Our tour guide Lucas was very informative and helpful and we had a great time. Gave us some tips for our actual tour of the castle since he steps away for that part and gave us lots of great information about the history of the area. The tour was exactly what we were hoping for. I would definitely recommend.

We booked the Neuschwanstein Castle Tour based on the numerous high reviews of the tour and of Jake as a guide, and he certainly didn't disappoint! From the second Jake picked us up at our Airbnb, he was extremely informative while simultaneously hilarious! Our two kids, 20 and 17, are hard to keep entertained, but Jake was engaging and kept their interest throughout the tour. It was clear he had great relationships with everyone along the route. Other tour guides, shopkeepers, bus drivers - they would all stop to chat with a clearly genuine liking for Jake, which was a testament to his positive attitude and experience. Rather than the typical tour, where you simply move on to the next event, Jake left us wanting to learn even more about the locations we visited. We highly recommend Jake for this tour, and based on how excellent this experience was, we're planning on exploring some of his other tours! I should add - two days later, at lunch today, my 17 year-old said "I wish my history professors were all like Jake. I'd learn so much!"

Jake promptly picked us up from our hotel in a comfortable vehicle and made us feel welcome right away. He was phenomenal, and all four of us are still talking about how special he made the experience. He truly was the “golden nugget” of our trip. Jake went above and beyond to make everything unforgettable and worthwhile. I could write a much longer story, but I’ll keep it simple: book with All Things Garmisch—you won’t be disappointed.

We spent two days touring Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau, Linderhof, Oberammergau and Ettal Abbey with Jake, and it was an excellent experience. Jake has an impressive depth of knowledge about Bavarian history and was able to really enhance the context of what we were seeing. He also kept our days running smoothly—timing, logistics, and transitions between sites were all handled seamlessly and with precision, which made a big difference given how much territory we covered. At one point we joked that he must secretly control the schedule of this part of Bavaria, because everything seemed to work out exactly when and where we needed it to. Jake was also extremely helpful beyond the tours, themselves. He offered tips for our time in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, logistics info, transportation advice and suggestions for nearby towns/attractions. Even though we already had a very full itinerary, his insights really helped us to optimize our time here. Overall, Jake is pleasant, knowledgeable, organized and easy to spend time with. We would highly recommend touring with him.

Jake doesn’t skimp on details. You will love the pluses he provides and the inside scoop. Do It.

We went from Munich to Neuschwanstein castle. Wow. What an amazing day and tour. Our tour guide was unbelievable and so fun. He immediately picked up our pace and just did an outstanding job. He took us to a great restaurant for lunch and ice cream. The monastery stop was also interesting and fun. I highly recommend this tour to anyone! The private car and guide is fully worth every penny.

This tour was a great way to beat the crowds at the castle. The tickets sell out early (9:30). By going through the tour company we didn’t have to worry about missing out.

Jake and All Things Garmisch was by far the best tour guide and tour experience we had on our trip to Germany. Not only was he knowledgeable but also tailored our tour to fit the needs of our family. His personality and his storytelling made the experience even more memorable!

We did the full day private tour to Neuschwanstein and Linderhof with "The Professor " as our guide. He was very knowledgeable and engaging. We have since come home and watched a couple of documentaries as we were interested in the historical stories surrounding the site. Everything we were told on the tour checks out on the documentaries! Everything happened as described.....hotel pickup, timed entrance tickets to the castle, adding a stop at Linderhof in the afternoon. This private tour worked out great for us !

Spent a wonderful day with Jake seeing the castle/palace! He took care of everything! The Mercedes Van was sooo comfortable! History lesson was fun. Neuschwanstein & Linderhof Palace were magnificent! I would book this again!

Although Neuschwanstein is a splendor all on its own, Rose made this tour unforgettable. She arrived 3 minutes early and didn’t get frustrated when we needed an extra 10 minutes (we were still jet lagged!) and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Throughout the trip Rose shared the history of the castle as well as the history of Germany to provide us with the needed context to understand what was taking place at the time of King Ludwig II. I’m sure all the guides are wonderful and I am so happy we had Rose to be there as we created lifetime memories.

