The only thing luxury about this resort is its grounds and view. Everything else is like staying in a large motel 6. The exterior is unkept. The hallways have stained, ripped, outdated rugs. The check out desk is underwhelming. They actually turned where the check out should be into a venue area. Our room had a stopped up shower drain, flattened box spring, stained sheets and dusty/dirty surfaces. The free breakfast had frozen waffles and basic foods. The restaurant food was also basic and underwhelming. They call this an eco-luxury resort. This is very false. I will never stay here again unless it’s under new ownership. Don’t stay here otherwise. Try Gamboa instead.

Our stay at the Summit Rainforest & Golf Resort was a bit of a mixed bag. While the access to wildlife is a 10/10, the hotel infrastructure and guest management have some room for improvement. The setting is beautiful but remote. If you don’t have a car, you are essentially limited to the on-site restaurant. You can take a 15-minute Uber to find other dining options, but it’s something to plan for. The hotel itself feels a bit outdated. I noticed chipping paint and some deferred maintenance. Our room was largely comfortable, but we couldn't enjoy the balcony much because the door was difficult to open and the railing felt loose. The hotel seems to have relocated its reception to the second floor, turning the main lobby into an event space. This made check-in a bit chaotic with more than a couple of people in line. We also arrived late to the sound of a wedding reception that blasted music until 1:00 a.m., which wasn't ideal for a peaceful rainforest getaway. A note on the pool: On weekends, they appear to sell day passes to non-guests. There was no separation between hotel guests and day-pass holders, making it nearly impossible to find a seat. I’d love to see the hotel prioritize staying guests in the future. Additionally, in order to get pool towels you had to leave a passport. I found that odd given the hotel already had our passport information. Highlights include: The Wildlife: This is the real reason to stay here. From our third-floor room, the view was exceptional. We saw monkeys, birds, caimans, sloths, frogs, and even a capybara! Night Golf Cart Tour: We did this at sunset, and it was a blast. It’s a fantastic way to see the animals on the property. The Food: Lunch and dinner were actually quite good! Breakfast was a standard buffet—exactly what you’d expect. You truly can't beat being right in the heart of nature, and seeing the local wildlife was a highlight of our trip. However, a few updates to the facilities, clearing up of the trash around the grounds and better management of the weekend crowds would have easily made this a 10/10 stay. Bonus the golf course is closed Mondays. They allow you to walk the cart path though and that was a great way to see animals. Also fun for kids.
Beautiful place, 6 weeks travelling around panama, this booked on booking.com was the best price-performance ratio at all.... Big room, first class breakfast buffet, beautiful nature. There isn`t a free guided hike anymore, but also not needed....there is a 5 km forrest circle hike that you can do by yourself, be sure to do it, it was a highlight for us, needs 2 hours and good hiking sandals....soo beautiful..... I almost never do hotel reviews...but this place was outstanding compared to what you pay for...
This is an older hotel, but very clean and great service all around. We just ate breakfast here every morning since it was included with our room, and it was delightful, check in was smooth, every one is friendly and helpful. The best part was the jungle tour on site with Sergio, super knowledge and friendly guy, we saw sloth, lots of birds and butterflies, it was an amazing hour and half in the nature which was also included with our stay.
It's an older but a very clean hotel that needs some upgrades. Rooms are very clean, service is very good, Cesar at the reception is very polite and helpful and made our check in process a smooth one. The location has a couple of okay restaurants and you need to drive 20 minutes to get to any decent restaurants, shops and supermarkets for any grocery. The buffet breakfast was good every morning specially the omelet station. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
