We booked explicitly the coastal road from Genoa to San Remo with stop in Savona. The driver told us he will take the highway to Savona and than the coastal road. We were surprised but accepted. In Savona he told us he will drive the coastal road SS1 to Finale Ligure which is a very short distance and then the highway to San Remo. We told him that we wanted to drive and paid for the coastal road. He told us that it is a bad road with many constructions and traffic jams. We still insisted on the more scenic road. There was just one construction and only in Loano was a bad traffic jam. But the driver continuously kept telling us how crazy it is to not drive the Highway and how stressful it is for him to drive this coastal road!! In Taggia he obviously decided he had enough and drove the inland SS720/718 to San Remo. This road was one tunnel after another, so nothing scenic at all! This driver tried his hardest to ruin a nice drive. So we are disappointed of the lack of understanding that tourists want to see the country side and not just want to go as quick as possible from A to B. I would not recommend Enrico limousine for anything else as from a simple transport.
I had another tour to Portofino (small group tour) cancel their tour just 10 days before it was scheduled. All other group tours were sold out, so I looked into private tours and glad I did. I found this tour and it was a highlight of our recent trip to Italy! The driver we had, Claudio, was excellent! He arrived at our hotel 5 minutes before the scheduled time, was very courteous and professional. His English was very good and he was happy to converse and make recommendations and answer questions. He reviewed the itinerary for the day and made recommendations as to how best to experience Portofino, Santa Margherita and Camogli. We started with a visit to Camogli to take advantage of the lack of crowds early in the day, drove to Portofinio to walk around and visit for a few hours then took the ferry to Santa Margherita for lunch and walking around. The visits were excellent and Camogli turned out to be a nice small gem on the coast. Claudio made time during our return to the hotel to show us Boccadasse Beach and Belvedere Castelletto for a great view of the city! Claudio was a great driver, navigating with ease tight spots and always able to find a parking space when needed. He was always on time for when we needed to re-meet to continue our tour This is an excellent way to visit Portofino and the surrounding towns on the coast. Claudio did a great job and made the trip fun and interesting. Highly recommended!!
It was good, might not extraordinary. The driver was safe and we saw everything. It just would have been great for a little more information
Michele was an excellent guide. He was on time and professional and gave us information and plenty of time for photos. He took us to a lovely place for lunch. He tried to park as close as possible at each stop. Highly recommended.
Our driver was not very friendly and hardly spoke English. He did not elaborate on where we were or what was around us. He dropped us at a few points and just told us to be back at a specific time. No suggestions on direction or points of interest. He also was falling asleep while driving back through the tunnels. The excursion also said there would be water and there was none.
We had a wonderful day with Cosimo. The stops were great, the family run restaurant in Santa Margarita was excellent and the extra tour in Genoa was outstanding. Cosimo was very helpful in accommodating my extra mobility needs too. Highly recommend.
excellent service and beautiful drive. Gianlucca was professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend him.
This is not a guided tour by the definition of guided tour. It’s simply a car & a driver who move you between places without much information about the area you’re seeing. The places themselves are stunning of course but if I need a private driver I can get it sorted. The driver was decent as driver but surely not qualified as a tour guide.
Our small group of 8 had an amazing time visiting Camogli, Santa Margherita, Portofino and Genoa. We were able to set our own schedule and our driver was gracious to take us into Portofino since the ferry from Santa Margherita was not operating that day. In spite of the rainy day, we thoroughly enjoyed the coastal areas and small towns. We even had ample time to see some of Genoa before having to return to our ship. Just keep in mind that this is a driver only so we did not get much info about the places we visited except when we asked.
Scenery was beyond beautiful. Like stepping into a book. Maximo (?) was nice and very courteous. It was dissappointing that he didn’t seem to know much about the areas we traveled to.
We requested a guide as we had read some reviews that were not positive about the drivers and their ability to speak English and share information about the sites. The guide they provided, Elisabetta Frega, was amazing! She was born in the area and knew it well. We loved her energy and passion for the sites we visited. Most of this tour was on foot so there was lot of walking which was fine with us but may be more than some area comfortable with. I rating this tour a 4 as our driver did not speak any English at all, otherwise it would be a 5 star. When the guide was with us we were fine, but after she departed and we were on the way back to the ship we needed to us google transcript the communicate with drive. We recommend that tour, but only if you hire an English speak guide or are fluent in Italian.
