The absolute best tour guide I’ve had in my travels to more than 73 countries! If you come to Botswana, and do not choose this tour guide, you’re probably making a big mistake! Otto was so knowledgeable, informative, hospitable, and a true professional! It truly made it one of the most delightful tours I’ve ever taken

Our guide will walk you through the stages of history that took Botswana from being a handful of tribes to a prosperous nation
The Main Mall....Here we visit Botswana's very first mall. Now a thriving collection of vendors and supermarkets, it is a chance to meet locals, buy local ornaments, and taste available indigenous fruit.
Cattle play a big part in Botswana peoples culture. Through contributions of cattle and other livestock, the people built their very first university
From a magistrates court to a visual arts center. View the artwork, meet the artists, an old dugout fort is also in the area, as well as Gaborone's first prison and first post office
The capital of Botswana is named after the late chief of the Batlokwa tribe, chief Gaborone (pronounced Gaboronee) his people now live in Tlokweng adjacent to the city. Get a different view of greater Gaborone as we drive through this modern village.
We drive through the only township in Botswana, it provided the labor force that built the city and today provides the labor that runs the city

Oscar was a e Cellini guide but talked just too much and I kept having to interrupt to be able to ask questions that interested me. We had been here a week so already knew a bit of background.. unfortunate to strike presidents funeral day so couldn’t get out of the car at times. We asked to go to the National museum as have been many times to the Game mall !!! Meant to be Main mall in your activities. Am I the first to notice that big mistake?
Otto is a fantastic tour guide and was very flexible in booking my last minute personalized tour
I had an incredible morning with Otto! This was my first time in Gaborone and she made it so special. I will definitely be coming back!!
I only had one full day to experience Gaborone, Botswana so I decided to book this tour so I could see all that I could, turns out I chose well with this one! My guide, Andy, picked me up from my hotel at 9 am and ended when he dropped me back off at 1 pm. We visited many notable spots in Gaborone including the Three Dikgosi Monument to learn about Botswana’s History, the Main Mall to shop for crafts and local foods, the University of Botswana, and the Thapong Visual Arts Centre. I learned and saw a lot in Gaborone, the capital city of Botswana today and a big thank you to my guide, Andy, for doing great job being my guide for this tour! If you’re looking for a tour that shows you Gaborone in just one day definitely consider booking this tour! Highly recommended! - Nolan
Was a really great tour and the tour guide was really friendly and informative. Was a really great way to see the city.
What a wonderful half day. Otto was so friendly and full of information and she went way beyond the call of duty to make sure I had a good experience. She took me to the National Museum which I highly recommend.
Otto is absolutely amazing. My only regret is that I didn’t book a full day tour with her because time passed too quickly. The itinerary was great, but Otto’s personality and knowledge of her country made the trip even more amazing. I can’t recommend her enough!
Our group of 15 had an amazing Gabarone City Tour with our tour guide, Andy. He was knowledgeable, kind and helpful. He exceeded everyone’s expectations. Otto was so responsive in helping me arrange the tour customizing for our group. I would highly recommend this company.
Andy was brilliant! Knowledgeable, amicable and very accomodating. Excellent and pleasurable tour, would recommend it to all.
Although it was a rainy day, I had a great experience going through the city seeing and learning about the city history. The tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable on the city and history. I really enjoyed the experience.
The tour guide was absolutely amazing, Botswana and the amazing, kind people of Gaborone made this such a great trip. We toured the city, markets and historical sights. The guide was helpful and so knowledgeable. I will definitely be back.
Otto was amazing. You can tell she is excited to talk about her history. She was very personable, it was like talking to my little sister. I really enjoyed my time on her tour and hopefully I can bring my parents next time.
Otto is a great guide, I highly recommend her! This tour is great to discover Gaborone, but also Botswana history and daily life.
Meeting Otto was like meeting an old friend who I could chat to for hours. True to the name of her company, Otto proudly introduced me to the heritage and rich culture of Botswana and the history of the country. As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe and comfortable and would highly recommend this tour.
Our tour guide Otto was very knowledge and above all, very patient and friendly with my kids. Unfortunately, we couldn't get to take pictures at the Three Chiefs Monument because there was a private event by The Culturati and the security/organizer wanted us to pay to take pictures. Quite sad, but Otto offered to take us another day if possible. The rest of the tour was great, learnt a lot about Bostwana history, got to taste indigenous nuts and we even got to see a wedding going on as we drove pass the modern village.