Lucas was so well versed in all things Bavaria! He was so kind and helpful! He took us to an extra UNESCO site that was the most beautifully adorned cathedral I have ever seen! A must book experience!

If you are on the fence about booking this tour, do not hesitate!! Book it! We were picked up in a beautiful Mercedes van! Our tour guide, David, was knowledgable about the area, full of fun facts and lots of fun to chat with. I feel like I made a new friend! We were treated like VIP’s! The areas we visited are breathtaking! Don’t miss the Alpine Coaster! It’s not for the faint of heart, but an absolute blast! Our experiences today checked all of my boxes for the entire trip! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the region’s history, historical figures politically and militarily, and told the region’s story in depth throughout the day, letting history unfold as we worked our way through the sites. It is rare and unexpected to have this level of depth and talent in a tour guide, all with a sense of humor, story telling flair, and guidance throughout the day. Definitely the best experience of this type I’ve ever had. Prost!

This was such a wonderful tour in every way! Our tour guide, Caroline, was a treasure. She instantly made us feel comfortable as we set off on our day. My husband and I had a VIP experience and would highly recommend.

Jake was an incredible guide. Him being an obvious history buff my wife and I learned so much about Austrian and Bavaria royal families and the decisions they made to hold their countries together. Jake also provided deeper insights into what King Ludwig was like and what helped to shape the decisions he made. I could not imagine going to Neuschwanstein Castle without a guide like Jake and so glad we made the investment.

The tour gives a nice day long overview of the area and the castle and church were highlights - we recommend this tour as a great way to see the castle with a minimum of hassle and then a leisurely tour of the gorgeous area .

Jake was great! Met us at our hotel, and took us to coffee pastry shop, and then to Castle. Jake really knows his history and how to tell a story. He was very informative and is an all-around great guy. We had an amazing lunch afterwards overlooking the castle. Went to a nice Bavarian town and walked around and also to the monastery. Jake makes the trip great, and we really enjoyed our day with him and look forward to doing additional trips with him in the future!

Well, might be ok ? They canceled on us at the last minute 3 days before our paid in full RSVP. Made our rsvp 6 months ago, booked & paid for hotel in Garmisch. Never made it to Neuschwanstein Castle. We tried to book with other companies, they where all booked up. So maybe in my next life I can go visit this castle.

This was a great tour, and I couldn't have picked a more perfect way to spend our final day in Bavaria. Our tour guide Jim picked us up at our hotel and drove us around all the small mountain towns in the area telling us stories and legends about the area. He was patient as we peppered him with questions about the area and Germany in general and gave us a lot of great information. Going to Neuschwanstein he gave us so much background that I felt like I appreciated the tour of the castle that much more. He also took us to a couple churches that we would never have found on our own and told us their amazing stories.

Jim was an excellent guide; informative, funny and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour! He gave us a bunch of helpful tips for the rest of our stay.

This was an absolutely amazing tour - Jake was so much fun and knowledgeable and had great, interesting stories to tell. Would highly recommend any of his tours!

Jake met us at our hotel and he had a stocked van of water and interesting dialog! We went straight to Neuschwanstein Castle and on the way told us about the area and some of the history of the Castle. He was funny and informative, he answered questions and clarified when we were lost amongst the Ludwigs! We toured the Castle and had a day with perfect weather. He arranged a table for us at the Hotel Muller cafe and the food was excellent. My daughter is vegan and they had a couple of delicious offerings for her. We altered the itinerary a bit and Jake was very flexible and direct with expectations. On to Zugespitze on the Austrian side. As it was late in the day, we did not have a lot of time at the top but the ride up was so worth it. Jake delivered us back to our hotel and we learned a lot about Bavaria. My daughter and I loved our trip with Jake and our time together. It was worth every penny and we both would love to visit Bavaria again and meet up with Jake. He has a huge wealth of knowledge and experience in the region! Thank you Jake!

my family and i took the private tour to neuschwanstein castle (and its surroundings) and it was a blast! jake is a fantastic storyteller who reveals the narrative piece by piece as you move along the tour and makes sure you get all the finer details; we felt like watching a netflix show! his recommendations were spot-on throughout the day and everything went as advertised. also, he is super kid friendly and knows how to connect with them - we think our 9 and 4.5 year old boys had a day to remember for the rest of their lives. i’d highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience this gorgeous area in a privileged way.