We booked this tour with high expectations based on the promised itinerary, but it was a complete letdown from start to finish. Our guide seemed completely unprepared and unaware of what the tour was supposed to include. Instead of dropping us off in Santa Margherita to enjoy the ferry ride to Portofino as advertised, he simply drove us there. When we asked about taking the ferry back (which was part of the experience we were looking forward to), he had no idea about the schedule or even where the ferry stop was. In the end, he just picked us up by car again in Portofino. Throughout the drive, there was barely any commentary. We had to ask the names of towns we were passing through, and there was no information given about the areas we were visiting. When we arrived in Camogli, he just dropped us off without any explanation or direction, and arranged only a meeting time. Back in Genoa, he didn’t give us a city tour or show us key sites like the cathedral, which was supposed to be part of the itinerary. Overall, this was not a guided tour, it was more like paying for a very expensive, silent chauffeur. We are a family of two adults and two kids, and this experience was a major disappointment. Absolutely not worth the money, and not what was promised. Avoid!
We enjoyed visiting the three towns with our guide, Gianluca. It was a really laid back day with nice sights. Gianluca picked us up at the cruise port entrance in Genoa (we were not on a cruise so it took some looking around) and suggested an itinerary of an hour in Camogli followed by a few hours between Portofino and Santa Margherita, which are connected by ferry. We enjoyed all three towns but Camogli was my personal favorite. We enjoyed walking on the beach and getting coffee in Camogli, hiking around the hills of Portofino to see the town from above, and then shopping a little bit in Santa Margherita. We had lunch in Portofino, was good but was also the most expensive meal on our two week vacation. I might suggest having lunch in the other towns, which are equally beautiful. We never felt rushed and had more than enough time in each town. The drive was pleasant and pick up was easy to coordinate through WhatsApp. It’s not a guided tour, but Gianluca was happy to answer questions or offer information when we asked.
The tour guide did not know what the tour was supposed to include. He did not drop us off in Santa Margherita to take the ferry to Portofino but drove us there. When we asked about taking the ferry back to Santa Margarita, he did not know the schedule or where to catch the ferry, so he picked us up via car in Portofino. During the drive, he didn’t tell us where we were and we had to ask the names of the towns. In Santa Margarita he showed us a restaurant, which was very good, but no tour or other directions. No information about Camogli, just dropped us off and planned for meeting. Back in Genoa, he didn’t tell us drive us around the city and stopped at the cathedral so we could go in. It was beautiful.
We had a wonderful day out of Genoa. We made all the stops and got to explore these great towns. He booked us for lunch in Recco and the meal was superb. I could not recommend this tour more highly. You will not be disappointed.
The scenery was beautiful, loved the towns, but the driver's lack of English made it difficult to communicate and he was able to provide minimal information.
This was a great tour. Jani, our tour guide, was amazing - very knowledgeable and friendly. The fresh focaccia he had waiting for us on pickup was a wonderful treat. Genoa, Portofino, Santa Margherita and Camogli were beautiful. We saw so much of the area and learned so much from our guide. We were traveling as a group of 5 - me, my husband, two teenagers and my mom. I would recommend this tour.
The tour guide very nice much appreciated He did show us a lot of place .definitely will considering more time incase we go back Thank you
Unfortunately the tour guide failed to show up at the agreed time which had been reconfirmed in the previous 24 hours. After making multiple calls I was informed that the driver/guide was on another trip and would not show up for another 90 minutes. The company showed very little empathy or remorse to the situation where a multigenerational family including an 84 year old were left waiting in n the summer heat.
Driver was good but did not give us any info on history etc. Took us to the 3 main tourist towns which were beautiful. Much easier and cheaper than tour from cruise ship. Was easy to find driver when we got off ship.
Alex was my driver and guide for an amazing day! Alex tailored the day by giving me a true introduction to Liguria. We stopped at a few small towns on the coast and visited Portofino. But the highlight was Camogli and lunch in Recco at Da O Vittorio. The fish soup was spectacular!!! A PERFECT DAY!
This was not a “tour”- this was a driver that spoke very few words- not even the slightest cordial comment on where we were visiting- very disappointed
This was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! The ferries were not running which was our reason for booking. Driver changed the order of the itinerary driving through Santa Margarita to Portofino. By the time we returned to Santa Margarita the shops were closed and he said yes, winter hours. Also requested a sedan and got a minibus. Last year we travelled in Austria, Germany and Spain using Viator with great success. This was a very expensive tour and did not come close to what we expected!
