An absolutely magical hike with a beautiful waterfall at the end, like the cherry on top. The transfer was organised perfectly and the communication of Levadas In and Out was very clear and complete. Fabio was our guide for 3 transfer trips with Levadas In and Out and was fantastic. Communication via WhatsApp the night before included all the details needed for the next day. Pick up was bang on time. Fabio’s information about the trails before setting off was great and he was right on time to pick us up again after. He shared lots of helpful information about other sites we were visiting later in our trip too when asked. Would recommend the company to anyone who wants to avoid the hassle of car hire and finding parking for popular trails - especially if you get Fabio!

This was one my most favorite Madeira experiences - a beautiful hike through a green emerald canopy, lots of water (l’évadas) and some adventurous tunnels ✨ Particularly loved the arrangement, Fabio was an excellent driver and a guide and made sure we got all the information, well before time. He made the hike super easy to follow and made sure our group was well taken care of at all times 🙏 thank you Fabio!

We had Flávio who was a really relaxed and fun driver! My parents and I really enjoyed this hike. Simply stunning and feasible hike. We struggled a bit with the pick up time though. Probably was a combination of taking pics and waiting for others to pass you as some parts were narrow. Other than that - Any time with this provider. 😊

Our experience with Levadas In and Out was impeccable due to Flávio, our driver. He gave us all the information we needed in advance, arrived early and gave us plenty of time to enjoy the walk. Flávio shared so much interesting information to and from the walk, we learned so much of the history and walks in Madeira (plus some great poncha recommendations). The walk itself was both beautiful and exciting--a highlight of our trip. Can't recommend the walk and Levadas In and Out enough!

An amazing hike,views and experience! Despiste of the rain It was beatiful too.And this is Madeira,so the weather changes all the time,so we had rain, a little bit of cold,windy,fog,sun....That's what makes the places so special. This hike is "a must". André made our journey fun and told us a lot of facts of Madeira and the language.He was very nice and made it easy to feel confortable.

This is a really beautiful place, quite simple and easy hike - other than you need a torch (phone is good enough, head torch better) make sure shoes waterproof, stunning views. Vitor was our guide and he was extremely attentive, polite and kept checking in with every body, making sure he explained the journey properly to us and exact drop off and collection points (you can't really get lost anyway). Great company I would recommend - 5 stars!

The Levada do Caldeirão Verde was such a special experience. The scenery is incredible, with ferns, dripping moss, waterfalls, and mountain views. It felt like being on the set of Avatar, and being self-guided meant we could take it all in at our own pace. The walk itself was fairly flat and easy, and the timing was perfect. We had plenty of time to complete the roundtrip and enjoy the gorgeous waterfall at the end. Vitor was a fantastic guide and driver. He was super friendly, helpful, and a great communicator, and gave us lots of great recommendations for Madeira. He dropped us off at the start and gave us all the important information we needed about the levada, including trail markers and signs to look out for. When we finished earlier than expected, he was able to come back and pick us up ahead of schedule. I’d absolutely recommend this company and this levada. It's 100% an experience to remember while visiting Maderia!

Our driver Vtor was great. He gave us very detailed instructions, tips and suggestions. He was very friendly and patient as we had so many questions about Madeira. The hike itself was nice. We are fit and it took us about 2 hours to get to the end because the trail was busy and you need to stop very often to allow people from the opposite direction to pass through. The way back was shorter, about 1.5 hrs as it was not busy.

Great driver good tour everything good

Very streamlined tour for anyone who wants to do a self guided levada walk. Pick up instructions and instructions on how to prepare for the levada hike were very clear and comprehensive. For example, was advised to bring a flashlight and that was much needed for the dark tunnels along the PR9 trail. The tour guide/driver arrived and picked us up on time, and was very helpful in letting us know how we should manage our time.

Great hike, a nice route up to the waterfall. A little busy/narrow towards the top but worth the hike.

Fantastic walk. Pick up information and communication was excellent. If we had one issue it was that the time aloud was tight. We are not slow walkers , but found that time was tight and made it back just in time for the pickup. possibly due to having to wait behind others on the trail, and may not be an issue when the trail is less busy

Great trip to PR9. The trek is stunning and although long not too challenging. Our driver Andre was very friendly and knowledgeable about the island and was flexible with timings which really helped. Highly recommend.

