I had an amazing time with the team, I was able to participate in making my own ring and pendant with my favourites stones. I brought some opales and they help me to make a dream come true making my own jewellery with them. I’m in love with my ring & pendant I will cherish them for life. And I came with my child, really young so they wasn’t able to participate but the team take so good care of them to give me the time to enjoy a moment for myself. I reckon this place for sure if you wanna try to work with silver !!

Very good experience. Employees were helpful and hands on while also allowing you to take control of the process. We made rings and also painted some traditional wooden carvings. Silver was priced fairly and our rings turned out great. Would highly recommend!
Fabulous people - we really enjoyed our afternoon making our lovely rings - very helpful and we will treasure our momentos of Sri Lanka - would highly recommend
We had such a lovely time here! I chose my own design, and they put so much time and effort into bringing it to life from scratch. There was also a great variety of stones to choose from. Thank you so much!
We booked this activity because making our own rings seemed like a fun and unique experience. And it certainly was! The craftsmen were patient and friendly. As we’d provided our own designs, the activity took longer than the scheduled time (3 hours). However, it was lovely that they took the time to guide us through bringing our idea to life and through the various steps involved. As a result, we ended up with a beautiful end result that we’d actually helped to create ourselves. We had a brilliant time and are going home with wonderful memories and a lovely ring. Thank you so much!
What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon and such an eye opener to watch and take part in the making of your own piece of unique jewellery. It was a pleasure to watch a master craftsman at work! The family are so warm and friendly and we learned so much about the whole process.
Beautiful jewellery and a lovely family. An authentic and informal workshop experience, with the option to do as much or as little crafting as you wish. Relaxed option of snacks (fruit and roti with fiery chill paste!). Tea and bottled water offered too. We left with two beautiful silver rings made to our chosen design and finished to perfection by the skilled master craftsman and the multi-generational family team. Thank you.
It was a really wonderful and enjoyable workshop that my girlfriend and I took part in! We felt very comfortable and welcome right from the start; the family is very friendly, kind, and accommodating, and they try to let you do as much as possible yourself when making the ring (depending on the design, sometimes more, sometimes less). When we shared our budget, they were very understanding and made sure we could stay within it even with the gemstone, so it was a wonderful experience here as well. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone who would like to try their hand at making their own ring!
What a great experience! We learnt so much and the family were so welcoming! This is an activity we squeezed in on our way through and we are so glad we did! Recommend it to anyone who goes to Galle!
This was an amazing experience to get to visit the local jewellers and be walked through each step of creating a gorgeous piece of jewellery. The family are most gracious hosts, providing tea on arrival and a small meal halfway through. You get hands on with the process right from choosing gemstones, melting the silver, shaping, filing and polishing to see the incredible craftsmanship of this jeweller. Class was £4 each which is excellent value for money and you just pay the price of the jewellery which start from around £30. A very heartwarming and memorable experience with a beautiful souvenir to remember it.
We had the most incredible experience making our own silver rings! From start to finish, it was hands-on, creative, and so much fun. The team were so helpful throughout, the service was amazing, and they even picked us up and dropped us off which made everything so easy. They guided us through designing our rings and made the whole process feel really special. Walking away with something we created ourselves was such a brilliant feeling. Absolutely amazing experience – I would massively recommend this to everyone. You must try it!
I had an amazing time with this experience! I was kindly collected from where I was staying and taken to the workshop where I was provided with drinks and snacks before starting the jewellery choice and making. They help you get involved with most stages of the jewellery making and at a later stage more snacks and drinks were provided. I’m very happy with my ring and the experience! Everyone was so friendly and I really recommend!
