Udawalawa National Park Half Day Safari

Thanks to the timely information about the pickup, everything worked perfectly. The safari was a wonderful experience. The park is not overcrowded with tourists and we were able to see and observe various animals (elephants, crocodiles and different bird species, etc.). We would definitely go on a safari in Uduwalawe National Park again.

Shehan is such a super kind and helpful guy. I was traveling on my own, and he helped me so much — I truly felt looked after and safe. Shehan is the great and experienced guide. He is very dedicated, professional and reliable. We travelled with him 5 days. He helped a lot with planning ideal route and then guided us during the whole trip. We would not see so many places alone. He is also very flexible. I fully recommend trips with him.

The experience was amazing, we spent 4 full days with Shehan while he was driving us through Sri Lankan landmarks. One of them was the safari. We adjusted the plan to our needs and Shehan was very flexible and responsive. We also got to places which are not available for a regular turist. I genuine recommend booking this trip. During safari we found birds species and animals that where not even mentioned in the leaflet. We have also seen other places with Shehan like coconut hill, stilt fishermen etc.

We did a 4-hour safari in the afternoon and it was amazing. We saw a lot of animals and he was able to tell us a lot about. Everything was perfect - No rushing, no time pressure. Wonderful day

I highly recommend trips with Shehan. He has great organizational experience and extensive knowledge of Sri Lanka. We visited many fascinating places, and thanks to Shehan, we truly felt the spirit of this country. He is very engaged with the group and responsive to everyone’s needs. We stayed in very nice hotels with breakfast included, and during the day we enjoyed delicious local cuisine. We traveled in an air-conditioned minibus, and the driver drove safely. We did a safari to Udawalawa with our amazing gide Kuma. He picked us up at 11.45 at our hotel in Tangalle and bring us to a restaurant to have lunch before the Safari. We invited Kuma to have lunch with us and after the lunch, Daru was already waiting for us with his jeep. We drove to the national park were Kuma & Daru told us everything about the landscape, some trees and a lot of animals. They take there time to explain and show us everything there is to see and they know where to find the animals. Daru is a really good driver that drives very calm and sees the smallest animals to show us, like a baby chameleon in a tree. Kuma is also a really calm driver that brought is safely to Udawalawa and back to Tangalle. We saw a lot of animals and the little baby elephant made our day extra special 🫶🏼 If you are going to book a safari, then you should definitly book it here.

We didn't just go for Udawalawe Safari, but this was also really good experience, elephants! We spent one week with Shehan and after that I can truly say that if you want guide, who is flexible, relaxed and knows everybody in the country (just half-joking) you have to choose him!

The afternoon safari at Udawalawe National Park was a highlight of our two week trip around Sri Lanka! The Toyota Hilux was very comfortable and our driver was both smooth and safe. He was also great at spotting wildlife which we would have otherwise missed - we were lucky enough to see a rare wild cat! Overall we'd highly recommend booking with Shenhan Safaris!

We did Udawalawe and not Yala, because our host told us, that it is very nice too and not too overcrowded - he was right! We had a great afternoon and saw many animals, especially elephants! It was a great experience!

Shehan was a great tour operator. He made things easy in that he organises everything, he was flexible when we kept changing our minds, and he was very knowledgeable on the safari. And we saw soooo many animals on the safari it was amazing and definitely worth it.

I’ve been in Sri Lanka 2 times and both times I did tours with Shehan. To mention some, I’ve been around Tangalle, Ella, Safari in Udawalala, tea plantation etc. it has been a pleasure every time! It was amazing from first to last moment. Very helpfullness, right on time, perfect communication, very attentive drivers. We saw a lot of animals, especially elephants from long and very short distance too. We have daytime safari, guide recommend us this time and it was a perfect decision. It was a fantastic day,! Shehan created a wonderful day for me and made it nice and easy as a solo traveller. He had great communication with me before, during and after the trip (and even checked to make sure I got home safely with our driver and gave me a recommendation for a local eatery to try ‘hoppers’). Shehan also added in a stop for me so I could go to a tea plantation. Before the safari I got to stop at a lovely restaurant where I tried a traditional Sri Lankan curry. On the safari we saw many wildlife and Shehan and the jeep driver help scout out all the wildlife to me and explain somethings about them, so I learnt a lot. Thank you very much Shehan for arranging a great day for me! ☺️

I did ask Shehan about a safari to Udawalawe and this was one of the best decisions of our holidays in Sri Lanka. He organized everything: a driver to the national park, a Jeep incl a driver and even our further transportation to our stay in Ella. During the whole trip he was with us, answered all of our questions and told us some facts about the animals in the national park. So, all in all, it was a very good, perfectly organized day with a good talk included. I would definitely recommend to do a trip with Shehan, if you plan to go somewhere starting from Tangalle!

