Our guide Tufi made the tour really enjoyable. His level of knowledge of the history of Gdansk was matched by enthusiasm and friendliness. At the end of the tour he recommended St Bridget's church as a hidden gem. When we went there he gave an impromptu talk about the altar. Altogether a great introduction to Gdansk. Many thanks!!

Fine Tour with Czarek! Very informative and fun Tour.
Kate (Dynamite) was an excellent guide and knew her subject. What a treat!
Had an excellent tour with Czarek. Very knowledgeable and gave us an excellent history of Gdansk from the Middle Ages right through to the start of the Solidarity movement. He kept us enthralled and entertained with all that Gdansk has to offer. Highly recommended.
Tufi was such an excellent guide! Gdansk was a stop on our cruise we weren’t particularly excited about…until Tufi taught us all about the Free City of Gdansk!! He is a passionate guide who really brought the city to life. We plan to make a trip back just to spend more time in this amazing city after his tour. Thank you!
From The Golden Gate, through the old town and along the waterfront with our knowledgeable and entertaining guide Pawel. From knights to Prussians, Poles and pukers this was a tour well worth doing.
Wow! The history of Gdansk was something I was not familiar with but after the tour with Tufi my mind was blown with how interesting and important this city was, to not only Poland, but Europe and the world! It was closer to 3 hours long but only because of how enthusiastic and informative Tufi was, such a pleasure hearing of the highs and lows of this amazing city, finished of with emotional detail of the post office workers defiance in the face of the most evil you can imagine. One of the most interesting walking tours I've ever had the pleasure to be part of, thanks so much Tufi!
Tufi was a fantastic tour guide. He was really passionate about Gdansk which made the experience that whole bit better, would highly recommend! Tufi is a legend
Tufi, what an excellent guide! The best we've ever experienced so far. He had an incredible knowledge combined with wit, humour and empathy. It felt like a journey back through Poland and Gdansk's history told through someone who had experienced it first hand. His last "speech" outside the old Post Office was one of the most emotional moments we have experienced from a guide.
There are several tours daily with multilingual guides. The tour takes you through the main sites and attractions of Gdansk Śródmieście. The tour duration is typically around 2 hrs with a rest-stop midway. In our case this was at Neptune's fountain which has several cafes in the vicinity for the 20 min break. The guides, as you would expect, are very knowledgeable, and passionate about Gdansk and its history. This was our first visit to Gdansk and participation in one of these tours is recommended for those new to this city. The tour is free - the guides make their living from tips received at the end, so the amount that you donate is discretionary. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience (despite the weather) and learned a lot about the history of this Polish city.
Tufi was an excellent guide who really brought the history of Gdansk to life including some very sad and poignant moments. His English was superb and he was friendly and funny, always willing to answer questions and show off the city he clearly loves. Highly recommend this as a way to get your bearings in this lovely city.
Great experience for first time visitors. Izabela was our guide. She was enthusiastic, and provided a balanced and knowledgable tour of the city’s highlights. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our tour with Czarek, hit all the highlights and learned so much about the history of Gdańsk, would highly recommend!
Marcin was great presenter and person, very well educated and informed, very nice tour of the Main city of Gdansk, thank you
Our guide Paweł (nickname Pkay) was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, with an excellent sense of humour. The tour took just over 2.5 hours, starting at the Golden Gate and ending by the river at the Old Port Crane. For me, the highlight was the Astronomical Clock in St Mary’s Basilica - with Pkay skilfully delivering us there in time for its 12 noon performance. Gdańsk has a long and complex history. Compared to similar tours we’ve taken in other European cities, there was less time walking and more time spent listening to Pkay’s fascinating explanations of the various topics. Highly recommended.
Amazing and well informed walking tour. Our guide Kasia was so nice and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour
Paul was a great guide. Informative, funny and great to talk with. We had a group of 30 and you could always hear what he was saying. It was a great introduction to the beautiful city of Gdansk.
Interesting tour guided by Tufi. He gave a lot of information.
Absolutely brilliant walking tour with Kate (Dynamite) today - so much information, delivered with a great mix of humour and seriousness. I have done a number of walking tours over the years and this would be one of the absolute best ones I've ever done. Highly recommend!!!
Kate was an amazing guide, she made the your full of energy and information ❤️
I love Walkative Tours. I look for them in every country I visit. Their guides are always so friendly and knowledgeable about their cities and the surrounding areas. For Gdansk, I guide was awesome. It rained for half our tour and she stayed upbeat and directed us to areas where there could be cover when possible. The tour start area and end were convenient to continue our exploration of the city. She chatted with everyone as we walked between areas, answering questions or just asking about our stay and where we would visit. She gave us great restaurant recommendations for Gdansk and the neighboring city of Sopot. Absolutely recommend you take the time to do this tour and learn about Gdansk.
Fantastic experience. Marcin is an extremely trained guide, able to involve us. A lot of information, anecdotes and historical events without ever being boring. Time literally flew by, as we learned a lot of interesting things about the history of the city, visiting the main points of interest.
Tufi was very knowledgeable and passionate about Gdansk and its history. Excellent guide, would recommend him along with walkative to anybody that visits.
The guide was very knowledgeable and it was fascinating to learn about the history of Gdansk prior to the second world war. Thoroughly recommended to hear all the stories and visit the main important points in town which you may otherwise miss.
Great Tour and Intro to Gdansk. Our guide Kate was very knowledgeable and personable. Good historical overview and many unique cool sites visited!
Filip was by far the BEST walking guide I have ever had! He was entertaining and highly knowlegable ! I did not want the tour to end! Highly recommend his tours in Gdansk to anyone!!!
Tufi was our guide. He was passionate and very informative and enthusiastic throughout which helped us to engage in the tour. His knowledge was fantastic and English exceptional. We booked the tour for our first morning which helped us with orientation and navigating the city for the rest of our trip.
