time was too long. It would have been good to have some time to explore a bit on our own along with the guided part. The lunch place had good food, but it took a long time. They had trouble keeping up with the amount of people that came in at one time. We had an okay time but would not do it again.

Albert was very knowledgeable of the tourist stops. I felt like we had plenty of time to explore without feeling rushed. I learned a lot on this tour! Plus we got to stop at Byrd’s Cookies!! Would recommend!

Albert was an amazing source of facts, he knew the wars, the key players and dates off the top of his head. He put together a great day for our group. I have been coming to SAV for years and had been to most of the places on our stops, but enjoyed them much more with him as our guide. My family’s first trip to visit Savannah was great. Thank you!

Our guide was knowledgeable and kind, but may have added on 2 extra stops of his own volition. These stops were not advertised, and consequently, instead of the tour ending at 3pm as advertised, it was closer to 4pm. This played havoc with our late afternoon plans. The stop at the Wormsloe State Historical site was advertised as “Plantation”. We were nowhere near the plantation. Saw nothing of it. Be warned that this is simply a state park with a few minor exhibits. Not worth the time. It felt as if the guide was trying to stretch out the tour.

Guide was excellent. He was knowledgeable and kept the trip entertaining. 10/10!

Ashley was our guide and driver. She was very gracious and so knowledgeable of the area, the history and the people. It was quite apparent that she truly loves Savannah. Our lunch stop was so good!

Great service and if you get Albert be ready for an amazing tour and great information and educational info!!! He was excellent.

This trip was extensive in length of time and activity. Our first stop was at the cemetery which was extremely well narrated by Dennis who was also our driver for the day. He discussed the history and the stories of many prominent people who were important in the city’s early years and now rest in this cemetery. In the afternoon, we traveled to the Wormsloe Historic site and learned about the history of this beautiful place. Dennis was again instrumental in giving us the information we needed to understand the importance of this plat of land for Savannah. This tour is well worth the six hour trip and the in-depth coverage of the two sites visited. Of note is the fact that there was time made for our self pay lunch at Erica Davis’ Low Country restaurant.

Dennis was an amazing tour guide! He was energetic, funny, and made the entire experience so much fun. His great personality and enthusiasm kept everyone entertained throughout the tour. I had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this experience to others!

I would really recommend this tour. Both the cemetery and the historic site were interesting to visit and combine very well into a single day tour. The guide Dennis was very knowledgeable and good at communicating the history of the sites and also facts about the local area. I would highly recommend.

Dennis was a great tour guide! Very knowledgeable about Bonaventure Cemetery and Wormsloe Historic Site, as well as a lot of other local history of the areas. The restaurant selected for lunch was also very good.

Our day was great. Our guide Albert was so knowledgeable. He knew so much history. I definitely recommend this tour and him. The cemetery and Wormsloe were absolutely beautiful.

The guide was amazing and hilarious as he described the history of how the cemetery and manor came to be. The stop at Byrd’s cookies at the end was a great way to wrap up the trip.

Great tour. Ashley was our tour guide - she entertained with whacky humour at the periphery but was all business, totally informed and passionate about her subject when it came to the site visits - a super blend that made for an entertaining and most informative tour. We really enjoyed it! The restaurant chosen for lunch was very good and the quick visit to the cookie factory at the end hit rounded all off nicely! Strongly recommend!

Took the bonaventure and wormsloe site tour with Dennis and had an amazing experience with very informative and fascinating history discussions. I found this to be the best tour I have been on. Dennis has such a passion for the history and the sites and it shows! We loved his humor and personality we were actually sad when it was over. He remembered everyone’s name and really made the tours and information so interactive and fun. Lunch was also very delicious! Highly recommend this tour especially with Dennis. Whenever we come back to Savannah we will be booking another tour hopefully with Dennis as the guide!

Phenomenal tour and tour guide! Dennis is a local treasure, full of local history and lore. Very witty and funny, he kept our group of 35 peeps laughing all day. I am not a passenger princess and am weird about riding with people. Dennis kept me laughing so much, I never once regretted my husband Ron booking this tour!

