We received a very warm welcome upon arrival and immediately felt at home. When we were shown our room, I was a little disappointed. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the rooms are somewhat dated and could use some refurbishment in places, especially considering the price you pay to stay here. We traveled extensively around Sri Lanka and, for less money, we sometimes stayed in rooms that were better maintained. That said, the room was very spacious, which we really appreciated. The staff were incredibly friendly throughout our stay. The swimming pool was a lovely place to relax. We were also very satisfied with the food. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all well presented, delicious, and of a high standard. Well done! The location is another great advantage and is definitely worth recommending. Overall, we would certainly return and would be happy to stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Le Grand Galle. Everything was excellent from check-in to check-out. The staff were genuinely warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. The hotel was spotless, the swimming pool was lovely, and our sea-view room offered a beautiful view of the ocean. The restaurant served a wide variety of dishes, including plenty of delicious options that were not overly spicy, which we really appreciated. A very special thanks to Isham for his impeccable room service and professionalism. He made our stay even more enjoyable. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Galle.
Le Grand Galle is a beautiful luxury hotel located close to Galle Fort with amazing views of the ocean. The rooms are modern, spacious and very clean giving a comfortable and relaxing stay. The staff are very friendly and always ready to help making guests feel welcome. The infinity pool and sea view are highlights perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sunset. Breakfast and food options are also good with a nice variety. Overall it is a great place for a peaceful and comfortable stay in Galle especially for couples and families.
This hotel is definetly deserving of its status, the service was amazing and the staff were extremely accomodating and kind. Tha rooms were great and the beds were very comfortable although the temperature settings were a little difficult to understand. The seaside location is great and it is a very short walk from the galle fort which you can see from you window as well. The only gripe i had was the international food left something to be desired, but the sri lankan food was delicious.
Before coming to Sri Lanka, we spent at least 5–6 hours searching for hotels, so I wanted to leave a helpful review for others. We stayed at this hotel for three nights, and from the moment you arrive, you immediately feel the five-star quality. You are welcomed with scented towels and refreshing exotic drinks. The room includes a minibar and complimentary coffee, and every day they provide two large 1.5L bottles of water (we were two people). The view is amazing. The food was excellent—especially the breakfasts. There is a wide variety of both traditional and international options, and they can prepare special dishes upon request. The rooms were generally clean, although the bathroom could have been maintained a bit better. The bathroom door was quite heavy and slightly inconvenient to use. It’s important to note that there is no direct access to the ocean, and there are no lifeguards. Swimming in the ocean is not really possible, so if that’s important to you, this hotel may not be the best choice. During our stay, I felt very comfortable leaving my belongings in the room, and the overall environment felt safe and respectful. Don’t miss the happy hour! Also, the hotel offers free cultural tours—definitely ask about them when you arrive.
