Great morning watching pilot whales, dolphins and the crew rescuing an entangled turtle. Short stop for guests to swim, enlivened by fish being fed at same time. Very helpful and informative crew. Weather ideal, calm and sunny. I would be happy to take this trip again.

Itinerary
Enjoy the unique beauty of Madeira’s coastline aboard a comfortable catamaran. As you sail, you’ll have the chance to spot dolphins, whales, and turtles in their natural habitat, gliding through crystal-clear waters. During the summer, take a refreshing swim or explore the underwater world. Admire the stunning scenery of Madeira’s coast and look out for marine life while relaxing on deck with a drink from the onboard bar. Throughout the year, various aquatic mammals travel through these waters, so your chances of seeing these magnificent creatures are high, no matter the season. We are committed to responsible dolphin and whale watching, promoting respect for wildlife, collecting any rubbish found at sea, and minimising the use of single-use plastics wherever possible. To ensure a timely departure, please arrive at our office in Funchal Marina 30 minutes before your scheduled departure, where you can exchange your ticket for a boarding card. Please note that missing the boat will result in forfeiting your right to a refund.

A brilliant trip with friends. We sat on the netting and had a great view. We saw pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins - absolutely incredible! Boat crew all very friendly. Lovely swim stop too. Great value for money.
Felt like the biggest scam of our holiday. Didn’t see a thing, I know that’s expected but felt like because it was a nice calm day, they sailed around for an hour, Stopped off to let people swim then come back in to the port. Paid a lot for nothing. Didn’t hear a word of what was said because we was on the netting and they weren’t very loud.
Really good trip, we were lucky to see sperms whales, lovely swim stop on the way back, crew were very friendly, would highly recommend!
What a great trip! Booked online & didn't have time to go get my swimming stuff so that was the only downside ( that's on me!) Saw Atlantic Spotted Dolphins, staff were great, friendly - Really good value for a 3 hour trip. Thank you!
Great company we had a brilliant trip seeing bottle nose dolphins and Pilot whales.
We had a really nice time on this cruise. We got to see dolphins, some of the Madeira coastline including the famous Cabo Girao cliffs and even a stop for swimming. The crew were great-friendly and helpful and shared their knowledge of dolphins and of Madeira with us. Overall, a lovely afternoon.
Great trip today. We left the dock a bit early and managed to find both dolphins and pilot whales. The staff were very good, in particular explaining in several languages what the habits of each species were and making sure we were pointed in the right direction to view. A very pleasant 3 hour session. Make sure you have a jacket/ top with you as even in sunny weather it’s pretty blowy out at sea.
Such a fabulous boat trip this morning. We saw many dolphins, whales and even a turtle. The crew were excellent, funny and made sure we had a great time. To top it off a refreshing swim off the boat at the base of the cliff, a memorable experience and highly recommend Seaborn if you’re lucky to be in beautiful Funchal !
It was amazing!!! Thanks for this wonderful trip. The crew was also great 🫶
Lovely sunset boat trip. Funny guides with dry humour. Spotters constantly looking for wildlife. Respecful of distance from cetaceans and ethical time limits withon proximty to them. We saw a pod of pilot whales!
Great sailing adventure- beautiful sailboat and incredibly knowledgeable crew. We loved it and HIGHLY recommend.
Great day out very relaxed. We were lucky to see a pod of pilot wales and several sperm wales. We hadn't taken on board that there was a swim stop so didn't have swim wear unfortunately. However the weather had turned cloudy at that point and had cooled off a lot. On the down side, the anouncements were inaudible, they really need a microphone. Overall though I would recommend it.
Not much chit chat by the crew but a lovely boat ride
Varied seeing of creatures, couple of whales in the morning, then at least 3 different pods on the evening sailing. Staff very informative and caring, made a wonderful experience!
Great day spotting whales and dolphins with a peaceful boat journey and swimming stop. Great guides who were very kind, very worth the price.
