Our guide was very punctual and tried to explain some sites on our walk to the WW2 museum however, it was difficult to understand much of what she was saying with her accent. Once we arrived at the museum, we were very rushed through and were unable to complete all stops. The museum was closing so we were asked to leave. It was not completely our guides fault that we did not have enough time. The museum is so large and interesting. It requires more time. We could have done that on our own with a headset and had a guide to the tour around the town, with more time being spent on sites. I think it should’ve been two separate tours. One tour of the town during communist times and the World War II museum being a separate tour with at least 4 to 6 hours just at the museum.

Very informative & our guide was incredibly knowledgeable We learnt a lot
Our tour guide was fantastic. Took us through the main parts of the museum. As this is a huge place. He pointed to us all the important things to learn.
Excellent tour. Plan plenty of time to absorb it all. Lots to see and learn. We would recommend this tour
The WW2 museum in Gdansk is really worth a visit. We chose the more expensive option of hiring a private guide and we're glad that we did. Not only did he meet us at the hotel and take us to an interesting site first, he then was able to jump the queue at the museum and take us to the exhibits that interested us most. Thanks to Tomasz our extremely friendly, knowledgeable guide.
Very informative and interesting guided tour. Our guide was considerate with one of our members who required a slower pace and helped him participate while showing him areas to rest while we continued tour. Highly recommend visiting this museum with a guide
If you’re visiting Gdańsk, this museum is an absolute must. I was honestly blown away by how massive it is - you’ll want to set aside several hours, and make sure your phone or camera is fully charged because you’ll be taking photos the entire time. Every room is beautifully designed and thoughtfully curated. You can tell an incredible amount of care, respect, and attention to detail went into each exhibit. Walking through this museum truly feels like stepping back in time, taking you on a powerful and comprehensive journey through World War II history. It’s one of the most impressive museums I’ve ever visited and an experience I won’t forget.
A must do if visiting Gdansk. Soooo much information to be had at your own pace if you hire the headphones. We were here for 2 hours. Just wow!
Very very comprehensive Museum that covers all the repressive regjmes that appeared prior to WWII. The combined operations of the Germans. Italians, Japanese, & Russian resulted in the deaths of at least 20,000,000 people. The exact count will never be known. This staggering carnage was brutal beyond comprehension.
This trip was outstanding and the guide was very good and informative. 5 stars and I highly recommend.
One of the most amazing museums we've ever visited. Strongly suggest visiting this museum! Give yourself plenty of time b/c it's huge, but well designed and easy to get around!
Booked on line a day before our visit. Excellent museum. Very informative and brilliant architecture of the building. Didn't bother with the audio as the displays are in English and subtitles on the audios. Worth a visit. Very informative.
Exceptional experience, well presented unbiased history - a must for everyone visiting Gdansk, we bought our tickets on-line along with the extra tickets for our headsets, printed them off - and avoided the queues at the museum. No tour guide needed in my opinion.
We went to this very interesting museum in Gdansk. There is lots of exhibits and is very informative. It has coat hangers and lockers for your bags etc before you go to see the museum. If you are in Gdansk it is a must to visit.
We had a two-hour guided tour as a part of a staff trip. Very happy with our guide Olga - guided us in Norwegian. Knowledgeable, with a personal touch. Good exhibitions. Personally I most certainly want to revisit with more time on my hands :)
Very good museum, everything has been put together with thought and attention to detail, so much fascinating information and plenty to see. Really great place to learn more about WW2 and Poland's struggles. Highly recommend.
This is one of the most fascinating and creatively designed museums I have ever been to. Rarely does a place succeed in immersing tourists in history so deeply and this museum totally excelled. Every exhibit makes you feel as if you were there and some of the conceptualisation about how to present exhibits is truly first class and inspired. The 'Fauna' animals in war exhibit was extremely moving and the "Life on East and West of the Berlin Wall" with the simultaneously playing clips and a physical representation of the wall - just wow. This is as much a trip into history as it is a truly inspired art exhibit. Really captivating and so revealing for someone who grew up in the West. Absolutely devote enough time to this place - you won't regret it.