Really great experience and very professional and Van was great. We loved Portofino and other towns we visited. Would have enjoyed more information on history of the area.
Gabriel was our driver - intelligent, personable and sensitive to our needs on a very hot day! He was adaptable to whatever we needed and drove safely and professionally. We enjoyed seeing Santa Margherita, Portofino, and Camogli in a comfortable way. Will recommend. Thank you
Francesco was very professional and had a nice day planned for us. Even though we had a language barrier we were able to communicate using our translation app which we all enjoyed. He helped us learn a little more Italian . I was with my daughter and daughter in law who love to take photos. Not only was he patient with them but he found a perfect places to take pictures. His suggestions on restaurants were also very lovely. Each place he took us to was more beautiful than the next. I would highly recommend this to tour and I Francesco as your guide.
First off, Enrico and his drivers were so professional, punctual and courteous. Enrico was so responsive, patient and quick to answer all my questions. All areas were picturesque! There were 16 of us and the 2 vans were just right and comfy.. The costs of the vehicles were not bad considering we divided the costs by 16 people. The tour itself wasn't too bad also. We enjoyed the picturesque Santa Margharita, Portofino and Camogli. If I can make a suggestion, Enrico need to train his drivers to speak English. Grazi Enrico !
Excellent service, very professional, very precise. It was a day trip from Genova to Portofino. On the way back we stopped to visit Santa Margherita and Camogli. Strongly recommended.
Brilliant place. Stay in st Margherita and go out from there. One day in Portofino on ferry and one day to the Cinque terra on train then ferry. May have been time of year but we wanted to eat in one of the 5 towns but a lot shut between 3-6 so had too miss as get ferry back.
Having been to Portofino before, adding Santa Margarita to the tour just made it that much better. fantastic driver
Either Viator needs to update the description of this excursion or Enrique Limousines needs to improve the quality of their service. We knew we wouldn’t have guided tours at each stop, but through the aviator description AND communication with Enrique prior to the tour, we were led to understand that we would at least be hearing descriptions of the sites/towns as we passed. What we got was purely a driver. When we got in the car he asked us “where to first”? We were like, ummm, we hired you. We drove to each town in silence for the most part - no descriptions of the towns or anything of significance as we passed. Driver was able to answer some questions when we asked. We did appreciate the slightly awkward & quiet walk around Camogli with him - we’d not have seen a couple of things without that. And, we had a very wonderful lunch in an out of the way place that bumped up my review just for that. We did this excursion as part of a 9 day cruise where we did multiple activities with multiple operators in Italy and this was far & away the least worth our money. It’s probably cheaper to hire just a driver or if you want an actual tour like this describes, invest your money somewhere else too.
If booking this experience, you are getting a private driver to take you to Portofino, Santa Margherita and Camogli. Our driver named Michele was a very kind man and tried his best to communicate with us using google translate. Our Italian was very limited so we couldn't ask questions but basically it was straight forward. He dropped us off at each spot, let us explore and we would meet up at a designated spot! We were able to spend as much time as we needed in each place. He picked us up at the cruise ship port in Genoa and dropped us off in a timely matter. Thank you Michele for the great time!
Our driver Angelo was very kind however he did not speak English as advertised nor was he a guide. He stayed with the car at all times. A lot of money for a taxi ride. Beware
We booked this Tour from Genoa to Portofino, Santa Margherita and Comogli with another couple. Our experience on April 20, 2023 did not fit the stated description of a guided tour of Santa Margherita and Camogli, Our driver spoke no English, and we spoke no Italian, so he could not really share any information. So, yes, we had a kind and courteous driver who did his best to understand us and tried to share what little he could. I know some Spanish (which he was fluent in) so was able to ask him to take us to lunch and a to few sites that I knew about. Had I known that we would not have an English speaking driver/guide, I would have cancelled and pursued something else. As it turned out, we simply had a lovely drive to the towns around Genoa. I am sorry to rate it this low, but it was an expensive day and we were disappointed not to learn about the area. I think this put our driver in a difficult situation. It was not his fault and he did his best to salvage the day, including finding an excellent off-the-tourist path restaurant for us to have lunch at.
