We wanted a trip out of Funchal to see a different part of Madeira. Our guide Francisco was absolutely wonderful sharing a lot of knowledge and history of the places we went to. We got some stunning views and the good weather meant we had a good view of the peaks from the middle of the nun's valley. Do try the chestnut bread, you won't be able to easily get it anywhere else.

Such a fun way to view Madeira! Our guide Pedro was very kind and educational. He took us to several beautiful view points & gave us plenty of time to explore and take pictures.
Our guide Joäo Silva gave us an unforgettable experience. He is a local and hat a good knowledge of culture and history. Super sympathetic! Very recommended! Monika and Anja
Absolutely fantastic experience. Stunning views, great experience on the Tukxi. Tiago our guide was amazing. Answered all our questions and was extremely knowledgeable about our trip to the Valley of the Nuns.
Very nice tour! Breathtaking views over the city, and over the Nun's Valley! Our guide Pedro spoke good English and gave us information about sites we passed.
What an amazing day. We were collected from right outside our ship and taken up through the hills. Our guide was exceptional, a very knowledgeable lovely lady. We finished off with a drive around the old own and even got some recommendations of good bars and restaurants.
Wow! What a way to travel. We had such a fun afternoon as a party of 12 people in 6 Tuks!! Tiago and his team were brilliant and made our trip good fun with some lovely stops, making time to enjoy the local produce too. Brilliant afternoon.
Simply the best way to see and experience Nuns Valley. You get to see everything you cant see from inside a car or bus. Always park nearby 😎
We had a brilliant experience, Maggie our TutTut driver/guide was fantastic. Her knowledge of the history and area was well informed as she was born and lives close by. We stopped off on the way so we could view Funchal a great photo opportunity. We then traveled on to the valley of the nuns, stopping at Eira do Serrado hotel for a fantastic view of the nuns valley. Then finally onto the valley. There was many opportunities to walk around and Maggie was brilliant in explaining the past and present. I would highly recommend this personal one to one tour with the benefit of a fun way to travel. The tuttut was comfortable and although it was chilly in the mountains in March we was provided with cosy blankets and the valley warm once we was there. Maggie was a very good driver and very experienced.
Absolutely loved the trip. Our guide was informative and nice. What a wonderful way to spend our time in Madeira. Nuns valley was breathtaking
A great experience. Stunning scenery. Good value. John, our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Recommended. Take jumpers, it’s cold at the top!
We booked the nuns valley tour by tukxi and it was brilliant, our guide was knowledgeable and I don't think there is a better way to travel up them mountain roads than by tukxi. Nuns valley was stunning and the views were breathtaking, I think riding into the mountains on the tukxi just took it to that next level of enjoyment.
The Tukxi was a fun way to see Madeira, the scenery was beautiful, and our driver was very nice and very accommodating. Only negative was that the Tukxi is noisy, but that would not stop us from doing it again.
This was a great 3 hours tour. We picked up our prebooked Tuk tuk outside the C7 museum, and it was bang on time. Our driver introduced himself, and González was not the speedy one you here of in the song. We set off at a slow pace through the streets of Funchal and upwards towards the Valley of the Nuns. We were given a history lesson and shown the sights as we made our way to the first stop for photos. Onwards, we climbed into the clouds and cooler weather to the viewpoint overlooking the enclosed valley. What a view, looking down hundreds of feet into the valley below surrounded by mountain ridges. As we made our way down to the village on the only access road, it started to rain, but no worries, our driver had pulled over the canvas roof. In the village was the original Nuns house (now a museum) and church. As the rain continued, we made our way back up the mountain and back to Funchal and back to the sunshine. I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour with Tukxi, and it was worth every penny. Excellent value for money at £28 for the 2 passengers for what was a 3 hour private tour.
Loads of fun! Really enjoyed the trip to and from Nuns Valley by Tuxki. Gonzalo was a friendly and informative tour guide and gave lots of history and background about Madeira on the ride there and back. As well at Nuns Valley. Definitely a good tour and good value for the price!