A pleasant boat trip offshore . The big catamaran had lots of room to spread out , comfy seats inside and out . About four boats were clustered offshore we were in radio contact with them, about 45 mins later it was our turn to view the pod of about a dozen spotted dolphins . They seemed quite curious about us and we had a great view of these wild animals . After we motored back to the shore for anyone who wanted a swim. Then back along the coast to Funchal harbou after about three hours. Quite relaxing and the boat was well run.
This trip on the catamaran was just spectacular, they have a fabulous netted area at the front of the boat providing great views and the opportunity for sun bathing. We were lucky enough to see whales and got the opportunity for a swim with some amazing views. The crew were very friendly and fun! We would highly recommend this trip!
The whole experience was great, we saw two types of whales! The ride was nice and we also swam near the Cabo Girao! We would recommend it!
We took the Sundown trip at 18:00. We really had a good time. The boat even stopped to take in a huge plastic cover swimming in the water to bin it later onshore. The crew was very knowledgeable about the ocean and its inhabitants . We even saw a school of Blainville whales although we didn’t expect to see anything at that time. But after 10 min trailing along with them they aborted it to not stress the animals too much. Liquid catering was good and everyone was in a good mood. We stopped also for a 30 min swim before taking endless photos of the sundown while heading back.
Yes, we saw some whales, but all the people thought that those were dolphins, so if you think you are going to see big whales or even blue whales you are wrong. Also be aware that you might stop and swim, even though it's not listed on website, so you better bring swimming suits if you don't want just sit and cry that you didn't see whales (like i did). To be honest i didn't even know there was guide because he didn't tell us anything and didn't even tell who we saw whales or dolphins. On top of that the whole trip was half an hour less than it was written, so basically it was 2,5 hours not 3. In my opinion it was not worth that money and i was really disappointed
It was a amazing experience! We see the dolphins and they came very close to the boat. Thank you so much for the kind service! The Crew was lovely!!!! Well done!!
We had a fabulous trip with my son, husband and elderly father. He is a little wobbly but the boat crew were very helpful with assisting him on and off the boat. We saw Atlantic dolphins and bottle nose and then pilot whales which was such an added bonus. The crew were very good at spotting where to find the animals and told us what we were seeing. We got close without disturbing them. Highly recommend!
Fun and wild - lovely swim and helpful friendly guided sea bound experience !
We did the morning trip and was very good! It starts between 10-10:30am (if you get there early you will be in the first boat which leaves just after 10). This is great as you don’t need to wake up very early. We saw loads of dolphins - 2 large groups of different types and they were just swimming next to our boat. Best place is to sit on the nets at the front of the boat. Later we also saw a small whale. The captain was great, he came after and explained what we saw. He also gave the small kids bread to feed the fish at the swimming stop. While the boats are not allowed to stay too long near the animals, we had plenty of time near them and they were just next to the boat. All in all, it was a very good trip, the boat is nice and clean (including the toilets) and we had a great time. Price is also very good value (one of the cheapest!).
3hr superb tour, everything was fabulous Opportunity to also swim
Excellent trip. Catarmaran was quite full but enough room for all to feel comfortable. Managed to see lots of dolphins and two or three sightings of whales. Stopped off for a 20min swim in a bay/cove (take mask and snorkel and youll see plenty of see life) Paid alot less than arranged tour from cruise ship and only about a 20min walk from cruise terminal.
Trip started before time (14:40-45) instead of 15 and was even slightly longer than 3 hours. Perfect atmosphere, professional crew. You will be able to see delphines and even more if you have luck. Compostable conditions (not crowdy, spacious ship), you can stay under the roof to avoid sun, you can lie on the special part of deck, you can buy some snacks and drinks.
Fantastic experience. My daughter got to achieve one of her biggest ambitions - to see a dolphin. The whales were amazing too. Definitely recommend.
Great experience, amazing views, a very relaxing evening with 🐋 and 🐬 company. Amazing overall 👏 👌 🙌
It was amazing adventure for whole family. The catamaran ride was very enjoyable. Staff explained all sea life in few languages. We were lucky to see dolphins and whale spray.
Great morning activity - one of our highlights from our trip. We got to see loads of dolphins so close to the boat and a also a whale - a Bryde whale I believe. Nice views along the way and a refeshing swim in the sea. It was great to have the snack bar and toilets available.
