It was my husband’s 65th birthday on that day. It was very enjoyable day. The guide driver was very friendly and helpful. My husband was surprised when she wished him a birthday greeting. (I was very pleased that she remembered as I mentioned about his special birthday when I booked in May!) The initerary on Viator was all correct but only one place (Seixal) where we were unable to visit because of road heading this place was closed due to rocks falling. It is highly recommend for anyone to have this experience.,

Suzanna was an excellent guide and truly knowledgeable about the island’s history. She took her time walking through the details and stories, which made everything much more interesting. I was jet-lagged and she was patient and accommodating the whole way through. Highly recommend.
Suzanna was an amazing guide, with great knowledge and extremely accommodating. We didn’t feel rushed at any point, which is a refreshing change.
This was our favorite day tour that we took in Madeira. ( The other tours we took were to the East, West, and Nun Valley.) it wasn’t our favorite tour just based on being able to have lots of wine. Susanna, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable. She explained the history of the island, the history of the different produce grown on the island, and the history of wine on the island. Each stop was beautiful. Taking a cable car down to see a farm right on the water was fun. We got to walk to the water and the beach so we could experience first half of the stones. The winery was beautiful and educational. The wine was delicious, as was the lunch. At the last stop, we tried some of the classical Madeira Wine, before getting to try some of the 10 and 15 year Madeira Wine. The day flew by.
Susan is a wonderful driver and tour guide. She went out of her way to make every aspect of our tour personalized to us. The tour of Quinta do Barbusano Winery was absolutely a must do with a very educational tour of the vineyard, wine tasting, and delicious traditional espetada lunch. We even went to the kitchen to watch our meal preparation and took a photo with the owner and chef, Antonio.
Group of 8 had car to ourselves. Relaxed itinerary. Delightful driver who was very chatty and full of information about the island. We had a very good guide at the vineyard.
We booked a private tour with Susana and had the most amazing day! We went to a gorgeous winery and enjoyed their wine and the most delicious traditional meal we had our whole trip! Susana asked about our trip and then customized our tour to ensure we saw the island as we wanted. She didnt make us feel rushed in any location and explained a lot of the history and culture of the island. Definitely recommend a tour with her and her company!
My cousin and I really enjoyed our visit to a winery in Madeira. We first visited a church with beautiful views in Camara De Lobos. Then off to experience the steepest gondola ride to the shoreline where we were able to walk amount the shoreline and see how Maderian people grew various fruits and vegetables. We visited a lovely winery and toured the winery site with a specialist, tasted 7 varietlals and had a delicious lunch of espetada, salad, potatoes and passion fruit mouse for dessert. After that we stopped at Henrique's & Henrique's for some fortified Maderian wine tasting! Great guide full of history and knowledge of Maderia. Highly recommmend the tour!!
This is a wonderful trip. Susana is an excellent and entertaining guide, conveying useful information about the country, its history and politics, as well as about wine production. The wines and barbecue lunch were all first rate. Highly recommended.
While our tour on 9/5 itself (wineries, lunch) were spectacular, the driver/tour guide was not. I don’t know his name because I don’t even think he introduced himself, but he spoke very broken and mumbled English to the point no one on the tour could understand him. He also didn’t give the kind of history and background we expected, it would be like “and look out the window, there are vines” and that’s it. There was also not clear communication at our first stop with the cable car, he just said come back in an hour. We didn’t know if we were meeting someone at the bottom or what to do so we just roamed around and kept track of time, it was odd. Lunch & tour/views at Quinta do Barbusano were incredible!
We were spoiled being Suzanna’s only guests! She is an absolute delight! She is full of knowledge- gave us a wonderful tour. The Vineyard - wow - the scenery- it’s honestly so beautiful its looks like a fairy 🧚 tale! We were blessed to have Suzanna - and this tour was one of the best we have ever done !
We had an amazing day with Susan! She is a wonderful person and we learned so many interesting details about the island, the culture and History. Wine tasting place had fantastic view, great wine and delicious food. Highly recommended!
Fantastic trip with visits to vineyards. Extensive wine tasting with excellent local lunch. Our driver and guide Suzzanna was excellent with great knowledge. Highly recommend.