Loved the scenic route and all activities recommended by trip advisor I used trip advisor specially for last minute options
We booked the guided tour through Viator and asked for an English speaking guide. The tour description says you will have a guided tour through Portofino and Santa Margherita. Enrico Limousine Service was our tour operator. Our driver was very polite and competent as a driver, however, he spoke very little English and we could not communicate the simplest of questions to him. He was strictly a driver. We were just dropped off at the various sights with no direction or history. When I called Enrico Limousine to find out why we did not have an English speaking guide, the man who answered the phone said we only booked a driver. I told him the tour description said our tour included a driver and English speaking guide, and he just kept saying we only booked a driver. It was our first time to the area, and we were so disappointed that we were not able to get the history of the areas we were looking at. We contacted Viator about a credit for not being provided with the services that we paid for, and we were told that they were not able to give us a credit. I WILL NOT BOOK ANOTHER TOUR THROUGH VIATOR, AS THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORD. I am also going to contact my credit card company about disputing the charges.
We had an amazing day touring around Portofino, Santa Margherita, Camogli and Genoa with our private driver, Mr. Angelo - he was awesome! and made sure our group of 4 saw everything we wanted to and then some. We were greeted at the cruise terminal and proceeded to Portofino. After some time in Portofino we continued on to Santa Margherita (we found a great little café with the best focaccia and biscotti!) and enjoyed wandering through the area. Afterwards, we made our way to Camogli - fantastic and picturesque! We later returned to Genoa where Mr. Angelo took us all over and also showed us the highlights, we had a full and fabulous day! Mr. Angelo was very professional and did everything to ensure we had a great time. The Mercedes van was comfortable, spacious and clean (and had WiFi). Note that this is not a “guided tour”, but a private, professional driver who will ensure you see what you’d like and have a great time! Very much worth it (a cruise ship excursion would not compete!)
The locations were beautiful however, we paid for a tour guide/driver and all we got was a driver. We also paid for an English speaking tour guide/driver and Daniel as lovely as he was, did not speak English. When I asked him which town we were in he told me what time it was! This is unacceptable in my opinion for as expensive as this tour was we were on our own to tour the areas that was not what I wanted not what I chose and not what I expected. He had no idea that the ferry was not running from Santa Margarita to Portofino he has no suggestions for us on where to have lunch or the other tour guys we booked did those things for us we were completely on our own if I wanted that I would’ve just taken a taxi. I might I add he was not where he was supposed to be to pick us up leaving us to walk back-and-forth looking for him which added up to like the 2 mile walk for us
Just wow Came off cruise was met by Cosimo in a nice suit and taken directly to our Mercedes benz We altered the tour a little and had Cosimo drive around Genova then straight to,PORTOFINO so we could beat the traffic If you want a private luxury experience this is it Highly recommend
We booked a tour from Genoa to Portofino, Santa Margherita and Camogli from a cruise. We have a day to spent. Our tour operator was Enrico Limousine Service and our driver was Alberto. He was really great. Making the most of our day. He advice us about places to visit, showed us great views of the region and even help us to see a bit of Genoa before the end of the day.
We had a lovely day getting driven around to see different towns - camogli, portofino, and Ste Margherita, but it was more of a hired car only. There was no guidance /suggestions on what to do, where to eat or any info of the area. We thought we would go on a ferry to the village, but we didn’t. We did get to decide how much time we had in each village.
Skip the expensive ship tours! Had a fab day seeing Portofino, and lots of small villages nearby. Easy, convenient, great vehicle. Also saw the main sights of Genoa..... Nothing was too much trouble for our driver
My Family and I booked Enrico Limousine Services for a tour ofBologna, Florence, Siena, Pisa, Cinque Terra and Portofino We were met on arrival in Milan at the airport by Diego our driver and then we were whisked off to start a wonderful 9 day tour of the above cities The price was agreed all by Internet upfront and a 20 per cent deposit paid. The price was reasonable for a 9 seater van which included the driver and had ample space for luggage Diego was always punctual and on time and also knowledgeable about the cities and attractions which we visited. If he did not know, then he took the initiative to find out At the end, we were billed the remaining 80 percent on my credit card. An excellent service thorough out which made our holiday thoroughly enjoyable and so effortless!!
Perfect private tour! We visited from the cruise terminal of Genoa Portofino, Camogli, and Santa Margherita. The drive takes about 30-40 minutes to get to Portofino. On site we have time to visit. This is the best way to visit these sites during a cruise stop. The driver was extremely kind and kind. The top! I would recommend Enrico Limousine. Communication and service at the top!
Découvrir et manger avec les locaux que le guide nous a fait connaître. Francesco est excellent et parle bien anglais.
