Fantastic experience! We saw a pod of dolphins and a pod of pilot whales. We didn't have time to snorkel because it took a while to reach the whales further out in the deep, but that's just a matter of luck. We went with our two-year-old daughter, and the crew was absolutely amazing with her

We had a great time on the boat trip despite not seeing any dolphins or whales. The team was very attentive and polite and they had great knowledge on Madeira. The boat itself was a great size for the 10 of us, it didnt feel squashed and there was plenty of room at the front to watch the sea. We did see some flying fish which was pretty cool! And we swam in the sea with snorkels. Would definitely use On Tales again to hopefully see some dolphins and wales next time!
We’ve been to Madeira 4 times, and this was truly one of our favorite experiences. What a beautiful way to view the island from another angle, and at the same time see some wildlife. From start to finish we are so happy with this experience, everyone on the team were so kind and helpful. Everything was thoroughly explained and the boat was beautiful. Great trip but unfortunately so sighting of any dolphins or whales but the trip was lovely all the same and the captain and his crew were lovely.
Amazing experience. The organization is really on point. The boat is very clean and secure. They really think of everything: clean towels for after swimming, cool drinks and photos the day after. We got some really cute couple photos thanks to them! We are so glad we booked with On Tales and would 100% recommend. The sightings are not guaranteed, but we did see pilot whales and rough-toothed dolphins!

We went out on a boat trip today to see dolphins and whales with the skipper, Manny, who was simply wonderful. He explained everything to us and was very friendly and professional. We were provided with drinks, towels, and snorkels. Highly recommended
This was our third trip with the team, and once again, everything was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we stepped on board, we felt completely welcome and well looked after. Drinks and towels were provided, the service was wonderful, and the whole crew made the experience relaxed and special from beginning to end. And this time, we were incredibly lucky: the dolphins didn’t just swim alongside us – they actually jumped out of the water! 🐬 Seeing them leap through the air was absolutely magical and something we will never forget. As if that wasn’t enough, we even spotted flying fish gliding above the water. After three trips, we can honestly say that we would choose this experience again and again. An amazing experience... well worth doing. We had a small friendly group of 12 and both the captain and guide Martin were lovely and knowledgable. Extra touchs such as cold drinks, photos, towels for swimming and a cabin to change in really made the difference. We were lucky enough to see whales and to be surrounded by playful dolphins. Really excellent morning.
This dolphin‑watching cruise exceeded my expectations. The small group size made the experience peaceful and enjoyable, without the usual crowded feeling. Lovely excursion! We saw a rare whale that hung out with us for 10 minutes. The staff was very knowledgeable about marine life, able to address all kinds of questions about the whale. We also spotted a sea turtle and a flying fish! The boat is incredibly nice, with a bathroom onsite, and spacious living room downstairs. It was easy to find the meeting point and parking was just 1 euro an hour.
We had a wonderful time! We got lucky and saw a pod of dolphins playing right alongside the boat, leaping through the waves — such a fun, peaceful experience. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Crew was amazing and super professional, we got to see two whales very close. The boat (Gringo) was in very good condition, and comfortable.
We had a lovely chill time. The crew members and staff were super helpful at all times and always kept us informed and aware of anything needed. Perfect time spent on the boat not too long and plenty of space. Served snacks and drinks always made sure we was seen to. We got to see a whale from distance and a seal after we stopped for a dip in the water. Beautiful scenery. Not alwyas guaranteed to see the sea life but is a nice few chilled hours something different to do. Thanks so much enjoyed our time :)

This was such an incredible experience! On our trip we saw 2 pods of dolphins and 2 whales, and also went for a swim in front of beautiful waterfalls. Bea and Manny were great and very welcoming. Manny took lots of photos which were emailed to us after, and we also received an email with more information about the dolphins and whales we spotted. The boat was very spacious and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone.

We had neither dolphins or whales but incredible hosts and a lovely morning on the water. These are always the luck of the draw. If nothing else a fabulous biat ride. We did see sea turtles!

Went on this trip with my family of 5. Very easy to find and access the boat. Captain and crew were very professional. Beautiful ride on water. We saw dolphins, whales and flying fish. Stopped to snorkel— not really a good spot to see fish or coral but water was crystal clear. After trip we received photos of sights and family.

This boat felt more adventurous compared to other whale watching experiences as its such a small boat that (comfortably) sits 12 people. You’re much closer to the water compared to bigger boats and can hold on to bars on the boat for stability. We saw many dolphins and Bryde whales and had a lovely swim. The guides were great. Would def go again!
What a fantastic experience! We were lucky enough to see several different species during our excursion, including bottlenose dolphins, very active spotted dolphins, and even a Bryde’s whale. The captain and guide were excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the wildlife. They took the time to explain the animals we were seeing and share interesting facts about their behaviors, which made the experience much more meaningful. The scenery along Madeira’s coastline was beautiful, and seeing dolphins swimming and jumping around the boat was a highlight of my trip. We also had the opportunity to swim or snorkel near the end of the cruise in the shadow of an extinct volcano, which was a unique experience. I would highly recommend On Tales to anyone visiting Madeira. The crew clearly cares about both the animals and their guests, and this was one of the most memorable experiences of my visit.
This was an amazing experience. Starting at the port watching crabs and even Seeing a stingray was fun. The boat wasn't crowded at all which made visibility amazing. Very knowledgeable crew who respected wildlife. The crew provided drinks, towels and took great photos that they shared. Seeing a brydes whale so close was something oir family will never forget - it made our holiday. Jumping in the sea for a swim was also a highlight.
Great experience lovely boat with just 8 people. Serge was a great captain and we saw the dolphins playing without them being stressed. Great to see the coastline from the boat and we had a swim in the ocean. Trip was informative and Serge and Manny were great at answering all our questions patiently. Highly recommend

We had a wonderful time. We saw two big fin whales and later on we were accompanied bij a group of about 80 dolphins. The crew was very friendly and relaxed and they made sure we had a great experience. I liked that they don't put as many people on a boat as possible. It was very comfortable like this. We got all the foto's and a small report of all the animals that we spotted by mail later the same day. Quite the service :) I would highly recommend On Tale.

A fabulous experience! We were welcomed and everything was explained to us by Rosa, who was absolutely lovely. The experience was amazing — we saw lots of dolphins and even a turtle! Julia spent the trip telling us interesting facts about Madeira, as well as curiosities about the dolphins and marine wildlife. We loved it!! They take photos during the excursion, and when it finishes they send them to you the very same day. Luckily we had their photos, because they captured the dolphins perfectly! An afternoon with crew Julia and Luka was amazing! Loved their respectful attitude to nature, wild animals and island. Lots of interesting information reveived, many stunning views seen. Great people and cosy atmosphere. Even jumped for a short swim. The boat was comfortable - all you need is prepared (towels, blankets, drinks). The crew even managed to take photos during the trip with their camera. All the best recomendations from the forst call to operator to the very end when got back to the port! Thank you!
An amazing experience from start beyond finish. A very knowledgeable and friendly staff, we felt very welcome on board of the Gringo. We were lucky enough to have the company of eight dolphins. It was definitely one of the highlights of our first trip to Madeira.
We had the most incredible trip with Luca & Manny onboard! Luca was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife of Madeira & Manny was a fantastic supporting host & camera man! We were lucky enough to follow a group of Fin Whales and we saw several blows. We also saw a dolphin, seal & jellyfish. We also stopped for a swim which was delightful. The boat was perfect for the small group of passengers and it was a very intimate trip. We thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend!! Thank you :)
