Dawn Martin did a wonderful job being our tour guide. She was so informative in explaining everything and she was also entertaining. She even sang to us.

This was amazing. I loved all the effects. Otto was very good at putting an act on. He played the role quite well. I felt it gave a very good quality of spookiness to things and was equally as entertaining. There was also of course a great deal of humor that I enjoyed thoroughly. Overall, first class tour. I encourage others to take it. Otto is very pleasant and polite about things.
Interesting and beautiful. Our tour guide Steven was very knowledgeable and funny! We enjoyed learning about the local history.
Tour was very interesting, guide had lots of cool information about the cemetary and many of the gravestones and people.
Beautiful grounds. Our guide, Dawn Martin, was a great and knowledgeable guide teaching us the stories of families buried here and the old symbolizms regarding the plots and carved headstones for burial protocols.
Absolutely fantastic tour! Our guide Dawn has lived her whole life in Savannah and knows so much history and was so engaging the 2 hours flew by. Seriously one of the best walking tours I have ever been on. A true must do when visiting Savannah!!
Dawn is the BEST guide. So very informative, fun, easy to hear in a group setting and well paced. Absolutely recommend!
Excellent tour. guide was knowledgeable and friendly walking tour was the best way to see the cemetery would highly recommend
I had a tour with Dawn of Savannah's dead. In my opinion, she was one of the best tour guides I've ever had! She was so knowledgeable and just knows so much about the history of not only the cemetery but Savannah itself, growing up and being raised there. I honestly felt like the two hours flew by and I wish I could've stayed and seen so much more. I highly recommend booking a tour with Dawn. She is the best!!
This was a great tour! I initially considered walking the cemetery on my own, but chose to go with a tour. I’m so glad I did! Chris was a great guide-very knowledgeable. I learned so much about the history of Savannah and surrounding areas. The walk was easy and the 2 hours flew by! I definitely recommend this tour.
I wasn't clear on what we signed up for, but I really enjoyed the information and our tour guide. The history was wonderful, the artwork (masonry) was incredible. and our guide was full of great information, and I totally loved the "dad jokes" and puns. I was expecting a spooky tour and was a little disappointed that there were no ghost stories. However, the history and fun tour guide made up for the lack of spooky. Thank you for a wonderful adventure.
2 hours of walking but plenty of stops. “Dawn” was a very knowledgeable tour guide with 19 years experience. Not only was she from the area, she knew the Victorian funeral protocols having been in the funeral business for years. She was a fascinating story teller with years, people, dates, & facts of the history of Savannah, GA. In addition, she was a professional singer & it was a delight to have her sing at Johnny Mercer’s graveside. Singing his award winning tunes & knew a descendent of the Mercer family. Dawn was available for questions & so pleased that we lucked out with her as our tour guide. Kudos to Dawn on a job well done.
The tour guide was entertaining and kept the pace going. Very interesting stories about the gravesites. The statues in this cemetery are beautiful and worth the work through. The guide just gives it a little more spooky vibes.
Our tour guide was very informative and personable. We had a great time hearing all about the beautiful Bonaventure cemetery. Def will be back in the future out do other tours with this company.
Our guide Chris was exceptional. He was enthusiastic, professional and extremely knowledgeable- He obviously loves his job
Stephen was an incredible tour guide — knowledgeable, fun, and a flair for the dramatic. Would absolutely recommend this tour.
The guide Dawn was very informative. She did a great job and you can tell she is very passionate about her job. Very refreshing to see someone enjoy what they do.
Steve was a wonderful tour guide for this beautiful cemetery. He led a large group well through this historic cemetery, giving information that all could hear well and spiced it up with jokes and, at times, dramatic delivery. The cemetery is a must see for those who love cemeteries. And if you don’t, go for the art sculptures. They are beautiful.
The cemetery was beautiful. The guide was knowledgeable and entertaining!!
Good value for price. Our guide had plenty of history to offer. He leaned a little too much into the corny dad jokes, but he was transparent about it so no harm no foul. He offered bug spray which was a genius idea.
Dawn was great. She showed true knowledge of the history. We enjoyed learning about the history.
Really enjoyed this tour with Chris around the beautiful Bonaventure Cemetary in Savannah. Super friendly and enthusiastic guide who was happy to interact and answer questions as we spent a couple of hours wandering around the graveyard. The only thing we noticed was that after then doing some additional reading following the tour, some uncomfortable history was omitted when it came to the North/South divide - one example being, the aftermath of Sherman's march down to Savannah which could have added context to why the South was 'bitter to the end' - we travelled from overseas and don't have a horse in the race on these topics, so whilst expected nowadays, is always interesting. Great morning though and would absolutely go again.
It was a wonderful tour! Dawn was a fantastic guide, filled with so much information and love for Savannah and sharing it's history. Would absolutely recommend!
Chris was an outstanding tour guide at Bonaventure Cemetery. From the start he was warm and welcoming, and his knowledge of Savannah history and the cemetery's notable residents made the tour genuinely captivating rather than just informative. He kept the group engaged throughout with a great sense of humor. We visited during peak summer heat and humidity, and Chris came prepared, handing out water and bug spray to keep everyone comfortable. That kind of thoughtfulness made a real difference. Highly recommend booking with him if you're visiting Bonaventure.