Amazing day out! The driver and guide were very friendly and helpful. The park is amazing, huge and with lots of different animal species. It’s unbelievable to stand so close to an elephant!! Definitely recommend.

Shehan is absolutely amazing! He is so good at spotting the wildlife and will always give you plenty of time to take photos rather than rushing through and trip . He has got so much information about the area and animals . Absolutely 5 stars and highly recommended!

Our safari was amazing ! Shehan is an excellent tour guide , and got so much knowledge about the animals and the park . he was unbelievable at spotting animals . we saw elephants , deers, buffaloes , iguana , indian jacka and hundreds of birds . The best thing was shehan and his driver were very respectful and never chaced/ got too close to the animals. would highly recommended 🙏🙏.

It was all perfectly organised! We were picked up from where we stayed in hiriketiya, and since we wanted to continue to ella after that Shehan arranged for us to be dropped off in ella :) The safari itself was so nice, when we arrived the car was already waiting for us and we were one of the first in the park! I really wanted to visit the Udawalawa National Park during my stay in Sri Lanka, but could not find any tours. I then saw the advert for this trip and decided to contact Shehan. He was very kind and organized a trip for the next day with custom pick-up and drop-off locations, with less than 12 hours advice. As I was traveling alone, the price was a bit high, but considering the taxi, national park ticket and Jeep, and tour guide, I think it was quite fair.

We chose to do 3 hours safari in udawalawa national park with Shehan c and had an absolutely great time. Everything well organized.We saw animals around every corner including elephants, crocodiles, foxes , Water monitors, wild buffalos and so many birds. The driver of the jeep seems to be a master of his craft. Shehan and His Jeep driver spot every animal no matter how far it is while other guides miss many of the not as absolutely animals. Go with shehan and get more benefits.

I very much appreciated the availability of the staff and the very serious explanations of the safari. We highly enjoyed the safari itself. We left early in the morning, there were not many people, but they should fill the jeeps to avoid jeeps gathering around the animals. When an animal comes to us, avoiding jumping on it would be more respectful of nature. But overall we found the guides and staff respectful, kind, attentive and attentive.

The 4-hour safari in the morning was breathtaking. Shehan has been able to tell us a lot about the animals. We had a wonderful time. No rushing, no time pressure, and a lot of respect and love for the animals.

Dzień 2 – zaczęliśmy od ogrodu ziołowego, odwiedziliśmy Świątynię Zęba w Kandy, później plantację herbaty i zakończyliśmy dzień na wieży Ambuluwawa – jedna z naszych ulubionych atrakcji! Dzień 3 – spacer po klimatycznej Nuwara Eliyi, wodospad Nanu Oya, niesamowity przejazd pociągiem i wejście na Mini Adam’s Peak – idealne na zdjęcia! Dzień 4 – zobaczyliśmy słynny Nine Arch Bridge, dwa zapierające dech w piersiach wodospady (Diyaluma i Rawana), a na koniec emocjonujące safari w Parku Narodowym Udawalawa, gdzie widzieliśmy słonie z bliska! Dzień zakończył się transferem do Tangalle, gdzie mogliśmy się zrelaksować po intensywnej wyprawie. Dodatkowym atutem było to, że nasz przewodnik znał świetne, lokalne miejsca na lunche i kolacje – dzięki niemu spróbowaliśmy autentycznej kuchni lankijskiej w najlepszym wydaniu. Wszystko było zorganizowane perfekcyjnie – przewodnik był punktualny, sympatyczny, pełen wiedzy i pasji, a jednocześnie elastyczny i bardzo pomocny. Dzięki niemu czuliśmy się bezpiecznie i mogliśmy w pełni skupić się na chłonięciu wrażeń. Shehan zawsze wiedział gdzie się ustawić do zdjęcia i omijaliśmy tłumy turystów :) Z całego serca polecamy! If you go on safari, do it only with Shehan! He is punctual, has many years of experience in organizing safaris and knowledge about animals. His keen eye will spot even very hidden animals. you can really trust shehan! He also has a great sense of humor, we had the best time together!

It was a great tour! Everything was perfectly organized, transport and transfer were of excellent quality. We saw a huge number of animals and of course many elephants. Adults, kids, they played and were very close. One elephant even touched me with his trunk. I definitely recommend this excursion. We were delighted