Our group of six family and friends booked a private tour of Gdansk with Walkative, and we were fortunate to have Filip as our guide. The city was very crowded with many large tours, and we were very happy to have Filip, who was wonderfully talkative and always easy to understand. He seemed to know everything about the city and Poland in general, and provided many insights into the history and culture. I was especially moved by his dramatic telling of the siege of the Post Office in September 1939. The tour was not expensive, so if you are in Gdansk on a cruise as we were, I highly recommend Walkative.
Great experience of visiting Gdansk with Izabela, who explained very clearly history of the town! We really appreciated the visit and can only recommend her:)!
The tour of Gdansk main town is very interesting and Marcin is a great guide. He told us a lot of curiosities about the city
On our recent trips, my wife and I started going on walking tours: Oslo, Manchester, London and now Gdańsk. The Gdańsk tour with Tufi was hands down the best experience we’ve had exploring any of these cities. Tufi was incredible throughout the whole tour, sharing so much interesting information, having great conversations with us between the stops, and giving us genuinely helpful insight into the city. It was educational, entertaining, and incredibly engaging. But the thing that made this tour (and Tufi) stand out above all the others was the last stop: THE Post Office. You could feel every word he was saying. His story was filled with emotion, and everyone could see how deeply that whole period and its history had affected him and his life. In every story, every sentence, and every word, you could feel how much love Tufi has for his city. An incredible experience, and we will definitely be back to Gdańsk. Lots of love from Serbia, Aleksandar and Tamara
Had a great walking tour around the Gdańsk, led by Paweł (also known as PK). He was extremely knowledgeable and funny. We learnt a lot about the history of Gdańsk dating back as far as the 10th century. We walked around the main town, along the river and part of the old town. PK was happy to answer any and all questions and was respectful of the group's varied nationalities. I would highly recommend this tour and company, and especially our guide PK. Happy Birthday Paweł!
Gdansk (in four days] is well worth a visit, in our case we did not prebook any trips as we wanted to explore the old town and the seasonal festival markets. We flew from l a very busy Leeds airport [2 hours] and arrived at a modern spacious Lech Walesa airport which has excellent transport links to the surrounding areas. We were happy to self explore the old town at a leisurely pace with frequent food and drink stops, but we saw many guided tours and trips for the more organised. We found the people friendly and the town is vibrant and safe and you should find something to suit your tastes and budget. Like the UK Poland has its own currency but everywhere accepts cards and we used currency mainly in the markets, and for tips. Gdansk has a train station in the town centre and taxi's are affordable if venturing further, but we found plenty to do in our 4 day visit in and around the old town. So my verdict is Gdansk is well worth a visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Tufi, was excellent. He was able to present a lot of information in an engaging and interesting way. Really opened our eyes to the importance of Gdansk and its place in history. Highly recommend this tour.
Intresting tour with Tufi Cheerful, easy going and can a lit
Very nice guide Pkay, who gave us an extensive city tour.
Our walking tour of Gdánsk with Tufi was excellent. He achieved his goal of explaining the key roles that the city has played in European history. He showed a great passion for his City and heritage and brought such events as the defence of Gdánsk's Post Office chillingly to life. The tour was excellent value and anyone who gets Tufi as their guide is in for a real treat. Great value, even booking in advance.
Tufi was an absolutely amazing tour guide. He had passion and that was relayed throughout the entire tour. I could have spent more hours with himlearning about the wonderful city.
Tufi (Filip) is, without exaggeration, one of the best walking tour guides we’ve encountered — and we’ve done 50+ walking tours across Europe and beyond, so that’s not a small claim. His energy and enthusiasm were infectious from the first minute to the last. What set him apart was the perfect balance he struck: rich historical and cultural information delivered with genuine humor, warmth, and impeccable timing. He never lost that balance, and he was clearly deeply respectful of Gdansk’s complex history and its people. You could tell this wasn’t just a job for him — his love for his home city came through in every story he told, and it was contagious. By the end of the tour we didn’t just know more about Gdansk’s history, we felt like we understood its culture, its people, and their outward-looking, European spirit. If you’re visiting Gdansk, do not miss this tour, and ask for Tufi specifically. He turned a city walk into one of the most memorable travel experiences we’ve had. Huge thanks to him and to Walkative for a fantastic morning.
Definitively recommend going on the Tour with Phillip. Got to know Gdańsk from every angle and he is very passionate about his city.
Pros: - very vivacious and funny guide, we enjoyed the tour (TuFi) - essential Gdansk info was presented, helped us connect the dots regarding this surprising city Suggestions: I would've liked a bit more info about what the Hanseatic league and Commonwealth meant, also maybe present more historical figures from that era.
Amazing tour. Highly recommend! Thanks for amazing 2.5h:)
Good experience, guide very knowledgeable.Good value
Price meets quality. Tufi was very good guide. A lot of good informartion, recomendations, points to intresting aspects.
I was not a fan of history lessons in school, but the tour was actually interesting. The guide was very friendly and even remembered some details about us
Sandra was a great guide! Nice and very competent
Tufi is a great guide, passionate, knowledgeable, provided an insightful tour. Highly recommend!
Our guide, Marcin, is a compelling story teller who easily related the history of Gdansk into an enjoyable tour. Learned a lot about fascinating events regarding this port city. Well done!
Marcin was amazing, tour is interesting and time just fly away. Thank you very much!!!
Absolutely fantastic guide. Tufi (Philip) took us through the center of Gdansk. He captivated us with his huge knowledge of buildings. You could really feel that he was passionate about history and was very happy to talk about it. His gripping story about the beginning of World War II gave us goosebumps. It was a very good experience.