My family and I travel every two years on a family vacation and this year the whole family, 11 of us, traveled through Europe. With that being said, we have had a lot of private tours and guides and Jake was by far the best we have ever had. Let’s start with our trip to the passion play, Jake knew we would be struggling as my father is handicapped and he drove over to drive us to our destination( not part of the package); this was on his day off which just shows his customer service. The next day we had booked a all day tour with Jake he was very knowledgeable of everything we saw and didn’t see; Giving us a history course which we loved so much. We also had 5 kids with us and Jake was as good with them as he was with us; making them laugh the entire time. He showed us the best restaurants and even helped us with our future plans on where to eat and stay. you can tell he loves his job and Is all about customer service, making you laugh and showing you a good time by his massive amount of knowledge and his continuous efforts to make you have the best trip possible. I don’t say this often “Jake is the best tour guide” we have ever had and, like I said earlier, we travel a lot as a family. He will be arranging all of our visits to Europe moving forward My only complaint is that I can only give Jake 5 stars when I want to give him 10 and that we didn’t hire Jake for the whole vacation :-( something the whole family is still talking about.

Thanks to the organizer and guide, this was an incredible experience! The organiser called me prior to the tour to explain the entire process and what to expect. Fast forward to when I was picked up by the tour guide at an agreed-upon location, and we didn't have to wait in line for tickets as promised. The tour guide had extensive knowledge and background on castles and German kings and was gracious enough to share the history with us on our way to the castle. He tells the stories so good, you wouldn't want to stop listening. We then joined the group tour of about 20 people inside the castle, and when we finished, the tour guide was waiting outside to collect my family. Overall, I highly recommend this experience; you will not be disappointed!

We had a fantastic day at Neuschwanstein Castle & touring the area! We had a charcuterie style meal (brotzeit!?) outside at a beautiful farm and toured Garmisch-Partenkirchen. If you want to actually go home knowing something about the area & it’s history please treat yourself to a tour with Jake!!! He is super friendly, seemed to know everyone & is extremely accommodating and flexible-he’ll make sure you get to see & do what you’re interested in. Great suggestions for the rest of our time as well such as places to find certain food, tours to try that don’t really require a guide, all that good stuff. Favorite day in Germany!

Extremely satisfied with our tour. Jake is a knowledgeable guide; making the experience educational as well as entertaining for us all. Jake picked us up in a comfortable spacious vehicle; providing historical perspective along the route to Neuschwanstein Castle. After the tour, Jake recommended a local restaurant (at a farmhouse) for a charcuterie style meal; highly recommend accepting his recommendation for the price, scenery, and Bavarian experience.

Fantastic Tour of Neuschwanstein Castle along with Oberammergau and the Ettal Monastery. Jake is a professional and knows his stuff. Picks you up in a nice vehicle that makes for a smooth ride and provides history and background to what you are seeing. Does a fantastic job keeping kids and adults engaged in the trip. Our family of 4 spent the day with Jake touring Neuschwanstein Castle and it was, as my 12 year old said, the best part of our 2 week trip through Europe. Jake went well above and beyond to make our day special, showing us the hidden gems of the area, and treating us like family. As a special note, and to just show how professional and amazing Jake is, we had actually booked a different personal tour guide months ago ahead of our trip. Unfortunately due to a family tragedy they had to cancel but Jake picked up our plans from the other tour guide, literally 3 days before we got there. Certainly the castle tour was amazing and Jake does an outstanding job of explaining the history and the context of the time the castle was built but my kids (and the parents also quite frankly) loved the alpine slide and the lunch location he picked out for us. These were by no means 'normal' tourists stops but truly places that only a local who cares to show his friends and family what the area has to offer, goes to. When we are back in the area we will 100% be using Jake again and I would strongly recommend you do as well!
