He was very knowledgeable about all things we asked in relation to Madeira..he is a superb safe driver and we could not fault him or the serice. Fabio was amazing he communicated with me the exact time and vehicle he was using he arrived very punctually unlike other tours from other companies we used this same week. Fabio was very bright and knowledgeable on Madeira as he was born here and he was an excellent driver . We had the best experience on PR18 plenty of time 4 hours to get out and back we even manage a pint and a cheesecake at the cafe at the end of our trail. I would recommend Levadas in and out for super communication and very calm knowledgeable driver with expert driving skills up mountains,tunnels and small narrower areas of Madeira we felt safe and comfortable in Dacia Jogger Thank you!!!

Great communication from our driver Flávio. He told us many interesting things about the island and overall the transfer worked well. The only thing we wished we’d been told in advance was that we were sharing the car with people doing the PR9 which starts in a different place and takes a lot longer. We’d expected to be back at our hotel around 5pm but the extra drop off and pickup time as well as their walk being 1 hr longer meant we were back 2 hrs later than expected and missed our dinner reservation time. There was an additional short delay because of traffic issues that was unavoidable. Would recommend the company but definitely check about sharers

We did just over 8 miles but most of it was in wooded areas with no views and you had to be very careful to watch your step. As we went under a waterfall, make sure that you bring the appropriate gear. Sofia drove us to the Levada and brought us back to our hotel and was very sociable. The hike is very well marked. It was very popular, with many hikers on the trail.

Flávio had amazing communication and made sure we all knew where to meet up and sent over all the details in advance! He was so knowledgeable about the island and told us so many facts which were incredible to hear!! Would definitely book again when I’m next in Madeira!

I have given this review a five star rating. Although our trip wasn’t without its issues, none of it was the fault of Sophia our guide. There was a rally in Madeira on the day we went on this trip which significantly affected our pick up which meant we spent a lot of time waiting around. However, Sophia kept us up-to-date with her progress at all times, in fact, her communication before the trip and during it was excellent and appreciated. She was helpful and friendly. The walk itself was wonderful and the biggest highlight was walking through the waterfall. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lavarda in and out.

Great walk along the Levada mostly through overhanging canopy and along steep overgrown rockface. Gentle, with some uneven ground. Self guided - Vvry simple route. Driver- Andre - was very friendly and helpful and told us a bit about life in Madiera as we travelled the 1 hour from Funchal to the start point.

Our driver Fábio was highly professional and very friendly which made the experience overall great. I would highly recommend Fábio and Levadas In and Out Team for their service. They made pickup and drop off easy and they were easy to reach via message. The hike itself was a very good experience, it was a beautiful walk. I would imagine it would be fine for anyone to achieve.

Fabio was an excellent guide to the levada walk. The hike was a good introduction to the levadas and fairly easy to negotiate. Wonder recommend waterproofs as we got soaked!

Our guide Fabio was friendly and nice, and on time for both pick up and return and a very good driver. The transfer made going to the hike a lot more convenient as you can just focus on the hike and nature. The hike itself was amazing, so many beautiful waterfalls and lush and greenery. I highly recommend both the hike and this transfer.

We had the pleasure of having Flávio as our driver to PR18 and he was absolutely brilliant! Communication from the beginning was excellent with information and times being sent the day before right up to the pick up time for outside our hotel. The transfer was smooth and Flávio was friendly and full of information about the island and the walk itself. We felt extremely well looked after as he offered phone support if we needed it and gave us enough time to grab something to eat at the end in the little cafe at the end The walk itself is beautiful and not too busy. Some amazing views and a lovely waterfall to sit at the turnaround. Don’t forget to bring your waterproof as you pass through a small waterfall on the actual trail itself. We highly recommend this trip. We were a family of 4 with two older teenage boys.

Excellent hike. There is a small section where it is necessary to go under a small waterfall so make sure you have an umbrella or waterproof jacket.

The company did not respond to my messages either on WhatsApp or Viator. I messaged the day before asking for pickup time and location and was sent a generic message at 9pm the night before, with pickup less than 12 hours later. The driver was on time and friendly.

Excellent booking and communication with Fabio our transfer person. I went with one of my grown up daughters to this beautiful Levada. An easy walk there and back. Fabio contacted me directly after booking and sent some very helpful information. He arranged to pick us up close to our air BnB the next morning. Transport was very good and smooth with a small group. Fabio gave us great info on the drive and offered phone support if needed. He also contacted us before the end of the allotted time (4 hours for this hike) and picked us up and dropped us off promptly. Would highly recommend Fabio and Levadas Out and Back.

