About Activity
Discover Panama’s rainforest, wildlife, and Indigenous culture on this approximately 4-hour private tour. The experience begins at Gamboa Rainforest Resort, where a bilingual guide accompanies you on a boat journey through the Panama Canal and into secluded waterways. Cruise among hidden islands in search of Capuchin and Howler monkeys, often seen leaping through the trees and, occasionally, approaching the boat out of curiosity.
Continue to an Emberá community, where you will be welcomed by the community’s chief and introduced to the history, traditions, and cultural heritage of the Emberá people, who originate from the Darién region. Learn about their traditional way of life, including handcrafted canoes, baskets, plates, and masks made from natural materials. Enjoy a typical lunch followed by a folkloric presentation featuring traditional music and dances before returning to your starting point.
