Private Cabo Girão Tour By Tukxi

We went from our hotel in Funchal to the Cabo Girao, and made a few stops on our way there and back. Our guide Margarita was great, she was warm, friendly and a safe driver. She was also very knowledgeable about the local history, ecology and landmarks across the island. We learnt about the levadas, the Nuns valley, Churchill, crops and life on the islands. We went in shorts but benefitted from having jumpers/ fleeces as it gets cooler further up and it's quite breezy in an open tuktuk. My wife and 5 yo son loved the experience as well. Would definitely do a tour like this again.

We were picked up from our hotel by a lovely lady in her Tuk Tuk, we had an amazing tour of Madeira and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We would highly recommend a tour in a Tuk Tuk it was great fun and we got to see some amazing views.

Our guide was Daniela and she ensured we had a great experience. She was very sociable but not overbearing. She made sure we saw great views and gave us a lot of information of Madeira’s culture and ways. It was nice when we stopped to take coffee with her and she also made sure we had plenty of selfies including herself in one for our memories. It was a pleasurable and enjoyable experience and nice to have met Daniela.

This was the first activity we did and we would definitely recommend. After a prompt pick up we set off for the village where Churchill used to paint, which was a pretty bay with colourfully decorated streets. We then went on further around the coast and paid €2 each to walk on the transparent platform, at Cabot Girao, 589m high. Tiago, our guide, drove us through the countryside and was very informative throughout. He stopped and explained the banana production process (it’s a herb apparently, but I’ll let him explain more), also the grapes, varying in colour and wine produced, the levadas, the irrigation process generally, the harvesting (and challenges transporting due to location) and a number of other crops and subjects. It was a fantastic way to get an understanding and feel for the island, especially as we’d only just arrived on the island and never been before. It was nice to be in the open air, not too fast so easy to see views and take photos on the move (although there were frequent stops), and easy to communicate and ask questions.

Martin was on time and gave us a great tour. He was considerate driver, and had answers to all our questions. We would absolutely recommend this tour.

We loved the ride and Davida was a great driver. Being in the fresh air and close up to the scenery was perfect.

Our guide Margarida (Daisy) was absolutely brilliant. She was so knowledgable about the area and made us feel at ease at over 500 metres on a glass platform. She was polite and time was not an issue. We weren’t rushed and because she was a local lass we saw loads of things I’m sure we would not normally have. I can only say that this is a fabulous tour and if you get Margarida as your guide it would be a bonus.

Maggie was our driver guide. She made the whole tour very pleasant, enjoyable, and informative. She is lovely, genuine and very passionate about Maderia. She even added extra couple of places at the end as there was time. Thank you Maggie for making our tour with you so much fun 💕 I would highly recommend her.

Sebastián was wonderful!! Polite, efficient, on time, knowledgeable and very respectful!! I recommend him and the company without a doubt.

Good experience and excellent guide. Andrea was always kind and helpful and allowed us to discover a very beautiful part of Funchal and its surroundings.

Excellent way to see Cabo Girao and the coast west of Funchal. Our driver had extremely good English and was very knowledgable about the history of the area. Highly recommended.

Gonzalez our tour guide was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and very patient with explaining things to us. He gave us time to explore and experience the city on our own a bit and was very nice to share this experience with. We felt safe and comfortable with him. I’d definitely recommend this excursion while visiting Portugal and the car was cute and unique

A novel and fun way to see the island. We picked this tour as had explored Funchal on foot on previous days but can imagine this would have been a perfect way to get around the town. “Speedy Gonsalez” was a knowledgeable, personable and passionate guide - I would request him for any future tour. Never has an irrigation system been so gripping and interesting (a non sarcastic remark). A non rushed atmosphere (we ran a little over) and relaxed good time. Specular views!

It was tailored personally. Great fun with such a knowledgeable and friendly driver. Better for stopping and taking pictures.

Must do experience to see more of Madeira and learn a lot about the history of the island. Possibly one of the best ways to travel for a relaxing tour with friendly and knowledgable guide.

The tour operator is extremely flexible. We decided spontaneously that we would like to go on a Tuk Tuk Tour and they managed to organise a tour within an hour. The guide was friendly and really competent.

Fabulous trip with Jessica who was knowledgable and fun . She made the day enjoyable and instilled me with more information About this lovely Island. We travelled in comfort and safely,in expert hands in a fun way to see the panoramic view of Madeira. Prompt to pick us up and took us back to a Xmas market,so we had two trips in one . Price same as a taxi £70 approx for 2.5 hours,with a couple of stops. Price per Tukxi for two not per person they also go to many other places and you can design your own trip Highly recommended

The ride in the Tukxi made a real mood, our guide Pedro was very nice, told/explained a lot and we enjoyed beautiful views. Gladly Tukxi again 👍

We booked the trip as an alternative to the hop on hop off bus for a trip to the Cabo Girao viewpoint. The vehicle has enough space for two adults, but it gets tight for three. We booked the tour at the end of our vacation, but we should have done it at the beginning! The German-speaking guide provided a lot of information about the country's people and history, gave tips for leisure activities, local sights and using public transport. Sensational! The vehicle has its own charm, but seemed a bit old. I didn't think €90 was really cheap, but in retrospect it was reasonable. We were picked up and brought back directly from the hotel. I would recommend it to everyone.

Das Fischerdorf ist sehenswert, sehr individuell, die Kirche und die Menschen super freundlich. Die Fahrerin war eine tolle Begleitung, tolle Aussicht, einfach eine interessante Erfahrung, es hat Spaß gemacht.

Good afternoon. Today December 29, 2022 I was canceled a reservation made on August 17, 2022 for a private tour in Cape Girão Funchal that would take place on January 1, 2023 at 15:00. The alternatives presented a few days before the tour were to change the date to December 31, 2022 or January 2, 2023. The excuse presented by the responsible was that the mirror in question will be closed on January 1, 2023. I didn't get a call to try to solve the problem and present real alternatives. It is strange that the dates presented by Enterprise Tukxi were already blocked on the booking website "Getyourguide.com". This indicates that the Enterprise Tukxi in addition to not respecting customer reservations, have VIP customers and the rest is treated with total disrespect. I ask those who are reading my publication to be very careful when making a reservation with these scammers. Surprisingly, the dates presented by the Tukxi company were already blocked on the "Getyourguide.com" booking site. This indicates that the Tukxi company, in addition to not respecting customer reservations, has VIP customers and the rest are treated with complete disrespect. Unparalleled experience. Driver picked us up on time at the hotel. Tour led to Camara do Lobos, Gabo Girao and Faja dos Padres. Lots of interesting information from the driver. Plenty of time to visit the restaurant at Faja dos Padres. Tour highly recommended!!