Me and my wife are used to doing much longer/ more difficult hikes but opted for this one due to her being pregnant. Walk is very clearly sign posted and pretty flat throughout. Pack for all weather's as we had all seasons in one day! Our driver was very prompt with collections and great communication throughout

I was happy to find this drop-off/ pickup service to hiking trails. It was very easy to book and after the booking I received detailed information/ instructions about the specific trail, e.g. what to expect on the trail and how to pay the entry fee. Our driver was Fabio and he kept me informed about the precise pickup time from my accommodation. On the way Fabio further briefed us about the trail, weather and reminded that he was just a phone call away should we encounter any problems during the walk. He returned to pick us up exactly at the time he said he would. Furthermore, Fabio's driving was faultless:) I highly recommend this service to anyone who is looking for transport to and from hiking trails.

I booked the tour last minute and everything worked perfectly. On-time pick-up, safe transfer, and Fábio provided lots of helpful information and great recommendations. The whole group finished the tour earlier than expected (less than 3.5 h), and after asking for an earlier return, the pick-up was arranged within minutes. Great driver- friendly, communicative. The Viator description says 4 hours which does not factor in transportation to and from. All in it was closer to 7 hours which is quite misleading. Pickup also said 10:45. Pickup ended up being 10:15 which is a significant difference.

Amazing first hike in Madeira, breathtaking views. The transfer was smooth and very good and safe driving there and back from a pick up in Funchal. We got there before there were crowds it was great. Slight delay in the beginning due to traffic, but everything else was fine. It takes app. 1h15 to get to the starting point of the hike and then you have 4h-4h 30m time to do the trail- which ist plenty of time. I walked in a rather easy going pace and still had almost an hour left before pickup. The hike itself is easy, some muddy parts and a little shower when you need to cross behind a little waterfall :) nice introduction into levada walks on the island! PS it was definetely colder on the walk compared to Funchal, eg 15/16C vs 20/21C

I had a great experience with the transfer to do the PR18 hike. Fabio, our driver was very nice and made the atmosphere on our drive very pleasant. He was also very knowledgeable about the hike we were going to do, and gave us a lot of tips. He also answered all our questions in general about Madeira and any recommendations. The hike itself was quite nice and easy, I would recommend it if you are new to the island or you had done a more intense hike the previous day and want to take it easy. The trail was quite muddy and you will have to walk under one waterfall so I recommend taking a raincoat or poncho. Overall, I had a good time and definitely recommend taking the hike transfer from this company!

The most beautiful levada I've done, really recommend it. Levadas in and out made the whole experience very enjoyable and I'm so happy I did it.

I did the hike PR18 Levada do Rei. The pick-up was at around 10 so no stress in the morning. The guide Fábio was very service-minded and helpful and the car was modern and clean. I would recommend to use the service of this company. The trip was good with good dramatic views and a nice waterfall at the end. It can be a bit muddy so use shoes you dont mind getting dirty. In the beginning/end there is a Café where you can get some refreshments or use the lavarory (1€ fee).

I am traveling alone as a young woman and felt more than comfortable with this transfer. Our driver Fábio was very nice and courteous; he explained the route well to us and offered his help in case anything should come up. He also gave me good tips for the rest of my trip. Immediately afterward, I booked another transfer with Lavadas In and Out. That should answer everything :-)

It was great. You are picked up directly or very close to the hotel and then brought to the agreed-upon trail. It may be that on the way there, a brief stop is made at another trail to let a few people off. However, that did not take much time. The pickup time is, of course, not the specified trail time from the booking, but is calculated individually by the hotel, for me 8:30. Some parking lots are terribly congested, so it really makes for relaxed travel. You are taken directly to the trail, receive a short briefing, and are then allowed to start. If you have any questions, you can get in touch at any time, and otherwise, you get a veeeery relaxed pickup time.

The place is very pretty but the service is just a round-trip taxi, zero explanations about the surroundings or the levada from the taxi driver. I was shocked that the car was so small, 7 people in a Citroen C4. It is not very comfortable

The PR18 was magnificent!! I loved this walk in nature. Plus, Flavio was super friendly. He took care to explain everything we needed to make this hike even more incredible. I highly recommend.

I booked this activity through Viator and my experience was quite disappointing. The initially marked activity was changed by the company to another route. Although the change was communicated to me, I was never clearly explained that I would complete the walk completely alone, without a guide, without a group and without any accompaniment. Before the activity I even expressed concern about the absence of a guide and sought clarifications. At no time was I told that I would simply be left at the beginning of the journey to carry it out by myself. The situation caused anxiety and a feeling of insecurity, especially because I found myself alone on a journey I did not know, compromising my safety. Regardless of the nature of the service sold, I believe that the communication and management of customer expectations have been far behind what would be expected. I would never hire this service again.

Everything was great; the driver Fabio is very nice and helpful. Pickup was on time, and the communication beforehand was also excellent. He gave good tips. I would do it again every time!
