An incredible stay at Palazzo Durazzo Suites! Situated directly at Genoa's old harbor along Via del Campo, this landmark property offers an unforgettable blend of history, architecture, and top-tier hospitality. Built in 1624 by Cesare Durazzo and restored in the early 18th century by architect Giovanni Battista Storace, the palazzo is filled with rich heritage—from its grand entrance hall and classical staircase to the remarkable frescoed vaults painted by Domenico Parodi. The recent restoration has preserved these historical details with tremendous respect while introducing sleek, modern design elements, creating a magnificent atmosphere throughout the common spaces, lounge areas, and guest rooms. The service is exceptional. The staff is warm, friendly, and super attentive to every detail. Breakfast is served in a grand room beneath historic ceiling frescos. The spread includes a high-quality Italian selection of fresh fruit, pastries, and house-baked cakes, alongside a great menu for warm breakfast options made to order. I cannot recommend this hotel enough if you are visiting Genoa!

One of the most beautiful hotels / rooms I have ever stayed in. You are effectively staying in one of palaces Genoa is famous with frescoed 30 or so foot ceilings. Really special. Also of note: the same family that built it still owns it and runs it 300 years+ later.
Palazzo Durazzo is a superb boutique hotel in the center of Genoa. From our arrival, where we were met with stellar hospitality, to the exquisite esthetics of the Palazzo - our experience can only be expressed in superlatives. Our room was very clean, the breakfast was delicious and we very much enjoyed an aperitivo at the hotel, we have nothing but positive things to mention about the hotel. Furthermore, we experienced Genoa as (one of) the most beautiful and impressive cities of Europe, where an omnipresence of historical opulence is met with a more gritty contemporary reality. There still being so much to do, eat and see, we cannot wait to come back to both the city and the Palazzo.
A wonderful place to stay in Genoa. The hotel was very clean, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. One thing I particularly appreciated was the valet service. Our car was always brought out earlier than the requested time, which I absolutely loved. It’s much better than having to wait 15–20 minutes when you’re ready to leave. The renovation has been done beautifully, with great attention to detail, creating a stylish and comfortable atmosphere throughout the property. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be the addition of mosquito screens on the windows. Given the location, they would be extremely useful in preventing mosquitoes and other insects from entering the rooms. Overall, a lovely stay, and I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Genoa.
What an incredible find! This is easily one of the most remarkable hotels we've ever visited. The design of the property and the rooms is absolutely stunning. As for the staff—their warmth, professionalism, and helpfulness are beyond anything we’ve experienced elsewhere. If you're looking for the perfect place to stay in Genoa, this is it. Thank you for a flawless stay!