I had the most amazing experience with Adhi and Prabhath in Unawatuna! I chose my own stones and had a beautiful silver ring made with tourmaline on both sides and an Australian sapphire in the centre. I arrived at 1pm and my ring was completely finished and ready for me by 6pm the same day! The whole experience is so special because you can actually make the jewellery yourself while they teach and guide you through the process, or if you prefer, you can choose your stones and design and have them make it for you. There were so many beautiful real gemstones and sapphires to choose from, and the prices were soooo affordable, especially for genuine stones and a completely custom piece of jewellery. Adhi and Prabhath were both so lovely, knowledgeable and talented. Such a unique experience and one of my favourite things I did in Sri Lanka. I would 100% recommend visiting them if you’re in Unawatuna! 💍✨
This experience is a must! We were welcomed into our host’s home and studio and taken through every facet of the jewellery making process. My daughter made two rings (presents for her upcoming birthday) and loved been part of the process. A truly magical day spent in the company of kind, welcoming, knowledgeable and talented people. We will be encouraging everyone we know to visit.
amazing, very cool to watch live
Best experience! Really enjoyed the activity, interesting, hands on and at the end a beautiful reminder to take home. Family run, interactive, owner is a real Artisan happy to show you the whole experience, very knowledgeable, we learnt so much. It was a whole family experience, not to be missed.
Me and my mom loved this jewellery making activity. We got the full overview of the making of our rings with melting of silver, to heating, hammering and thinning our the silver and then observing how the host made it into a ring with the chosen gem stone we wanted. The price is cheaper than the stores inside Galle Fort, but the money also goes directly to the family responsible for the activity, for the father and son who makes the rings and the mother who makes the Sri Lankan snacks😊❤️ I recommend highly all visitors, both foreign and Sri Lankan to try this activity. You also get humbled knowing how much work is put into a piece og jewellery!
This is a family run business and what a fabulous way to enjoy discovering how jewelry is made by hand. You first select a style you want created and then off to the workshop. The skills of the jewelry workers are amazing.
I was there with my daughter who wanted to create a charm for her Pandora bracelet as a memory of our vacation. After some drawings it turned into a small turtle with a moon stone. She was extremely happy with the result. Everybody was very friendly, explaining and engaging my daughter in the activity. Wel spend time.
I messaged the place a few days before, asking if instead of a ring, I was able to make a bracelet. They said they can do it for me, but it would be a bit too complicated to make myself. They were always reachable via whatsapp message and very transparent with the pricing. So when I arrived, they had already started making the bracelet but I was still able to make a silver ring, to get the experience. There was somebody always attentive and teaching me, I was never left to my own devices. I would really recommend this experience, you are literally in a local home, sharing with locals. All of the family was lovely and the snacks yummy. They even delivered the bracelet to me later on and I was able to pay by card. The bracelet exceeded all my expectations. Its absolutely beautiful!
Really well run and lovely family
We were welcomed into Stutis family hope for a unique experience in making rings! He was very knowlageable and we were fed delish snacks by his mother :)
My mum and I absolutely loved every part of this experience. The lovely family welcomed us with food on arrival, then we sat and chose our gem and ring style. After that, they took us through to the workshop where we made our own rings. We learned so much and are obsessed with how they turned out. Highly, highly recommend - I’m so glad we chose Senu Jewellers 💗
I had a fantastic time making my own ring at Senu Jewellers! As other reviewers have noted, we were greeted with tea and snacks in their family dining room. After the process was explained to us, we selected our band design and had the option to select a gemstone. We were then led to the workshop room, where we did most of the band design on our own. It was a lot easier than I expected! They helped us with the gemstone setting, as it's a bit more complicated. I'm really happy that I did this experience, especially because it's a family run business.
we had such a plesent experience here making our gorgeous rings - we were welcomed with fabulous food and the process of the ring making was such a special process
Me and my friends wanted to do our own rings to commemorate our trip to Sri Lanka, we were welcomed by a lovely group of people that gave us delicious authentic Sri Lankan food and tea. Then a lovely gentlemen showed us the bands and the gems where we got to design how we would like our rings to look. They then took us to the workshop area to begin, the gentleman were lovely and patient and very good teachers and helped joining in the ring making. They took card and cash and due to my gem came upto 18,000 rupees
My friends and I had the best time making our rings! We were greeted with home made food and tea made by the mum. Our rings turned out so beautiful and we were helped and encouraged the whole time by the lovely men in the workshop! 10/10 would recommend!