Nice trip. Very friendly guide. Very good lunch and several tastings. A good way to see the island, learn something about wine and see the vineyards.
Excellent wine tasting in beautiful setting plus delicious lunch. Our guide was very friendly but couldn’t stop talking - mostly about herself!
We had a great time. We would definitely recommend the full day as even that went quick. We were lucky to have Susannah all to ourselves! Thanks for a wonderful time. Make sure you try Scotland Susannah! The vineyards were amazing to walk through. The history of the island and wine was interesting. It was also funny to see which type of wine you are, sweet or dry?..Cheers
Amazing full day experience which covered a fabulous Vineyard in the mountains, superb lunch and finished off with a trip to a Madeiran Distilled Wine Distillery. Our host Suzanna was absolutely brilliant, covering many stories about the Islands history and culture. The trip also incorporated Faja dos Padres Cable Car (not for the faint hearted) which took us to another vineyard, which also includes a Banana tree plantation. Cannot recommend this excursion highly enough enough and don’t forget to ask for Suzanna!
We had a small group - just 4 of us. Guide Susanna was very friendly and enthusiastic. Trip was very good - particularly the lunch and wine tasting at the beautiful vineyard. Cable car trip at Faja dos Padres was fun, although only limited link to the wine theme. Good balance between information and tasting!
An enjoyable experience for those who enjoy tasting and drinking wine and learning about its production. We traveled in comfort to a variety of places where we had time to appreciate different aspects of the island. Our driver, Manuel was very friendly and informative, pointing out various things to us as we travelled, and always allowing us plenty of time so we never felt hassled or rushed. The vineyard visit was well organised and set in a beautiful location which we would certainly not have found ourselves. Luciano, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic to share his knowledge about all aspects of the vineyard and the wines. We tasted 6 wines with generous measures and could enjoy more of all of them as we wished with our meal. Staff were all friendly and attentive, a super visit. On our way back we rounded off with a visit to Henriques & Henriques for a tasting of Madeiran fortified wines, a perfect finale to the day.
Our guide and driver for the day was Susana and she was fantastic - very friendly, chatty and informative (and excellent English). She took us to lots of interesting places in the morning and told us all about wine making in Madeira. She then took us to Barbusano vineyard for wine tasting and lunch - we got to sample 6 wines and then have as much as we wanted with the food (which was delicious). Susana then took us to Henriques & Henriques for Madeira tasting (5 glasses) before dropping us back for a well-needed snooze! I would definitely recommend this trip.
This was a small group tour but actually there were just me and my husband with our guide, Suzanna. What a brilliant day. Suzanna shared a wealth of island history and knowledge of the areas. We visited less touristy places including Faja dos Padres and a breathtaking cable car ride to the beach area here. It is a short walk through a banana plantation to a cafe/bar to enjoy a drink by the sea. We also had the chance to visit Seixal before arriving at the vineyard. The tour was informative and interesting and we sampled three white, one rose and two red wines, selecting our favourite to enjoy with our lunch. The tastings were paired with cheese, cured meats and crostados. Lunch was beef espanadas cooked to our preference served with potatoes, salad and garlic bread. Hearty portions to say the least. This was finished with a homemade passionfruit dessert, served with Madeira wine and finally espresso. It was a leisurely lunch, not at all rushed. Then our final stop was to sample Madeira wine (4 from dry to sweet). A full day providing excellent value for money with an experienced guide who was happy to share her knowledge with us. Thank you, Suzanna!
The tour we had was really exceptional. Our guide did a great Job in explaining a lot about the local history of wine, fruit and rum production and trade. The visit of different view points and the vinery was very interesting and beautiful. The wine tastings at the vinery abd Madeira wine production where very tasty and fun. We had booked the half day tour first where there where some inconveniences due to timing. But we got compensated with a discounted full day Tour which was really fair and uncomplicated in organizing. The service was really quick to respond to our complaint and did a great job in organizing the alternative tour for us which more than made up for the problems with our first booking. We totally recommend booking the vineyard tour here.
