Hotel Mercure Gdansk Stare Miasto

Disappointing for a Hotel Rated Four Stars Having stayed at hundreds of hotels over the years, I found the Mercure Gdańsk seriously underwhelming for a four-star property. While the lobby is impressive, the rooms are dated, unusually small, and in need of renovation. The room felt exceptionally cramped for two people. The bathroom was particularly disappointing. The tiny bathtub was visibly stained, the sink was chipped, and the shower was poorly designed. The showerhead was mounted on a sliding bar that reached only to just below chest height, making it impossible to shower comfortably without holding it by hand or practically getting down on your knees. The small glass partition also made it virtually impossible to shower without flooding the bathroom. Even the bathroom garbage can had a broken foot pedal, requiring me to open it by hand every time. With breakfast costing 85 PLN and room rates at a premium, I expected a considerably higher standard. Honestly, the overall experience felt closer to a two-star hotel than a four-star property. Even the nearby three-star Ibis offers a better experience in my opinion. An impressive lobby and high prices don't make up for cramped, dated rooms, poorly designed bathrooms, and basic maintenance issues. Based on my experience, the four-star rating is difficult to justify, and I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

I’ve been coming here for 3 years now, but this was the last time. Every time I come it gets worse. I always get the same executive room with a view to the city, and somehow the room keeps getting worse and the service is just HORRIBLE. Last time I had multiple issues with the guys at reception, including them forgetting that I asked for late checkout (which was approved) and repeatedly calling me to remind me that my time is out, only for then to laugh about it when I told them they messed up. This year I was kept waiting for my room to be ready, and I waited like a fool while others were brought in front of me. It’s even more humiliating considering you have a priority queue for ACCOR members, but I guess my priority is not important for them. Since the room wasn’t ready even at quarter past 3, they had to call housekeeping to rush the job, and they gave me not only a room that was not finished, but not the room that I paid for. Where’s my view, Mercure Gdansk? If you’re going to charge extra for it, I expect to receive it. Absolutely disgusting behavior towards loyal guests. I’m done not only with Mercure Gdansk, but with ACCOR in general. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Excellent hotel, ideally located in the heart of one of Gdańsk’s most popular tourist areas. The location makes it very convenient to explore the city’s main attractions, restaurants, and surrounding sights. The hotel is comfortable, welcoming, and well-positioned for both business and leisure travellers. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would gladly return.

Pleasant stay at this hotel which is conveniently located for the main train station. Staff were really friendly and welcoming upon our arrival and the lobby area had a nice space for waiting or grabbing a drink. Our twin room was great for our 2 night stay and we found the rooms to be quiet, clean and comfortable. For the location I think the hotel was really good value.
