I am incredibly disappointed to be writing this review because I stayed at this hotel in July with my son for a special mom-and-son trip and we had a wonderful experience. In fact, that experience is exactly why I chose to book this hotel again for a girls’ weekend with my 6-year-old daughter. Unfortunately, this stay could not have been more different. I booked our room more than a month in advance, specifically choosing this hotel because of our previous experience and the pool. When we arrived, we discovered the hotel was hosting a large, 21+ “Pineapples After Dark” lifestyle event for the entire weekend. We received absolutely no notice before our stay that an adult-only event of this nature would be taking place throughout the hotel and significantly affecting the atmosphere, common areas, and amenities. This was not simply a private event contained to a ballroom. It had a very noticeable presence throughout the property, including around the pool—the main amenity I had specifically booked the hotel for my daughter to enjoy. Things escalated that evening when a fog machine being used by the event triggered the hotel’s fire alarm, forcing my 6-year-old and me to evacuate. The manager personally apologized to us outside and confirmed that the event’s fog machine caused the alarm. He specifically said it was affecting his “normal guests” and that if they did not turn it off, he was going to shut the event down. My daughter was terrified by the evacuation and, in the process, was exposed to an environment I never would have knowingly brought a 6-year-old into. Then, after finally getting her settled for the night, we discovered just how paper-thin the walls are. At approximately 5:00 a.m., we were awakened by extremely loud and unmistakably adult noises coming from the room next door. Try explaining THAT to a 6-year-old on what was supposed to be a fun mother-daughter getaway. I want to be very clear: my complaint is not about what consenting adults choose to do at a private event. My complaint is with the hotel and its lack of transparency and separation between this event and unsuspecting guests. If a hotel chooses to host a large 21+ lifestyle event that will significantly change the atmosphere of the property and affect common areas and amenities, families booking ordinary rooms should be made aware BEFORE arrival. Give your guests the opportunity to decide whether that environment is appropriate for their stay. Had I known, I simply would have booked somewhere else. Instead, a hotel I specifically returned to because of such a positive previous experience became the setting for an unusable/uncomfortable pool environment, a fire-alarm evacuation caused by the event, my young daughter being exposed to things she did not need to see, and being awakened at 5 a.m. by activity in the room next door. What makes this especially disappointing is knowing what a great family stay this hotel CAN provide—I experienced it myself just two months ago. This entire situation could have been avoided with basic transparency and appropriate separation between an adults-only event and families who had no idea what they were walking into. I expected much better from a Marriott property.

We were so skeptical upon arrival because there is some work being done on the exterior of the hotel, but there were no issues. Lobby is beautiful, room is cozy and quiet. Staff is friendly. We had a great stay!
If you’ve ever thought, “I wish my relaxing hotel stay felt more like sleeping in the middle of an active construction site,” then the Atlanta Marriott Alpharetta is the place for you. It would have been nice to know the hotel was under major construction before booking. Scaffolding everywhere, windows covered, and construction crews working right outside our room. Need a place where you don’t have to set an alarm after getting to bed well after midnight following a long tournament? No worries. The construction equipment starts beeping around 7:50 AM, and the workers chatting outside your window will make sure you’re awake. Missing the constant noise of NYC? You’ll feel right at home. This was anything but relaxing. A simple heads-up before booking would have gone a long way. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, I’d recommend staying somewhere else until the renovations are finished. I will say however, the hotel itself is nice and the staff are super helpful and friendly!!
We were on honeymoon in the US and because of weather, most flights were cancelled which included our own. Delta Airlines gave us an accommodation, transportation and meals coupons and we choose Marriott Bonvoy Alpharetta. The experience was great. Breakfast very pleasant. However, the dollar removed from my debit card as a guarantee has not been refunded. It is 13 days today after our using the Alpharetta. We would be glad if the Management could look into this for us. Thank you
Danny provided exceptional customer service starting with a phone call we made one evening regarding the early check in policy. When we arrived he remembered us and once again provided great service . All staff was welcoming and helpful at all times. Rooms were clean. My tv had one small issue which was the only downside but they were available to help with the issue.