Amazing experience. We were welcomed into the family home for lunch which was beautiful. Then we had the opportunity to pick our band, gem and texture. We then went into the workshop and made the rings with expert craftsman’s who allowed us to participate in almost every step (they set the gems into the rings as this part was complicated and they do it so beautifully). The whole experience was wonderful, the family is so friendly and helpful. Couldn’t recommend it enough!! The five of us made beautiful rings that we got to take home for a very reasonable price for the quality and time involved.
I had such a great time ring making! I was shown how to do each step of the process and made a beautiful ring. The family were absolutely lovely, I was given the most delicious breakfast! I would 100% recommend to anyone, such a fun and interesting experience with the loveliest hosts :)
That was honestly one of our highlights from our trip to Sri Lanka. They truly made us feel at home. The breakfast they cooked for us was amazing and they were genuinely kind. Seeing the workers work and being able to participate in the making of our rings really felt special. I 1000% recommend !
We had an amazing evening making our rings. It was such a beautiful and unique experience. We received a warm welcome from the lovely family and were served some yummy home made snacks and a coffee. We then sat and were taken through the precious and semi precious gem stones and picked out the ones we wanted for our rings (you didn’t need a gem but we chose to) we also had to pick the thickness and texture we wanted to make our rings. You could tell they really knew what they were talking about and were so gentle and kind. Next we went to the workshop and helped to make our own rings. The gentleman making the rings were amazing at what they do and makes you appreciate the art that is jewellery making. The host of the evening was fantastic making sure we were enjoying ourselves (even enjoyed a beer). We met some lovely people that evening who were also in the session which made it even more memorable. We adore our new rings and will adore the special memories of the evening forever. Thank you so much for hosting us!!! Katy and John
We were so excited to do a ring making workshop at Senu Jewellers. A family owned workshop with craftsmen who are truly passionate about their work. We were first given a lovely breakfast and then we had a consult on what gemstone we wanted to use and what band size. Once we entered the workshop we were guided on how to craft silver rings and what techniques to use. It was a great experience with this family, a must do when visiting Galle! Thank you
I greatly recommand this workshop, the staff was really sweet and welcoming, they explained everything to us and listened to our preferences. The whole family was super nice and we had a really good breakfast! The rings we made are beautiful and we had them at a fair price! The fact that they didn't pressure us to buy anything was also nice and reassuring! You can trust them blindly
What an incredible experience in a genuine old school workshop. The artisans are very skilled and helpful. This is a family business, originally started by the father over 40 years ago. We were initially welcomed by the family in their home with delicious Sri Lankan treats and tea. I can't speak highly enough of their hospitality. Then we moved next door, to a tiny, well used authentic workshop and met our instructors-two men who have spent their lives perfecting their craft. We were expertly assisted throughout the process of making a simple hammered silver ring. I had taken my own smoky quartz, but gemstones are available to purchase and my instructor, because of the skills required, added this to my ring for me. It would take years to perfect this so understandable why he took over. I then polished my ring to a brilliant shine. The cost of the ring is additional to the initial charge but it was an absolute bargain. If you want a genuine, experience with true craftsmen this is your place. Thank you for the highlight of my trip and a brand new family heirloom with a wonderful story to pass down.
Great workshop with great people. We got some delicious snacks and tea. Everybody was very professional and kind at the same time. All of us have enjoyed it and we have created beautiful rings.
Came here with a friend to do a jewellery workshop and it was one of the highlights of our time in Sri Lanka!! We were welcomed into the home of the family, had delicious food and tea, and were able to engage in the process of making some gorgeous rings from start to finish. The experience felt so personal and generous- this is a family business, and they take the time to introduce you, get to know you, and explain the process. The friendliness of the entire family was so lovely, it was a new level of hospitality! The workshop was also incredible - they were very skilled and great teachers. The price was also very generous and there was great variety in customisation of the rings which was also great. I chose to get a gemstone and was so happy with the final outcome. I also really loved that the guides helped the group mesh together so well - along with my friend, we were in a group of 6, and we all chatted and exchanged stories in a way that was really special. I would recommend all visitors to Galle to do this workshop!!!