We had an amazing time touring Gabarone with Heritage Adventures. Our guide really tailor made the trip for our interests and their historical knowledge of the area brought a whole new dimension to the experience. We even took part in a jewelry workshop. I can thoroughly recommend this tour.
Wonderful tour of Gaborone. The company is owned by Otto and her husband Andy. We had Otto as our guide. She grew up in gaborone, and is very knowledgeable. We were picked up by our hotel, walked at the local market and also visited the university grounds. A very authentic and lovely tour I can highly recommend.
Wonderful time! The guide (Andy) was very knowledgeable and took me to many interesting sights. Lots of opportunities to buy wonderful souvenirs and gifts. Also gave lots of advice on things to do.
The Three Dikgosi Monuments . Beautiful and impressive. The tour guide Andy very knowledgeable, professional, kind, went over and above to make sure I enjoyed my trip, and get back to the airport on time, so I don't miss my flight back to Johannesburg.
I had an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone that wants to learn the history of Botswana in a short amount of time.
It was a pure delight, my City Tour with Andy today. He is very knowledgeable and professional as well as very nice. I learnt a lot about Botswana today and also had a lot of fun. THANK YOU, Andy. Kind regards, Gabriela from Switzerland
Today my husband and I did a City Tour of Gaberone with Otto and Andy. These two guides were so warm hearted and kind. They spoke excellent English and they were very knowledgable, patient and helpful. We saw the Three Chiefs statues and heard about the history surrounding them, a local market where we tasted pounded beef (looked like pulled beef) and sugar beans and maize, a graveyard with British soldiers who had died in the Boer war, an art gallery, the university, a township and local villages. Most importantly we learnt about how people in Botswana live; healthcare, marriage and all the ceremonies it entails, social care, education, and even law enforcement and capital punishment and just so much more. We very much loved our afternoon with these two peeps.
A wonderful toir.3 hours went by so fast, especially because i was having fun and learning. My tour guide Otto was amazing+
Just did the tour today and it was fantastic! Learned a ton about the city and country and got an amazing perspective from a local. We even got to try some native fruits and eat traditional food! Couldn’t ask for a better tour.
I really enjoyed myself. Otto's was amazing she went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful time. I highly recommend booking this tour and requesting Otto's. We went to places listed and not listed on the tour and I couldn't have asked for a more better tour guide and experience. Definitely recommend this tour!!
Excellent experience Otto shared great information&insight that only a resident can. Don’t pass on it
My guide was most wonderful! So very knowledgeable, accommodating, patient, and what a driver! I am blessed to now call him my friend.
My guide Otto was fantastic! She had a tour itinerary but let me make some changes based on things I wanted to do and see as well. Make sure to ask her about the Chinese thrift stores! Easily a highlight of my trip!
Well informed and great conversation. Thank you for taking the time to share your country's history.
Andy was a marvelous guide. He was very friendly, insightful and willing to answer questions and engage in conversation. Samuel at the monument tour was equally engaging. Botswana is a beautiful country with lovely people.
Heritage Adventures met my expectations and beyond with a carefully constructed guided tour of Gaborone and some of the surrounding areas. I had long dreamed of visiting Botswana for no other purpose than curiosity of the country. From when I first expressed interest, Otto was in frequent contact to understand my interests and make suggestions for touring options. Otto and our guide, Andy, designed a tour showcasing the history, art, and culture of Botswana that was above and beyond what I could have imagined. Many people understandably visit Botswana for the large parks and wildlife, but there is so much to uncover in Gaborone with their help. Their dedication to sharing Botswana's fascinating history and culture is what made this touring experience unique. I left Gaborone with the experience of a lifetime, and I could not be happier that I made the trip!
Andy and Otto are very friendly, knowledgeable and keen to show people their wonderful country's history and culture, showing that there is more to Botswana than just Okavango and Chobe and all tours focus on responsible tourism and getting an insight into, and benefiting, local communities. As a history and culture nerd I was keen to see Botswana, having once promised a student I would visit when I taught them back in the UK over 15 years ago! Before arrival, Otto was in almost constant communication via email to ensure I had the tour I wanted - I was able, through her suggestions, to create a two-day tour that covered a huge amount of southern Botswana in a short period of time - a great overview of history and culture both old and new - it will certainly make my History teaching even better! Andy led the tour itself and a nicer and more informative guide you could not wish to meet. With such a range of tours available, you are sure to find something that is perfect for you. Highlights were many - I cannot recommend this highly enough.