A truly amazing tour of Madeira, with a gondola, viewpoints and vineyards, made extra fun by the guide Susanna! Susanna is knowledgeable, outgoing, a good storyteller and very friendly. The guide on the vineyard is excellent and we learned quite a bit about Madeiran wines. The lunch was also authentic and traditional. Highly recommended, 5 stars for Susanna ⭐️
Susanna you amazing person. Thank you so much for a lovely day. Susanna was my tour guide for the day. So friendly and knowledgeable. It ended up being a private tour as 6 people canceled the morning of. I was so lucky!! What a magical well thought out tour. Adventure and site seeing in the morning. Then wineries, lunch and tastings in the afternoon. I can not recommend this tour enough. I had so many wow moments in the morning. The nature and scenery was something I have not experienced before. Just beautiful! The winery was stunning. The tastings were a great size, 5 tastings before lunch. The lunch was very tasty and there was plenty of food. You get to drink more wine with lunch and they even offer you more food if you’re still hungry. Yes this tour is expensive but you get to see so much in the morning and then try so much wine and good food in the afternoon. I highly recommend this tour. Lovely day out!
Great narration; wonderful wines and scenery. Tour guide Suzanna was exceptional. Wineries were fabulous and food great. Also loved the cable car.
We had a great day with Manuel. From the minute we were collected from our hotel to the minute we were dropped off, we were really well looked after. We loved the cable car and the hidden gem of a lovely beach, great wine tasting, fabulous food and wonderful weather, what more could you want!!
Manola was an excellent guide, excellent driver and wonderful person to spend the day with, highly recommend.
My parents, brother, and me were traveling together in Madeira and were looking for a winery day trip. This experience far exceeded expectations. We were picked up by our guide, Susana, in a private, air conditioned van right on time from our apartment rental. Susana shared so much knowledge with us and you could tell that she really cared about her job. She brought us to multiple spots for beautiful views of the island and when there was a slight delay getting the cable car to Faja dos Padres, she called the winery to move our reservation back 30 minutes so we wouldn't be rushed. We then had an incredible experience at Quinta do Barbusano where we had a tour of the facilities by Gina then an outstanding lunch and wine tasting. The owner Antonio, Gina, and the rest of the staff were so passionate about their work and they made sure that we enjoyed our stay. The food and wine portions were huge and the views were spectacular. Overall, this tour was a highlight of our trip and a great value for the money. Susana truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a great day. Don't hesitate -- book this tour while in Madeira!
We had a great day out on this small group wine tour of Madeira. Our driver and tour guide, Susana, was very knowledgeable and full of amusing anecdotes and funny stories. We stopped at some stunning places with some of the most incredible views we had seen across our entire time on Madeira. We thoroughly enjoyed the local table wine during our vineyard visit, as well as the delicious meal which was cooked by António, the winery owner himself. The meal was very generous with offers of second and thirds servings and wine re-fills! We finished with a Madeira tasting at the well-known Henriques & Henriques cellar. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Madeira.
Great tour of parts of Madeira. Susana, the tour guide and driver was amazing! The vineyard visit with lunch is not to be missed. The view was spectacular and the cooked meat was non stop. A must to a visit to Madeira.
Had a wonderful time on this Vineyard Tour. The Vineyard we went to was beautiful and the set up for the tasting was very nice along with the meal. Saw beautiful sites along the way as well. Also thoroughly enjoyed the Madeira wine. Definitely recommend this tour!
The view from the cable car was wonderful. The tour not just wine tasting, also came with a bit sightseeing which was bonus. Susana was great, everything was fine, would recommend this tour!
Had a great day with Suzanne visiting the island and drinking wine. The lunch was exceptional. So glad Faja dos Padres was part of the itinerary. A piece of paradise. Thank you to António and the team at Quinto do Barbusano. The wine was amazing.
The whole day was perfect. No rush, time to experience each stop. The cable lift to the beautiful beach and garden was breathtaking. One of the most memorable days in my life.

What a great day we had! Extra fun and interesting things seen and done during this private tour for us! Suzanna is such a great guide, she knows so much to tell you about the island! We were pleasantly surprised by this day and what we all saw and did. The snacks, wine and lunch were perfectly catered for. Lots of tips, very interesting 👌😃 A very big recommendation, this tour.
