For a 5 star hotel, we expected better service. The staff are unsociable, not on the hook. The restaurant that is recommended by Michelin would have been quite ok if the service had been better, there was much more to be desired there. The hotel as such was fresh. Cleaning of the room during the stay, made the bed and new shower towels but nothing more.

This hotel is located only about a 15 minute walk from the city center of Sopot. Check-in and the staff was very friendly. The room is very nice. It is kind of weird how you change the temperature in the room. The room was very hot so I had to go downstairs to the lobby for him to change the temperature in the room on his computer. Kind of an inconvenience. Besides that the rooms are big and clean. The swimming pool Jacuzzi and spa area is located in the basement level and is very nice. Breakfast is available, but it does cost a small fortune, 140 złoty (approx $40 usd) per person, which is extremely expensive. Parking is another $40 and there are only a few spots in the back. Otherwise street parking. To summarize, the hotel and the rooms are nice, but all of the other things are kind of an inconvenience for this price.
I check out on Saturday, July 4th, but I wanted to write this now because I am so very pleased with this Hagfner Hotel. First of all, the people are outstanding, especially an employee named Oliver. He deserves a raise! The hotel has treated this guest so nicely and made my stay so wonderful. They have been considerate, kind, and good listeners. It was worth every penny I paid for my week here as the breakfast was outstanding along with those Terrific employees. I was extremely comfortable and well cared for. Also, it was very clean Everything exceeded my expectations!!!!🤗😃 Dziekuje bardzo.
Pool and Spa closed for refurbishment!! In and of itself, understandable but we were not informed at the time of the booking, nor were we notified at check in. The first I knew about it was after walking through a building site at 7.30am in the morning in my gown looking for the pool!. No signs up...no locked doors. Very dangerous. Elsewhere the hotel was clean and standards generally high. The breakfast was reasonable value and the food was just OK. A real shame that the hotel didn't have the courtesy to inform us or offer to refund any of the rate paid due to the circumstances. Poor value based on our experience. Given the lack of a Pool/ Spa, this Hotel should be correctly listed as 2/3 star. Nowhere near being 5 star.
Hotel Haffner is truly a 5-star experience. From the moment you step inside, you can see the incredible level of detail and investment that has gone into the architecture and interior design. Elegant, thoughtful, and genuinely impressive throughout. Maja was so so pleasant booking me in and so accomidating where to park as i found it difficult parking in heavy snow. Café Xander was outstanding. Being Irish and rarely ordering steak abroad, I don’t say this lightly but the steak was amazing, cooked perfectly, and beautifully presented. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Later at the bar, the service continued to impress. Maksymilian was professional, attentive, and a real credit to the hotel. Service like that genuinely elevates the entire experience. Overall, Hotel Haffner is an exceptional hotel in every sense, from food and service to design and atmosphere, all at the highest level. We stayed here last year, and somehow it just keeps getting better!!