We wanted to experience some of the sights and history outside of Savannah’s historic district. This tour was fantastic! Two beautiful locales steeped in history with an amazing lunch stop in between. Our guide, Dennis, was a wealth of knowledge. He was fun, entertaining, and kept us on schedule. The complimentary pick up/drop off at our hotel was an added bonus. Highly recommend!

Dennis, driver/guide did an excellent job with setting up the tour expectations, sharing stories and always checking in to see how “y’all” are doing. Very knowledgeable on the tour.

Tour was ok. Give us more places to visit in the cemetery. I also needed to know more about the history of Wormsloe and Cemetery and less about check books and Byrd’s toasted pumpkin cookies. Crazy rain too- not the guide’s fault. Guide also needs to mic up.

Excellent . Dennis was a very knowledgeable tour guide pretty much a walking encyclopedia eventhough the amount of info that was shared was a bit overwhelming and the amount of time on the bus was a bit excessive. But he was so kind to drop us off at our hotel I must say this really made up for any negatives that I may have been able to come up with. Overall excellent!

Was not what we expected, all history we had heard on earlier city tours with little to no haunting or ghosts stories

I was picked up and dropped off at my hotel right on time with clear instructions. Tim, our guide and driver, was excellent. He told a ton of interesting stories about Savannah's history and former residents. He also kept the energy up despite the scorching Georgia sun! The tour was well-organized and well-run.

We had a great time on the Tybee Island Dolphin Tour! 🐬 Bridgette was amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience so much fun. Highly recommend the tour, especially with Bridgette!

This was a fantastic tour. Dennis was incredibly knowledgeable, fun, kind, and accommodating. Had ponchos for when it was raining and also provided water bottles and bug spray. This is a must do for your Savannah trip!

Brenda was a fantastic tour guide!! Very well knowledgeable and funny. The whole experience was amazing! I could do all morning/evening at Tybee island! The dolphin tour was fabulous! The staff were friendly. Crab Shack was well worth it! Food delicious 😋.

Great experience. Even though it was over 100 degrees, Dennis made sure everyone was hydrated and feeling good. His knowledge of the area was extensive and he made the tour pleasant.

AWESOME tour Worth the Time and money, our guide was Dennis he was Fantastic so much info he shared with us and Dennis packed a huge bag of Ice Cold waters for everyone. Bonaventure Cemetery is so Beautiful it's a must see, Wormsloe is another must see... in between stops Dennis took us to a Local Restaurant Erica Davis Lowcountry WOW the Food was Amazing this is a must book tour!!!

Our tour guide Dennis did an outstanding job on our tour. He has done so much research on Savannah, the cemetery and various families buried there that he can easily provide an in depth history and immediately answer most any question asked

Great day with Dennis even though it rained through the cemetery.Dennis was well equipped with ponchos for us and we were a hardy group. So much history and info. I thought it would seem long but it wasnt ..Unless I missed it ..I only saw info about lunch in the reviews..but you do stop for a fabulous lunch..on your own around 11: 30.Cutest spot, great food. A very fun day, and LOVE the pick up and drop off.

My husband and I did the half day tour of Bonaventure Cemetery and Wormsloe state historic site. Our tour guide Dennis was absolutely fantastic! He was very informative and entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we saw and heard. We highly recommend this tour. He provided lots of water on the hot and humid Georgia summer day but it never dampened his spirits or ours. He is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the area and places we visited. Thank you so much, Dennis!

This was a very worthwhile tour. The tour bus picked us up right by our VRBO which was very convenient. We had an appropriate amount of time at both venues, learned some very interesting tidbits about history, saw some of the most famous graves at Bonaventure, and got great photos down the roadway of live oaks at Wormsloe. Lunch at the Driftaway Cafe was very enjoyable, and the final stop at Byrd's Cookies was fun and delicious. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to visit both Bonaventure and Wormsloe.

He was very thoughtful of the children in our group and made sure their questions were answered. Lunch at Erica Davis Low country was one of the best meals we have had in Savannah. The Wormsloe visit (Dennis knows his history) was interesting, but made so much better by the appearance of sandcrabs and armadillos! The stop at Mrs. Byrd's cookies, made sure we had something to take home for to our family. We will have a taste of Savannah, through cookies at our next family gathering.