Good crew nice catamaran!!! Trip is a bit long, we did see some dolphins but whales not a chance. Swimming area is nice but water is cold and refreshing
Remember to bring/wear your swimsuit! There was a great place to swim off the boat. Great 3 hours - friendly, knowledgeable crew - highly recommend this outing!
Fantastic afternoon on the high seas with our crew - Horatio, Carlos and Philippe. Great fun, very informative, an amazing afternoon dolphin watching- super experience highly recommend this - thanks guys!
The crew were very welcoming and friendly during the trip which lasted just under three hours and we fortunate to see dolphins and get some great photos. The stop for a swim was also very nice as well, plus snacks and drinks are available on board. A very pleasant afternoon
This was a very standard catamaran trip - we saw a few dolphins and a whale, which was great. However, there was no snorkel on offer for our swim, no free food or drink, no guide - so really not as good as similar trips on other islands
The staff were very welcoming they kept us informed all the time showed on the dolphins and whale. Explained about the animals to us it was a great 3 hours
Would recommend this company. It was a really pleasant comfortable trip. They do not overfill the boat and take two catamarans out leaving plenty of room. The crew are very knowledgable and slowed down to collect a plastic bottle out of the sea, very considerate.
An amazing experience with Sea Born boat trip watching dolphins and whales was an unforgettable moment. The boat trip felt exciting and truly one of Madeira’s most magical moments.
It was a very pleasant activity for our last day in Madeira. We chose the morning (10:30) cruise and had a lot of fun - saw dolphins swimming right in front of us, spotted a whale a couple of times and before heading back to Funchal we stopped for a swim near Cabo Girao. Overall - great experience and we would probably do it again, if we came back to Madeira.
Sunset dolphin watching with an off shore swim was brilliant. Went out on the catamaran webbing deck to maximise the experience. Wet and wild!
Every time we visit Madeira we have a catamaran trip with Seaborn, we find them value for money and always manage to see dolphins and occasionally whales. On this occasion we saw both. The staff are always courteous and informative. Many Thanks Seaborn, see next time🤩🤩
Beautiful boat, great guide and crew. Animals and a little swim. Perfect morning. Recommended for your Madeira stay
Absolutely loved this trip. Madeira looks lovely from the sea and it was a fantastic experience to see the whales and dolphins. The crew were all so nice and friendly and you can tell they’re interested in the animals and not just in it for the money. It was so impressive to see the effort they went to when someone spotted a turtle caught in a net and they released it and it was lovely to see the turtle swimming away. The stop at Cabo Giaro for anyone that wanted to swim in the sea is such a lovely opportunity. The catamaran is comfortable with plenty of seating and it is a lovely way to spend 3 hours. Well done to the crew and I would highly recommend to anyone looking to go out on a catamaran
The crew on the SeaBorn were excellent, very knowledgable and caring for the environment. A very pleasurable trip where we got to sea a good number of Atlantic Spotted Dolphins up close as well as seing the beautiful southern coastline of Madeira. Highly recommend this trip to anyone.
Staff were great and we were lucky enough to see Atlantic spotted dolphins. We went by the highest sea cliff in Europe and had the opportunity to jump off and swim. Absolutely worth the money! Thank you seaborn xx
Staff were knowledgeable, quickly pointing out whales, dolphins, turtles and a monkseal. The boat was clean and comfortable with space to move around. A very enjoyable few hours.
We did not know what to expect but the boat is lovely. Plenty of room with good toilets bar and snacks. As it’s a catamaran, very stable. The crew are lovely, especially Horatio. He gave a good to the point briefing and very helpful to anyone with questions. Thoroughly recommend this trip. And we saw some Whales !! Patricia & John
Unfortunately the dolphin’s were heading too far out for us to catch up with them but we saw a Fin Whale at 12 nautical miles out. You can’t control the wildlife but the crew worked hard to find something for us. The crew also fished out a baby squid and a sea snail for us to view. I was impressed that the crew also fished out plastic pollution as they went along.
