Unreliable and very slow wifi, sometimes not working at all. Light that cannot be switched off in the night. Laud airconditioning (at least hotel provides ear plugs by default in the room). Not worth the price.

This hotel has a great location and rooms, facilities were good as well but there are some downsides worth noting. First of all, the staff are really cold. We never managed to understand why that was the case, but that was a huge contrast with the other interactions we had in the region during our stay. Then the AC is way too strong in the restaurant and hotel lobby, it feels like a fridge, maybe that’s why the employees are so cold towards guests ? On top of that we noticed that the breakfast was a huge mess in terms of organisation, nobody asked for our room number until the third day, and when that happened the employee asked us several time what was my name, it felt like they were doubting a lot, so again very cold and strange. We also witnessed employees arguing loudly in Italian about table cleaning in front of us while we were eating. Also we had the impression that it was a corporate hotel, meant for seminars etc but the conference rooms were always empty which was kind of ridiculous. Overall I had the impression that the hotel could offer so much more but staff and maybe management issues are dragging the whole experience down.

Starhotels President is a very clean and comfortable hotel with friendly service. The room was a bit small for a family of three, and the breakfast could be improved with more variety. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the city center, and parking can be a bit challenging. Overall, it’s a pleasant hotel and a good choice for exploring the city.

The good: Really close to the brignole train station, very clean, spacious and comfortable rooms - we managed to get a renovated room. We were also able to check in a few hours ahead of the official check-in time. The not so good: Staff were all quite pleasant and professional, but having a 10%(?) gratuity for the service staff pre-charged to your card (which the hotel is perfectly understanding if you choose to cancel) is a bit of an unorthodox practice, and I'm not sure what to feel about it. Fitness centre was under renovation, and a lot of renovation works made sleeping in past 8am difficult (which was fine for us with some early starts to the day). Despite what other reviews have mentioned, we did not have any issues with the a/c. It was relatively cold and comfortable at night in late April.
