Hotel Schlosskrone

This hotel is excellent. The location is perfect. Everything within easy walking distance. The room was great. Staff were friendly. We ate twice at their restaurants and the food was amazing. Highly recommend.

We had a great one night stay after a hiking trip. The upgrade was very welcome with large comfortable bed and nice bathroom. We enjoyed exploring the old town which was closed by. The breakfast choices were extensive and the staff helpful.

Hotel itself was okay and the room was fine, but the staff seemed inexperienced. Our reservation was recorded incorrectly — no breakfast even though it was booked, and only one night instead of two. These were fixed, but the room keys were still programmed for just one night, so we couldn’t get in to our room when returning in the evening. Luckily it wasn’t after 22:00 when staff leaves. Also good to know: they block a deposit (total amount) before your stay and then charge your card at checkout. The original deposit is released later on, but for a while you’ve effectively paid double. On top of that, we were charged an extra 12€ (tax) on top of the Booking.com "total price". Response to Hoteldirektor: Thanks for getting back to me. Our stay was really nice overall, just these small things kept it at four stars instead of five. Maybe next time will change that. Comfortable beds in large rooms. No facecloths or bathrobes kinda surprised me. Gym is good for two guests, tops. Really nice sauna spa area, the herbal sauna was a new and wonderful experience.