Great fun and good weather, driver Tiago very informative and pleasant. On time pick up from our hotel up to overlook point for Nuns valley. We decided not to go down into village to avoid fumes in long tunnel in open air tukxi, so instead we visited part of old town Funchal and timely return to our hotel.
A fun and unique way to visit the Nuns Valley. You felt much closer to everything and the sedate pace let you appreciate the views. Our guide was really friendly.
We booked the 6 hour tour. Wilson collected us from our hotel in Funchal and took us to so many places. He was great fun and extremely informative. He answered all of our questions about all aspects of live live in Madeira. Our weather was a little varied in the beginning with a few rain showers but that didn’t dampen our enjoyment of the trip. We would thoroughly recommend using Tukxi. We felt completely safe and comfortable and would certainly use the company again! Very special thanks to Wilson 👏👏
A really fun trip with an excellent guide (John) who was very knowledgeable and friendly. My husband has some mobility difficulties but this was not a problem. We have No hesitation in recommending.
What a brilliant 3 hours. Wilson our driver was very good and knowledgeable about the trip. The views we saw and the time spent in the Nuns valley were excellent. The trip was well worth the money.
My tour guide Wilson gave me the best tour into Nuns Valley with local knowledge and history, as well as being sensitive to my concern over heights. It was like a day hanging out with an old friend!
Great tour to Nuns’ Valley with Wilson who was so much more than a driver. This was our third visit to Madeira so we wanted to do some familiar things in a different way and this was a good choice. The Tukxi is a brilliant way to travel as being slower and open you take in so much more of what’s around you. Thank you Wilson for a very enjoyable and informative morning.
This was a brilliant tour to the Nuns Valley travelling by Tukxi with our excellent guide Kat. The trip would have been good, with fantastic views and amazing terrain but it was made really special by our Polish guide Kat. She was very knowledgable and a very skillfull driver plus great company. We came away feeling that this was easily the best day of our visit. Highly recommmended!
we had a lovely tour by tukxi up through funchal and into the mountains , there was just the two of us , which is the main reason for booking , that and the novelty of the vehicle , it was just perfect !! we was collected from the cruise port by a lovely friendly and knowledgeble guide , he seemed to genuinely enjoy his job and had a wide depth of history and key facts about the places we visited , he made sure we wasn't rushed and the whole tour felt just right , we also had the chance to visit an old fort , again we was dropped right off in the grounds , and the guide got some lovely photos for us , it was a lot of fun and so much more personal than a bus tour , i would consider this kind of tour again around a different part if we returned , and of course the added bonus about pre - booking was the collection right from outside where the cruise ship dock , funchal town itself is a good 20 minute walk , so it was nice to have it all organised and confirmed before our holiday .
After renting a car for a few days, we decided to try this Tukxi experience as well. It was the best decision. Can not be compared with a car rental.s Our driver Jennifer was specially kind, she drove us to beautiful place, explained a lot. It was an unforgettable afternoon!
We had two tours in total we liked the first one so much.. The driver we had was Ismiel luza on both tours he was very informative on the surround features, landscape and plants. We found him in Funcial between the port were the Santa Marie ship is harboured and the cable car.The tuk tuk is far the best way to see Madeira, its a steady pace you get to see more of the surroundings on your way to your destination your driver will stop at several locations on the way to get pictures and information. Thanks for the tours Ismiel hope to see you again and look after them two young girls you have..Darren and Stella
We were looking for a TukTuk tour for our stay in Madeira. Since our child is 9 years old, we were looking for a German-speaking tour. Through a link from our hotel, we became aware of Tukxi and were able to book easily. We made the booking directly through Tukxi.pt. The pickup took place directly at our hotel in Funchal. The tour with our German-speaking driver was very informative and he had very good background knowledge! He had a safe and considerate driving style! We felt well taken care of and regret that we did not book a tour through them at the beginning of our vacation. Since I drove the rental car on vacation, I also got to enjoy admiring the landscape from a "non-driver's perspective" with this tour.
It was a fun tour where our guide (Margarida) told us a lot about the area and history. Also had a tasting of food and drinks grown and prepared in Madeira.
We booked for the first time and were pleasantly surprised at how punctual and uncomplicated everything was.