We had a fabulous tour with Lucasz who was friendly, engaging, and full of World War II information. He did an excellent job guiding us through the most relevant exhibits and provided great detail and historical facts. I highly recommend this tour. We wouldn’t have had as much context had we just toured the museum ourselves. I took my 16 year old son and my 83 year old mother and they both equally enjoyed it.
This museum is excellent. You need about 2.5hours to get the most out of it. Buy your tickets direct from the museum. We paid a little for the headphones, so glad we did it really directed us around. We learnt so much about the past that we all need to know. There was a little cafe and a shop as well. Highly recommend.
Our guide Malgorzata was amazing. She was so educated / professional and punctual. She used all the time we needed to answer to our questions. She went an extra mile for us ! I strongly recommend her as a guide!
Only popped in for a bit. Spent four hours there. Insightful, encapsulating and heartbreaking. Very well put together.
We visited this last week and it wasn’t too busy so could take time around the museum, we purchased the headsets with commentary for ourselves and it was great, very clear, slow paced and informative, good experience all round!
This museum, it’s exhibits, it’s audio guide or among the best I have ever attended. You get a very good view of World War III, it’s causes, and resulting historical events. Allowing enough time to go through the museum completely and listen to the entire audio guide.
This is a must visit ,anyone visiting Gdansk has to visit this place and witness the atrocities that took place ,really very emotional place
Interesting visit. The automated tour was excellent and we had lovely pastries and coffee afterwards.
Extremely informative. Very well done exhibit. Terrifying similarities with what is happening now in the eastern part of Europe.
This museum is one of the best we have ever visited. We booked a private tour, which we recommend for anyone wanting the best experience. The museum is large and has many things to see and learn about. Our guide, Elvira, was very good, knowledgeable, and informative, and improved the experience. She could answer all of our questions and gave us excellent insight into history.
Tour guide was knowledgeable and easily understood. Passionate about history of Poland, knew the exhibit museum well. For anyone interested in history, this trip is excellent. Somber, but informative. Well done!
Good experience and story. We bought tickets on site, very small queue. You can rent a headset and choose the language - also in Danish. Really nice and good way, if one doesn't want a guide.
Impressive but distressing. Outstanding museum design. Audioguide informative and fair.
Being a museum in the city where it all began, I expected better. The facility is really large but the museum only occupies a part of it, many rooms, many videos, and relatively few objects on display; the historical reconstructions are nice, a bit too limited to the Polish nation. Paid luggage storage and audio guides. Acceptable ticket price.
In a modern building, within walking distance of the tourist heart of Gdańsk's Old Town, there is this highly extraordinary and perfectly installed museum. In a marked tour of the very impressively designed museum, the visitor learns about the origins, the atrocities and impacts and the consequences of the 2nd World War. World War II through exhibited original exhibits and short films. Those who leave this museum without emotional turmoil lack emotional/social/human intelligence. Audioguide( 12PLN) is highly recommended!. Schedule a minimum visit time of 2 hours. I recommend booking an admission date online (preferably in the morning from 10.00 am) as the museum was busy at least at the time of our visit to Gdansk. Entrance is very inexpensive .
The box office opened 30 minutes before we were there, good to be on time if you do not have a ticket. Good even for children.
A well-made museum about World War II. Good signage between departments. Just follow the arrows. Particularly interesting were the parts where there were built up streets as it was at that time.
An incredibly good museum and exhibition where you mainly get to experience how the Polish people lived and were affected by the war. But they also address other parts and aspects of World War II in general. The fact that you are a few miles from Westerplatte where WWII claimed its first victim makes it all the more charged. Here you can add 2-3h without problems.
One of the most beautiful and exciting museums I have ever seen. Done well, with a logical and chronological sense above all. I recommend it to everyone
A must-see place tells the story of an awful time. Not only about World War II, but also other armed conflicts. It's awful that people can treat others in such an awful way. But the atmosphere, the interactivity, the stories give a great experience
Very nice and comprehensive exhibition about the Second World War. Not only the history of Poland from the war but also about the history of the allied countries
Amazing museum. To do absolutely. Taking audio guides is cheap and explains great. Free locker room.
Interesting exhibition set with Polish eyes. Many nice objects that were exhibited and many movies and watch. Absolutely worth the fifty crowns the ticket cost.