Excellent tour with Dawn! She gave a great perspective on culture, history, and burial traditions. Learned a lot on the 2 hour walking tour!
We had a great tour. Steven was very knowledgeable about the history of the cemetery and the surrounding area. He kept it interesting and entertaining. He had great stories to tell. Although it was a very warm day, we had a lot of shady spots which helped. Our guide was so thoughtful -he even offered bug spray because we forgot ours. Yes there are bugs out there but it wasn’t bad. The tour lasted just under two hours and that was plenty of time to see so much.
We had a great time during our tour of the Bonaventure cemetery. Stephen was a great guide and extremely informative and made it a lot of fun. We definitely recommend this experience.
Dawn was our guide. She met us at the designated place, introduced herself and gave us a short explanation of how the tour would proceed. She has remarkable knowledge of cemetery history and the culture. Very animated and personable. We learned alot about the history through her personal knowledge.
We had a wonderful cemetery tour with Steven! He was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the tour both interesting and enjoyable. He brought the history of Bonaventure Cemetery to life and was a great guide. Highly recommend!
Dawn of the Savannah Dead was amazing. A local that knows and has lived the history. She is a wealth of knowledge in cemetery iconography. We appreciated the 8 am tour too!.
Very nice tour of a beautiful cemetery. Steven was very sensitive to the heat and tried to stay in the shade, while hitting most of the key plots. He was informative and entertaining.
The guide was very knowledgeable on the things she repeated over and over again , it was Georgia in July and the weather was just what you’d expect, But the shade was plentiful, it was a little concerning at the way the guide kept herself cool , They won’t let me tell you or else they will ban my review But let’s just say it was inappropriate
Steve was a great tour guide. Definitely was an amazing experience.
Steve was an excellent guide who told us many useful pieces of information. The cemetery is beautiful and interesting. Highly recommend.
Steven was a fun and informative tour guide. We're a big "Dad joke" family so he fit right in. This was our first trip to Savannah and a great introduction to local history and stories. Thanks!
Take water and bug spray. The guide was exceptional- very knowledgeable about Savannah history. The cemetery is beautiful- the Spanish Moss gives it a magical feel
The cemetary is beautiful and contains so much history! Our tour guide Steven was incredibly knowledgeable, entertaining, & helpful!
Such a fun and informative tour. Chris gave a beautifully well crafted presentation of heartfelt stories, funny anecdotes, and wild histories of many graves here. I really appreciated how prepared he was with waters, bug spray, and umbrellas, too. He was wonderful and this tour was well worth a trip to Savannah!
Chris is an amazing guide. I took this tour two years ago and he was the guide then and he is what made me want to bring my son back to see the cemetery. I was very happy that he was the guide again because his stories and the way he handles the the tour is amazing. Fun and quirky. You can tell he enjoys giving tours!
We are from near Nashville, Tennessee and this was our first time touring Bonaventure Cemetery. We have wanted to for a long time but haven't gotten the chance until now. Chris was our guide and he was amazing! Very knowledgeable and friendly! He made the tour very low key and educational. I have trouble walking long distances but he took it slow and told us many stories about the families buried in the cemetery. I would highly recommend asking for Chris as a guide and when we go the next time we will certainly be asking for him.
Chris was wonderful! Welcoming, thoughtful, witty, and knowledgeable! The cemetery tour was engaging and interesting.
Dawn was a spectacular tour guide! An extremely well versed storyteller, you could tell she felt a deep personal connection to the cemetery and its inhabitants. We thoroughly enjoyed our time walking with and learning from her!! The cemetery is beautiful and full of generational lore, we learned a lot about Savannah and it's former inhabitants.
Chris was great! He told stories, answered all our questions, and he provided cold water & umbrellas to keep the sun off of us. He is definitely the guide to get!
We enjoyed the Bonaventure Cemetery tour. Our guide was a great story teller and was engaging. He even brought umbrellas because of the chance of rain and bug spray in case we needed it. Wonderful adventure and a lot of fun.
The tour was truly great! Wonderful mix of education, history, interesting facts/stories, and even some singing (which was so good)! Could not recommend more highly.
Very informative talk. Tour guide was super friendly. Good way to spend afternoon and gave a lot of history during tour
I took the 11:00 Bonaventure Cemetery tour this morning. I found it very interesting and informative. Our tour guide was Dawn who made the information very enjoyable. She explained about cemetery art which I had never thought about. It was a great tour and I highly recommend it.
We had a tour guide named Steve. He was very knowledgeable, and you could tell he really cares about the graveyard. If you are interested in graveyards and their history, this tour is for you. I could have stayed here all day and just enjoyed the scenery and all its beauty. The price was great for my family as well. This cemetery is huge, I do believe we only hit half of it, if that.
Stephen was amazing. He knew so much information about the families in the graveyard and the plots and the dates and times.
We had a marvelous time with our guide, Chris. He pointed to the architectural features, the history and customs and also, tales of the folks buried there. All delivered with drama and theatrics to enhance the experience. Chris took a well posed group photo and we have a great memory of the day too. Definitely recommend.