While the hike is beautiful, 5 hours was really not enough time to enjoy the views and have a decent rest at the halfway mark (the waterfall). I came away very sore due to my having to rush back to make it in time. The guide had not explained that the second half of the track was closed and we would be returning on the same path, leaving me unsure and worried that I was doing the wrong thing. I wasn't able to confirm this with him as I had no internet. Also, starting the walk with a headache, due to car sickness was not ideal.

The hike at Caldeirao was closed but the tour operator provided Levada do Rei as alternative. I enjoyed the Levada do Rei hike. Mainly on flat ground, along a stream leading to a magnificent waterfall at the end (be warned it was wet). The ground was muddy but still worth the experience! Our driver Fabio was nice, laid back and eager to help, also negotiated the narrow, steep streets of Funchal expertly. I would recommend this hike.

Very good walk, the start was a bit bland, but after initial walk down tarmac path it got better and better The walk was changed as initial Levada was closed but well informed Andre picked us up from hotel and dropped us off and picked us up, was very good

We done PR6.2 & PR6.3 instead as this one was closed. Really enjoyed the trails, even in the rain! Our driver Vitor was very helpful and made sure we had all the information about the trail before starting.

Our driver (Vitor) was fantastic & kept us posted at all times :) The hike was beautiful & tranquil & the waterfalls were incredible! Most of the hike was on flat ground which was nice & the views were insane! 100% recommend this hike!

We booked with this company. Communication was very good. Driver was on time. Walk was great. The only thing I would say is that this walk is not guided. They give you some information but they don’t walk with you. So ultimately you are paying for a taxi service. I’m not saying it’s not worth it - because it is very busy there. But it’s not guided. If I did it again, I would drive there myself - we had a hire car. If you don’t have a hire car - this is 100% worth booking. The walk. This itself is definitely worth doing. ALOT of steps!!!!!! Massive elevation change. BUT - it is 100% worth doing. You will experience something unique and also you will burn some calories and feel better for it!!!! 100% Worth the effort and money ………

The Levada was closed was closed the day of my booking, but the company reached out and set me up with a different Levada walk. The transportation was clean and on time. The driver was friendly, walked us to the start of the hike, and was waiting for us when we finished. The pick up and drop off at my hotel made the whole experience easy and enjoyable!

We had originally booked PR9 but it was closed on the day. We were offered alternatives and chose the Vereda do Larano which was amazing! Thank you for making this day so special!

The driver was great, car transfer straight forward & communication v good. Driver informed us tunnels were dark & to mind your head. That the walk would be wet & muddy, which it was! The only things that would have been helpful in communication before we left the hotel, would be that you needed 50 cents for the toilet & other than at the beginning of the walk there was no other option to go to the toilet …Additionally mentioning a head torch for the tunnels would have been helpful.

Superb way to do this hike. Takes all the hassle out of getting there and back. The hikes itself isn’t very difficult, mainly flat, only rising approx 40m throughout the entirety. Fabio provides you with all the information you need and also picks up again at the arranged time to return, he’s not at all bothered about muddy clothing in his car on the journey back either!!

The shuttle picked us up near our hotel in Funchal and made travelling to the beginning of the route a painless experience compared with navigating the public transport system. Fabio was a very friendly driver, informative and helpful and made the journey there and back a pleasure as well as leaving us plenty of time to complete the route before pick up. The hike itself was very dramatic, lots of variation, big waterfalls, scrambling through tunnels, steep drops, amazing vistas, lush woodland. Not too strenuous, although was a little crowded and made the narrow levada trail an interesting experience when people were coming back the other way. Great day out and can see why it is one of the more popular routes.

The most impressive hike I've ever done so far. Came to do it solo but befriended some other hikers in the same car. Views are amazing and even though there's no incline the caves and waterfalls made the experience really fun. Our driver Fábio was super nice and chill. He gave us very clear instructions for the hike and made sure we could reach him via text during the hike. Will definitely be back for more! 😁

Our driver, Fábio, provided an exceptional level of communication. With regular updates via WhatsApp about pickup times and vehicle details. He arrived on time, was very friendly, and provided a wealth of knowledge regarding our intended walk. He kept in touch throughout the day to check on how we were progressing and turned up exactly on time at the end of the walk pickup location.