The experience was truly wonderful. We were welcomed so warmly, learned a great deal about the work and ring making process, and the rings are simply beautiful. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience. ☺️
Me and my sister went to this workshop this morning, it was lovely to meet the jewellery makers and their family and to be welcomed into their family home.
We spent a very interesting afternoon at Senu Jewlery’s workshop. When we carried we were tread to some very tasty snacks prepare by Prabhath’s mother and made to feel very welcome. He showed us the style of rings we could make and the different types of gems we could use. If you wish to take them home with you, you have to pay for the materials and gem bit the pricing is all very clear and explained at the start. We then went to the workshop and were shown step by step how to make our rings. You have an expert craftsman with you all the time and they help and guide you through the process - stepping in when they need to! It was a fantastic experience and one I totally recommend. You end up with a beautiful piece of jewellery you made yourself!
The workshop was with awesome!! We got a really personalized experience by choosing our own band and gems. The host and his family were so welcoming and adorable.
It was a fantastic workshop! You receive a warm welcome from the family; they are all incredibly hospitable. You're greeted with a cup of tea and Sri Lankan treats. Meanwhile, you can choose a stone. Afterward, you can go to the "factory" to create your piece of jewelry with a master craftsman. Afterward, we were even invited to join them for curry, which was so much fun!
During our holiday we made our own silver rings here. My partner and I both found it a really wonderful experience. You are warmly welcomed and everyone is incredibly friendly, so the three hours flew by. And in the end, we came away with two beautiful rings!
Fantastic experience! Don’t miss the opportunity to make your own peace of jewelry with this beautiful family. They are very lovely, honest and great masters in what they do. 100/10
It‘s was an amazing experience with a lot of lovely people!! The price is really fair because the product is stunning. Thank you
I had a brilliant time, lovely friendly and extremely welcoming family business! Would totally recommend to absolutely anyone visiting Galle! Incredible prices and jewellery! Thank you guys :)
A wonderful friendly experience that I would highly recommend. Warm welcome friendly environment. Highly crafted workmen that give 100% attention to detail and great customer service.
It was great fun, amazing people that show you their craftsmanship. It is nice to see how this family does their work. In the beginning you can pick what stone you want in your piece. Then in the atelier they will make the Mall for the Stone since that is difficult work and requires precision they will do this for you. With the band you can help with some steps! Meanwhile we were having nice conversations with the family about life in Sri Lanka. We loved the result and we're very happy with this experience! Go see for yourself!
We absolutely loved this heartwarming, traditional Sri Lankan experience! It was a privilege to be shown how the family business is run with 40+ years of experience in making jewellery, and to make our own rings with them. We wanted a jewellery making experience that allowed us to take part and not just watch, and this was perfect. The location is away from Galle Fort, but worth it for the experience of being thoughtfully welcomed into the family home and meeting lots of the family, including their lovely children. A Sri Lankan lunch and tea were also kindly provided. Their passion in sharing with others what they do shone through and we hope this new business venture continues to be a success for them.
Great traditional Sri Lankan breakfast! The people were very kind and let us take part in making the ring. They explained everything clearly, making it an enjoyable and educational experience. As a bonus, they also helped me fix one of my old rings free of charge, which was incredibly kind of them!
the family gave us a warm welcome with typical sri lankan snacks. Then we met the silversmith that created a very new nice pendant to complete my old set. I appreciated the skills and the patience , recreating a pendant similar to my ring. He managed to do it perfectly the same and it maked me very happy. it is incredible how much work is behind a jewel and how many steps one single piece is about. great experience that I would recommend.
